E3000 to PS3 problems

I recently purchased an E3000. I am trying to transfer files to my PS3 wirelessly. I have tried using three different media servers (built-in Twonky, Windows Media, PS3 Media Server) all with the exact same result. At some point during the transfer the PS3 gives me a 80030928 error. Before the E3000 I had a Belkin router that tranfered without a problem and I can transfer wired without a problem. This leads me to believe that it is a settings issue. What settings should I try on the E3000?

I'm having the same problem, but it is not covered in the link you provided.
I can connect my PS3 to the E3000 and the PS3 sees my media server and the content I have loaded on the external USB hard drive that is attached to the E3000. The problem is once I make a selection, such as an mp3 song, the PS3 just sits there waiting like it can't download the file. I did not have this problem with my previous router, WRT600N.
I tested the connection by trying to download a PS3 update file, and it failed during the download.
One other thing, the PS3 sees my E3000 connection as 100% strength!

  • E3000 QoS performance problem

I am trying to test and document the performance of QoS. I have an E3000 with firmware version 1.0.04.
I have tried various traffic generators (like Netperf), and settled on D-ITG; It can send, receive, and report on many different traffic streams.
I have set up QoS rules on the E3000: port 12865 Low priority, port 12875 High priority. The traffic flow is from computers on my LAN, through the internet port on the router to a WAN addressed computer in the same room.
Cisco documentation states that QoS works only on "upstream" traffic, hence the particular traffic flow.
My problem is that the QoS appear not to prioritise when enabled.
Stream 1 on port 12865 achieves ~45Mbps, stream 2 on a seperate computer simultaneously on port 12875 achieves ~45Mbps also.
I have tried both TCP and UDP traffic.
Can anyone suggest why? Has anyone else found issues with QoS?

Do you have a similar set up? Can you tell me how you have approached the problem? Have you got any different results?

  • E3000 video streaming problem

Hello, I just bought the E3000 router and I tried to set up a home network. I have a WD TV Live hooked up with a 150 Mbps wireless adapter (Airties 2310),when I try to stream 1080p (mkv, 10557 Kbps) video from my desktop which is connected by gigabit ethernet to the router there is a lot of stucking and skipping in the video. But if I connect the WD TV Live via ethernet the video plays perfectly even though it has lower bandwidth, but I just connected ethernet for testing, I cannot use it regularly. The WD TV is located in the next room to the router(about 15 meters of distance). Please help me solve this problem.

The wireless strength is great it looks like this:
    http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/9248/sam0906i.jpg
it can be 3 bars occasionally. Sorry for the delay of my reply I wasn't home for a while. Some body said that this might be caused by the network adapter, and that I should buy a 300 mbps one because mine doesn't fully support wireless n. I dont know if that is right. I tried to transfer data through the same desktop to a laptop with intel wifi link 5100, the speed was between 9 MB/s and 12 MB/s (the network status on the laptop showed 72 mbps but it supports 300 mbps). Maybe the router is faulty?

  • E3000 LAN/CONNECTIONSHARING problems..really need help.

I couldn't find this exact problem being discussed here, so sorry if this has been covered.  I have multiple machines all running Windows 7 Home Premium, a couple are 64b, the others are 32b.  For some odd reason I cannot get all of them to see each other on the LAN.  They all will connect up to the E3000, however they will not/can not find one another on the LAN to achieve file sharing.  I'm a long time ROUTER user so I know all of the basics of what I need to do to share....ie...all computers have same subnet mask, they are all in the same workgroup...etc...etc.  Technically, I'm having the most trouble with this blasted Sony VPCL116FX that has a Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adaptor in it.  I have the most up to date driver installed for it..so I don't know.  Also, I should note that I was able to successfully ping two computers that I was using to troubleshoot the problem with.  I just cannot get them to see one another within W7.  Heck, I cannot even get them to recognize that one/or the other has been set up with a "Homegroup".  The Homegroup option has always been the easiest way (for me) to get computers to recognize each other on a LAN, but now however, it's not happening.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks for your time.

UPDATE:  This is an update to my original post.  I decided to go back and re-install the router on the LAN and this time NOT use the quickKEY function and just set them up manually.  It worked.  So, my verdict is that something in the preparation of the quick key by the router software got messed up somehow because by setting it up manually it now functions properly with connections on all machines.  I hope this helps someone out there in Linksys land.
    The thread is dead/answered.

  • WRT54GS Router and NAT 3 PS3 Problems

Ok. I need a lot of help. And yes. I used the search option prior to posting this topic and none of it answered my questions. I did try a few tips I saw firsthand at these topics but it still didn't solve my Nat 3 Problem. Heres my ps3s setup basically. Set the MTU to 1365, in the firewall settings unchecked Block Anonymous Internet Requests, In the Applications and Gaming tab I put my PS3s IP address in the DMZ. Tested my connection on my PS3 and the same NAT 3. I want to **bleep** a brick now because I have been frustrated by this. Googling didn't help. So I am hoping you guys can help me figure this out. FYI: I am changing this setting through the LAN connected from my PC to the router and I have my PS3 wired to the router also. With this NAT 3 problem my downloads are slow as hell and although I haven't tested online gaming yet this will be a huge factor in the lag.

Try forwarding ports TCP: 80, 443, 5223 UDP: 3478, 3479, 3658 on the rotuer setup page ... See if it works ...

  • WRT 610N - PS3 problem

    HI!
I`m having a problem with this. I have an acer 5738ZG laptop (I guess it can`t handle signal over the 5GHz frequens), and a PS3.
When i have the signal set to mix , b/g, or just g, the speed on the PS3 is terrible. But when I set it at b, its "great".
Any reason for this? I would like to take advantage of the n-net on my pc. but then the speed on the PS3 is useless.
    Plaease help.
    Thanks!

What is the model no of the Wireless adapter you are using for PS3...?
If you want to take full advantage of the N router then, you must use the N Adapter on the computers/devices.

  • WRT150N / PS3 Problem

Hi, my name's Ryan. I was wondering if anyone can help me and/or has had this problem in the past. I bought a PS3 last August and I have it in my room, my computer is downstairs so there's really no way I could set it up next to it, so I decided to have a wireless connection to my router. My problem over the last few months has been my PS3 getting error upon error and logs me out (around every 25 minutes), I've tried every method with my Linksys WRT150N Wireless-N router to improve the connection such as forwarding ports, setting a static ip, etc but nothing seems to work. Some of my family members have cordless phones which I know does interfere with the internet but I have tried to correct this problem. I really don't know what to do, I will be moving in the next few months, but I would like some sort of stable PS3 connection to play games with friends. Any tips/advice or a guide would be most helpful???

As you have mentioned in your post that your family members have a cordless phone, may be that might be reason you are facing that problem with your PS3. To avoid that you need to change some settings on your router, i think that might solve your problem.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
-Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bits.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters eg: your 10 digit phone number) and click on save settings...Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the Wireless Network...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Once you configure all the settings on your router, after this you need to make some changes on your PS3 as well as on your router.
    PlayStation Settings :-
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1. Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1452 and click Save Settings...
Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 80 and End box type in 80, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    2) On the second line in Application box type in DEF, in the start box type in 443 and End box type in 443, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    3) On the third line in Application box type in GHI, in the start box type in 5223 and End box type in 5223, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    4) On the fourth line in Application box type in JKL, in the start box type in 3478 and End box type in 3479, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    5) On the fifth line in Application box type in MNO, in the start box type in 3658 and End box type in 3658, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    6) On the sixth line in Application box type in PQR, in the start box type in 10070 and End box type in 10080, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box and click on Save Settings
    7) Now assign the given ip address on your PlayStation ip address :- 192.168.1.20, subnet mask :- 255.255.255.0, default gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
    8) Also assign the dns addresses on the PlayStation Primary dns :- 4.2.2.2...Secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1
    9) Turn off your modem, router, and PlayStation...Wait for a minute...
    10) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the PlayStation and test it...
I think after doing all the settings on  your PS3 as well as on your router, it will work perfectly fine.

  • BT Vision killed WiFi access for my PS3 - problem ...

I had BT Infinity Broadband and a Home Hub 2.0 working fine and could use my PS3 over a WiFi connection to the hub to watch iPlayer and play online games without any problems whatsoever.
Then along came BTVision, which works fine cable connected to the hub using the mains LAN adapters BUT it killed the WiFi connection for my PS3.   No more online games and iPlayer/LoveFilm Bah.
HOWEVER, After lots of messing around with the settings in the Home hub I found that the only change I needed to make to fix the problem was to change the Wireless channel on my HomeHub from the default Channel 6 to Channel 7.  I tried using other channels but Channel 7 does the business.
I couldn't find any specific help online for this type of problem so I'm posting this resolution on the off chance that someone else will benefit from the aggravation I've just gone through.

    Great info
The new homehub 3 advertises it can resolve wireless connection issues with ease.
Can anyone whose got one, along with powerlines and a ps3 confirm this?
I should be recieving my home hub 3 tomorrow or thursday, so as soon as it is hooked up, i will post back my findings, but I have never had this problem with my home hub 2, got vision hooked up and my ps3 connects just fine

  • Just another guy with befw11s4/ps3 problems...

Hello.  I just picked up a new ps3 120gb.  Like many other people, I am having a hell of a time connecting the ps3 to my home network through my befw11s4 v4.  I've done some research and have found that there seem to be a lot of different fixes for problems not exactly like mine.  Here's the story:  when I go through the network setup process on the ps3, enter in all the network info, and try to connect to the network I get a message "access point not detected".  The first thing I tried was updating the firmware on the router.  That didn't resolve the problem.  Next, I switched from 64bit wep encryption to wpa-tkip.  That didn't resolve the problem.  However, after power cycling all network equipment and the ps3, the ps3 finally found my router SSID (87% signal strength) and a few of my neighbors'.  However, after updating the network settings on the ps3, I tried to connect and got a message: "password authentication process timed out, check that passkey is correct".  The passkey was correct.  Next time I turned on the ps3, it was back to the same old "access point not detected" **bleep**.  I tried turning off the SSID broadcast feature on the router, to no avail.  Can anyone lay out the exact settings that my router must have to be able to connect to the ps3?  Thanks in advance for any advice....
    Brian

Did you reset the router after upgrading it's firmware...If not then, reset the router for 5 seconds and reconfigure it from the scratch..Lower down the security mode to WEP,change the Wireless Channel to 11-2.467GHz and reduce the MTU value to 1364 on the router.

  • E3000 Lag Spike Problem

    Dear Support Team
I just bought this E3000 router today for 130 euro and seems to be an awesome router. Lots of options and all that stuff but I keep having a very hugh problem.
Once in a while I get a lag spike, a very tuff one, even sometimes a disconnect. I am playing an MMORPG and for that game I need 100% stable internet, which means no disconnects and all that. Now I will paste you some ping test I did on google.be/com. You will see some weird stuff happening.
If you can help me, I would thank you alot.

    And so it goes on.
I'm using a RaLink network card, pretty new computer. HPE-320be from HP.
    SPI firewall disabled.
Hope to get a answer pretty soon.
    Kind regards,
    Lode

Bypass the router and connect the computer directly to the modem. Observe the Internet connection directly through the modem. Make sure that the lag is not from the modem.
Is your computer wired or wireless?

  • WRT54G/PS3 problems

Everytime my PS3 goes to the main manu, it makes my router "hiccup" and disconnects for a split second and messes up some programs on the computers hooked up to it. How can I get it to stop?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

That's really a strange issue, doesn't sound like a router problem but it could be...
Maybe you are using your router since a long time and you have not upgraded it's firmware...You should try to upgrade your router's firmware in case if this is related to your router...
    Download the Firmware from here
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
See if the same thing happens again...

  • Router and Wireless Ps3 Problems. Please help.

well ok i had a previous router, wireless, and it work well with my ps3. Then i found out hey wait, my NAT type 3 is preventing me from playing with my friends. So i tried to fix it. Well something went wrong and my router just completely failed on me. So i went and bought a Linksys WRT160N. Bam it was amazing. My internet work on my ps3 and computer. But yet i still had a NAT type3. The only positive thing was i now had uPnP avaliable. So i went to try and fix my NAT type....then something went wrong again. Today i was opening the ports b/c someone said open your ports to change NAT 3 to NAT 2. Then all of a sudden i try my connection on my ps3 and it says Error 8013013E, cannot reach the access point. It wouldnt even get the Ip Adress. Everything is typed in right and the WPA security, but still cant connect to the access point. Plus if this helps, when i try to do the Wi-Fi Protective Setup, it says failed. I was thinking about just returning the router to its manufactured state but i dont know how. Any suggestions??

I think the ports on your router are not opened properly, that's the reason the NAT type on your PS3 is set to NAT3.
To make your PS3  work with your Router, follow the steps bellow.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...

  • E3000 USB Storage Problem

    Hey,
Just setup my E3000 router and all was good.
Connected a FAT formatted HHD to it and all went well.
Disconnected the HDD and uploaded my music and movies.
When I connect the drive and click the "Create Share" button, the dialog comes up as normal but when I hit the "Submit" button the browser shows me this message:
"Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data."
As if I have lost connection to the router. For about a minute or two I can't access the router.
Any ideas? I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.7 if that makes any difference.
    Thanks guys!

I think you can try to reset the router and reconfigure it.
Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it.
Follow this link to configure the USB storage connected to the router.

  • PS3 problems Call of Duty "DOWNLOADING GAME SETTIN...

Help required please. I can't get connected online with Call of Duty 4 the original Modern Warfare game. Its on the PS3 and I keep getting "DOWNLOADING GAME SETTINGS" everytime i try to play online. It was working up till 2 days ago.
    Tried portforwarding:no luck
out the ps3 in the dmz: no luck
tried nearly everything i can think off
    Please help anyone.

guess you've tried resetting the router to factory settings?
when i used to get the DOWNLOADING GAME SETTINGS (and things like the PSN and CoD servers were still running) a reset of the hub used to fix it, only happened on a couple of occasions tho.
also an option is to change the wireless channel, im running channel 11 and it seems better than channel 6 or 7, might be the placebo effect tho lol.
