E5 has no Hotmail notification tone

Hi there,
I've just set up my E5 with a hotmail email account and, despite receiving emails OK and showing the quantity unread in the inbox via the Standby (home) screen, I get no tone or aural notification.
In my settings I have the email tone set and when previewed this does work - i just get no tone from the home screen as i do when I receive an SMS.
Can anybody help please? More information available on request...

I use Gmail, had some issues opposite of yours. Would get the red badge saying I had an email, but nothing was there. After days of this, I deleted the email account, power cycled the phone and set the account up on the phone again. No problem since. You might try that.

Fore example, if I get a work email, I want to hear a DING, DING....If I get a personal email, I want to hear a BEEP, BEEP. Right now, any email from any account has the same notification. I want work incoming email notification to be different than personal incoming notification. The only semi-workaround I've seen is just disable any notification for the Hotmail account, so only work emails would notify. But then I don't know when I get a personal email. Even the lowely Blackberry Torch 9800 has this feature..not iPhone 4s??

Message Notification Tones Broken

Hi,
Don't know if anybody has experienced this. The notification tones in messaging/email apps are broken; meaning there is a break while playing the tone. Either there is an annoying 'click' at the beginning, which is mostly the case, or the tone 'breaks' sometime in the middle while playing.
I've tried disabling the sound enhancements and different combinations too, but it happens almost all the time during every notification; SMS, Whatsapp, etc. I am on .757. Was happening on .681 too. Not that it is a major issue, but it is quite annoying.
Anybody aware of this problem?

It would be worth having the files reinstalled via a software repair:
1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

Getting notification tones but no messages/emails have been received...

My phone will give a notification tone and flash every few seconds but no emails or messages have come through and I'm finding it really frustrating. I've tried re-starting the device but as soon as I receive an email or text it happens again despite the messages being read. Any help much appreciated thanks

Click on your Messages icon then press your menu key and select View Folder. If you go through each folder, you'll probably find the messages that have been triggering those notifications. BlackBerry phones don't usually notify you of messages that aren't there so something has to be triggering it.
Do that and post back with your results.

Hello, Yes I have tested this with Android Lollipop and found that when the tone is set to silent within the BBM settings I do not receive any audible notification. Testing summary: Access the More menu - Settings - Tone dropdown and set Tone to BBM
- Send a test message and an audible notification occursAccess the More menu - Settings - Tone dropdown and set Tone to Silent
- Sent a test message and no audible notification occurs To allow us to assist further please follow the steps below to create a support ticket and submit logs. Once submitted someone will contact you to troubleshoot the issue.
1) Browse to www.BBM.com/support/blackberry
2) Locate the Need more help section is the bottom right of the page
3) Select Contact us for additional assistance
4) Complete the web form, provide as much detail as possible such as PINS involved and timestamps
5) Select Submit to create the support ticketOnce the ticket has been submitted you will receive an email with your ticket number. This ticket number can then be used to submit logs. To collect logs use the following KB:

Changing default iOS Push Notification Tone???

Does anyone else think that Apple should allow you to change the default push notification tone?
For Example: if you set up Twitter notifications the default tone is Tri-tone and there is no way of changing this, other than jailbraking which I would never do.
Or has anyone found a way of doing this that I don't know about

Sure I will share my experience.
In Our case we are getting error in SMP303 NetworkIOException: : com.notnoop.exceptions.NetworkIOException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect.
At SMP303 Server's Services, one Service Need to be Checked.To come out of this we changed User of Windows Service "SAP Mobile Platform" from Local User to one of our Networks Domain User(Domain User has the Internet Access through Proxy).
After this NetworkIOException cleared and SMP303 started sending Push Notifications.

Ringtone vs Notification Tone Volume

Just got my Incredible a week ago. I've noticed that the volume level of the ringtone is much lower than the volume of the notification tones. I loaded an mp3 as well and assigned it as the ringtone with the same result.
The notification tones are much louder than the ringtones. So much louder that I have to keep the ringer volume down enough that the actual ringtone is very quiet.
Has anyone else noticed this?

In CUCM, go to Device > Phone > Select Phone > Recording Tone Local Volume / Recording Tone Remote Volume.

Constant freezes, shut offs, no preloaded or downloaded ringtones n notifications tones

First, I was losing charge, come to find out my charger was dying and now dead.
That much is corrected.
But now, there are no preloaded ringtones, very few ringtones that I downloaded, or notification tones.
My alarm did NOT turn on this morning and I made certain it was set!
When I click on setting for sounds; notifications or phone ringtones the same error message appears on both:
"Sorry!
The application Settings (process.com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Force close button."
How do i fix this?

I can provide a recommendation to ensure we get the phone in working order!
I'm glad you have been able to correct the power/charge issue.
Have preloaded ringtones ever been present in the phone? If so, when did you notice them missing? That with the fact your alarm didn't work leads me to believe there is a conflict somewhere in the software, for this I suggest a hard reset. Its usually not the first thing I like to jump in to, but in this case I feel it's the best option. Then after the reset, the phone will reboot and ask you to sign into Google/Gmail, this will bring back your contacts and calendar events. You will want to set up the apps again and the home screens. The SD card does not get touched, so you're golden with your media files.
Please advise your outcome with the master/hard reset.

I rented a movie via Itunes on my PC but half-way through the download recieved a "An unknown error has occured (-50)" notification. This is not my first rental, and I have verified my network and all connections to be good. Will I still be charged?

Has the movie file been corrupted? Can I recover the rental even though the time has elapsed? Will I be charged?

Did you figure this out? I haven't rented a movie in this new iTunes yet and saw one tonight I wanted to rent. Same fricken thing is happening to me. I hate this new iTunes, and I really hate that there are problems like this....why the heck do they have to fix something that isn't broken and break it? This just really stinks.

In your SD card, create the following folder structure where you can copy paste your custom ringtones into the different folders. The top level of the SD card will be the SDcard drive.
SDcard drive:/audio/media/ringtones
SDcard drive:/audio/media/notifications
SDcard drive:/audio/media/alarms
You would put your custom ringtones in the ringtones folder and the text message and email notification tones in the notifications folder. Once the files are in there and the phone rescans (might require a reboot) the SD card, the custom files with be available in the selection lists.

Trying to find HTC One Notification Tone

Hey Everyone I used to have a Galaxy S2 and there was a default notification tone called OneClick, after updating from Gingerbread to ICS, the Message tone disappeared. Recently I heard it on a HTC and after going into my local Telstra Shop found it is still on all the HTC phones and its called "OneClick". I have tried Mobile Fun, no luck, tried live support, no luck, tried googling it, back in 2010 some guys on Whirlpool were able to locate the tone but no one actually said where to get it from. So what I am asking out there in the big wide world is.....where on earth can I get that Notification Tone from? I want it for my Galaxy S3. I believe it is a Telstra only notification tone as all overseas models dont seem to have that tone. I would appreciate anyone that may be able to direct me to where I can obtain the notification tone called OneClick. Appreciate anyones help on the matter. CheersAgent Michael Scarn

Hi Jeff Thanks for that, unfortunately I have already checked that site and have gone through the tones and no luck. I went through them again though just incase I had missed it before, but no OneClick, as I mentioned before for some reason the overseas models dont have them and it would appear as though the OneClick tone is only on Telstra Handsets. If you are able to pull it off your Samsung or HTC and email it to me I would greatly appreciate it, but if not thats fair enough too. Cheers for you suggestion anyway

Why do i keep hearing a notification tone when I turned off all notifications and also put my macbook on do not disturb?

First I was hearing a notification tone intermitantly when an email came in; it was never consistent and only started after I'd had my macbook for about 7 weeks. Today, I found the way to turn off all notifications and put the computer on permanent do not disturb in system preferences. Now I'm getting the tone sort of at random. Can anybody tell me what is going on? I have a 2014 macbook pro 15".

Yes. Reset network settings. Head to Settings -> General -> Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.
