E2000 Router problems with Xbox 360

Here is my setup.....
I have 2 wireless computers and 2 wired Xbox connecting to my router
This is the issue...
One on computer I'm getting 19mbs download and 4mbs upload and the other I'm getting 6mbs download and 3mbs upload.
The Xbox, Neither of them have a good strong connection to the router, Neither of them have open NAT types and all cables running from the router the both Xbox are high performace gold connection wires.
Any Suggestions on how to fix the NAT types on both Xbox and get my download speed and upload speed on the slow computer up to the performace of the other??
Please Help!!!

I saw a similar thread but the router used was E3000. Check it out and see if it works for you as well.

My main concern is my 360 will not allow me to stay connected to live for more then two minutes of being idle and the fact i can no longer place people on the avoid players list. So if there is ANYWAY this can be solved that'd be nice

Okay then, seeing as this was just moved for no reason I'm taking that as Microsoft refuses to do anything about this problem. And as i am not the only person effected by this problem I must do something to get your guys attention.

It was moved because it was in a forum for genuine authenticity.  Your problem is not that.  Couple that with the fact that XBox question need to posed on XB means it was moved to the most logical choice  the "where is" forum

I ended up preordering two of these CE's in store, and when I went to go pick them up on release day, the store had one copy for another customer, but neither of mine came in. They said that their system says that none show as coming to the store. I am very excited for this game, and I was wondering if someone is able to help.

    Hello profeserk,
Thank you for pre-ordering from Best Buy, and thank you for being a My Best Buy member.  I am sorry to hear your store did not receive a sufficient number of copies of South Park: The Stick of Truth Collector's Edition to cover your pre-orders.

Is the Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router (WRT54G) compatible with XBOX 360's Wireless Network Adapter?

Use the LAN port and cable. That way you'll get no interference and great data transfer. Or this maybe helps. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/homenetworking/equipment.htm

    Hey kole71,
That particular model of Plantronics is compatible for PC gaming but not Xbox 360. Plantronics does have some headsets that work with 360, and I've attached a PDF of the chart found on their website. Hope that helps!

  • Problem using iPod with Xbox 360

I have always used my iPod to listen to music while I play games on my Xbox 360, until recently. My 360 no longer recognizes my iPod by name and it is just listed as something generic like external usb device and when I click on it there is no music on it. My iPod is otherwise fully functional when it is not connected to my 360 and my roomate's iPod still works fine with my 360 so i must have changed a setting or something, but I refuse to restore my iPod to factory settings and lose all my music. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm wondering if I should just go to settings, reset all settings. I'm reluctant to try this because I don't know if it will delete my music like if you restore your iPod. Any thoughts on any of this would be much appreciated.

Get this, I was fooling around and found a way to play songs from my iPod on my 360, sort of. When I click on portable device from my 360 or my iPod from my computer desktop three folders appear. Calendars, Contacts and Notes. If I drag songs from my iTunes library to any of these three folders within my iPod icon on my desktop, I can open that folder on my 360 and play the songs in it! The problem is that the sound quality is terrible and it doesn't use my iPod equalizer because things in these folders are not considered music so they are not treated like music when I click on them. In iTunes when I click on my iPod and it has a status bar showing my free space, music space, and other space on my iPod the songs that I put in the Notes folder show up in orange as taking up other space instead of music. Anyway this doesn't really solve my probem so I'm still open to suggestions and/or a number I can call for help.

  • Airport extreme connecting with xbox 360 wireless adapter problems...help!!

Has anyone linked their xbox 360 wireless adapter to an Airport Extreme? I need help! Neither Apple nor Microsoft knew how to link the two devices. If anyone has successfully been able to make this work, your help will be much appreciated. Thanks guys

Yes - Mine works no problem. I have found that I have to unplug the Xbox360 wireless adaptor and plug it back in occasionally (if the green light is on everything is fine). Are you using the correct WPA Key?

  • Time Capsule with Xbox 360 Live

    Hi,
I just bought a Time Capsule and it works perfectly except that my NAT type on Xbox Live is now set to strict instead of open. It takes forever to join a online game so it's really annoying me.
    This is my setup:
---> Modem ---> Wire from Modem to Time Capsule (in WAN port) ---> 1 wire from TC to PC and 1 wire from TC to Xbox 360
My PC is running on Windows 7 and I'm using AirPort 5.5.3.
I've tried pretty much all the tutorials I could find online, but unfortunately none of them seem to work. I've set connection sharing to 'share one public IP-address', enables NAT port mapping protocol, added the Xbox Live ports in the Port Mapping Assistant, and my Xbox is using the IP which I set in the mapping assistant.
Has anybody got an idea what I should change to get my NAT type to open? Thank you in advance.

Does your ISP allow pppoe connections?
If so you can setup the 546 in bridge mode.. just use the internal setup wizard, choose bridge, and finish the wizard. Then in TC choose internet tab and for connection type use pppoe and put in your ISP username and password.
This is perhaps the best method. But it depends on the ISP using pppoe which is common in some places and rare in others. For instance in Australia where I am, all our ISP provide pppoe, and most do pppoa as well. In UK and many places in Europe, they use pppoa, which cannot be bridged to a router. So you must bridge somewhere else or use a different technique of handling the problem.
The problem with the 546 in router mode, is that it uses cone nat. This starts to get complicated but some games depend on port forwarding of UDP protocol packets. You can indeed setup port forwarding or upnp in the speedtouch to handle this, but it still fails. There are special commands required to allow port forwarding through NAT.
    See this thread.

Although it relates to a different model on a PS3 the basic issue is identical across all the thomson modem products.. and I am very pleased to finally be able to offer a solution. I worked hard with people who actually owned the box to track down the problem and find a solution.

  • Wireless slow with Xbox 360 Madcatz adapter

I have just had Infinity installed yesterday and all is fine with my laptop and speeds, however, my sons Xbox 360 is connected via a Madcatz wireless adapter and he is experiecing lag since the conversion.
I connected the router as soon as it arrived through the post and the connection was ok then, but since the engineer converted the line to Infinity, it has now gone slow.
    Anyone got any suggestions?

I had the same problem the other day.  Xbox360 will not pass the security for WPA....I called the Linksys help desk and the guy was great...I had to change my settings for the router to be WEP with a passcode and then the Xbox360 wireless adapter would work.....When you set-up the router I'm sure you were like me and put the hightest security, which does not allow xbox360 wireless to pass through...Change to WEP with a passcode....Then it worked like a charm...

  • Problems with Xbox live & WRT120N.

Post-script: I've already read just about every thread having to do with Xbox live. None helped me at all.
Well, I just got a WRT120N router recently and I love it. It's fast, and the WiFi range is phenomenal.
Bt, Xbox live doesn't work. I just CAN'T connect. Plain and simple. I get no error message or reason,
just suggestions that don't work. I've probably reset my router/modem 20 times today. No joke.
I've got one of those Wireless N Network adapters for my 360. With my old connection, I could connect.
It was slow, and it sucked, but I could still connect. I don't know what the problem is. My laptop
picks up the internet and I ALWAYS have a full connection anywhere in the house. The wired computers work great,
What do I do? If there are any questions or suggestions for me, go on ahead. I'll do whatever it takes to get this working.

    Try this..
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box, click Save Settings once done...
    2) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
    4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your XboxIP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...

Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
    6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
    7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...

Hooked into my router(wired) i have my bluray player, and my Xbox 360; while my computer uses it wirelessly. The problem is whille on Xbox live, playing CODWAW the screen will "jump" and then flash "connection interupted" then kick me off!!! When i set up my xbox i just used the prompts it gave me on the screen. I have tried exchanging the router, called the internet provider and it tested fine. This will happen any time of day even when my computer or bluray player is not on. Is there something i should set up with the router, or my xbox?? please help, for this is very frustrating.

To make your XBOX work perfectly fine with your Router, you need to make certain changes on your router. Follow the settings below :

    2) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
    4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox , IP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
    5) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox , Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
    6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
    7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...
Now re-connect your XBOX to your Wireless Network again and i think it should work perfectly fine.

  • WRT54G Issues with Xbox 360

Okay, I got this Wireless router so that my family could get more then one computer eventually. Now we only have one computer still but we have added an Xbox 360 to our network recently. However, the version 6 that we bought is not on xbox 360 compatible router list and encounters some problems. Namely that it causes some of my friends games to be unjoinable and doesn't allow chatting with them. I need to figure out how to get this router to be able to work at full efficiency with my 360 or else I will constantly be hooking and unhooking the DSL cable and directly connecting to my modem. I'm curious if running it as a router instead of a gateway may help with this. I'm also curious if anyone has already fixed this problem. Any more data needed by you I will gladly provide. Oh, also, the ISP is Windstream.

Hey very first thing you need to be able to go Online using the DSL modem with the router & the pc.Also, the firmware should be latest then you will be able to do the wireless & advancedc wireless settings & now connect the XBOX to be connected to the router & for XBOX settings... Please click on the tab "Application and gaming" and click on sub tab "Port range forwarding" 1) On the first line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box type in 88, in end box type in 88, in protocol keep it both, in ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box. 2) On the second line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box type in 3074, in end box type in 3074, in protocol keep it both, in ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box. 3) Now save the settings 4) Once you return to the setup page, click on the tab "Administration" and disable the UPNP and save the settings. 5) Now assign the given ip address on your xbox ip address :- 192.168.1.20 subnet mask :- 255.255.255.0 default gateway :- 192.168.1.1 Please assign the dns address on the xbox primary dns :- 4.2.2.2 secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1 6) Please try to test your xbox live & you will be able to play the games on the XBOX live.
