[E5-00] Flagging emails (IMAP)

When I receive an email that I need to act on I will flag it for later information, and am happy to see that the Email client on the E5-00 displays these flags (see attached screenshot). I have not been able to find a way to flag or unflag messages on the E5-00 itself, though - is this possible? It seems odd to provide a way to display the flags but no way to set the flags, so sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

Ajay's suggestion is good, but I don't think the E5 supports that degree of granularity.  Assuming that's true, your only solution would be a third party program like Remind Me: http://mobifunsoft.com/remindme/ (also on Ovi Store).  Switch Vibrating Alert off for the profile, but use Remind Me to enable vibration for only calls and messages.  Note that I've never used this app myself, so you'll have to test it to make sure it works how you want.  Good luck!

  • I would like to see flagged emails on my iPhone

I flag emails on my Macbook Pro in various folders but I can not see them on my iphone.  Is there a way to have flagged folders appear on the iPhone please?

Strange as it works for me, I can flag a message on my Kindle Fire & a flag appears in the same email on the iPhone & visa versa.
I assume the account uses imap & not pop on all your devices so I can only suggest that when you Mark a message as flagged on another device that you refresh the same account on your iPhone (by pulling down the screen) to see if it appears: unless you already do that & it makes no difference.

  • Can you sort by flagged emails on mail application?

I am trying to figure out a way to sort or view only my flagged emails. Can any one suggest a solution or work around? Thank you.

I am not sure why you want to do this, but the following might work:
    1. Set up your MM email account as an IMAP account (which I'd advise in any event with multiple devices);
    2. Create a folder for Flagged items (ie, Inbox, Sent, Trash, Flagged);
    3. Create a  Rule to put a copy (or transfer) flagged messages to the new Flagged mailbox. You may need to do this on your mac, as that's the only place to mark messages as flagged;
    4. You may need to create an additional step to move items unflagged, or else create a Rebjild trigger;
    5. Make sure your iPad and mac are set up for the new IMAP account.
With IMAP, your iPad should then have a new Flagged messages folder, that will have all your messages then marked flagged. I think the hardest part will be getting the rules to move or copy messages to the Flagged folder working reliably. I don't think it can be a smart folder. Rather, you will have to create the smarts with reliable rules.
    Hope this helps.

  • TS4002 Flagged emails on ipad not synced to iphone5

Flagged emails on ipad mini not coming up as flagged on iphone 5.   I set up ipad first.   So the previous flagged emails before purchasing the iPhone are not syncing. Only the current emails now. Thank you.

If you have POP account they never will sync. If you have IMAP, they may start syncing if and when folder they in, is located on the server. In order to make those sync and for troubleshooting you may want to contact your email provider. Since I don't know what your email is - that is the best I can do.

  • HT5361 Flagging emails on multiple devices

Hi I have a 2011 Macbook Air and an iPhone 5 that work together fine. I receive emails on both (through a gmail account) and if I flag or unflag an email on either device it shows in the other, and vice versa.
I also have a 2009 iMac at home that sync's with all the normakl apps, Calender, Tasks etc through the same gmail account, it also receives the emails okay however I have never been able to get it to flag emails correctly; it completly ignores what is happening on my other devices.
Everything is pretty standard, and as I say all devices are set up with the one gmail account; anyone got any ideas, i'm all out!

Not a flaw, but a function of what type of mail account you have. Doing what you want requires an IMAP or Exchange account. Not possible with a POP account, & it sounds like you have a POP account.
That's the way POP accounts work.

  • How can I delete flagged emails that are not visible in my account boxes?

Currently I show 43 flagged emails but not in any of my accounts is there a flag.  I am not sure if I deleted them early in learning to use my iphone 4s or what.  Certainly I had flagged email messages in the past.  Any suggestions?  I have tired going into my various email accounts on the iphone and checking all of the deleted emails for each account.  I only found seven flagged messages.
    Much appreciation for any suggestions.
    Thanks!

    Hey OldCT!
I have a link here for you that may help you find your flagged messages a little more easily:
    See important messages - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph3caefa61
Flag a message so you can find it later. Tap while reading the message. You can change the appearance of the flagged message indicator in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Flag Style. To see the Flagged mailbox, tap Edit while viewing the Mailboxes list, then tap Flagged.
Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!

  • Is there a way to show only flagged email on iOS Mail?

I use Exchange 2007 at work with Outlook 2010.  I also use my iPad to connect to my company Outlook Web Access.  On the iPad I am able to mark a message as flagged.  I use the flag on a message to indicate that there's some action that I need to take on the email.  After I skim my inbox and flag all the emails with actionable items in them I go to my smart folder in Outlook which shows only my flagged messages so I can focus on those with actionable items.  I noticed on IOS Mail there does not seem to be such smart folders and there seems to be no way to view only messages which are flagged.
Can someone please explain how to do this on the iPad.  It is very important to me.  In fact, it's so important, that I would switch to Windows Phone platform just to have this one feature.
    Thanks!

I too would love to filter my inbox down to just flagged emails - I'm on iPad 3 with latest iOS, though it seems latest OS is not the problem, but rather a simple oversight in usability, and more important productivity.
On the note of productivity, why does it take SO MANY clicks to flag an email on iPad mail? Have to hit Edit > mark the email > Mark > Flag. I count three superfluous taps there. There should be a swipe action on the left (much like the swipe and Delete on the right hand side of the email heading) for flagging. And a simple little flag symbol at the top to hit when I want to see only flagged mails. Productivity should be the name of the game.
I also realise that venting in this forum probably isn't the best place for it...

  • I can't flag emails in OS5. Only gives me the option to Unread.

Still reading the OS5 manual. It says I can flag email, I read my work email off an Outlook enterprise server. The flag option doesn't appear when I mark in edit. I can unread it only. Is this a server issues? It's an iPhone 4.

I too would like to be able to do this. Just put them where i want the. IFTT a scripting app will put the images in dropbox for you , but its been pretty iffy.

  • How do I get rid of old flagged emails (59) sitting in box?

Problems with sending & receiving emails  messages " an error occurred while delivering this message"  " the connection to the server failed"
" message has not downloaded from server"
Have spent several hours trying to trace problem - still no solution So decided to clear out old emails in case this was a problem, and discovered 59 old flagged email that I am unable to remove -   So if anyone can HELP it would be very much appreciated.

I have the same problem and it is killing me. Apple store technicians were not able to help. This is a data protection that is affecting my privacy. If this issue cannot solved then I will not be able to send confidential emails.

  • Flagged email messages in iOS7 changed?

When using iOS6 email I was able to flag an email message in any folder and it would appear in my Flagged folder in iOS. After upgrading to iOS 7 I found flagged email messages in my read folder that did not appear in the Flagged folder. After moving the messages to my Inbox they appeared in the Flagged folder.
Does anyone know why Apple changed the ability to flag an email and see it in the Flagged folder regardless of where the email is located. Seems like a backwards move to require that all flagged emails stay in the inbox folder.
This occurs in all mail accounts. iCloud, gmail, and exchange that I use.

Just reported it as a bug. Let's see what happens.
I'm pretty sure this used to work on iOS 6.. but it's not working under iOS 7, making flagged messages pretty useless.
It does, however, work just fine on MacOS X's Mail.app, so there's some inconsistency about what Flagged messages means here. Makes me think it's just something they missed in iOS 7 and it will be back..
..or they'll pull the functionality out of MacOS. :-)

  • Unable to flag emails in iOS 7

I was able to flag an email yesterday.
Today, it no longer appears as flag.
I also lose the functionality to flag any emails.
    Any idea why?

I think it may be something to do with gmail, or it is in my case. I've got another account which I am able to flag emails on, but not the gmail account. Something to do with google ending Exchange ActiveSync support. Existing gmail accounts continue to work but it's not possible to set up a new account.

  • Insert date sent in flag email script

I need to insert the date sent into this flagged email script to make it more useful, just not sure how to do it:
set newline to ASCII character 12
set finalText to "EMAIL REMINDERS:" & newline
    tell application "Mail"
set theMessages to every message in inbox whose flagged status is true
repeat with i from 1 to number of items in theMessages
set thisMessage to item i of theMessages
set fromMsg to (sender of thisMessage as string)
set subjMsg to (subject of thisMessage as string)
                        set finalText to finalText & "FLAG: " & word 1 of fromMsg & " : " & subjMsg & " : " & newline
              end repeat
    end tell
    finalText

    Hi,
The E-mail template is actually works as an HTML or CSS page. You need to use the HTML/CSS formats to send these values in the format as you want. Use <tags> to do the formating of Email template.
Use function to store multiple values and thn use them into Email
    I hope this will help.

  • Flagged Emails in iCloud?

How can I get a mailbox in iCloud with my emails flagged in mail on the desktop?

I see that too, but it is searching inboxes only, and the results are flagged emails in inboxes, not flagged messages that were placed in subfolders in Apple Mail on my iMac.
UPDATE: I see that it does eventually find the flagged emails in the other mailboxes. It is a workaround, but not the functionality I want. It also finds any email with the word flagged. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Where did my flagged email in iPhone/iPad go

Today I looked for a flagged email among dozens and found the message "No Flagged Emails." Same on the iPad . What has happened? Is this another " update" bug? I've lost a lot of important stuff--the very kind I want to flag.

How do you delete permanently flagged emails?

    Hi diamonddoug,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
To delete a single message or conversation in Mail without opening it, swipe left across the message and tap Delete. This works for messages in any Mailbox, including Flagged messages.
