E s430 GPU problem!!!!!

Hello,
i have a problem with my s430  gt 620m,  i cannot open the nvidia control panel. when i click it in the control panel, it
shows"You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU".   in the begining , i thought it was the driver problem , so i download the newest driver from lenovo website and installed on my s430. hoever ,The problem not fixed
and  i sent it to the lenovo repair centre last week, they told me the error is not physical problem(the graphic card is ok ), and they re-image my hard drive  and told me problem fixed.
Today when i recieved my s430 , i was so upset, and disappointed with lenovo.  the problem is not fixed they just hide the icoin of nividia at the Notification Area Icons.  when i click the button in control panel .......................
anyway ,  can some one tell me how to fix this problem? the graphic card is identified by the laptop,  but i can't configure it through the nvidia control panel.
best regards
ps : is it possible to return this laptop , i really hate it now.

I think I might have the same problem. In my case, the Nvidia control panel does not open because Windows has deactivated the graphics card. I find this error message in the Device Manager:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
The graphics card used to work fine until a recent Windows (8.1 64-bit) reinstall. I have tried many different drivers from Nvidia. Lenovo does not list the driver for this card in its support page.

  • GPU Problems with my GT60 2OC-024US

    Hi guys!
A couple of days ago, I opened up my GT60 to add a new SSD I bought and, since I was opening it up, I also repasted the GPU and CPU. It was the first time I was doing it on this computer, but its not the first time I do a repasting on a pc. So, everything went smoothly, changed the paste, put the heatsink back in place, and then, when I tried to boot the PC, it got stuck after posting, like waiting from a response from the GPU I guess...
Tried a couple of reboots and nothing worked, so then i proceeded to enter in safe mode to check if it was only a GPU problem and it was. With the integrated graphics i was able to uninstall NVIDIA drivers and then, voilá, I booted normally without problems, EXCEPT, of course, I cant use the dedicated gpu.
Already tried all kinds of drivers, tried opening it up again, repasting, reconnecting the GPU, and nothing works. As soon as the OS tries to use the dedicated GPU (after I install NVIDIA's drivers) the same problem appears. So it seems something has happened with it.
Any ideas or insight on this? I don't know how to proceed. I bought the notebook on the USA but I live in Argentina and i'm not sure if there's official RMA or something around here.
    Thanks a lot!

Did you ever think it might be a SSD compatilibty problem?
What is your SSD brand & model?  Have you check that SSD website and see if there is firmware update?

  • AE CS6 crashes at startup - indicating GPU problem

    Hi,
I am new to the Abobe suite. Using a MacPro running 10.7 Lion, Intel based processors. Using a Radeon ATI 6xxx video card (2 monitors connected via mini-display, HDMI not used at the moment). Installed AE properly (support desk Adobe verified this remotely). AE CS6 is crashing at startup, indicating a GPU problem. Support desk Adobe has advised to contact 'the Mac guys' in order to see if an update to the video card driver might resolve the issue. Mac support is confirming my system to be fully up to date. From other topics on this forum I noticed more people are suffering (or have suffered) the same problem. However I haven't seen any firm/clear resolution to this problem.
Can anyone tell me (in simple language) what I can do in order to get this configuration to work (ideally without having to replace my Graphics Card - as I believe it is a rather new model that I would expect to be supported)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marcel

  • Has the Asus G71GX-RX05 GPU problem been fixed?

Has the Asus G71GX-RX05 GPU problem been fixed? And if so what do you have to do to fix it.

    hi vanhelsing.
i know that asus was working on an updated BIOS to fix the GPU issue, and according to the last post in this thread on the asus support forums (http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20090627114124765&board_id=3&model=G71Gx(BestBuy)&SLanguage=e...), rev. 1201 seems to have done the trick.
i checked the asus support website (http://support.asus.com), and i found that there is an even new version of the BIOS - rev. 1302. i would recommend moving to this BIOS upon unboxing your G71GX.
i have updated the BIOS on both notebooks and desktops before, and the process is fairly painless. i found this link off the asus support site (http://support.asus.com/technicaldocuments/technicaldocuments.aspx?root=198&SLanguage=en-us), and it describes how to update the BIOS. i would recommend having a conversation with your local geek squad if you're not comfortable doing the process yourself.

  • Backlight AND GPU Problems? ARGHHHH

Even though my iBook G3 800 MHz has been having the flickering screen, lines, and freezes common of the GPU problem for about 6 months, it's been tolerable. I just told myself as soon as I couldn't deal with it, I'd send it in. Well, I wouldn't be posting this right now, if my backlight hadn't gone out. I opened it up, and it looks to me like it's the "pinched inverter cable" problem. So, I guess it's time to send it in. Problem is, I don't have the money to send it to Apple, but I really don't think I'm handy enough to fix it myself.
My question is, does anyone know a reputable website or company that would fix this sort of thing (I actully can live with the GPU problem, they don't need to fix that) cheaper then Apple?
    Thanks in advance

You may want to try DT & T Computer Services, but don't go halfway with it. Have them fix it completely or don't even bother sending it in. Why? Because one week after you get it back, that logic board could quit on you completely. Mine got so I could only use it 20 minutes a day.
If you ask, they may give you a discount on fixing the cable/logic board problem at the same time, since they only have to open it once. You could ask (I would.)
    Good luck.

  • MAC OS X + stage.fullScreenSourceRect + renderMode set to GPU = problem with mouse position

When setting stage.fullScreenSourceRect, stage.displayState to StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE; and renderMode to GPU, mouse position is read incorrectly. This is not only for mouseX and mouseY position, but also all the mouse interactions with Sprites, Buttons etc are not working correctly.
Anybody know a solution for this issue?
Here is the bug reported, but there is no response yet.

    Greg.

    Bump up.
Anybody has the same problem and have an idea how to fix it? Or please just check if you have the same problem.. I'm going to submit my game "Amelia and Terror of the Night" (successfully added to iOS store) to MAC App Store but can't do it while this problem appears.
I am disappointed nobody  even verified the bugs I submitted at  the bugbase.adobe.com for AIR 3.5 and 3.6
    thanks

  • Apple gurus please help. GPU problems

Hi everyone. Having a horrible gpu issue and cannot find a solution anywhere. I have one of the 2008 Macbook Pros with the dreaded 8600 gpu. If I run any OS past 10.6.3 I get artifacts on my display. But, with 10.6.3 all is pretty much ok except for watching movies from dvd or my drive. youtube video no problem full screen. The minute I go to 10.6.8 it's back to artifacts on certain web pages and youtube video. Lion to Mavericks I get artifacts on EVERYTHING. It seems to me that something in the 10.6.8 update and up is taxing the faulty gpu but I cannot figure out what. I don't mind sticking with Snow kitty but would like to have at least 10.6.8 for iTunes 11 so I can use my iphone sync. Any ideas or solutions? I tried updating to 10.6.8 and then using the old 10.6.3 video kexts but that didn't work and I had to reinstall. And I can't afford a new Mac or repair right now. Thanks in advance!

Make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and have them test you MBP and define what is exactly wrong with it.  The evaluation will be FREE!
    Ciao.

Hi... Under Wi-Fi preferences remove/delete/forgot your current Wi-Fi network and then create new network as if it was the first time you're setting this up for Wi-Fi.  This might help your problem, also you mentioned only your router, you may want to try to restart your modem as well.  Good luck with this!

  • ThinkPad S540 AMD GPU PROBLEM!!!!

Good day! I recently (2 days ago) purchased a brand new S540 laptop. It worked fine, until I discovered a problem with AMD GPU.
So I have 2 GPUs: Intel HD 4400 and AMD Radeon 8670M. I have the Windows 8 OS. The problem is: any time the laptop is switching to AMD GPU the screen goes black for a fraction of a second, and then I have a notification "driver failure" in windows tray. I installed ALL possible drivers, nothing helped. The AMD GPU doesn't seem to work at all. Moreover, I updated to Windows 8.1 through Windows market, and this caused huge new troubles: when I try to install the GPU driver I have a bsod with a message "thread_stuck_in_driver", something like that, and OS restarts; after restart I can't even see the login window, seems like windows is trying to initialize AMD GPU and I have same blue screen and another restart, only disabling the 8670M video adapter in safe mode helps, but again, exactly until I try to install/enable it again.
I did a factory reset, restored Windows 8 back. Disabled OS update to ensure that I have a laptop "exactly as designed", and again, same problem.
I assume this is a hardware problem, am I right? The laptop was in a brand new box with factory stickers.
    Thanks!

    Ok, no response
Is this thing official, can I hear a feedback from Lenovo support guys?
I sent the laptop back for diagnostics.
I'm afraid that seller will tell me to repair the laptop; for free of course, but I'm not happy to pay full price for repaired device. In such case I can ask to reduce the price, but can't find how much the AMD 8670M costs. Maybe someone here can help? In % for ThinkPad S540 - how much would that be? 10%? 20%?
    Thaks!!

  • Windows 10 - AMD GPU Problem

I recently upgraded to Microsoft's new OS, Windows 10 (Was Windows 7 Pro). Before the upgrade, Microsoft's system check stated that all my software and hardware was compatible, so I decided to upgrade. The problem is that all my hardware wasn't completely compatible. My computer kept on crashing after a few minutes after start up, I did some research and the problem was my AMD Radeon HD 8750M GPU. I had to disable the GPU in order to even use my computer. Windows 10 & my computer works fine now, but I am wondering if there is an updated driver for the AMD Radeon HD 8750M. I tried checking for driver updates through Window's Device Manager but received this message:  I also went on HP's site to check for the drivers:
    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5405424&ac.admitted=1405091577086.876444892.492883150&swEnvOID=4059&action=listDriver&swLang=8
There is currently no option for Windows 10 however. Will my AMD GPU have an updated driver released soon? or is my GPU unsupported now? If the driver is out there, I would like the link to it please, thank you. I would also like to note that my NoteBook has switchable graphics and I am currently using my Intel GPU. If I attempt to install a driver and use my AMD card, then Windows 10 will crash and give me an "Internal Battery Error" and reboot my PC.

So I reupdated to Windows 10 and I checked this: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5405424&ac.admitted=1405091577086.876444892.492883150&swEnvOID=4059&action=listDriver&swLang=8 and I saw that the AMD driver has a new update for Windows 10. HOWEVER! I am still receiving that "INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR" that I see a lot of AMD users on the ProBook 450 G1 have also received. This is quite frustrating. :L

    Hello @eshanlaptopg6,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that your notebook is experiencing a problem with the GPU drivers, and that a re-installation has not resolved the issue. I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
In order to restore the software configuration for your system's graphics, I recommend following this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8). Once the drivers have been re-installed on your system, please update them by Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8).
If your system is still lagging when you are playing your games, you can also take a look at this resource on Resolving slow system performance (Windows 8) to increase the speed and efficiency of your notebook's system.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Lenovo IdeaPad Z710 GPU problem

Hi to evreyone! So recently I bought a brand new Lenovo Z710 (i7-4700mq, intel hd 4600 and nvidia gt745m). I then installed windows 8.1 (genuine) and all the drivers on the cd that came with the machine. But it seems there is a big problem with the graphics card. Nvidia gt745 seems like its not there. The Geforce Experience and nvidia control panel fail to recognize it, although it's there on Windows Driver Manager. When I try to load a game (WOW) it crashes on the loading screen. "Display driver has stopped responding..." bubble appears and a minute or so afterwards, there is a bsod. The game works on the integrated card (intel hd 4600) when nvidia is disabled or its driver is uninstalled.
I tried reinstalling the drivers, downloading and installing the recent ones, removing all graphic drivers and reintalling them in different order, tried safe mode, changed some bios settings, but still nothing happened.Could this be any kind of driver compatibility issue or simply a windows thing, or is it a hardware problem? Could the nvidia be faulty or the laptop itself? I want to try anything before turning it back to where I bought it for a look... So your ideas will be vastly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for the reply! I've managed to solve it, after playing with the drivers for around 2-3 days. There was some kind of incompatibility between the integrated gpu driver (intel hd) and nvidia. I gave up to this thread, because there was no movement. What I did and worked is the following procedure: I completely wiped out every gpu driver, then installed the newest nvidia driver (careful, only the driver, and via Windows driver manager, not the nvidia's .exe installer). After that, I installed the intel hd driver (this time the full .exe installer) and then, I used the nvidia installer to install all its other components (you cannot use the nvidia's .exe installer without the integrated driver already installed). I hope these make sense, but that's how I fixed it. Anyway, I don't know what kind your problem is exactly (Is your laptop new? Have you upgraded or changed any driver recently? Can you play any other games?) but mine had nothing to do with WoW. Whatever settings I used, the result was always a crash. Now everything is ok and the game runs smoothly. It felt like Windows knew that there was a dedicated gpu, but couldn't access it.

  • K7N420 Pro onboard GPU problem

    Running:
    Nforce 420 Pro
    AMD XP1800+
    Onboard APU & GPU
    Slot 1 512mb pc2700 ddr
    Slot 3 256mb pc2100 ddr
    30 gb 7200 Western Digital
    TDK cd-rw
    Toshiba cd-rom
    Windows 2000 sp3
Okay, so here's the problem, out of nowhere my system started running in 16 color mode and wouldn't let me change over. Tried reloading the GPU driver. No help. Then I tried reloading Windows. No help there either. Then I completely wiped my drive and started over from scratch with the setup that was letting me run better color when I first built my machine, but amazingly it still won't let me run any higher than 16. When I open device manager and look at the display adapter resources tab it says that the memory ranges that the nforce GPU are trying to access are in use. I haven't been able to find anything else utilizing that specific memory range though. Any thoughts at all?

Alrighty. Sorry it took so long to try these suggestions. Apparently the only thing worse than having a non-working computer is having a hellish cold and trying to work on a computer. So anyway, I tried disabling video ram cacheable and video bios shadow. Still the same. I also checked that plug and play OS was set to no.  Which it already was. So here's a more in depth description of what's going on with my system, maybe this'll spark a thought or two.  When I look at the NVIDIA GeForce 2 integrated GPU properties under the resources tab I get this reading:
    Memory Range AC000000-ACFFFFFF      not available
    Memory Range A0000000-A7FFFFFF      not available
    So then I go over to Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Computer Management\System Tools\System Information\ I/O  I get this:
0x03B0-0x03BB occupied by both "NVIDIA nForce AGP Host to PCI bridge" and "VgaSave"
    0x03C0-0x03DF and
Memory 0xA000-0xBFFFF are occupied by both of those as well.
So what is VgaSave? And can I disable it to get the GPU running again? Any thoughts? Or shoot I just shoot it and put it out of my misery?

  • GX60 Split GPU problems

I have recently purchased an MSI gx60 notebook which contains both an integrated AMD Radeon HD 8650G as the primary and an AMD Radeon(TM) R9 M290X as the linked adaptor, I am no expert but I know these are supposed to work in conjunction with each other with the integrated running when not in maximum performance mode and the dedicated when running applications that require high performance.
The problem is that I am unable to get the R9 M290X working and the notebook seems to running off the Integrated graphics regardless of what the power settings are.0. I have messed around with the power settings in Catalyst to no avail and the device manager tells me that both the GPU's are functioning properly.
So why am I getting Atrocious performance on games that the Dedicated should be able to run like they are nothing? What can I do to make the R9 to be used when playing games?
    Any help would be appreciated.

I'll preface this by saying that I don't have a GX60, but I do know that within the Catalyst driver settings you can pick which programs will use the R9 M290X. You might have to manually add the application and then set it up to use the R9 M290X, but it should work just fine.
It doesn't surprise me that the 8650 isn't performing well though in games.
Now, is the color of your power button changing when you play the games?
I'm not sure how it is on the GX60, but I'm pretty certain that the power button should change color according to what GPU is being used. The integrated might be blue or white, while the dedicated might be red or orange. If it's not changing color, most likely it's not using the right GPU.
