E-Separation - HR Person as a request Initiator

Dear All,
In e-Separation module we can configure HR person as initiator of separation request. Does the system consider HR person which is stored in Administrator Field in Infotype 0001 as a initiator of separation request?
If yes then if we are not maintaining this administrator field in IT0001, can we have other alternative by which I can identify HR person as initiator who is linked to organization unit through custom relationship...?? i.e. employee falling into specific organization into has his HR contact person which is maintained through custom relationship between position of HR person and organization unit Id.

As mentioned in your reply The manager or HR can create separation request only for those employees belonging to his or her reporting line.
Just need one claraification here, Reporting Line for manager means manager having A002 relationship with the employees can raise the request for these employees only(correct me if am wrong). But I didn't get meaning of reporting line for HR. Do we have standard reporting(??) relationship between HR person and employees at Organization unit level....so that this HR person can raise the request for the employees belonging to these org unit only...??

Is it possible to create a CUP request initiated from the ECC backend?

Hello GRC experts,
I am hoping to solve a problem by interrogating the HR and SAP users tables in the ECC backend, and then in some cases, creating CUP provisioning requests to delimt specific user roles. I am not aware of any functionality that allows creation of requests other than HR triggers or manual data entry. (HR triggers do not satisfy our need as we are doing direct provisioning, so we must explicitly specify roles in the request. )
Has anyone done this before? Any ideas.

Start with the test option in web service explorer to find out which items you need in the request.
Roles must still be imported in CUP. You'll need about the exact same configuration in CUP like for manual requests, the web service will basically just fill out the request form.

If you still would like to use Ibooks you can add Collections. i.e.. work pdf's
View your collections, add a new one.
Now go to the pdf's you want to add to that collection and move them to the new collection you have just created.

ESS : SAP E-Separation

Hi,
I am using India specific ESS service of E-Separation on Portal via EHP5.
Whenever the user is trying to submit the RESIGNATION he is getting the error "Request not created.Not able to determine manager or hr person".
I tried all permutation and combinations in the approval settings but nothing seem to work.
My requirement is just that SEPARATION request initiated via employee through ESS should goto his manager/HR person for APPROVAL/REJECTION.
Please guide to troubleshoot the same.

Please check whether all the relationships are maintained for the
employee in the organization structure.
Please maintain entries in view V_T77WWW_EAREL

All the realtionship maintained like A-002 ,A012, etc
The relationship for the HR Person needs to be maintained which is
missing. The HR person needs to be associated to the organizational unit
via the relationship A 095(HR Point of contact).Once that relationship
is maintained the error will not appear.

I only figured it out Sony has merged Real Name Requests with Friends Requests.Not all PS4 users will allow their real names to be shown on PS4 - PSN but to add it in with friends requests is forcing those who don't want to reveal their real names to a billion PS4 users.

It's not even half 8 on a Saturday morning and already you're moaning yet again at something you're apparently 'forced' to do You seem to have a real persecution complex with big companies I'm pretty sure the real name thing is still optional as per the PS4's settings and the real name thing is just the option (which was seperate after a friend request had been accepted) now combined into the initial friend requestThe person receiving the request doesn't HAVE to give their real name Sony wouldn't force anyone to give their real name, Data Protection Act and all that Stop trying to find things you're 'forced' to do when actually that's not the case and do what I'm doing - Chilling out with toast and a cup of coffee By the way Mr Exaggeration, there isn't even a billion PS4 users on the planet

Error in creating a request CUP ( AE53)

I have installed CUP ( AE 5.3) .
All the configurations are done. When I click on create a new user request the screen goes into a busy mode & remains in the same state. It doesn't give any error message.
Has anybody faced simillar error before..I have checked all connector / request initiator settings & they look ok.

The problem is not with AE configuration but with the loading of the requestAccess.do page .
Please restart the J2EE server where you have deployed and try again.

Which browser are you using , IE , mozilla etc ? and if it is IE which version is it ?

Reassign request in OIM 9.1.0.2. BP 19

Hi Folks,
I have come across a requirement. I want requester to reassign the requests raised by him to some one else. i.e. Whenever a person submit a request, it goes to his manager for approval. Now I want in view requests page, request should be able to reassign that request to some one else. Currently reassign button appears disabled in page. I know this is a product feature but some how I have to achieve my requirement.
Any suggestions (apart from UI customization) are highly appreciated.

Another option:
1. add assignee lookup in object form and populate all the assignee in this(all user or the user belongs to group)
2. now modify your approval code to select the approver from the list.
In the above case requester will raise new request instead of re-assign(you can leave the old request as it is or have a scheduler which will revoke the older request)

Cisco SPA-504G: Retrieving Broadsoft Personal directory does not display first and last name

We are using the Cisco SPA-504G on BroadWorks Release 17.sp3. We are using the feature to lookup the different BroadWorks directories through the 'dir' button on the Cisco phone. For configuration you have three choices for telling the phone which directory it needs to retrieve:
- Personal
- Group
- Enterprise
This can be found by going to Voice -> Phone -> Broadsoft Settings in the web GUI of the phone (admin & advanced mode).
When retrieving the Enterprise or Group directory everything is working OK. I can see the names and the corresponding phonenumbers of the users.
When retrieving the Personal directory I only see the phonenumbers and not the names of the entries. This is probably due to the fact that the XML output of the Personal directory is different compared to the Enterprise/Group directory. Personal directory is like:

As you can see the name of a user in the Personal directory is defined by <name></name> and the name of a user in the Group directory is defined by <firstName></firstName> <lastName></lastName>.
So it looks like the phone is not capable of parsing the XML output of the Personal directory request. And to me that looks like a bug.
Anyone that can acknowledge?

Our upcoming release scheduled for the end of this month should resolve this issue. There were a number of fixes in this particular area that were made.

Request for Skype and Camera Controls on Nokia 808...

Hi Yvonne,
One of the major issues I have with my Nokia 808 is the lack of compatibility of some basic apps like Skype. Some of us need them for business as well as personal needs. Request you to look into rectifying this.
The other major issue in a phone whose USP is its fantastic camera - is the lack of functions to control the aperture or shutter speed in manual mode - c1/c2/c3.
If these are addressed - this is the best camera phone - FULL STOP.

What to store in session/request

Hello.
I'd appreciate some input on a design issue that i have. I am building some new components in a system that consists of JSP pages and servlets, which is new technology to me. I will try to describe my question in a simple and straightforward way:
My JSP page has a function where i can retrieve a list of people, based on some filtering criteria. It calls a servlet, that uses underlying components to read the persons from the database and compose an ArrayList of Person objects. It then attaches this ArrayList to the Session bean using the setAttribute method on the HttpSession object.
The JSP page then lists the result list from the search for people and using a control on the page, the user can move one or more persons from the search result list to a list of selected people, creating a team of one or more persons. This team is stored in an ArrayList attached to the session object and it's retreived, updated and re-attached to the session object by the servlet every time the user clicks on the control that selects a person to be added to the team. On form submit, the JSP page stores key information about the selected person in hidden fields in the form and the servlet extracts this information from the request object and updates the ArrayList and re-stores it in the session object.
When the "save team" button is pressed (form submit) and control returns to the servlet, it extracts the selected persons from the request object and uses underlying components to save the list. In essence, the session object is used to "send" the search result and the current list of members in ther team to the JSP page. The request object is used to send the current list of persons in the team from the JSP page to the servlet.
Now to my question: what is the best practice design for a function like this one? Is using the session object to transfer the search result list from a servlet to a JSP page a good solution? Is it a good solution to keep the list of selected persons in an object attached to the session object until it is finally saved a good solution. It is not entirely clear to me when i should store data on the session object and when to use the request. Also, what mechanisms are there to transfer data from the servlet to the JSP page, other than attaching it to the session object?

Can the servlet attach an object to the request object and can the JSP page access it just like it can with objects attached to the session object?Yes. Just use HttpServletRequest#setAttribute() and forward the request to the JSP.
Is there a general guideline for what to store in the session and what to store in the request? Store request scoped variables (form input values, request-specific variables, etc) in request scope and session scoped variables (logged in user, user settings, user specific dropdown list contents, session-specific variables, etc) in session scope.
My picture of this was that the request is something that is generated when a form (JSP page) is submitted and that it cannot be used to transfer data from a servlet to a JSP page. Is that wrong?Yes, it is wrong.

Persona Q Wild Card Premium Edition Preorder mishap

I placed an order for Persona Q Wild Card Premium Edition Preorder on 07/05/2014 for $49.99. Today, the standard edition came in the mail instead of the premium edition that I ordered. I'm wondering if I can get it exchanged for the premium edition in stores or just get ship the item back for the premium edition. I didn't get any notification that the order change when it shipped. I apologize for the lateness of this reply; we are currently backlogged on the forums and trying to catch up. As you may have surmised from this thread and others around Persona Q, there was initially an issue around the Wild Cards edition being listed incorrectly, which meant that some customers received the standard edition when they got their pre-orders.
We do have the Wild Cards edition available for order on BestBuy.com here and some stores may potentially have copies left. I would recommend returning your standard edition, if unopened and either exchanging it they have it in store or ordering online if they do not. Approver Not Found IN CUP While Executing a Request.

Hi Experts,
I have created a new request type for new role creation in CUP(AC 5.3 SP7),created a initiator for that and included the new request type in that.I have also created a new stage and selected a custom approver determinator with attribute type business process(approvers set).
Finally, i have created a path with two stages,first-manager and second of process owner.I can see clealry the approver determinator are selected in both the stages of path.
After performing the above configuration in workflow,i am creating a request for the same and getting the error that no approver found at process owner stage.
Please provide me any tip to resolve the issue.

You are absolutely right,when i changed approvers on the base of request type in CAD,it went right to the next stage.But, when i am trying to set approvers on the base of business process i am not reaching into next stage, reason is while creating request I am not choosing the business type.
Now, i am not geting any business process in the drop down list(while creating request initially),also, i am not able find any option in CUP from where i can specify the business process.
Please guide me.

Friend requests and private profile settings

I think it would be good idea if someone sends a friend request, the person recieving the request should be able to see the senders profile, regardless of the privacy settings. This will allow people to make a better decision about accepting or rejecting a request. This can also be extended to include Meet Me as well.
