E2000 Constantly disconnects from XBOX Live

I'm  not having an NAT issue, but my e2000 is constantly disconnecting from XBOX Live. About every 3-5 minutes I get disconnected. My wireless is working perfectly, this is only an issue with XBOX Live.
I've followed all the examples on the forums here, like:
http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/Need-HELP-to-change-NAT-type-to-open-on-Linksys-E...
and
http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/Open-NAT-xbox-live-problems/td-p/337375
and I have double checked every setting. I'm not sure what is causing this issue.
I've set the MTU, unchecked UPnP, entered port forwarding range to XBOX's static IP address, and set the DMZ to my XBOX's MAC address.
So, what is causing my router to constantly disconnect?

Try the following steps:
A] With the help of Cisco Connect Software (if at all you have installed the router with the help of this software)
1] Open the software and go to the option which says "Router Settings"
2] Then click on the option which says "Advanced Settings" which will take you to the router's configuration page.
3] Then Click on wireless Tab select Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 6, 9, and 11. Click Save Settings....
B] If you haven't installed Cisco Connect then you can log on to the router's user interface using it's default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and type in 'admin' as the password leaving the username field blank. This will take you to the router's web interface and then follow steps as mentioned above to make the changes.

  • Disconnected from Xbox Live (WET610N- E4200- RVS4000)

I am pulling out my hair with this intermittent problem.  Here is my setup
    - Xbox360 with wired connection to WET610 (5GHz Wireless N, WPA2) connecting to
    - E4200 configured as Access Point (dual radio, 5GHz and 2.4GHz)
    - E4200 has wired connection to my router (RVS4000), in a bridged manner (i.e not using the WAN interface)
    - RVS4000 has other hosts connected via wired interface, in addition to a connection to the E4200
    - wired connection (of course) from RVS4000  to cable modem, connection to internet service from Cox Communications)
NOTE: the Xbox is configured with a static IP address, external DNS hosts (from Cox). That same IP address is set as the DMZ host on the router.  I also tried port forwarding directly to the Xbox. I have tried various MTU sizes settings on the router, per recommendations, currently set to auto (1500). I have also enabled WMM access mode on the WET610N and set for VIDEO. I tried QOS classification 802.1D and 802.1Q (not affect) on the WET610N
Still when viewing video streams from Netflix, I receive the following message from the Xbox (disconnected from Xbox Live). The period between service interruption does not seem to be predicatble, but is certainly less than 60 minutes, many times less than 30 minutes.
I am welcoming any and all ideas ot resolve this issue.  I can not be the only one trying to use Netflix (on Xbox) via this sort of setup, can I ?
BTW, the E4200 was selected for dual (simultaneous) radio capability, such that I can seperate other WLAN devices onto seperate radio bands. FYI, there is also a second WET610N associated with the E4200 using 5GHz Wireless N, for two desktop systems. All other devices (laptops and iTouch, iPhone, iPad) use the Wireless B/G at 2.4GHz.

hum, let me try replying again. Yes the problem is isolated to the Xbox not being able to sustain a connection when viewing streamed video from Netflix. The other WET610N, with the two desktop is not impacted. Prior to having the E4200, I did have a WAP610N in place configured to use the 2.4GHz band. The problem was also occuring with the WAP610N in place. Hence the rationale to use a dual simulataneous (2.4 / 5GHz) radio WAP.

  • SOLUTION to your HP printer going offline and/or constantly disconnecting from the network

If you are having a problem printing, scanning or faxing with any HP Printer because of it going offline and constantly disconnecting from the network, here is the fix!
I figured this all out after many unsuccessful attempts with HP Support, my Internet Service Provider and various troubleshooting tasks including reinstalling HP software over and over and over.  Well, through self teaching on the internet and 6 grueling months of research, I FINALLY figured it out.  OMG!  I am a Paramedic (not IT) and somewhat computer literate but by far no expert.  I here all of you!  Nobody seems to have the answer but I am 97% sure that I do.  Either way, please reply back and let me know that this did in fact work for you!  :-)
It doesn't matter if your printer is installed wirelessly or wired.  Don’t worry about reinstalling your software, no recycling your printers’ power or your Router/Modem.  The reason your printer is unstable on the network and continues to either go offline or disconnect from the network is NOT because the software is glitched, it’s not a firewall problem per say, it’s not a router problem, there isn’t a problem with your power cord, it’s because most networks use a “range” of IP addresses and for security purposes, it sort of “cycles” the various devices’ IP addresses to decrease the chance of an attack.  A printer is no threat but the “network” doesn’t possess human intelligence so it doesn’t know this.  Below are my step by step instructions on how to basically make your printer hold its IP address (static IP) instead of changing back and forth through a cycle therefore dropping your printer off the network or disconnecting.
Funny, if you are someone who has had items in your print cue, they won’t print, and you turn your printer off and then back on and suddenly your documents print…well, join my club.  The reason this works is because when you first turn on the printer, it starts with the same IP address before it cycles.  If you are someone who sits there for a while and suddenly your documents print without you changing anything…this is because through the IP cycle change, it hits your printers IP address and the network will allow it to print.  Not very funny, I know.  It took me forever to figure out why my printer would print sometimes but not all the time.  Since I figured this out, I can SCAN, PRINT and use all of the features of my installed HP software such as HP Solution Center, Photosmart Essentials.
On your printer, go to menu/setup/network and press OK.  Inside the network menu, print a "network configuration page" so you can see the IP address and other settings for your printer.
Now, go back to main menu on your printers’ screen.  Or you can go to your web browser and type in the IP address using the decimals too and this will take you to your printers’ web page.  Choose: setup\network and press OK.  Look for IP settings and press OK. Choose "manual" instead of "automatic". Enter the IP address there manually as well as the default gateway which you can see on the network configuration page that you printed earlier.  Note: If you manually set the printer's IP, make sure that it is outside of your router's DHCP range. Otherwise you may run into an issue with duplicate IP's on your network. (If you don’t know how to do this, write back and I will explain).  Don’t forget to click “save changes”.  Now, restart your computer and print anything you want.  :-)
A trick I often use with printers in DHCP networks:
In Printers and Faxes right click on the printer and select “properties”.  Click add a new port.  Choose standard TCP/IP port configured to the printer host name. Read the hostname from the printer's network configuration sheet.
Using my method means that you always connect to the printer even if its IP changes (which may happen with dynamic configuration). This does not jeopardize your network security.  It just tells your printer to stay put and stop traveling the IP address highway.  :-)
    This question was solved.

The DHCP range is the range of IP addresses the router hands out automatically as devices join the network.  The DHCP range is determined by the router and each brand has a range set at the factory (that can be changed by you).
Your D-link's DHCP default range is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199.  So, outside the DHCP range is .2 to .99 and .200 to .254.
Attached is a handy cheat sheet.
You can change this range by entering the router's settings page - type the router's IP address into a browser, enter the login info and navigate to the DHCP settings area (varies based on router, hunt around).
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.
    I am employed by HP

  • My mac osx 10.7.3 constantly disconnects from airport internet.

my mac osx 10.7.3 constantly disconnects from airport internet. I am able to reconnect every time but do this every 10 mins. i went to try and change channel but no airport base stations were found. i am positive it is not the router as all other devices stay connected. cant find any answers to my problem, just tons of others with the same issue!!!!

You can't discount your router just because the other devices work. The first thing I'd recommend doing is restarting the modem and router, then checking the router has the most up-to-date firmware (need to check that owners manual) and then you can check some other things like DNS settings and router channel conflicts with neighbors.
After restarting the router and double checking the firmware is up-to-date then I'd recommend checking the channel your router is on and what your neighbors use. You can download and use iStumbler, this will scan your area. If you are like most users neither you or your neighbors have changed the router channel from the default 5 or 6 channel. Look to see what channels are not being used and reset the router's channel. If that doesn't work then reset the DNS settings from the defaults your ISP uses. If you get to the point where the DNS does need to be reset here are the instructions:
    1. System preferences
    2. Network
    3. Click Advanced
    4. Click DNS tab
    5. Click + sign
    6. Add 208.67.222.222
    7. Click + sign
    8. Add 208.67.220.220
    9. Click OK.
    10. Exit System Preferences
If you want more info on the DNS please read CNET's DNS Article and MacWorld's DNS Troubleshooting articles. If all that fails then you can simply toggle the wi-fi on and off on the w-fi menu in the upper right of your screen.

  • Keep getting disconnected from Xbox 360

    Evening all
I signed up to BT Infinity around 2 months ago after having Virgin for 4-5 years. I eventually chose to leave Virgin after a month period where the Broadband was horrendously slow. I decided to go with BT Infinity as they seemed good for gaming. I play my Xbox 360 quite often and (other than the last month of my contract) never had any issues on Virgin.
The first 10 days with BT Infinity were brlliant, the Internet was quick and I didn't have any problems. Unfortunately, after 10 days I started to randomly get kicked from games, lose connection to my Xbox Live party, etc. After a lot of trouble shooting:
     - Port forwarding
     - Giving my Xbox a static address
     - Changing my Wireless channel
     - Disabling UPnP
     - Wired connection to my Xbox
was still no closer to finding the resolution. Usually after getting disconnected I'll do a connection test and will get a moderate NAT setting. I do these tests randomly and I'm constantly changing from Open to Moderate. I can only assume this is the reason for my problem. I should also mention that this doesn't only happen on one game but all games.
After having no luck, I decided to do a hard reset and see if that fixed the problem. After doing this, I was able to play with no problems for another 5-6 days before it all started again. I've now reset my router about 5 times and the same thing keeps reoccuring.
I can only assume the router (HH3 Type A) is the issue as I never had any problems with Virgin. I've just got off the phone with BT support where they did a few checks and eventually came to conclusion that my broadband/router are showing no errors so it must simply be my Xbox (even though I told them about the previous 4-5 years of no problems). I did ask BT to send me out another router to see if that was the issue but they simply refused.
I'm at a bit of a loss what to do next, I'm hoping someone on the forums has experienced a similar issue and has found a fix.
Thanks in advance for any help suggested!
    Dave

    Thanks guys.
I've filled out one of the forms above so hopefully someone from BT will get back to me.
With regards to the DSL light bradhughes, did the light only flash when you got disconnected? Everytime I look at the Modem/Router the lights all appear to be fine. I wouldn't be able to tell if it's happening when I'm disconnected though as they're in a different room to the Xbox.

  • IPhone 6 constantly disconnecting from Audi MMI

My iPhone 6 constantly (and, it appears, randomly) disconnects from the MMI system in my 2013 A6. I updated the cable to the latest version (genuine Audi) to see if this solved the issue but it continues to do so. I didn't have the problem with my iPhone 5 which I never bothered to upgrade to iOS 8, so I suspect it's an iOS 8 problem. I've tried multiple ways of connecting, phone off, connect, then switch on. Phone on, connect, MMI on etc. etc. to no avail. My current suspicion is it may be a charging issue as my phone was 100% charged this morning when I plugged it in, and everything worked fine but when I plugged in this evening (circa 45% charged) the constant disconnecting occurred again. It will connect, play a few seconds/minutes of a track, disconnect and then the process repeats.

I have the same problem with my 2014 Audi A5/iPhone 6 with the 4F0051510AD lightning cable. This cable has now been replaced with a new 4F0051510AL lightning cable which my Audi dealer has ordered so I will see if this fixes the problem. Apparently this new AL cable also transfers Album Art and Video unlike the AD cable. I don't think it is an Apple iOS issue as my iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5th Gen don't disconnect and they all have 8.1.1 installed, so seems more like a hardware issue.
I currently have the 4F0051510R 30 Pin cable with the lightning adapter and it works fine with the iPhone 6 and transfers Album Art but not video due to the adapter not supporting video transfer.
I didn't realise the 4F0051510AD lightning cable stayed connected if the phone was charged but I have just tested this and it does seem to be the case, still not ideal though!

  • Magsafe2 Power Cord constantly disconnects from MBA

What's the deal with this new power cord? There's a horrible seal from the charger to the computer and it's constantly disconnecting. This seems like a horrible engineering mistake. Is it just my cord or is this hapenning to everyone? They seriously need to fix this ASAP. ***?

Mind has done the same since new, it was a real pain at times. This AM I took a screen wipe and cleaned both halves of the connector. Just got a little black on the wipe but it made all the difference, it holds very tightly.
If I had to do it again I think I would just clean one half then try it. To me it seems like it holds too well for such a light computer; I can easily pull it straight across a flat surface with the cord now.

  • Safari 4.0.3 constantly "disconnecting" from internet

    Hi there,
I have a new iMac 24" and I am having a problem that Safari on a regular basis tells me that I am not connected to the internet. I run the Network Utility and it says I am connected and can ping outside addresses. I have PCs on the same network and they are able to connect to the internet without any problems.
    Is this a know problem?
    Thanks
    Tony

    HI Tony,
Have you tried resetting the cable modem? If that's what you are uisng... disconnect from the power source for about 20 seconds, then reconnect. Somestimes recylcing a modem can help.
You are using a network so try a different Airport channel.
Open AirPort Utility, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder on a computer using Mac OS X.
Select the device you’re setting up, and then click Manual Setup. Enter the base station password if necessary.
Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then click Wireless.
Choose a new channel from the Channel pop-up menu.
Open System Preferences/Network and click Advanced. Select the Proxies tab. Make sure none of the protcols for a proxy are selected.
    Try Open DNS
    No, not a known problem.

  • DMA2100 constantly disconnecting from router

I am in the UK.  I have an O2 Wireless Box III (wireless n) which I understand is simply a rebadged Thomson TG585n.  I have no trouble associating my DMA2100 wirelessly with the router and note that it is recognised and listed in the router settings.  However, the DMA2100 keeps disconnecting from and reconnecting to the router every few seconds.  Occasionally it will hold the connection for a bit longer but this does not last.  I have had O2 replace the router with a new one but no change.  I have tried every available channel in the router and tried disabling the router firewall.  I have moved the router closer to the DMA2100.  I have also tried selecting the option to manually select an IP address in the DMA2100 but nothing helps.
All of this happens without even setting it up to connect to the PC.  A connection to the PC can be made though and Media Centre runs ok till the connection with the router drops.  To summarise, the problem I have is not in Media Centre but with the link to the router itself.
Any ideas to help resolve this?

Tried disabling security.  Also tried WPA, WPA2 and WPA+WPA2 settings with no marked improvement.  If anything disabling security altogether results in more frequent disconnection/connection cycles.  No wireless interference I can pinpoint.  Have unplugged cordless phones and switched off mobiles etc.  A search using software on my PC reports a couple of other wireless routers in my area but none with a strong signal and all on a different channel.  The problem exists even when the router is placed right next to the DMA2100.  A full signal is shown then it just drops to no bars and 'network disconnected' is displayed before 'nectwork connected' and full bars again a few seconds later.  This just keeps repeating.  After searching deeper into this forum I found another post from someone with the same problem but there was no resolution at that time.  I'm positive it is router related but the O2 box has no other settings to tweak even when logged in as a SuperUser.

  • IPhone constantly disconnects from itunes

    Hi Everyone,
I have an 8gb iPhone which is giving me serious grief with sync'ing. When I connect up the iPhone through the USB cradle itunes will fire up and recognise the iPhone - it then starts disconnecting and reconnecting and you get pop-up windows with errors. Currently i am getting "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000001)".
I am trying to connect this to my new MacBook Air running OS X 10.5.2, itunes 7.6.2 and the latest iPhone update.
I have tried lots of things (including calling mac support), what i have done so far is:
    - standard unplugging and reconnecting everything
    - using a different cradle
    - ensuring latest patches on everything
    - software reset of the iPhone
    - hard reset of the iPhone
    - removal and complete re-install of iTunes
    - disabling of bluetooth, wireless and networking on the Air (incase it was an IP conflict)
I have tried this on a different computer (mini mac running Windows XP) and I don't have any problems at all.
I am now out of ideas! I have tried a couple of things from the various forums as well but I haven't found anything which is resolving my problem. At the moment I now have an iPhone which has nothing on it because it cannot sync.
    Anyone got any ideas????????
    Regards
    Neil
    I am now out of

I have some more information - it's not an issue with iTunes/iPhone or sync cradle. I am now getting the same problem with a USB memory stick - I was quite happily using the memory stick to transfer files between my windows laptop and the airbook and after a while it started doing exactly the same think with it constantly connecting and disconnecting. I was mounting/unmounting correctly on both machines so it's not that - in /var/log/system.log i saw loads of these errors - disk1s1: media is not present.
I have just plugged my iPhone directly into the airbook and I have the following errors in /var/log/system.log - I wonder if this is actually something to do with the last security update which caused me no end of grief trying to connect to my company network.

  • Why is my ipad2 constantly disconnecting from wifi?  We have had the ipad for 1 year with NO problems; then just this week (9-2) it has been disconnecting itself.  All other Mac products in the house (macpro, macpro air, iphones) all work fine... HELP!

Can anyone from APPLE help us?  Just recently the ipad 2 has been disconnecting itself.  WE have had NO issues for 1 year.  All other Apple products in the house are running fine from same router/wifi.  Did Apple suddenly do something to ipad that is causing this disruption??

You may think you are connected to the internet, but maybe not. Click on Safari and see if it connects.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • Time capsule wifi connectivity issues -apple tv 2 constantly disconnects from time capsule

Having ongoing issues with Time capsule wifi connectivity throughout house.
Apple TV II and PS3 losing wifi connection on a regular basis causing movies/music/gaming to be interupted.
Anyone have same issues and found a solution?

I bought a Time Capsule this weekend and was having a similar problem whereby my MacBook Pro would disconnect regularly from the wi-fi signal. Previously my MacBook Pro held connection permanently to the previous router fine. It was a pain as I couldn't leave things like SugarSync / Dropbox running as they kept disconnecting. I seem to have fixed it though by using AirPort to manually set the 2.4Ghz channel to a hard-wired value (Manual Set-up->AirPort->Wireless->Radio Channel Selection->Edit ....) rather than letting it automatically select the channel. I used iStumbler to choose a channel that was not congested in my area. I'm hazarding a guess that maybe when the signal went weak for a second, it changed the channel when set to automatic and so knocked out any connections.
    Well, it worked for me.

  • IChat 5 - I am constantly disconnected from video chats after SL install.

Before installing Snow Leopard (For me that was just plain Leopard) I had no issues of video chats messing up. Now, after the installation (note I am running iChat 5), I am having the issue of iChats just either freezing up and showing the "No data has been received in the last 10 seconds" message, or more frequently what happens is the whole program just shuts down. It throws the "Unexpectedly quit....do you want to Ignore, Relaunch, or Report" message.
Please help me with why this may be. Thank you.

    Hi,
It is possible fro the Application crash to be Router related.
I once had someone test with me who said they could crash anyone else's iChat and proceeded to crash mine with a Video Invite. It stands to reason it may also cause the Sender's end to Crash.
However this is one of thousands of people how have tested with me over the last 5 years or so.
Error messages that say "NO Data Received for the Last 10 Sec" in the Video Chat Window (Error 20 if you open Details) and in the Connection Doctor (Video menu) would point towards a possibly loss of Internet Connection.
Pauses in getting a web page loaded or Mail in taking a long time to get new Mail even if one message (the spinning whirly thing for too long) would be other clues.
Longer breaks would cause the Buddy List to Collapse and say you were disconnected.
Seeing a download pause in a Web Browser would also provide clues.
If you have a Router and a Modem powering them Off and then powering Up the modem again and waiting to allow it to re-establish Connection then the router then the computer may be one way to reset things.
