E2500 - wireless is cutting out intermittently

Can you all explain to me why because my router is 5 months old instead of 3, i have to PAY for support when it is malfunctioning? i think that's absolutely ridiculous & a slap in the fact to your customers.
E2500 and the wireless is cutting out intermittently. I have to run the cisco software every time to fix it and do a hard reset. Firmware is up to date. Chat support informed me to get help with your techs I'd have to purchase a service plan. I don't feel I should have to pay $30-40 to fix a $100 router purchased less than 6 months ago.

How often does it kick devices off the network? Have you done any troubleshooting?
There are many reasons why you experience poor signal or connection. Your intermittent wireless connection has a relation to the kind of setup that you have in your home or office. Is the connection dropping on all wireless computers or just one?
You have mentioned, you set the router to factory defaults and re-configured it. Did you try changing the channel on the router to 1, 6, 9 or 11? There could be an interference with other wireless devices in the network (cordless phone, microwave etc.) since they work on the same frequency. Try this and see if that helps.

  • Why is the sound of my new ipad cutting out intermittently and what does Apple recommend to solve the problem in lieu of any updates?

Why is the sound of my new ipad cutting out intermittently and what does Apple recommend to solve the problem in lieu of any updates? All of a sudden without changing any settings, the audio on my NEW ipad cuts in and out on applications/ games, keypad noise and lock sounds. The rocker button only seems to work while the sound is intermittently being heard before, after a few seconds of noise not doing anything when sound goes off.
This is highly frustrating as I've noticed others posting about such issues as far back as April. Anybody had the same thing happen to them? Is this likely software (ios6) or hardware issue? What are the solutions Apple???

Apple has no physical stores of their own in Dubai, so unless you mean that you purchased from the online Apple Store for the UAE, you purchased from a dealer, who may or may not have been authorized. You can check the expiration date of the warranty on your iPad yourself by entering in the serial number here:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
If it does indeed show the warranty has expired, then what you need to do from here will depend on who you purchased the iPad from and when you really did purchase it. Perhaps you actually purchased it in August and are just misremembering? Check your receipt. If you confirm that you did purchase within the last calendar year, tell us exactly where you got it and we can probably offer advice.
    Regards.

  • Wireless Cutting Out Intermittently-- fine on reboot.

Problem with my Macbook... it's running OSX 10.4.9
Frequently when using my Macbook, the wireless internet will randomly cut out. Not when I'm doing anything different than usual, it'll just stop working, despite saying that the signal is at full strength and is still connected to our wireless.
It's not a problem with our ISP since no one else in the house ever has this problem... and upon reboot, everything functions normally again, the internet works just fine. (For a few hours, tops... until I have to reboot YET AGAIN...)
HELP, I'm sick of rebooting my computer once every few hours for the sake of retaining my internet

SInce this is a Tiger problem, I suggest reposting in the appropriate Tiger forum. WiFi on Leopard is very different from that on Tiger.

  • Wireless Router cuts out at the same time every day.

I'm having an issue with my WRT160N router.  I'm noticing that my internet connection cuts out for about 5 minutes every day in between 5:30-7:30 pm.  Without fail, every single day, I can count on it going out for about 5 minutes during this time.  The desktop, which is wired, remains working during this time.  I'm at my wits end here, since I'm an online student, and this is my best time to schedule quizzes and exams.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Is your network is secured?
If the network is not secured than put some security on the router or else if the network is already secured then try to increase the security level by WPA or WPA2.
Also change the network name to some unique name.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box.
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select TKIP...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key.
NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...

  • Wireless Speakers Cutting Out with Extreme

Hi - Connected up my Audioengine A2 speakers to my Airport Extreme so I could play my iTunes library around my dinning room, but the connection seems to drop out intermittently!
It works fine initially, all set up correctly on Airport / iTunes, I even use my Touch as a remote but it keeps cutting out like there is a connection issue.
Have tested the speakers on a wired source with no problems so it suggests there is an Airport Extreme problem!
    Anyone had a similar issue?
    Cheers John

I cant see how. The only devices near the Extreme or the speakers is the 2 way power adaptor which the Extreme and the A2 speakers are plugged into.
I checked the connections which all seem fine!
    Thanks for you reply anyway.

  • Wireless keeps cutting out on multiple networks

I have a mac book that is about 2 years old ruing leopard and has always worked fine. recently though, the wireless has been cutting out all the time, even when I am about 2 feet from the router and my friends imac still has full bars. It also has this problem on other wireless networks that until now always worked perfectly. I did a clean install of osx and installed all of the upgrades. T did just get a new battery installed, but I cant see how that would make a difference. Help!
    Thanks in Advance,
    Matt

Well, if the problem occurred instantly after your reformatted and installed all the updates, this might be the key. I'm sorry to say it, but I would try back tracking through the updates first. If you get no results from that, then I would reinstall the OS.

  • Why does my mini display port to hdmi adapter cut out intermittently?

I have a MacBook Air 2012. Using a bestbuy mini display port to hdmi adapter connecting to a sony led tv.  The picture and sound transmits to the tv, but the signal would cut out after 10-15 seconds and it would last about 3-5 seconds and then the picture would come back again.

to me something happened similar to me but after removing the connector and put it back was solved, and now to use it with my TV I have to make sure both are well connected to both the Mac and plug the HDMI cable and adapter tv .
I hope that solves your problems resolved as mine
    Blessings.
    Bendiciones.

  • Airport cutting out intermittently for short time

    G4 Quicksilver running 10.4.11
After several years trouble free operation Airport on my wife's G4 has suddenly started cutting out and then coming back in. Sometimes it is off for a few seconds, sometimes for a few minutes. Restarting didn't cure the problem.
When I get the chance to get to the machine I will reseat the card and check the aerial but the fact that there are four bars showing steady all the time when it is on makes me think the cause is likely to be something else.
Any ideas where to start, please?
    Michael

As there has been no response here and as there appears to be more Airport discussion in the Tiger forum I have started a thread with updated information at:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2265051&tstart=0
Perhaps I could ask anybody with ideas to contribute to do so in that thread.

  • The bluetooth connection to my wireless keyoard, magic mouse, AND wifi connection all cut out intermittently

I bought my imac in late november, and for the last two months I've been plagued by connection problems to everything, any help/solutions please? I've looked around and a lot of people have complained about software problems with Lion, could it be anything to do with that?

    Hello:
I suggest you reset the SMC and see if that helps.
Also, I would make the mouse a favorite.

  • Wireless keeps cutting out

I have a silver G4 tower (7 years old). I use the Airport to access wireless internet in my home. Lately the signal has been cutting in and out. It's not due to the presence of the signal. My powerbook continues to access it fine. Can it be that the Airport card is giving out? Could there be some dust or something interfering with a connection inside the box? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Why not just get an airport extreme wireless PCI card, or better yet. If you have a USB 2.0 card, get a wireless-G or N USB adapter like I have. I have the following adapter:
Netgear wireless-G WG112V2 USB wireless adapter, but be FOREWARNED... if its connected into the USB 1.1 port, the signal will be weak.

  • Apple TV flickers, sound cuts out intermittently for short instances

I use airplay to watch internet TV on my Flatscreen (panasonic viera) via Apple TV.  From when I can remember it's always having sound cut in and out quite frequently and even somtimes flickers to a scrambled screen.   I checked my serial number to see if mine was the recall one but it's not.  I remember seeing something about changing your router settings or something.  Anyone have any solutions or suggestions?  Thanks

    Hello, Schaisson.
Thank you for the question.  I have experienced this issue as well recently.  Try the troubleshooting steps in the attached article.  However, what worked for me was power cycling the Apple TV by unplugging the power cable and plugging it back in.

  • Airport wireless connectivity cutting out

For the last couple of months the Airport icon indicates it is still connected and that the signal is full strength, but pages simply do not load.  I have to physically turn the Airport off and then back on for pages to load.  This happens every 2-5 minutes.  My Airport/ wireless functionality has worked perfectly up until this point.
Not an ISP issue as other devices in the house work just fine (TV, MacBook, iPad, iPhones, work laptop, etc).  Just the iMac with this issue.
From memory, started getting a Citrix error message coming up just prior to the Airport issue, so I deleted Citrix from my system (as didn't think I needed it??) ... could the two things be connected?
Have plugged in an ethernet cable to complete all the recent security updates that were pending, but updates haven't made any difference.  Ethernet cable great, but not ideal so not a long term solution.
Any thoughts out there pretty please?

This is really weird - it's the exact same thing with mine !!!

Wonder if it's a bug in the software / firmware ?!?

  • WiFi Cutting Out Intermittently

    Hi there,
We have a BT Home Hub 2.0 and for some time now we've had an issue with the WiFi.  The usual sequence of events is:
    1. Everything is working fine
    2. Everyone's WiFi will suddenly disconnect
    3. Someone goes and resets the router
    4. Everything's fine again.
Not a major problme if it only happened occasionally, but as I write this it's happened about eight times already this morning and I'd really like to find a way of fixing it.  The fact that it's everyone's WiFi rather than just one person's suggests that it's a fault with the router - there shouldn't be any signal problems as we're all within a few metres of it, and I don't think it's a problem with the ADSL link itself since when we do reset the router it usually boots back up fine straight away.
Any thoughts as to things I could try?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Thanks - will give that a try now. I take it I'll need to change the wireless channel on the router itself
    Yes

  • T1i (500D) LCD cuts out intermittently

    Hi,
In a nutshell, my LCD doesn't work more than 90% of the time. I was on a trip to the mountains and half way through the shutter started firing at random. I pulled the battery and put a fresh one in later that evening. It seemed to come on intermittently, and the camera seemed to take pictures fine (which it did). The next day the LCD came on for a while (just in time to be able to use the timer for a group shot) and then promptly stopped working again. It has since come on a few times, but rarely. At one point, it seemed I could bump the camera on my wrist to get it to come back on, but it hasn't been able to do anything since.
    Things it is not:
Lens cap is off (everyone seems to ask that question first, not that is has anything to do with the LCD)
Camera is on (camera will still take pics fine - I just have to use values seen at the bottom of the viewfinder)
"Disp" and/or "Menu" button has not been used to turn off the display
Nothing in the setup menu has been changed to disable the LCD
I'm assuming some kind of intermittent connection that powers the LCD. The camera was not bashed, bumped or abused as it was over my neck/arm the whole day. It was humid, but the camera seemed dry. Everything else works as expected, just the LCD.
    Help?

Anyone have any clue? It still does not work most of the time.
It almost seems the dimming sensor is being falsely triggered. The sensor where the screen turns off as soon as you put your face to the view finder.
I was just paying with it again, and the screen seems to work fine if the camera has been left for a length of time, bus shortly after being on for a few minutes, it goes black.
You've tried a different battery? That last symptom sounds almost as though the voltage maintained by the battery is only marginally able to light the display.

  • Wireless connection cutting out

I am using my MacBook with a Linsys G-series wireless router.
My connection keeps on disconnecting. I have full reception, 5 bars, then, without moving, it just disconnects. I can easy, reselect the network and it will reconnect.
    anyidead how to fix?
    what could be wrong?
confused since I am only about 25 feet from the router and I can eve SEE it.

You might checking with Linksys and see if you have the latest firmware for your router. You can also change your wireless setting on your computer for connecting from Automatic to Preferred. If your router has a option to switch to 802.11B only try that.
