E4200 - Unsupported Operating System Mountain Lion

Just purchased the E4200 for our office to find that the most current mac operating system, Moutain Lion, is not supported by this wirelss router.  Does anyone know of a work-around or solution for this problem?

When you sy unsupported, you are referring to the software that helps you setup the router right? The router will work with this operating system, you will still be able to connect wirelessly to the network using this. But for the initial setup, if you do not have another computer to use, you will have to manually configure it.

Anyone know what I need to do to get it to open?

I found this article, but I have device E2000, so does this mean I can't update my Cisco connect software?  I just moved and my wireless isn't working.  I need to get into cisco connect to set it up.  Do I need to buy a new device?

Older versions of Cisco Connect and the Network Magic add-on for Mac computers have compatibility issues with the latest release of Mac OS X (10.7 “Lion”).  Only Cisco Connect versions 1.4.11222 and newer are compatible with the Lion operating system.  To learn how to check your computer’s Mac OS X version, click here.
To ensure that Cisco Connect software can be installed on your Mac computer, check the table below which lists the devices that have this update.

  • I'm trying to connect my MacBook Pro running on OS 10.8.2 to a Linksys EA3500 router and when I go to click on the set up icon I get an "unsupported operating system". Any suggestions on what to do? The Linksys site is useless.

I'm trying to connect my MacBook Pro running on OS 10.8.2 to a Linksys EA3500 router and when I go to click on the set up icon I get an "unsupported operating system". Any suggestions on what to do? The Linksys site is useless. Do I need some kind of upgrade?

Don't use the CD software its not necessary.
Infact put it in the trash.
Your router will have an IP address in the range 192.168.1.1
Connect your router to your Mac via Ethernet cable (They usually supply one with the router and don't worry which end goes where the Mac LAN socket is bi-directional)
Also connect your router to your telephone line.
Now open your Web browser Safari . Type in the IP address above and a Javascript control panel will launch
Enter the default password and username (They are on a label on the router )
Your now have the ability to set up your router.
Your will need the password and user name supplied to you by your ISP at a minimum.
Enter these and most modern routers automatically configure the basic networking setting.
You now need to go to the security setting and set this as WPA2 Personal (NOT Enterprise) or WPA2 with AES and TKIP which ever it refers to and create a pass-phase. WRITE it down
    You should be online.
Now remove the cable and connect to the Wifi and enter that passphase.

    Welcome to the community @Teekayk
I understand you are trying to install your Deskjet 3055A on your Mac, running Mavericks. The installation CD may be compatible up to 10.6, and that could be why you are seeing the error message.
This link should help you. It will show you how to install the printer on your Mac. There is no full driver and software available for the Deskjet 3055A on Mavericks, which basically means you will need to review your other options to scan on your Mac through Apple Updates, which is all included in the guide.

  • Unsupported Operating System

Hi. I have finally moved from an iphone to a blackberry. I have a MAC with OS X 10.5.5
I have downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Software and everytime I want to download an application it comes up with the following message:
    Unsupported Operating System
You are using an unsupported operating system, some functionality will be disabled.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall and it still comes up with this error.
Please help me ..... I dearly want to use this phone.....
    Thanks in advance

I've got the same issue with this, the non-availability of the older software for those of us not running the very latest Mac OS. Anybody know where you can get it from? So far I've been working around this by just connecting my BB with the USB cable or by Bluetooth and transferring files as if it were another disc connected to the computer, but I'd prefer to be able to do it more easily... I did pay for the privilege after all, come on RIM, sort it out!!!!

  • Setup - Unsupported Operating System

I received a Linksys E1200 Wi-Fi Router for Christmas. I inserted the Setup CD into my iMac, running OS X version 10.8.2.
I clicked on setup and a window opened with the message "Unsupported operating system".
At this point I don't plan to use the Wi-Fi for the computer, but I do need to connect the ethernet cable to the router, then to my computer.
I will be using Wi-Fi for my iPad. In that case, I have no instructions on how to set up the router for my iPad. Please advise.
Will this Wi-Fi router work or will I need a router compatible with OS X version 10.8.2?

Hi, have you tried downloading it from here? Its supposed to work for the 10.8 version, though Im not sure if it will however for the 10.8.2. At either rate, you can also manually configure the router, just follow the instructions on my signature.

  • How do I transfer photos from an external drive, taken from a defunct computer with Snow Leopard, to one operating with Mountain Lion?

My late 2007 MacBook Pro, with a replacement 500 GB drive and updated to Snow Leopard, died.  The extracted drive works in an external drive case, so all the files are there.  Most of the files were transferred from a time machine backup to a new MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion.  However, about a week's worth of files were missing from the Time Machine backup, due to traveling.  I would like to copy just those files, mostly pictures, from the original drive to the new system.  However, when I try to use iPhoto to get to the image files on the external drive, the system says the iPhoto information must be updated to the new system and, once done, they cannot be accessed with an old one.    One concern is that updating the iPhoto information on the external drive might go wrong and make the files inaccessible.  If there were some way to just have the underlying image files identified and copied, that would be most comfortable for me. .Any advice?

1 - updating your iPhoto library does not make photos inaccessible - it does update the iPhoto database so that you have to have the current version of iPhoto to open the library - however the photos are in the database and can be accessed via the finder anytime
2 - you do not memtion what version of iPhoto you had - the original photos are in the masters (or original) folder which can be accessed by right clicking on the iPhoto library and showing package contents - Be sure NOT to make any changes to the library)

  • IPhoto 11 crashes system (Mountain Lion)

    Hi all--
I upgraded to Mountain Lion hoping some random reliability issues would go away.  Unfortunately, every time I open iPhoto, it crashes the whole system.  Holding down the command and option keys during boot doesn't lead to the rebuild screen.  It just crashes the system.  Holding down the option key and making a new library crashes the whole system.  Moving the iPhoto library into another directory and trying to create a new one from scratch crashes the whole system, too.  Deleting the plist and restarting iPhoto, crash bang.  Every time I open iPhoto, the screen blacks out and the whole system crashes.  No exceptions.
FYI, I've reparied the HD with Disk Utility, too.  This is a 15" Macbook Pro (per the below).
Anyone have this happen?  Here's the crash info:

If it's the data, shouldn't it crash iPhoto in Safe Mode?
You can get the original files out of your library without having to open that library with iPhoto.  Here's how:
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1. Open the library package like this.
    2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note:  your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

  • Is there a way to adjust shadows in iMovie 11? WhenI adjust brightness it changes shadows also. If not is there free or low cost software available? My operating system is Lion.

Is there a way to adjust shadows in imovie 11. When I adjust brightness, it changes shadows also. If not, is there free or low cost software that I can download? I am using Lion 10.7.1

You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

  • Preview operation under mountain lion

Have just upgraded my MacBook Pro and find that I can no longer use Preview to convert my Grabbed images. Upto now I've grabbed an image, which can only be saved as a TIFF, then opened it in Preview, edited it maybe, and then saved it as a jpg. This option does not seem to be there any more. Any suggestions?

I just tried it - it seems to work.
You are using the File > Export... menu item?

  • After upgrade cannot connect to router- Cisco Connect advises "unsupported operating system"

With the upgrade I am unable to connect to my Linksys E1200 Router.

When you try to login at http://192.168.1.1, what happens?  What do you see on your browser?  Does it say invalid password, or does it not give you a login prompt at all?  And I'm not sure if you're problem is the wireless computer or the wired one...you say you have one wired computer, then you're saying that you use the same wire with the other one, and use the term "cables" so it's confusing what you're trying to do.  Do you have two wired computers, one working on the internet and the other not?  Or ???
Also, you can reset the router password to factory defaults by using the reset button on the back (press it for about 30 seconds, then release).  This will also set all your configuration back to factory defaults, too, so you'll have to re-enter all your settings, but it is possible that you changed the password somewhere along the way and forgot what it is.

  • When I try to open my Cisco Connect router it says "unsupported operating system".

I just upgraded to Maverick and now when I try to access my Cisco router it won't open and when I try to open a firmware upgrade download, it says "set up is damaged and can't be opened".  My OS X is version 10.9 now.  Cisco says it supports 10.5.8 or later, 10.6.1 or later, and 10.7 or later.  Does this mean Cisco no longer supports my router because of the upgrade to Maverick?  Shouldn't Apple have said the upgrade would affect hardware such as a router?

Select one of the problem files in the Finder and open the Info window. Do you have read & write access?

  • Netbeans C++ configuration on a MAC OS X Mountain Lion

I have NetBeans installed with a C++ compiler. When I first downloaded NetBeans and the compiler, netBeans automatically configured the C++ compiler. Now I have upgraded to the new operating system mountain lion. Now whenever I try to compile a C++ project it tells me that the C++ compiler is not configured.
This started happening since I upgraded the operating system. Here is a screenshot of the problem. The compiler that I'm using is gcc. 4.7.1, if anyone has any idea on how to fix it I really appreciate it. Once again, it was working perfectly fine, but then I upgraded the operating system.

That's the problem with rolling your own development system and making unsupported modifications to the operating system. You are unlikely to find anyone running either Netbeans or GCC 4.7.1 on Mountain Lion.
GCC has never fully supported the Mac. It has always relied upon Xcode, which non longer relies upon GCC. I suggest downloading the latest Xcode and installing the command line tools. Personally, I would stop there and use clang++ and avoid GCC or else you are likely to encounter similar problems any time you upgrade.
GCC is about "freedom" (in the Orwellian sense), not ease of configuration. If you ask GNU, they would recommend against using a Mac to begin with.
