E1500 - Great until Firmware 1.0.02

This was a great wifi router until Linksys released firmware 1.0.02. Now, it will no longer connect at N. Only connects at G or below. Linksys also will not honor the 12 month warranty. Called for support, only to be told that I needed to pay because I was not entitled to support after 7 months of ownership. I have been a failthful Linksys user since 1997, but I think I will need to go somewhere else now.

After a firmware upgrade, it is recommended to reset the router. Please press and hold the reset button for 30-40 seconds, power cycle the network and reconfigure the router. This should resolve the issue of connectivity with the 'N' devices.
Cisco Linksys products come with a limited warranty that covers your hardware against any manufacturing defects for 1 year (90 days for refurbished product). In addition, Linksys products are eligible for Complimentary Assisted Support for 90 days to get your product up and running. The free Complimentary Assisted Support includes technical phone support and live chat. So, if you are calling within the hardware warranty period but you had the product for more than 90 days, you won't be eligible for the free technical support over the phone. However, there are certain fee based options and the complete details and limitations can be found in the document on the product CD and on the cisco  website.

    No app is required.                                               
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

  • Everything was great until I exported my Imovie (09) and then every video clip that was stabilized was suddenly shaking like crazy.

    I have a project that appears to be great until I export to either .M4A or .Mov and then everything looks like the cameraperson has had some serious seizures.  What is odd is that the stabilization works great while working on the project in Imovie.  Can anyone help?  The content was captured using a Samsung HD video camera (flash memory).

    Sorted.
    I found a post elsewhere and the suggestion was to delete the projects folder. Then launching IMovie, the software creates a new projects folder, and I moved the projects in one by one, until I found the one that crashed it.
    I suspect your solution would have been quicker however!
    I just wish IMovie was less sensitive and just told me what the problem was!!

    Restart your Mac.
    That's why you see this:
    When I try to do the updates my computer says it has ready it goes through like it is downloading them then at the end it says some of the files could not be saved to "/" files.
    After your restart your Mac, click the Apple  menu (top left in your screen) then click:  Software Update ...

    Well try resetting the router for 30 seconds in such a way that power light is blinking on the router & then do a complete network power cycle i.e., unplug the power cable from the modem & from the router & then plug the power cable to the modem first & once all the lights are solid green you could plug the power cable to the router & you will be able to go online wirelessly.

  • Works great until I try to quit the app. Hangs every single time.

    Just updated to iLife 09 specifically to take advantage of the new iPhoto features. When I go to quit the app though, a small window drops down saying that it is saving data with a button that gives you the option to finish the save at a later time. Clicking this button will successfully quit the app. If I let the save go through, once the progress bar fills up, it starts blinking and will either 1) crash the app resulting in a message from the OS, or 2) remain on screen until I force quit.
    Running the latest version of iPhoto. Has happened ever since the initial iLife 09 install. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Library is in my "Pictures" folder. I never moved it out.
    I created a new library as you suggested, entered photos, tagged names, and quit. It quit right away without even stating that it needed to save anything like it does in my main library. The actual message I get when quitting my main Library is this:
    "iPhoto is saving critical information for your photo library. This information includes recent changes such as imported photos, album updates, and ratings. If you prefer, you can save this information later."
    There is a progress bar underneath, and a button that says "Later". If I click the button, it will quit. If I let it run through the save process, the progress bar fills up and then blinks indicating that the app has locked up. I even let it sit there for hours and it never quit after the progress bar was showing that it should be done.

  • My macbook runs great until..

    so i have a 2.0ghz macbook with 2gb of ram
    if i don't have much open it runs like a champ.. super fast.. like just safari and ichat
    but if i put in a cd.. and have itunes on (playing from an external hard drive).. and a couple other programs in it slows down big time.. slightly freezing (as in showing the colored wheel and freezing for like 5 or 10 seconds).. and i understand normal slow downs but its not just that.. if i eject the cd or close everything but the small stuff again its still completely messed up.. like only ichat and safari are open again and they continue to freeze and such.. and that goes on until i restart..
    i was looking at a system monitoring widget and i can't tell anything really crazy.. processor is less than 70% all that time even when the "big stuff" was open.. and ram was never completely used.. and the temperature.. well the temperature gets hot but its not conistent enough to make me think its the temperature.. it will get really hot but still runs great
    also i ran the hardware test from the install cds.. nothing..
    could this be hardware related? my 14 days is up tomorrow so im not sure what to do :/

    Also, for the  other people that may have similar problems and are viewing this forum, definitely try this out. Listen to Jim's advice, don't use the most recent version (which is currectly 5.5.47) - instead try a slightly older one. The one I had installed was version 5.5.24.

    settings- general- reset - reset all settings
    now reconnect to wifi
    settings - wifi- click network name - enter password - join
    if issue persists backup info and restore via itunes

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and everything is fine until I try to have the printer and the Mac communicate. I have had nothing but problems since Snow Leopard.     I am glad scanning through Preview is working. Scanning through Image Capture and the Desktop Printer should also work.     I've got an Adobe InDesign CS5 ExtendScript (javascript for the search engines) that when the users do certain tasks it triggers some idle tasks. It works great most of the time. What I'm finding is that at some point the idle tasks stop and they just queue up. It doesn't seem to matter how long Adobe InDesign has been running.
    The code is constructed so that when it tries to create a new task that it checks if an existing task to do the same thing is already in the queue. If it already exists in the queue it doesn't add it again. So in that regard I'm not creating an infinate lists of tasks. But at some point it just stops processing the idle tasks in the queue, sometimes with just a single task to process.
    InDesign itself seems fine. But no more idle tasks will fire. I've checked the task manager (it is windows XP) and InDesign doesn't seem to be doing anything to prevent getting in some idle tasks.
    Any idea how I can figure out: A) what stopped it. B) How to start it back up?
