E1 Link and Leased Line

Dear Professional,
My existing customer wants to use the existing leased lines as a backup and use the new 4 E1 lines (bundled) as an active links to their current VOIP network.
Any suggestion and sample config is a big help and appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Currently, my customer has an existing VOIP network. They have around 22 different sites and connected via leased lines. In the main sites, they have 2 3660 routers and the 22 remote sites are distributed to these routers accordingly for load balancing. The routing protocol they are using is OSPF.
Since they requirements are increasing they decided to expands and upgrade the existing 3660 routers to 7609 router, while the existing leased lines will upgrdae to E1 links, some of the sites with low requirements will use the same links and those sites with higher demands will upgrade to E1, but the customer are insisting to keep the existing leased lines as backup and the new E1 links as the active.
Thank you and regards

  • E1 and leased line.

    Hi All,
Can we say E1 an a leased-line is both are same / any difference is there.
If my company take E1 from one Service Provider then how can we get Internet, from where shall I took this service.
Experts can anybody see about it.
    Regards,
    Naidu.

Leased lines (LL) are available with a wide range of bandwidth starting from Kbps to high speed Mbps lines. E1/T1 are a part of it.
They can be either used to connect sites within intranet or to connect directly internet. Internet leased lines can be again be categorised as dedicated LL to a specific organisation or shared LL between a No. of companies.
So, the criteria of selection would be Bandwidth & Internet LL or intranet LL.

  • Metro E'net vs Lease Line

Hi, I want to use Metro E'net and
Leased Line effectively within 4 campus
All the centers are having L2/L3 Switches and routers & WAN Links are running on OSPF as on date.
    Existing Setup (2500 Desktops + 250 Servers)
    1. Seperate Network ID / Internet connections / Servers for all places
    2. Seperate VoIP PBX for all the places (This will work for IP / Trunks over WAN)
    3. Seperate WAN Links for Connecting Different offices
    4. Seperate Adminstrators for all the places
    5. Seperate VLAN/VTP Server/Clients
    6. Seperate Firewall for all the places
    After Commisioned the Metro E'net,
    Option: 1
    1. Will Metro E'net be reliable having a single vendor ? If not, do we need to get from second vendor also ?
    2. Can i merge all in to single network ?? Will this is reliable ???
    3. Can we use VLAN/VTP information over Metro E'net ?? If so, is that secured ?? If not, to secure what needs to be done?
    4. All the L2/L3 become VTP Server and rest all switches become Client mode
    5. Can we forward VoIP Traffic over Metro E'net ?? (For IP we can propogate for Trunks required only WAN.. How do we do that?
    6. Will Metro E'net can be used for L2 and L3 Functionality ? (If not, is it possible for split 8 MB to 4MB for 6 MBPS for L2 and 2 MBPS for Routing ?
    7. Will QoS can be enabled on Metro E'net ?
    8. Can we forward all the centers Internet traffic to single center?
If the above case is worked out, we will not use Leased circuit at all.
    Option:2
    1. Metro E'net will be used for VLAN/VTP's only
    2. All the L2/L3 Becomes VTP Server and others will have Client Mode
    3. routing will be used for Routers
Please advise which is good for a Corporate network and how can we impliment

  • Is there a DIRECT link between SD schedule lines and delivery lines?

Is there a direct link (db table) between schedule lines on a sales order (VBEP) and the delivery lines (LIPS)?
Is there a function module to retrieve the data?
    Example-
One order line with 3 schedule lines.
Each schedule line is for 2 units (total of 6 units).
Three deliveries made.  1st is for 2 units, 2nd is for 1 unit (backorder), 3rd is for 3 units.
You can use document flow (table VBFA) or examine the SD document in the delivery line (LIPS) and link the delivery line to the order line.  The schedule line already references the order line.
I am using math to decrement the schedule lines used and make the link between VBEP and LIPS.  It works fine.  I need four records back....
1st schedule line for 2 units uses delivery 123
2nd schedule line for 1 unit (partial) uses delivery 124
2nd schedule line for 1 unit (partial) uses delivery 125
3rd schedule line for 2 units uses delivery 125
Like I said, it works. Just wondering if I missed a more direct link.

As far as Db link is concern , I don’t remember exactly , but 3 years before I had written a report which see Sales order schedule lines and devilry note lines against sales order.  If you see process wise…. when ever you create PO ( production order you assign some qty using 101 movement type .. and against production order you also give sales order . When you do delivery ( run seclude run ) it delivers against that material number , its movement is 601 ...
but I remember there’s a link between these tables, VBAP,VBFA AND VBEP , LIPS ...  against every sales order you can see sales invoice ( VBRP,VBRK) and you can also see your delivery note number in document flow .
I hope this’ll give you some guide line, as right now I can not tell you the exact business process but I remember I written a report in SD 4 years before , in which they required Delivery against production order and sales order ... One more thing you also have production order reference on delivery item number. ( field :Empst ) . I think in my project they were maintaining this field .
    Thanks

  • Link between Schedule lines and delivery quantity

    Hi all,
At the item level in a sales order, can anyone tell me the link between schedule line data and delivered quantity.
Schedule line data can be found in VBEP and delivery qty can be found in LIPS. But I want the link between the two. For which partcular date in the schedule line item the delivery qty is displayed.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Amol and Rahul,
Actually I dont want the link between sale order and delivery, I want the link between schedule line dates and delivery qty.
    Hope I am clear.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Link between schedule Line Number and Delivery

Is there a link between Schedule line Number and Delivery number ?
Eg. Line item 10 with quantity 100.
has 5 schedule lines..with 5 different delivery dates.
    1 .  quanity 40
    2.   quantity 30
    3.   quantity 20
    4.   quanity  6
    5    quantity  4
For schedule line 1, 2 deliveries were created,
    one      with quantity 20
    another with quantity 15
quantity 5 is still not delivered.
also schedule lines 2,3,4 and 5 are fully delivered.
Is there any table, FM etc in SAP which will give me the link between the schedule line and delivery number ?
Total deliveries created : 6. - But which delivery corresponds to which schedule line ?
Please dont tell me to look VGBEL and VGPOS.. that will just give line item number 10.. I need to get the schedule line number.
Also, RV_SCHEDULE_CHECK_DELIVERIES --> will give me the delivered quantity against each schedule line.
My purpose is to create an ontime delivery report .
a report which list each schedule lines, and tell, how many shipments were late/ontime/early etc..
and for Late ones, how many days late has to be found.
this is where i need the delivery.
No. Of days Late = Actual GI Date - Planned GI Date.
Actual GI date is in the delivery.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thank you in advance.

  • What is the direct link between Schedule Line item and Delivery line item?

    Hi SAP SD Gurus,
The question is simple.  I would like to calculate the Open order quantity for a particular month based on the Schedule Line Date.
I am taking all the Schedule lines falling below the running date of the month and sum up that and look for the deliveries happened for that Schedule lines.
I am unable to link that Schedule line with that Delivery line item.
The only link is Schedule Line Number in VBEP table which is not available in LIPS.  I would like sum up the Schdule line Quantities and Subtract the sum of the Delivery quantities which will give me the Open orders for the particular day of the month.
Can anyone help me to link this VBEP table to LIPS table to connect the Schedule line number with the Delivery line item?
Thanks in advance for your help..
    Augustine

    Anuj,
I am aware of the Functional Modules.
I wanted to know for this Schedule Line, this is Delivery document created.
Where in SAP through Tables it is linked?  Because, I need to source the Tables to calulate the open orders by way of external report through Business Object.
The table link from VBEP to LIPS is not directly linked.  It is linked from Sales order line item level.  Because we are capturing all the Sales order Line tiems through the Delivery Status which is not equalled to C. But if there are partial deliveries against the Scheuld Line item level, we need to identify.  The only common joint should be Scheldule line number which is not available in LIPS.
If we are developing report inside SAP, we can use the said Functional Modules to capture through Structures VBEPD.  Since it is a external reporting , we need to give correct tables and the joints.  Hence I am looking for any other way to solve this.
    Thanks

  • Line Item: After reading all your links and discussions

From the links and the discussions I was referred to in a previous post, please correct me if I am wrong. I understood that with if a characteristic is going to have several values (defined in that case as "has cardinality"), then it is better to make that characteristic a line item.
It has some advantages as a result of the fact that the line item dimension has no dimension table but only SID table.
1--Does this make loading data faster Or, running queries faster?
2--I also read that "line dimension on means that this dimension becomes part of fact table", can you explain this?
3--Some of the experts said you create line item when the characteristics in the dimension is 20 or 30 % that of the fact table. Is this 20 or 30? And, are we comparing all the characteristics in all the dimensions in the Cube or just the one dimension which we want to make the line item?
4--Also, I get the 20 or 30% of the Dimension but what it being compared to in the Fact Table?
5--I didn't get the cardinality stuff well so any hints other than links will help.
6--Finally, won't this easily make the designer run out of the 13 (16-3 reserved) available dimensions?
7--If the Rule of thumb is dimension table size should be smaller than fact table, and line item dimensions makes this possible, isn't it in the same token killing the ratio of 16 dimension to 1 Fact table in a cube?
8--Is this a consideration after data has been loaded into Cubes or during the design phase of the Cube?
9--If this consideration is applicable only when there is data then how can you factor this into your design? How to wait until you are in trouble to fix the problem?
    Thanks

    HI Caud,
1] Query reading performance will be improved. As it can access only Master data table and Fact table.
Setting it as a Line Item dim also causes a b-tree index to be built instead of a bitmap index, but also embeds SID directly in the fact table, eliminating the dimension table.
2] Line item Diemsion- when ever ur Dimension table contains a single Char then it is better to join ur master data table with the Fact table. So there will be connection with SID.
3]U chooses the line item when ever there is a high cardinality. i.e if ur DIM table is 10%of Fact table then u will go with the Line item Dim.
the percentage is w.r.t the number of records.
4] its total number of records.
5]Cardinality creates indexes on the Dimension table entries and there by you would see an improvement in performance.
With Cardinality, you can assign a Dimension containing Multiple Characteristics
6] It depends based ur business requirement and the type of data that u use.
8] It is before loading into the cube.
9]it is better to design at the initial stage it self.

Hi guys. i have some problem with a link from a pdf on-line,when i click on it,the page adds a "%" at the and of the link and says "page not found" because of it.
This happens only when a load my pdf file on my server, because if i click on the link when the file is on my iPad, the page opens without problem.
    Any help please?
    thanx

the % sign is often used when there's a space in a name. HTML doesn't like spaces so it fills them with % or %20
try, on the end of that link, see if there's a space built into the page or the link when the page was made
On the web address you may be able to 'backspace' at the end and erase that space to get the address, but whomever made the page possibly put a mistake in the link

  • Support forum link button adds unnecessary square brackets and vertical line.

The post editor on this support forum has a button to insert links, giving a result [[https://support.mozilla.org/|like this]] (two sets of square brackets, with | to divide link from text) when it seems that in order to work properly it should be [https://support.mozilla.org/ like this] (one set of square brackets, space to divide link from text).

That is the correct way to refer to knowledge base articles by using their title.
Using a complete URL only needs one pair of brackets and a space as separator between the link and the title.

  • Load balancing with Serial Leased Lines & Etherdrops

This problem is a unique one.
I have 6 Internet Leased Lines of 2 Mbps each. Keeping in view of the increasing thirst for Bandwidth, I ordered Etherdrops for the ease of on the fly upgrade, as & when needed.
To my surprise, when these Etherdrops were terminated on router, there was no trafic flowing over these etherlinks. I had to forcefully put traffic on these links using PBR.
I want to use all my links i.e. 6 serial + 2 etherlinks for per packet load-balancing.
    can some1 help.
    Regards,

    Hi
are you running any routing protocols with your ISP ?
also you can have a max of 6 equal cost route in routers.
Thats the reason i feel you are unable to use the etherdrops.
Y dont u think off going on upgrading the E1s into Fiber and take them as single ethernet output or a E3 output ?

  • Metro Ethernet vs Leased line

    Guys,
I'm setting a proposal for WAN link. there will 2 option, 45 MB leased line and 100 Metro ethernet. I need to know what is the pro/cons for this 2 technology as i need to explain to the customer.
Do anybody have a link or explaination on this?
    Thanks
    Rezzo

    WAN vs Metro
    1) Future BW Expansion : Metro-E BW expansion is as very easy compared to adding leased circuits to the WAN.
    2) Service levels : Since Metro-E is a service it has better service levels than a traditional WAN link.
    3) Finally Cost: In most cases the BW cost derived per Leased Circuit to that of Metro-E Link is higher in most places.
What may make the choice of WAN more practical is the availability of WAN only and no Metro service in a area.
Plus if the customer is not at all comfortable with a shared infrastructure link like Metro-E.

  • Leased Line Redundancy

    Hi
I'm just wondering what would be the best way to implement leased line redundancy using serial connections.

I am currently using static routes on the routers.
I will attach a network diagram showing the current setup.

    Hi,
If you want to achive only active/standby configuration then configure one router as active and other one as stanby for lan traffic going out using HSRP implementation in lan side of both the routers making gateway as virtual ip of the group for lan subnet and also configure tracking along with IP SLA so in case of failover of the link automatically the standby router will be become active for lan user as tracking will decrement the pirporty of active router.

  • 500k profile after disruption and new line install...

    Hello,
    Status:
    I have an open fault logged with BT;
Phone line ok but broadband speed low, profile appears stuck at 500k.
History: sporadic BBand connection and noisy phone line followed by outright failure of both.
Engineers visited and confirmed line between street and master socket probably corroded - they put it on leg+leg to get it working while we waited for a new physical line to be installed.
Pavement was dug up, new armoured cable run from street to house, and a proper master socket fitted (NT5 ? but no inbuilt ADSL filter).
In effort to ensure low noise, ALL other sockets in the property disconnected.
Digital phone (3 handsets off a single powered base) are run off the master socket using a filter.
    Router is business hub - 2700hgv; f/w 6.1.1.48.1-enh.tm ,  h/w 2701-100589-005 .
Hub is connected to same master socket as phone (as it's the only socket now connected to the new line).
New line was installed approx 18 days ago.
Speed tests (speedtest.net) repeatedly show download of 480kbps, upload around 620kbps.
No change since new line was installed and all but the master socket decomissioned.
I use wireless to the router but also repeated tests with a Cat6 copper RJ45 cable and got same results.
Have taken all wireless devices offline and removed electrical items near phone line power supply and cable path to reduce potential noise and repeated tests.
I left the router on for two weeks and no increase in broadband speed.
I rebooted it twice this weekend to see whether it picked up a different profile - but no change.
BT speedtester repeatedly indicates a profile of 500k (full results further down).
Last year I had speeds about 512k on a DrayTek router before switching to the 2700HGV. The change to the BT hub upped the download speed to around 1Mbps, which made a huge difference.
I know I am "a long way from the exchange" but I've had 1Mbps last year and now have a new line into my property, so not much left that I can do to improve the situation.
I'd like to know what can be done to get me at least 1Mb download again.
I have an engineer visit due tomorrow but I believe that will be purely to finish putting paving slabs back over the armoured cable that's been installed (i.e. OpenReach dig team rather than line engineers).
After those slabs are done, I expect the fault will be closed but I'll still have a 500k profile and will need to raise a new fault all over again - that fault was opened 5 weeks ago.
