E3000 cannot connect to wireless IP Camera

I am trying to connect 2 wireless IP cameras to my network with a Cisco E3000 router. One is a DLink DCS-920 and the other is Foscam FI8918W. I set up both cameras over ethernet and enter the router stettings. When I disconnect the eternet I do not get wireless connectivity. When I run Cisco Connect software / Computers and Other Devices / Other Wireless Devices, it does not find the cameras.
How do I connect to the cameras?
Thanks

After fiddling with various settings, I now can connect to the webcams locally through my browser. I cannot get the DLink DCS-920 to upload via FTP. The Foscam is not listed in the router's DHCP Client list, but I can see it in my browser.
Any thoughts?
My DLink webcam worked fine with a Netgear router.

I cannot use the software.. so you need to figure out where the problem is..
But let me suggest.. the Mac is not the issue and likely the info from Sony is also up the creek.. they make PC's after all.
It is far more likely the camera is having issues with the wireless network.
Do you know you have a connection to the home network on the camera.. ?? You have an IP address and some internet or local access at least?
How you will discover those things is by fiddling.. but if you can tell me what wireless AP you are using that will help.

  • Hp officejet pro 8610 | does not print and cannot connect it wireless

Just bought the following printer: Officejet Pro 8610. Installed it with the cd. Installation on the printer goes well, connected to network, strong reception. 1) Cannot make a wireless connection from laptop to printer. Followed all the steps, uninstalled and reinstalled with software from hp site 7 hours worth. Router on/off, firewall on/off etc. 2) Installed not wireless but with a usb cable, this can be done however scanner and copier work but no pinting. Testprint also doesn't work, the internal test print does. Scan doctor said that it was a software problem that could not be solved by said doctor and to uninstall and reinstall the software. Freaking sick of doing that as it does not work. Also installed the basic driver to see if this works, same story, no printing. Laptop is from 2007 with windows XP. I really need to print for work and cannot spend another full day troubleshooting this monster. Either wireless or with usb cable, i dont care....... Please help!!! Thank you Mar

  • Cannot connect to wireless network from a new HP Officejet Pro 6830

Just purchased a HP Officejet Pro 6830 wireless printer.
Set it up connecting my Dell PC and it initially worked.
    THEN something happened.
ICON on screen on printer indicates "NO WIRELESS NETWORK FOUND"
Tried rebooting the Cable modem, then the router, then the printer and then the PC.
    Still did not work.
    What should I do?
    Thank you for any help.

Then after a reboot, I wouldn't be able to connect to wireless network anymore.
I tried "netcfg Wireless_Archer(my wireless profile's name)" as usual, it replied:
    [root@mzws log]# netcfg Wireless_Archer

    > WPA Authentication/Association Failed
    [FAIL]
Next I tried to bing the network up manually. I followed the "Wireless Setup" and "WPA supplicant" wiki, then I get a timed out problem:
    [root@mzws ~]# ifconfig wlan0 up

So what's the problem here? I searched the forum and google, and it seemed that I connected to a wrong router(for sometimes I only one "carrier lost" then "timed out"), but how was that happened? Things worked quite well before the upgrading as well as in my Windows environment.
Any reply would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Thanks Proofrific, but I believe it's not, for the DHCP server is a built-in module in my wireless router.
I am now able to connect to my wireless network now. And it seems to be a little kernel bug as I discovered a thread(sorry but I forgot which one) in the forum discussing a similar problem.... Somebody in that post suggested a work-around to change the channel, as their default setting is channel 13 or 12.
I tried and it did work! Just simply open your router's setting page and then change the channel from auto to 3(in my case), and netcfg worked well now. For the manual configuration, I suppose the "iwconfig wlan0 channel 3" should be issued.
Thanks everyone in the forum for providing their solutions!

  • Connecting a wireless nanny cam to iMac - no RCA connection

I have just migrated from the PC to Mac world. I have a wireless nanny cam that I use to record to my PC (like a DVR) by installing in my PC a DVR/PCI card that has RCA input jacks. A receiver would connect into the RCA jacks and thus receive the wireless camera signal. I now use an iMac
Obviously I can't install a PCI card on my iMac and it doesn't have RCA inputs either, so how would I receive a signal on my iMac from a wireless camera? It is not a camera that has its own IP address. I thought that since the latest iMacs are able to pick up wireless router signals for internet connectivity, that it could also be configured for a wireless camera that transmits a signal. Do I have any hope? FYI, the software used to manage the camera recordings is called Pico 2000.

You can use El Gato's EyeTV 250.
It has RCA input so you can hook up your Nanny Cam receiver and record to your HD.
Plus, you can connect your cable TV and watch and record shows on the iMac.

  • I took my laptop on vacation and it says the computer cannot find the time capsule cannot connection; the wireless still works.  How do I get it to reconnect

I had my MacBook Pro running Mt Lion OS X 10.8.3 disconnected from my Time Capsule, gen4 for a month.  Upon returning, I get the message that my computer cannot connect to the Time Capsule for backup.  It does however, pick up the wireless internet.  How do I reconnect for backup?

Just pretend you are setting it up for the first time, and follow the directions here:

  • I cannot connect to wireless from Ipad when I could 2 days ago.  Still can connect to same wireless from other PC.  What settings do I need to check?

I recently cannot connect to my neighbors wireless with my Ipad.  I can connect with my PC.  I feel like I have shanged a setting by accident but do not know where to start to correct this.  I have the password to the account.

Are you receiving the signal? Do you see the white "fan" WiFi indicator in the upper left corner of the iPad screen?
Go to Settings>WiFi> and see if the network name is showing on the iPad. If the name is showing, you can try this ...
Tap on the network name, then tap on the blue arrow next to the network name and then tap Forget this Network. Restart your iPad then go to the settings again, tap WiFi - tap on the network name - enter the password and see if you can connect again.
Normally I would suggest unplugging the router for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again, but this is your neighbor's WiFi? Does he know you are using his WiFi access? If so, what a great guy!
Here is how to restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • IMac 27": Windows 7 cannot connect to wireless internet

I just installed Windows 7 on my iMac (new model 2011) on another partition, so I now have both OS X and Windows 7, and I cannot connect to my Wireless Network in Windows 7, but I can in OS X.
I've tried basically everything and looked in millions of threads to find a sollution - but I can't. I'm using my laptop now (Windows XP) and it's connecting fine.
    I've tried:
    - Resetting the router
    - Changing the security type from WPA2/TKIP to none
    - Updating the driver (In Windows it says it's and Atheros AR938x Wireless Lan Card)
    - Update all Windows
    What can I do?
    Gear:
    Router: Netgear CG 2000
iMac 27 (New model 2011 or what it's called. It a year old)
I've read several times that Windows 7 has problems with connection, but the threads are like 2 years old, so someone must have come up with a sollution?
    Christian

    I've done that.
I've installed Windows 7 with Bootcamp and everything is installed correctly if I look in "Device Manager". There are no problems - except that I cannot join the wireless network.
If I plug a cable in it works fine.

  • Windows XP cannot connect to wireless HP6980

I replaced my hard drive and can connect wirelessly to the internet but my computer cannot connect to my printer.  I followed instructions to enter the IP address in the browser and found my printer but could not configure it.  Now when I put in the IP address it does not recognize the address.  I disabled windows firewall but this did not help.  I have the WEP Key and the system sees the gateway and mask but still can't find the printer.

Did you install the HP software from here?
Do not use WEP, it is not secure (can be broken in about 10 minutes with freeware) and can also cause connection problems. Change to WPA or WPA2 with a passphrase you create - use 13+characters, numbers and letters, upper and lower case.

  • Two Issues: Cannot connect to wireless networks; Cannot load certain sites

    Hey everybody,
    I have a MacBook Pro 15".
In just the past week, I've stumbled upon two sudden problems with my network/internet connectivity.
First, I can no longer connect to wireless networks, be it an infrastructure point or computer-to-computer ad-hoc networks. I'm not really sure why. I installed the latest AirPort Update (4.2.3, according to System Profiler). I also recently installed both iStumbler and KisMac v.21. When I started having issues, I thought that maybe one of these two programs might be the culprit, so I uninstalled both of them but I still have the same problem.
Second, I've had issues with not being able to connect to certain websites. I use both Safari and BonEcho as my browsers. The specific sites seem random:
    www.weffriddles.com
    www.macrumors.com
    images.google.com
    sports.yahoo.com
    finance.yahoo.com
    to list a few.
If you need any diagnostic information, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can provide!
    Tommy H.
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   browsers: Safari, BonEcho/ Airport Driver Version: 4.2.3

If you are trying to connect to a third-party router using WPA or WEP, there is a good chance that your Airport card was broken by Apple's 2007-02 Airport Update. There is no fix, and for many of us, our Macbooks and Macbook Pros are useless for wireless connections until Apple fixes the issue. At this point, Apple seems to be denying that there even is an issue, so we may all be in for a long wait indeed.
