E4200 - Low signal

I bought the E4200 because i tought that this will cover a big house as this is the top router from cisco for homeuse. I was very disappointed to find out that the range was only 100 feets, the same as the old WRT54GL i had.
I Really dont recommend to buy this router.
Thank you

There are many reasons why you experience Low signal or connection. Well, there are few things you should keep in mind with regards to N routers:
1) For the best possible speeds, you need to be using WPA2-AES as your security mode. Any other security mode will see your speed/range capped.
2) Make sure the drivers for the Wireless Card for the computers should be updated as well..
3) The router by default uses a channel setting of auto, which means that it would keep switching channels depending on the interference. I’d recommend you set it to a fixed channel. Usually, 1, 3, 6 and 9 give you the best performance depending on your environment of course. I’d suggest you try different channels, observing each for a while, to see which gives you the best performance. You can follow the link here on how to change channels.

  • Yoga 3 pro - WIFI low signal

    On a brand new Yoga 3 PRO 1370 -
I am getting very low WIFI signal on all my routers.
Compared side by side : Think pad yoga and yoga 3 pro - the first one have full bars on signal , the 3 pro have only 1-2 bars and disconnect all the time.
Only when the laptop is very close to the router -  getting full signal bars.
Already removed and update the drivers twice . tried all configurations and power options - still very very low signal reception.
    Any ides ?

  • LENOVO S860 Poor Performance in Low Signal Locations

Just bought two of this phone (2 GB RAM international model) for myself and a colleague.
I'm really pleased with the build. However, I have to say it doesn't perform well in low signal locations and this is quite worrisome as I work in a low signal location so miss most of my daily calls. Such a brilliant phone can't be flawed by the most basic and important function.
LENOVO please release an update to fix this low signal problem asap. Thanks.

Am facing this issue from last four months, Lenovo is not interested in solving this problem. My suggestion is replace this with some other brand. Even Redmi 1s (INR 6000)  has better signal compared to Lenovo s860.

  • WMP600N - weak connection and low signal - Windows 7 x64

I bought the WMP600N because Linksys and Microsoft listed it as 'compatible' for Windows 7 x64.
    My experience:
    - unstable and weak connection
    - pings to websites like google.com drops, average: 1 out of 3
    - low signal, on the same spot my three years old HP-laptop with 'a build in wireless card' has full signal strength in Windows 7
    - it works well under Windows XP (32 bit)
I'am convinced that drivers for the WMP600N are not ready for Window 7 x64. Linksys (or Ralink, which developed the chipset), please release a proper driver for the WMP600N!

I'm not sure about you guys, but I use WMP600N and  running Windows 7 64bit without any issues. The driver that I'm using now is Driver Version: 3.0.2.0, Driver Provider: Ralink Techonolgy Corp, Driver Date: 6/19/2009. Here's what I did when I upgrded my wireless adapter. 1. Uninstall the original wireless driver from device manager. 2. Turn off the computer and phisically removed the wireless adapter from my computer. 3. Pop in the new WMP600N and turn on the computer. 4. Windows 7 then automatically detects the new adapter and intall the proper driver for it. Well, that's all I did. The whole process is very simple and straight forward.

  • 12inch PB, real low signal. How to install 10.4.1 kext files?

Noticed a problem when my girlfriend new Dell can pickup about 11 access points- all with kinda low signal but my Powerbook does not see ANY of them, once in a while it might pick one up for a second, but then it is gone.
I know this is a documented issue with low signal. I downloaded the 10.4.1 drivers (kext files) to install thinking this might solve the issue as it has for several others. Wondering how to install these files though, there are two AppleAirPort.kext and AppleAirPort2.kext. I also want to know what files to backup should there be an issue, or I want to go back? Any help would be awesome!

It says above 2 relevant and 1 correct answere available .............
I'm new here so could anyone direct me to these answeres?

    Hi,
I am recieving low signal strneght after installing 6.0.2 update.Any fixes ? or anybody

Oops I meant cellular w/o the data.
You can try doing a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
if that doesn't help then try - settings - general - reset - reset network settings.
if that doesn't help, then contact your phone carrier and see if they can help.

  • ADAT into Logic Express, VERY low signals recorded

I tried Garageband, same problem, so now I am trying Logic Express.
When transferring tracks from an ADAT, through Alesis io/14, into Logic, the resulting sound files captured are VERY low signal. This should be a digitally ACCURATE TRANSFER. The Alesis montoring software on the mac senses the correct signal, the signal meters show correct levels (and sounds great), but Logic hears and records very low signals.
I note the Sound midi pref window only shows 6 channel 32 bit. It won't allow me to change to 8 channel 16 bit. Possible problem or am I chasing ghosts? I exhausted all my ideas.
    Any thoughts?

Discovering I was unable to import a ".au" file into Logic Express (or Garage Band) I read it into Sound Studio and exported it in a variety of formats. I can now successfully drag to Garage Band files in formats .aif .aifc .sd2 and .wav and get the expected result.
Unfortunately however, I only get the expected result importing these into Logic Express for the .aifc format which plays back at the expected speed with a low-pitched sound (but which doesn't display an uncompressed waveform). Importing the .aif .sd2 or .wav format files however results in the imported file being squeezed into a very short duration with a correspondingly undesirable very high pitch.
Is there some setting or magic incantation I need for reading in audio files to Logic Express without it getting squeezed?
    Thanks!
    --Roph
Yes. you need to ascend to level 5 before we give that secret incantation.
Really, you need to use a third party converter software, if you are going to use .au files.
Logic is happiest with .aiff, .wav files, but not much else.
    Cheers

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    /Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple.

  • Very low signal strength when using DLINK 2640t with mac mini

i have a mac mini and i have been using it fine with a 2wire wireless modem. However i have just switched to a Dlink 2640t (54Mbps (802.11g) Wireless ADSL 2/2+ Router with Built-in Modem, 4-port 10/100Mbps Switch) and have been getting very low signal strengths on my mac mini, resulting in me not being able to surf the internet. The modem+ router is located in the next room. Does anyone know whether its the problem with the modem router or mac mini's airport wireless problems with the router itself. It worked perfectly fine with my previous 2wire wireless modem
    please help!

Did you reset the router after you updated router's firmware? Its always recommended to perform a reset after firmware upgrade on the router.

  • Intermittent/low signal from my wireless router

I am getting an intermittent or low signal strength on my wireless router WPC11 v.4.  Web pages are taking forever to load or do not load at all.  I believe this to be a router problem because a) when i connect right to my cable modem with a network cable (bypassing the router) I seem to be ok; b) if I go back thru the router but connect a netwrork cable from the router to my laptop, I seem to be ok; c) I sometimes see 5.5 or 2.0 Mbps instead of the normal 11.0.  On my router, the power, wireless-b lights are lit.  The Internet light continuously blinks rapidly.
Is there something wrong with my router?  Could it be the antennaes?  I have had this router for a few years now.  Some other problem?  I am not very technical so I hope I have described the problem as best I could in order to get some help.  Can someone please help me diagnose and resolve?  is there more info I can provide?

  • 32RV753 Low Signal Warning

    Hi guys,
I regularly get a low signal warning with the above TV. I use an internal aerial, so this is not a surprise. It is also not a problem, most of the time. However, the warning takes up a good proportion of the screen and is a nuisance, and I would like to turn it off. Any ideas?
    Many thanks,
    Ben

Is that a US model? This site only supports US models. Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix your issue. Try checking Toshiba Europe.

  • Very low signal with new WRT54G (V7.2) comparing with my old BEF1W1154

I bought myself a new WRT54G router to replace my old (but good working) b-router. With the old router I have a great signal in/outdoors.
With the new g-router I experience a low signal , even in the room were I installed the router. In other rooms or outdoors I don't have a signal at all.
    Please advice

There are many causes for poor wireless connections, and many solutions:
First of all, give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router. Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
Poor wireless connections are often caused by radio interference from other 2.4 GHz devices. This includes wireless phones, wireless baby monitors, microwave ovens, wireless mice and keyboards, wireless speakers, and your neighbor's wireless network. In rare cases, Bluetooth devices can interfere. Even some 5+ GHz phones also use the 2.4 Ghz band. Unplug these devices, and see if that corrects your problem.
In your router, try a different channel. There are 11 channels in the 2.4 GHz band. Usually channel 1, 6, or 11 works best. Check out your neighbors, and see what channel they are using. Because the channels overlap one another, try to stay at least +5 or -5 channels from your strongest neighbors. For example, if you have a strong neighbor on channel 9, try any channel 1 through 4.
Also, try to locate the router about 4 to 6 feet above the floor, in an open area. Do not locate it behind your monitor or near other computer equipment or speakers. The antenna should be vertical.
Also, in the computer, go to your wireless software, and go to "Preferred Networks" (sometimes called "Profiles" ). There are probably a few networks listed. Delete any network named "linksys". Also delete any network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use. If your current network is not listed, enter its info (SSID, encryption (if any), and key (if any) ). Then select your current network and make it your default network, and set it to automatic login. You may need to go to "settings" to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select "Properties" or "settings".
If the above does not fix your problem, download and install the latest driver for your wireless card.
Some users have reported improved wireless performance by switching to WPA encryption.
If you continue to have problems, try the following:
For wireless g routers, try setting the "Transmission Rate" to 54 Mbps.
If you still have trouble, download and install the latest firmware for your router. After a firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
    Hope this helps.

  • Low signal

    Hi,
I buy new iphone 3gs 8gb & i have a lot of low signal & somtimes there is no signal at all, i try all the options that epple website suggest.
    Please help ASAP.

No one here can help you with this. You need to contact your carrier. If it is determined to be a hardware problem - not associated with your carrier or with your carrier's SIM card, you need to contact Apple if your iPhone remains under warranty or if your carrier handles iPhone warranty claims, this will be your carrier. If no longer under warranty, you can contact a 3rd party repair service to see if there is anything they can do depending on where the problem lies.
