E-Sourcing NDA's

Our company is using E-Sourcing and our buyers are asking me if there is a way to manage Non-Disclosure Agreements in E-Sourcing The NDA is a form that we ask our suppliers to sign before we do any business with them. Does anyone know if there is a way to manage these NDA's in E-Sourcing?

As James mentions above, many companies are managing NDA's as contract documents in Master Agreements, leveraging full capabilities of E-Sourcing/CLM solution. (including buyer/supplier check-in/out capabiliities, storage of signed documents, approval workflow, and managing amemdement processes.)
If you specifically want to allow suppliers and internal users to "sign" the document using their "mouse" on the screen, then you will need to have a digital signature solution. We have several customers who are working with a couple of third party digital signature solutioin providers and our development team has been supporting the integration. We are planning to offer these solutions as a certified partner solution in the future.

Im a solid dev, and not an expert but I can contribute in things such as testing and low level optimization; But, the Adobe open source site is a galactic disaster and discourages me from getting invloved. Everything is here and easily notable. I avoid the seamingly endless pages and confusion. If I want to submit a feature request I am directed to create another login for some Bug and Issue management? HUH? I thought I was submitting a featue request.

Next when I finially do get to Flex SVN, this trunk. is nothing like I have seen.what IS all this stuff and where do I go to learn about it? There are countless subfolders filled with things I vaguely understand and if I want to learn what it is. where do I go? Is there even a src folder?

I just spent 5 minutes or so twirling through all these SVN directories and Adobes website and I am clueless. I feel like the project is unessarily complex and disorganized - even if it isnt. This just convinced me to delete my Flex sdk bookmark on my SVN client.
Adobe just lost one potential contributor to Flex SDK.
We have another idea that were bouncing around that I hope to share in a week or two but wont get into now.
Saying stuff like this is what gives people the impression of closed. Why not post these ideas the Flex team has? Even if it is stupid or incomplete

Wow, thanks for your response. This is great. I now understand that I had a combination of prejudice and ignorance when regarding Adobe Open Source. Perhaps my ignorance on these particulars is something that other devs encounter ( that whole perception thing ). I have chatted with people who consider the Flex SDK and Flex Builder... not the same... but fused together so much that it'd be just crazy to try and use one with out the other When I mention using Flex without Flex Builder.... people get that glazed over look in their eyes....( FYI I'm a FDT man, but am keeping a close eye on the new Flex Builder ) I'll use Zend as an example ( it's the best that I can come up with ) but I feel like there is a difference between the open source framework and Zend Studio ( commercial software ). Anyway, I'm really excited about how you've responded to all this. I have more ideas, but Ill sit on them and think it through and get ready for next weeks meeting. Open Source Applications ? List them?

Is it possible to submit your app to the AppStore as a GNU licensed
open source app? It must be, because WordPress have done it. The GPL
is included in their Xcode project file here:

But I am wondering how they did it?
Did they need to do any special lobbying etc, to get it through?
I previously thought you couldn't publish open source through AppStore.

You couldn't release open source due to the old NDA that has since been lifted. "Barcodes" is an app i've seen recently say it was open source.

Do I send the source code

I have found a few canditades to update the source code of a plugin for AI that I own. All candidates want to see the code and I understand this but is this a safe method to conduct business? My question is...what are the procedures for handling source code? Do I just send it to potential programmers or is there a tried and true method to safeguard the code. Would anyone be able to advise me on this matter?

NDA at least, or something more specific if necessary. I'm usually the guying being made to sign NDAs though, and its been a while since I took that Computer Law course at university

Is there any plans to have subversion (SVN) source control support in LabVIEW 8?

I was wondering if there were any plans or any workarounds to tie into a subversion (SVN) revision system control system with the integrated LabVIEW 8 source control.
We are currently using rev. 1.2.3 SVN.

Basically LabVIEW for Windows makes use of the Microsoft SCC API for
all version control activities and any source code control system with
such an interface can be used. The SCC API is treated by Microsoft as a
trade secret and you can't really get the specs without signing an NDA.
So there is not likely to be an Open Source SubVersion interface to be
out there soon but there is a company selling an SCC provider for
SubVersion PushOK SubVersion Proxy.

[solved]Open source hardware / firmware, what license to pick?

Hi All,
I want to create a opentherm gateway, so a normal PC can talk to several opentherm thermostats. I would like to release the firmware of the microcontroller, and also release the kicad files of he PCB.
What is the best license to give the firmware? GPL2, GPL, or something different? What is the best license for the PCB files? Creative common, GPL2/3?
I would like everybody to be able to use and adjust the files, but they must publish the changes.

Thanks, I should indeed have mentioned the distribution part. This is my first project I'm planning to do open source, so I never had to deal with a license before.
I guess GPL 3 will work, I have no problem if anybody burns my code in a microcontroller, and sells it. As long as that person publishes their code I'm happy.
Will GPL3 also work on the kicad files?
Opentherm does not work over IP, instead it uses a serial protocol. Manchester encoded, and 4 bytes per message. I don't see how remotecontrol can be made to talk to it.
The protocol seems to be under NDA, but a google search to "opentherm protocol" does yield a PDF with all the information
Somebody else has already made an opentherm gateway, but I need to talk to 7 thermostats, instead of one.

Error in Creation of BW data source

Hi All,
While creating a data source, i am selecting the Origin type Business ware house cube & in the RFC destination field i can able to select the BW syste. The problem is when i go to the next filed BW report and try to get the relevant BW report from F4 the system shows a log error as "System error in System" Message no. CRM_MKTTG_DS_MISC033.
In second case
I have taken an existing BW Data source and tried to recreate it manually filling all the fields with existing data source, RFC destination, BW report, Business partner and Function module.
In this case the system doesnu2019t throws any error, it is working fine if I create manually.
I am in a dilema why the system behaving like this. could you please throw some light on this issue.

Unable to capture the Data Source into a Transport Request

Hi All,
We have a product hierarchy and we are using the data source :4R_PRODH_D_LGEN_HIER for the hierarchy.
Now we need to transport this structure to the quality environment but we were not able to capture the datasource:4R_PRODH_D_LGEN_HIER into a transport request.
When ever we activate the data source:4R_PRODH_D_LGEN_HIER it is asking for the Package and the Transport Request Number.If we give these details and save it, data source is not getting captured in the request, only the "bject Directory Entry" is getting captured.
Can someone please guide me on how to capture the datasource under "Data Sources in BW" in a transport request.

Hi Sachin,
Hierarachy datasource is not captured as Attributes and Text Datasource. So what ever you have done is correct.
What ever is captured in Object Directory Entry is correct. So go ahead with your transports, once transport is done check the Hierarchy Infopackage with Available OLTP hierarchies and load the data.
Most important thing first see that the all Master & Transactional Datasources are transported in R/3 Dev to QA to PRD
In BW, datasources are not transported, only their replica is transported.
Transportation of Datasource is done in R/3. Only their replica is transported in BW.
So wht ever you have done till now is correct. So go ahead.
While attaching Hierarchy Datasource it is captured only in "Object Directory Entry"

Basic would be ;
RESULT_FIELDS -xxx = <SOURCE_FIELDS> -xxx
you have the source fields as source, and result fields for as the target. In between you can check some conditions as in other routines of transformation.
BEGIN OF tys_SC_1, shows your source fields ( in your case DSO chars and key figures)
BEGIN OF tys_TG_1, , shows your result fields ( in your case Cube characteristics)

Creating a Cross Reference linking to a Paragraph. In the paragraph where the cross-reference source is inserted, may the cross-reference link be applied to existing text in that paragraph so that the cross-reference destination text does not appear? Text anchors can be created to accomplish this, but that is an extra step (I can create a cross reference linking to a paragraph all in one dialog box). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I agree that it's confusing. Here's how I do it:
To create a text anchor at the insertion point location:
* Open the Hyperlinks/Cross-References panel's menu (also called "flyout menu." It's the small icon at the upper-right of the panel, below the double-arrow (>>) icon that collapses the panel.
* Choose New Hyperlink Destination. THIS SHOULD BE NAMED NEW TEXT ANCHOR!!!
* Choose Type: Text Anchor
* Name the anchor as you like Click OK.
To create a cross-reference to a text anchor:
* Place the insertion point where you want it.
* Click the Create new Cross-Reference button on the bottom of the Hyperlinks/Cross-Reference panel.
* Choose Link To: Text Anchor
* Choose the target document
* Choose the text anchor
* Choose the Cross-Reference format
* Choose Appearance properties
* Click OK
I'm not sure what could cause the straight/curly quotes problem other than perhaps the font doesn't have curly quotes. Have you tried other fonts?

"get all new data request by request" after compressing source Cube

Hi
I need to transfer data from one Infocube to another and use the Delta request by request.
I have tried this when data on Source Infocube was not compressed and it worked.
Afterwards some requests were compressed and after that the delta request by request is transfering all the information to target Infocube in only one request.
Do you know if this a normal behavior?

The objective of compression is it will delete all the request in your F table and moves data to E table.after compression you don't have request by request by data.
This is the reason you are getting all the data in single request.
Get data request by request works, if you don't compress the data in your Cube.

Generate xml source file for Oracle Order Capture Print Quote

Hi,
I am new to xml and need to work on creating templates for Print Quote.
I am trying to generate the xml source file for which I enabled the report in system administrator and set the output to XML and assigned to Quoting Reports responsiblity. I then assigned XML Report Publisher to the same responsiblity.
I ran the report (Print Quote) and then I am trying to run the XML Report Publisher but I cannot get the request id in the list of values.
I am able to generate xml source file for other reports like Printed Purchase Order etc.,
The view output for the (Print Quote) report is as follows:

<ASOPQTER />
How do I get the xml source file? Or are there seeded templates that I can use to create more templates? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ravi

Hi, I am in the same position - did this issue ever ger resolved by anyone. I have done a few XMLP reports successfully now using the Word add-in, but customising the Quote output differs from other standard reports.
If you look at the data definition for Quote it is a 'dummy' definition and has no XML file attached. Does anyone know how I can get the XML format for the report output?
Also the template uses XSL-FO ?!?!?! rather than RTF - not sure how to work with this, the Oracle docs are not very helpful in this regard either.
Has anyone successfully managed to customise the Quote print report? Many thanks,

Using a SQL data source and XML data source in the same template

I am trying to develop a template for the Request for Quote report generated in Apps 11.5.10. I have loaded the data from the XML output into the template, but I am missing one field - I need the org_id from the po_headers table. Is it possible to use a sql data source (i.e., "select org_id from po_headers_all where po_header_id = [insert header_id from xml data]...") in addition to the xml data source to populate the template at runtime? When you use the Insert > SQL functionality is it static at the time the template is created, or does it call to the database at runtime? I've looked through all the docs I could find, but this isn't clear.

Thats a tough one ... if you go custom with a data template you will at least get support on the data template functionality ie you have a problem when you try and build one. You will not get support on the query inside the data template as you might have gotten with the Oracle Report, well you could at least log a bug against development for a bad query.
Eventually that Oracle Report will be converted by development anyway, theres an R12 project going on right now to switch the shipped OReports to data templates. AT this point you'll be fully supported again but:
1. You have to have R12 and
2. You'll need to wait for the patch
On reflection, if you are confident enough in the query then Oracle will support you on its implementation within a data template. Going forward you may be able to swap out your DT and out in the Oracle one without too much effort.

There are 3 methods to update the Calendar or defining the period
E-Business Suite and PeopleSoft calendars have these important elements:
Calendar—Identifier for a calendar
Start Date—Start date of the period
End Date—End date of the period

"Open sql" report no data sourced defined in windows

when I want to import data from sql database, the Open sql window report error
"There are no data sourced defined. Please create one to continue",
but I have defined the odbc data source using windows 's odbc administrator, why the error?

A couple of possibilities.
First are you licensed for Sql interface? If not, you might get that message.
Second, where did you create the ODBC connection on your computer or the server. It has to be on the server.
Third, did you create the odbc as a system driver? it needs to be so
Fourth, what operating system? If it's unix or AIX there is a hole bunch more you need to do to get odbc connections working. If it's windows, it's pretty easy.
Fifth, did you test the connection before trying it in Essbase?
