E4200v1 v1.0.03 (Build 14) MSS Clamping & Gigabit/jumbo frames

Does the E4200 perform MSS clamping to the WAN MSS / MTU?
I do not see this enabled in http://192.168.1.1/CBT_SystemIptables.asp
I'm having some weird issues where internal gigibit computers w/ jumbo frames (MTU = 9000) try to route data over the WAN (MTU = 1500) to other computers with internal gigibit connections w/ MTU = 9000. PMTU discovery then sometimes fails (with some routers that block ICMP), and the connection stalls or dies.
I'm not quite sure if this is happening at the local or remote end, but might be an issue with the E4200 not supporting jumbo frames and silently dropping large packets sent to it.
Has anyone else had similar issues?

Pretty aburd that their top-of-the line consumer / "Maximum Performance" gigabit router doesn't support jumbo frames -- it's clear the chipset of the switch does [BCM53115].
For those who use jumbo frames on other internal devices (e.g. NAS), and then share those externally, this explicitly breaks a lot of connections.

  • Jumbo frame support with BGP MSS size

    Hi All,
I am working at small SP. we are going to enable Jumbo Frame support from end to end. Our core segment have MPLS cloud and packet size could be able support  up over 9000 already. Since our Core segment router  are running pure BGP with our edge/access segment router , when I enable jumbo frame support on their  interface level, I still can see BGP MSS size is 1260 right now. so my question, do I need  increase BGP MSS size between our core router  and edge router for transiting our SP cloud  traffic packet ?
    many thanks!

    hi Harold,
I have other question about MSS size for IPv4 and IPv6 BGP session, if the physical link MTU size is 1500 ( same as 1514 on ASR 9K platform), why IPv6 BGP MSS is 1240 and IPv6 BGP MSS is 1220? As I only understand IPv4 headr 20, tcp header 20, but didn't match these MSS size number, I am sure I mis-understand some value in between, could you please let me know how we get 1240 and 1220?
    many thanks!

    Good Day,everyone!
It is my first time here.^_^
    My puzzle:
I'm going to modify the design stytle of the OSMF example code with the flex builder 3,
but the former design frame cann't be viewed with the "design" tools. The warning indicates that
"Design mode:cann't load MediaPlayer.swc(reason:Error:Load Verify). It may require classes(such as Adobe AIR components)that are not supported by design mode."
I have checked everyting I can, and attampted so many ways, but it doesn't work.
    Expecting for your suggestion!
    Thanks a lot!
    Good Luck!

    Thanks for your immediate responding!
I have focused on the   DynamicStreamingSample.
    I am using the osmf_source_6.
My Flex Builder version is the latest, and the sdk is 3.4.
When I imported  the project, I have recompiled the MediaFramework and MediaPlayer project. Meantime, I added the new .swc file in
the BuildPath. Is everything all right?
Excuse me?When I unzip the zip file of the source, I find the MediaFramework.swc in the directory the same as other directores such as
    apps,docs,frame and so on.
Why  is the MediaFramework.swc file here? Is it different from the .swc which is compiled with the MediaFramework project?
    Expecting for your news!
    Good day!

  • Current build - please critique and advise

This is my current build for editing 4K without drop-frames or major slowdowns. I would really like to hear from someone who already works intensively with 4K footage (this is my benchmark) and does not experience major headaches in editing. I am willing to upgrade any of the current parts below if they are not going to give me what I need (speed mostly and ability to handle massive workload). One of those could be the RAM. I realize there's DDR4 out, and also possibility of CPU. But I'd like to hear it from you guys first if it's necessary.

  • Services to be available as header

    hi
i have a scenario , where in  i need Services related
to  MSS -> TEAM   as part of the header.
i have copied the standard MSS to the folder i have created
then  when i click on the MSS  , can get TEAM workset
and when i click the TEAM , need i want services
related or corresponding to TEAM to be shown as header in the portal ,  when i click TEAM,
when i click MSS role , i can see TEAM workset in the
header , when i click TEAM , i cannot see the services which are pages inthe header , but i can see them as part of the
    DETAILED NAVIGATION VIEW,
plz can any one help me out with this ?

Very basic portal content administration. Do you understand HOW the layout of your role, worksets, pages, etc. affects WHERE they are shown? Entry points?
In any event, to do what you want to do, you will simply need to build your MSS role appropriately. If you want "MSS" in the top level navigation and then "Overview", "Team", "Reports" or whatever in the second level navigation but then you also want all the service links from "Team" to be in the top navigation (first or second level), you will need to change you role a lot. If you want "third" level navigation, it is possible but requires customization of the framework....this information can be found in the portal forums and I believe their is a blog about it too. Otherwise, you need to understand the purpose of the various naviagtion areas and WHY your service links probably need to be in the detailed navigation at the most in order to give users and overall consistent experience in the portal. Think of your first and second level "header" navigation as being more for larger, overall "areas" of work versus specific content like the actual services.

  • Appraisal Objects created in 'Approved' Planning status

    Good day,
When creating Appraisal Template objects, they are created in 'Approved' Planning Status. We want them created in 'Active' Planning Status. We suspect this is the reason why we can't configure/define the process configuration for our template under IMG path: Personnel Management > Personnel Development > Objective Setting and Appraisals > Define Tabs and Process Configuration for Template. The system gives the following error message: "No process defined for form <template name>"
We've tried using program RHAKTI00 to make these objects (VA VB VC) active but are facing a further issue that it makes appraisal template unreleased. Vice versa when i released the template, it makes objects planning status to reset to approved from active. A similar issue has been posted in the below thread but an answer was not provided.
Objects created in 'Approved'  Planning status
    Kindly assist.
    Best regards

    >
    > Extrapolate this to SAP PM.  We have created a Criteria group in our template and have experimented with adding qualifications via the BADI and this works fine EXCEPT that the manager would have to do this in each employee's appraisal, individually.  We are developing the tool to build and maintain the qualification catalog and assign to the employee via Manager Self Service, we are hoping to be able to facilitate the assignment of the EJR/Qualification into the employee's appraisal template.   The EJR's (Q objects) will be associated to a quadrant in their catalog: QK's - Clinical Quality, Customer Service, Finance and Work Culture
    >
    > The criteria group, Expected Job Results, has for criteria groups nested under it:  VB objects for four quadrants, Clinical Quality, Customer Service, Finance and Work Culture.   SO, we get to the crux of the matter.  Since we know the employee, we can get to the appraisal document and associated data in the tables.  The decision of which VB to go to is what we are trying to facilitate.  The textual names will be the same for the quadrants in the QK's and VB's BUT thats a bad way to try to make a decision, thus the thought to create a relationship between the QK and the associated, logically equivalent VB.
    >
    > The issue comes up with some of our managers who have large (60+) direct reports so the thought of creating qualifications from the appraisal side, individually per employee does not work.  This is why we are thrashing around with trying to start outside and work our way in.  Make sense ?

    > Chris Thomas
    Hi Chris,
This is what I was trying to explain between free vs fixed enhancement.
Free enhancement - user selects from a list to add something to the template
Fixed ehahcement - preloads data into the template
If your application that you build in MSS assigns the qualifications to the employees, you have a number of options to make this work as fixed enhancement.
First use the following fixed enhancement as your basis:
HRHAP00_ENHANCE_FIX1 - Fixed Enhancement - Add Position Requirements
Now in your MSS application if you assigned the qualifications to the position and wanted all qualifications to show up in 1 criteria group, you can use this enhancement with no development.
qualifications assigned to positions or jobs are called requirements
qualifications assigned to employees are called qualifications
if you have like 10 qualifications assigned to the position and 4 need to go to clinical quality VB, 3 need to go to finance vb criteria groups, you will create a BADI for each one of those, each criteria group wiill have its own unique badi.  in the badi you will apply the filter after all "requirements are selected from position" so that only the 4 belonging to the qualification block for finance are loaded into that VB.
if your mss application MUST assign it the employee for business reason, you use the same logic except swap out position lookup with employee lookup.
    are we closer?

  • E4200 Firmware Won't Generate Backup

    I just upgraded my E4200 v1 to firmware v1.0.06.
In the Advanced Options>Administration>Management, at the bottom of the page are buttons labeled "Back Up Configuration" and "Restore Configuration."
When I click on the "Back Up Configuration" button, nothing happens.  I initially expected that my popup settings were interfering, but after adding the url to my exceptions list, it made no difference.  Besides. the "Restore Configuration" dialog box appears just fine when I click on that button.
I was able to back up just fine in the prior version.  This version is new to me, but has actually been around for a while.  Could this be just an overlooked bug, after all this time?
    Thank you,

  • ERP 04 - Home Page Framework  (IAC object and Transaction )

    Hi,
We currently have transactional and IAC iViews in our EP 6 and 4.6c system. We will upgrade the system from 4.6c to ECC 5. Upgraded system specification will be as follows.
    EP6 NW04 (Web AS 640) SP 12
    Integrated ITS 640
    ECC5 backend
We are using homepage Framework to build ESS/MSS portal content.
    My questions
    1. How can we call a SAP transaction from an ESS home page Framework? What type of service I need to create to do so?
    2. We are currently using Time approval (CAPS) and Expense approval (PRAP) in EP6 as transactional iViews. Has SAP created a Web Dynpro service for these two functions?
    3.  How can we call an IAC object from an ESS home page Framework? What type of service I need to create to do so?
Thanks a lot for your help!

    Hi Fatima,
I think there is not an option to use a Transaction directly in the XSS Homepage framework.
However, you can create a portal page with a transaction iview on it. In the homepage framework just attach the pcd path to the resource. That should do the trick.
This will probably answer question 1 and 3

  • My MBP has started to send out TCP packets larger than the MTU on the NIC - is there any place that this can be overriden?

Got a very weird issue here and wondering if anyone has any other ideas. Basically over the wired NIC only, my Mac has started to send out large HTTP/HTTPS packets from the browser (> 1500 bytes) Captures show packet sizes from 2000 all the way to 4000 sometimes. This happens in Firefox and Chrome so doesn't appear to be application related.
This causes fragmentation issues and traffic drops which basically causes most of my websites and  tools to crash and burn (and I get all sorts of SSL errors from applications, etc).
It appears to be limited to just TCP packets as pings with the DF bit set will not send any larger than 1500 bytes.
However if I switch to wireless, everything works fine and captures show the correct maximum packet size of 1500 for all packets leaving my client.
The MTU on the  en0 interface is 1500 as per ifconfig and I made sure that it was set to 1500 in Network config panel (because there is an option for jumbo frames there which bumps up the MTU).
A packet capture also shows that during the three way handshake the TCP MSS is successfully sent and negotiated as 1480, but then it appears to ignore that when sending packets later in the TCP stream.
I've rebooted, upgraded to 10.7.4, checked the "sysctl" outputs and matched against a Mac not having the issue.
This is the newest MBP 15 inch model.
Any other ideas on things to check?

Have you used any sort of "tuner" software? You are obviously an advanced user. Sometimes we hack things up and forget about it later. If you are sure you didn't do that, maybe poke around with IPv6 settings. Supposedly people are trying to enable that and it is going to be a disaster.

Your PhotoEditor class extends JPanel. In that class you override paintComponent(). But you never add the panel to the GUI, so that method is never invoked.
Personally I would have the PhotoEditor class extend JFrame. Then in the constructor you build all the components for the frame
    a) build the menu
    b) build the toolbar
Then I would create a PhotoPanel class that you extend and override the paintComponent(). Then you add this panel to the GUI as your main panel.
For a simple example of drawing a background image on a panel search the forum for my BackgroundImage example.

  • Useful Code of the Day:  Splash Screen & Busy Application

So you are making an Swing application. So what are two common things to do in it?
    1) Display a splash screen.
    2) Block user input when busy.
Enter AppFrame! It's a JFrame subclass which has a glass pane overlay option to block input (setBusy()). While "busy", it displays the system wait cursor.
It also supports display of a splash screen. There's a default splash screen if you don't provide a component to be the splash screen, and an initializer runner which takes a Runnable object. The Runnable object can then modify the splash screen component, for example to update a progress bar or text. See the main method for example usage.
It also has a method to center a component on another component (useful for dialogs) or center the component on the screen.
NOTE on setBusy: I do recall issues with the setBusy option to block input. I recall it having a problem on some Unix systems, but I can't remember the details offhand (sorry).

  • Buttons don't work

I am working on a small application.
My main frame is a public class that defines two buttons in its constructor one for input and the other for feedback.
The input screen and the feedback screens are defined as inner listener classes of the main class.
The code compiles fine but the buttons don't work. Please take a look at my code and make suggestions for what I am doing wrong
    Thanks

I compiled and did run your code....
it seems you are trying to implement a Frame with two buttons... each time the user click on a button, the main frame displays the equivalent panel with a set of components .. isnt it ?
    well... some tips:
1 - Why dont you use a JTabbedPane ? a much better container than a simple Frame....
2 - If you really need to use a Frame as a container of multiple forms.. then you should take a look in the java.awt.CardLayout
other tip: dont use the Frame component as the same class as the ActionListener.. divie these comopnents in two classes...

  • ThermoVision Labview Digital Toolkit for connection with a FLIR SC645 is not working

    Can somebody help me?
I have troubles connecting my FLIR SC 645 with my Labview Software.
The “FLIR R&D Software” works fine I can make a connection with the camera over Ethernet, I can take images and read temperatures.
Now I want to use the labview toolkit to automate the measurement in a production process.
So the camera is connected over a Ethernet port directly to the PC.
I can see the camera in NI MAX under NI-IMAQdx Devices. If I try to snap a image a error occurs:
Error 0xBFF69031 The system did not receive a test pack from the camera.
The package may be to long or a firewall may be enabled.
When I dig in the libraries of ThermoVIsion I found the “ThermoVision Cam Ctrl.vit”. This program does work, it connects to the camera and I can do a internal calibration and some focusing but that is it. The examples from Thermovision does give me a black image and a Error -1.
Does anyone has some experience with this toolkit?
The main idée I had is to inport the image into a vision builder and their work with some intensity levels. Is this possible? And how do I connect with the camera?
    Hendrikx Danny

    Hello,
usually IR cameras have dfferent pallete displays (monochrome, rainbow, saturation, etc...). The default is probably monochrome, that is why you are seeing it. You should be able to change the output by sending the appropriate command to the camera.
Regarding the jumbo frames (I suggest that you leave this alone, if you get your camera working):
let me google it for you
    Best regards,

  • Mac mini (Late 2012, 10.8.2) kernel panic "complete() while dma active" after "vtd[0] fault" messages

I have a brand new Mac Mini, the quad-core i7 model, running 10.8.2, and have been seeing several kernel panics already.... They all seem to happen during heavy use (building a large software package) of an external USB 3.0 SSD disk (LaCie P'9223 Slim, 128 GB, Mac OS Extended (Journaled)).
What happens is that the software build going on hangs, although using control-c and/or control-z and kill works. Looking in system.log I see several lines like:
    Jan  1 22:13:51 sniff kernel[0]: vtd[0] fault: device 0:20:0 reason 0x5 W:0x64c000
    Jan  1 22:13:51 sniff kernel[0]: vtd[0] fault: device 0:20:0 reason 0x5 W:0x64d000
    Jan  1 22:13:51 sniff kernel[0]: vtd[0] fault: device 0:20:0 reason 0x5 W:0x64e000
The W fields varies, the others are the same. How can one interpret them?
and then after a short while there is a kernel panic like this:
    panic(cpu 4 caller 0xffffff8009c525d7): "complete() while dma active"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2050.20.9/iokit/Kernel/IOMemoryDescriptor.cpp:2552

I have had no 3rd-party kexts in use except the com.bresink.driver.BRESINKx86Monitoring (for Temperature Monitor), but I will try now without that and see if the crash goes away.
Oh, and another thing, I enabled Jumbo Frames for the wired Ethernet, but this problem does not happen during any heavy use of the net as far as I know.

  • Secondary color correction not working in Premiere CC

    Greetings,
I'm unable to build secondary color correction masks in Three Way Color Corrector, RGB Curves etc in the current version of Premiere CC.
In any of these plugins, when I check "show mask" I get the usual white slate filling the frame. But when I use the color picker to make a selection the whole frame stays white. It appears that I'm making selections but it's not building the mask for some reason. When making an extreme color change I can see that the mask is not building as it affects the whole frame.
This started after upgrading to CC. I've recently updated to the most up to date version (yesterday) and am still having the same problem.
    Premiere CC 2014.1 Release
    8.1.0 (81) Build
Macbook Pro Retina, 15" Late 2013
    2Gh Intel Core i7
    8Gb
    Intel Iris Pro 1536Mb
    Yosemite Version 10.10
*note-my Colleague is not having this problem, he's working on the same OS and same CC build but he has an Imac. So I'm guessing this problem is unique to my hardware config.
Anybody else have this problem or know of a fix?

I have the same Problem new MAC OS Premier Pro CC or Premier Pro CS6 both have an issue with the Title Tool. If you open the title tool and try to make color changes or change size of the font it sticks at the default color and default font. SOmetimes the title tool will work and then when I exit it's back to the default first type location, default font and default color. Sometimes it will not even let me exit the Title Tool.
Please help I have Projects I'm working on Deadlines and I pay a monthly Fee for Software that works and it's not working.
