E3000 repeater bridge or client bridge...
Hi,
Who knows the best version (DD-WRT or other) to repeat the wireless signal with a E3000?
At worst, a client bridge mode could be sufficient for my needs...
Thanks,
I believe there is only one version for the e3000. What I mean is that there aren't multiple kinds (mini,VPN,etc). I think setting it to repeater bridge mode would get the job done: http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge I would just follow the wiki. I'm pretty sure the version that they use has support for repeater bridge mode. Here's the link if you don't already have it. http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E3000 I just googled all this stuff so I can't really help you out any further. Universal wireless repeater mode sounds good too. Here's the main article http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linking_Routers
I don't work for Cisco. I'm just here to help.

Suggestions on a wireless client bridge unit running MIMO 5ghz
I have replaced my main router WRT300N running dd-wrt with the a stock E4200 and an old WRT54G aslo running dd-wrt configured for wireless client bridge. Now that I'm learning more about 802.11N, I was wondering what client can I use to achieve 5ghz simultaneously radio transmission since my current setup cannot do this in the 5ghz band. Can the E3000 be ran in wireless client bridge mode, if not what product can provide this? On the other thought am I understanding MIMO?
Old setup: 802.11G 2.4ghz
WRT54G ))) ((( WRT300N ->ISP
Current Setup: 802.11N 2.4ghz MIMO?
WRT300N ))) ((( E4200 ->ISP
Wanted Setup: 802.11N 5ghz MIMO
??????? ))) ((( E4200 ->ISP
Thanks,There are various router models available which works on 5GHz frequency (E300, E3200 etc.). However, its not sure whether the third party firmware (dd-wrt) would be compatible with it or not?
Secondly, warranty of your product becomes void if you update any third party firmware on your product. Anything goes wrong with the product, it is not eligible for the replacement. -
How to make my WRT54G see my WRT110 when my WRT54G is a client Bridge
How to make my WRT54G see my WRT110 when my WRT54G is a client Bridge?
It does not see any wireless signals in the status
I am using DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) std-nokaid with the WRT54GYou should post this question on the DD-WRT forum since it is their firmware.

Got a Host DSL/router (Netopia) which came with my DSL provider. I wish to setup my WRT150 as a Client Bridge. Which WRT150 settings are required? Should I do this by installing DD-WRT firmware first? see link: http://www.coderetard.com/2008/05/30/installing-dd-wrt-firmware-on-a-linksys-wrt150n-wireless-router/
I am not sure that DD-WRT will work or not ..... however it will void the warrenty for the router .....
however you can use following settings .....
Access the setup page of the router by launching an
Browser and type on the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. When
it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field
empty and provide password as "admin" (Without quotes)
click on ok.
On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be
on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings
button.
Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".
- Click on enable
Click Clone & click save settings
Check WAN Ip on Status page of router ....
If getting Valid Ip .... try going online
If you are getting Ip - 192.168.1.X ...change the LAN Ip to 192.168.2.1 ....Power cycle for 3-4 minutes ...
Try going online
If still not working ...use Internet Connection type as PPPOE .... Use Username & Password provided by Service Provider ....
Click save settings....
Look for WAN IP address again under status page ... -
[SOLVED] Trouble Connecting to a DD-WRT Client Bridge
I've followed the instructions here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Client_Bridged to set up a client bridge. I've verified that this works. I can connect to it (and use the internet) from one Arch desktop and a Windows laptop.
My problem is that my Arch laptop will not connect to the slave router in the client bridge setup. I'm using NetworkManager on both the Arch desktop and the Arch laptop. When I attempt to connect to the bridge on my laptop I get this output in journalctl:

As far as I know the only software difference between the desktop and the laptop is that the laptop is running wmii while the desktop is running the full gnome desktop. I've also tried this with two different routers with the same results.
lspci shows this ehternet adapter on the laptop:
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM57765 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe (rev 10)
What other information might be needed?

As both of you suggested, I disabled ipv6 (using kernel parameters as suggested in the wiki) and the connection now works and the log no longer complains of dhcpcd already being running.
Thanks for this, I really appreciate it. -
Spectrum24 Client Bridge to LWAPP AP isnt working
We have several GE MAC5000 EKG Carts that use a Spectrum24 Client Bridge (CB-1000-0000) that has a Symbol PCMCIA 802.11b card in it. These work fine with our autonomous APs but will not work on our new LWAPP wireless network. It does associate but if I look at the controller at the details of the client it shows an IP address of 0.0.0.0. These are statically assigned and I do not require DHCP for the WLAN it is associating to. Anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks.
Are the CB-1000's showing up in the Client Exclusion List.
Are your LWAPP AP's using the same IP Scheme as the Autonomous AP's?
I have had problems with other Symbol gear (wireless barcode scanners) and Zebra wireless printers when trying to use static addresses once AP's were converted to LWAPP - I would get a similar situation that you are describing.
I ended up using DHCP but putting in a reservation for those devices with the IP address I wanted to use. -
A local high school lab teacher purchased a WRT300N to connect his wireless lab to the school network. I want to stop it from distributing IP addresses and act as a client bridge instead. I want the wireless clients to get an IP address from the district DHCP server. Is this possible?
It sounds like you want the WRT300N to be converted to a WAP (wireless access point). This is possible, assuming that your district DHCP server will be handing out addresses that use the 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. The WRT300N was designed to be a home router, so all its addresses must use this subnet mask.
To convert the WRT300N to a WAP, do the following:
Power down the WRT300N and disconnect it from everything.
Connect one computer, by wire, to any numbered LAN port (not the Internet port) on the WRT300N.
Login to the WRT300N.
Set the "Local IP Address" to a fixed LAN IP address. You can use any address that will be recognized by the district DHCP router as a fixed LAN IP address.
Set the "DHCP server" to "disabled".
Save your settings.
Exit your browser.
Power down the WRT300N and your computer.
Using an ethernet cable, connect any LAN port from the district router to any numbered LAN port on the WRT300N. Do not use the "Internet" port on the WRT300N. Power up your system.
The district router will control your router settings (firewall, DHCP server, port forwarding, etc.). The WRT300N will only control your wireless settings. Optionally, you can use the WRT300N's LAN ports to connect additional wired devices to your network. -

You can buy the retail disk at online resellers or the Apple Store for $29. It'll be at version 10.6.3 or .4; you can then update to the latest via Software Update to 10.6.8.
In the meantime, you might want to consider to also contact Adobe; ask about the compatibility and if they want to see the report. -
Wireless Root Bridge - Non Root Bridge
I've been reading a lot about bridge configuration for wireless AP but i cannot make it work the following scenario:
PC -- ethernet port --> Non-Root-Bridge -----------> Root Bridge ---------> Switch
vlan111 native 18 - vlan111 native 18 - vlan111 vlan native 18,111
Its pinging fine between switch and Non-Root. But when i put vlan111 on Non-Root the two AP's stop responding to the network.
What am i doing wrong? Plz i need some help!! I have two 1242.

Bridging wireless AP - bridge-utils
Hi there,
Situation:
1. Free AP next to my home, signal weak, not everywhere accessable.
2. Laptop with wireless interface + Wireless USB-Dongle (good antenna, extended range) + Siemens SE361 WLAN Router
3. I connect with my USB-Dongle to the Free AP, I have set a wireless network with SE361 and connect to it with the internal wireless card of my laptop
This so far worked, but now I want to have internet access at the SE361-Network and I think I need to bridge both networks. I tried with bridge-utils but brctl addbr <mybridge> <mywlanif> gives me an error (can't add wlan0 to bridge br0: Operation not supported) so I think I can only bridge ethernet networks with it (adding eth0 instead of wlan0 works).
On google I only found stuff about a hardware bridge or how to bridge ethernet networks.
Now I need some help how I can get this working, cau you help me please?
Is bridging even the right thing to do in this case or can I forward the internetconection somehow else? Here is a simple config example
Root Non-Root
R(config)#dot11 ssid test n-R(config)#dot11 ssid test
#authentication open n-R(config)#authentication open
#infrastructure-ssid n-R(config)#infrastructure-ssid
#exit #exit
R(config)#int d0 n-R(config)#int d0
# ssid test #ssid test
#statio-role root bridge wireless-client #station-role non-root bridge wireless-client
#no shut #no shut
For BVI interfaces you can assign either static or dynamic IP address
But it is highly recommended to have static ip for better management. -

How To import collections from Bridge cs6 To Bridge CC
How To import collection from Bridge cs6 To Bridge CC??
thxHow To import collection from Bridge cs6 To Bridge CC??
A collection is a bunch of aliases to the original files in their original place. If you have upgraded to CC on the same machine you can use the same collection, on a different machine it will possible not find the correct location again.
On a Mac the path for the saved collections is : User / library/ application Support / Adobe/ BridgeCS6 / collections. Inhere are the saved collections showing the names you gave them. You can copy these collection files to the same location in Bridge CC.
If you have a different machine you best first choose the collection and add a keyword with the name of the collection to all the files in this particular collection so you can use the find command to easily recreate the collection on your new machine.
Maybe someone with more knowledge of Windows can show you the correct path but it should be something similar as on a Mac.
