E5 internet troubles plz answer!!!

how can i go on the internet with my nokia e5 without using wifi or wlan or something ? plz answer

Hehe, "perhaps" the company you pay your bills for using the mobile........you know, phone calls, sms, mms and so.....Over and out.
If you know a search engine like www.duckduckgo.com, then put in the operators name there and maybe you can find their phone numberusing your E5 making that call or ...otherwise...

Don't be rude! This is a community of volunteers, and people will answer when they can.
You've only left 24 hours after asking the first time before you started another topic with exactly the same question in... It is the weekend, and usually quiet here.
We all know what it's like when we've got problems and want them sorting asap, there's no point making multiple posts with the same thing, as people will just get bored reading them.
Does it just say "Call" or display their number?
You could try checking to make sure the names/numbers aren't in the memory twice - this can have adverse effects, though I don't think it's the case in this situation - worth a try.

  • Internet troubles

Got a new MBP, 15inch, late 2008 and am having trouble getting on internet.
My wife's Powerbook gets on there fine as well as our iPod Touch 2nd gen but this Macbook Pro is having issues.
It'll recognize my wireless network and then it won't, I'll put in the password and it'll reject it (even though I KNOW it's correct), network timeout, etc?
I've tried restarting the Airport Extreme but nothing helps. Again, this only happens with my new Macbook Pro, late '08, unibody.
I'm wondering if, when I did the MIgration Assistant, of settings/files from Powerbook to this, if there's something there that's providing confusion here.
    Thanks

The orange light on the front is for Wireless Protected Setup. Can't be used on the FiOS routers at the moment due to a lack of software support the last I've heard. It honestly does sound like the router was bricked either from a defect or a failed firmware upgrade, though to be sure, hold down the reset button on the back for 30 seconds, power off the router for 30 seconds holding the button down still, and then power it up holding down the reset button for 30 seconds. Then let go. See if the router will boot.

  • Frustrating Internet Troubles

    Hi,
For the past few weeks I have been having the most annoying trouble with my connection to the internet from my MacBook Pro. I live in a dorm where we connect to the internet via LAN. Last quarter there were no problems connecting, and my internet was blazing fast. However, recently my connection is either extremely sluggish or non-existent. Although, at times I will open my browser and it will load a few pages with speed and then it will stop, saying it has lost or cannot connect to the server. My roommate is having no trouble on his PC and others that I know with Macs are having no trouble either. Also, I have the same troubles with other networks unconnected to the school, like a Starbucks. My network settings say that I have connection, and yet there is none. Can anyone help?!

From your post you're saying that a wired connection in your dorm and a wireless connection at Starbucks exhibit the same problem?
I'd start by making sure that (or at least trying to have) your Network configuration for both Ethernet & Airport is set to use DHCP - which allows your network setup to adjust itself to the correct connection settings.
If you have static (manual) settings they might be conflicting with the sub-networks that you're joining.

  • My router still won't let my iPod connect to the internet help plz!

a little help on how to fix my routers settins so dat it lets me get internet on my iPod plz?

    Hi,
Does the iPod see and join the Wi-Fi network?
Does the iPod have a self-assigned IP address? This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA26003 provides more details about self-assigned IP addresses.
What type of wireless security is being used and how many characters are in the network password?
If you haven't already, try power cycling the router and restarting the iPod.
You can restart the iPod touch by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again.
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 provides other general tips that may resolve the issue.

  • Internet trouble using Macbook and Airport extreme

I have a new Macbook and an older airport extreme base station. I'm trying to access the internet with a dial-up connection, however, after the base station dials the number it gets hung up on "connecting to your ISP" and I can't surf the net. I've contacted my ISP and they said that the connection is fine. I've tried everything that I can think of......please help...
    Jesse

I set it up using the cd that came with it and 90% of the time it is unable to make connections to the internet.
Unless something has changed recently, I'm not aware that Linksys provides a CD setup for Macs. However, you can access the Linksys's setup via a web browser, like Safari.
My question is can I just buy a airport extreme base station and hook it up to her dsl and use it as a stand alone?
You certainly could and it would work just fine.
Does it need any other equipment other that the base station and a wireless macbook?
You will just need an Ethernet cable to connect the AEBS to the DSL modem.

  • Questions!?! plz answer iam sad without my music!

my ipod mini went through the washer when my mom put my pants in and now it keeps coming up with the sad ipod icon on the screen and it sounds like water moving around inside when it trys to start. is their any way i can get it to work? or is it dead and gone? should i buy a new one?

    Hello,
It is almost true that your iPod is completely dead and it is also loss the warranty.
Having said that, you can have a try. First open the iPod accordingly to the instruction showed below:-
    http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/index.cfm?page=Video/directory.html
Secondly, leave it open and put on a dry place for few days, do remember do not use the hair blower (hot or warm) to speed up the drying process.
Afterward, follow the suggestions below to deal with the Sad iPod problem
    Hello,
If a sad iPod icon or an exclamation point and folder icon appears on your iPod’s screen, or with sounds of clicking or HD whirring, it is usually the sign of a hard drive problem and you have the power to do something about it now. Your silver bullet of resolving your iPod issue – is to restore your iPod to factory settings.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
If you're having trouble, try these steps at different levels one at a time until the issue is resolved. These steps will often whip your iPod back into shape.
Make sure you do all the following “TRYs”
    A. Try to wait 30 minutes while iPod is charging.
    B. Try another FireWire or USB through Dock Connector cable.
    C. Try another FireWire or USB port on your computer .
    D. Try to disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire and USB ports.
    E. Try to download and install the latest version of iPod software and iTunes
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    F. Try these five steps (known as the five Rs) and it would conquer most iPod issues.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
    G. Try to put the iPod into Disk Mode if it fails to appear on the desktop
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
If none of these steps address the issue, you may need to go to Intermediate level listed below in logical order. Check from the top of the lists to see if that is what keeping iPod from appearing on your computer in order for doing the Restore.
    Intermediate Level
    A. Try to connect your iPod with another computer with the iPod updater pre-installed.
    B. Still can’t see your iPod, put it in Disk Mode and connect with a computer, instead of doing a Restore on iPod Updater. Go and format the iPod instead.
    For Mac computer
    1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
    2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
    3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
    4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
    5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
    6. Open the iPod Updater and click “Restore”
    For Window computer
    Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
    Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iPod Updater and click “Restore”
In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“Partition Magic”.
    C. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
    Tips
    a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iPod updater.
    b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
    c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”

    Advance Level
    A. Diagnostic mode solution
If you have tried trouble shooting your iPod to no avail after all the steps above, chances are your iPod has a hardware problem. The iPod's built-in Diagnostic Mode is a quick and easy way to determine if you have a "bad" iPod.
You need to restart your iPod before putting it into Diagnostic Mode. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack. Toggle it on and off to be safe.
Press and hold the following combination of buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.
    iPod 1G to 3G: "Menu" and "Play/Pause"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select"
The Apple logo will appear and you should feel the hard drive spinning up. Press and hold the following sequence of buttons:
iPod 1G to 3G: "REW", "FFW" and "Select"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Back" and "Select"
You will hear an audible chirp sound (3G models and higher) and the Apple logo should appear backwards. You are now in Diagnostic Mode. Navigate the list of tests using "REW" and "FFW". The scroll wheel will not function while in diagnostic mode. For further details on Diagnostic mode can be found at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/
Try to do the 5in1, HDD R/W and HDD scan tests. Some successful cases have been reported after the running the few tests under the Diagnostic mode. In case it does not work in your case, and the scan tests reports show some errors then it proves your iPod has a hardware problem and it needs a repairing service.
    B. Format your iPod with a start disk
I have not tried this solution myself, I heard that there were few successful cases that the users managed to get their iPod (you must put your iPod in disk mode before connecting with a computer) mounted by the computer, which was booted by a system startup disk. For Mac, you can use the Disk Utility (on the Tiger OS system disk), for PC user, you can use the window OS system disk. Try to find a way to reformat your iPod, again it does not matter which format (FAT32, NTFS or HFS+) you choose, the key is to erase the corrupted system files on the iPod. Then eject your iPod and do a Reset to switch out from Disk Mode. Reboot your computer at the normal way, connect your iPod back with it, open the iPod updater, and hopefully your iPod will appear there for the Restore.
If none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired.
Consider setting up a mail-in repair for your iPod http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
Or visit your local Apple Retail Store http://www.apple.com/retail/
In case your iPod is no longer covered by the warranty and you want to find a second repairing company, you can try iPodResQ at your own risk
    http://www.ipodresq.com/index.php
Just in case that you are at the following situation
    Your iPod warranty is expired
You don’t want to pay any service charges
You are prepared to buy a new one
You can’t accept the re-sell value of your broken iPod
Rather than leave your iPod as paper-weight or throw it away.
You can try the following, but again, only do it as your last resort and at your own risk.
Warning ! – It may or may not manage to solve your problem, and with a risk that you may further damage your iPod, which end up as an expensive paper weight or you need to pay more higher repairing cost. Therefore, please re-consider again whether you want to try the next level
    Last Resort Level
    1. . Disconnecting the Hard Drive and battery inside the iPod – Warning !! Your iPod warranty will be waived once you open the iPod.
In Hong Kong there are some electronic shops offering an iPod service for Sad iPod, the first thing they do is to open up the iPod’s case and disconnecting the battery and the Hard Drive from the main board of the iPod. Wait for 5-10 minutes and reconnecting them back. The reason behind which I can think of is to do a fully reset of a processor of the iPod. In case you want do it itself and you believe that you are good on fixing the electronics devices and have experience to deal with small bits of electronic parts, then you can read the following of how to open the iPod case for battery and HDD replacement (with Quicktimes)
    http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/index.cfm?page=Video/directory.html
2.Press the reset button on the Hard Drive inside the iPod – Suggestion from Kill8joy
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2438774#2438774
Have I tried these myself? No, I am afraid to do it myself as I am squeamish about tinkering inside electronic devices, I have few experiences that either I broke the parts (which are normally tiny or fragile) or failed to put the parts back to the main case. Therefore, I agree with suggestion to have it fixed by a Pro.
    2. Do a search on Google and some topics on this discussion forum about “Sad iPod”

  • Wireless Internet Trouble - Vista Ultimate on intel iMac w/Bootcamp

I successfully installed Vista Ultimate onto my new iMac using bootcamp. However, when I boot into Vista, I cannot connect to the internet using the built in wireless card.
When I go to device manager, Vista recognizes that I have a Broadcom wireless adapter, but it gives an error saying that it cannot work. The info that it gives me is below.
    *Device: Broadcom 802.11 Network Adapter*
    *Driver: Provider: Microsoft*
    *Driver: 4.82.28.56*
*Deviced Status: This device cannot start (code 10)*
I tried installing the broadcom drive from my leopard DVD and it crashed Vista. I deleted the current driver (which doesn't work) and reinstalled a driver that I downloaded and it didn't work. I just downloaded and installed Bootcamp update to 2.1 and still I get the same device status.
Can anyone help! I can't even get to the point where other people are having problems because their wifi is super slow. At least that would be progress for me!

I have Vista home premium 32 bit, on the iMac and my I downloaded Broadcom driver version 4.170.25.12. Going through a slightly odd Broadcom website I found and downloaded it. The speed I get is perfect but in the course of a day it will disconnect from the router frequently for maybe 5-10 mins. Still not good enough so at the moment I am stuck with a ethernet cable across the room. What driver version are you using?

  • Internet Trouble W. Service Provider ( I.O.)

So i have IO Digital Cable As My Internet & Cable provider. The internet was installed into my home pc desktop but i frequently used to switch the Ethernet Jack and plug it into my Mac Book Pro to use internet on my laptop. Now as of late i've not been able to connect w/ the Ethernet cable to the internet on my laptop. (but it works fine on the desktop). I called I.O. Cust Care for online support and someone gave me generic advice but obviously had no clue what I really needed and that was INTERNET CONNECTION ON MY MACBOOK PRO. We tried rebooting/reseting/pluging/unpluging/giving it 10mins/ network diagnostics/ and nothing seemed to work.
I have a feeling it is something very simple please help!!!

Many less major brands of Cable modems commit their equipment to connect to the first device that connects (by Hardware Address, aka M.A.C. address).
When you later try another computer or a Router, you cannot connect, because the device you are trying to attach has a different M.A.C. address. If they (or occasionally you) can do a deep reset to their equipment, it will accept a new M.A.C. address \[at which point it will work with your MacBook, but not with your PC].
The solution many users have adopted is to buy a Router, and then you can connect both computers at once or in any order. You can also ask your ISP to provide a Router, but they generally charge much more on a monthly basis, so most users just buy their own, then tell the ISP they got a "new computer" \[which is true, the Router is a new computer], and connect the Router as the new device with a new M.A.C. Address.
If you think you may want wireless sometime, many wireless Routers include 4 Ethernet ports as well, so you can have both in any combination and move back and forth at will.
There are a few mashups you can get into if they have told you to connect by any means other than "using DHCP". Often, these smaller ISPs will change their IP addresses, and if you do not track it correctly, you lose. If they have given you a Username and password, that may indicate use of PPPoE, which requires a special set-up.

  • Wireless internet trouble

After getting our new iBook, we decided to get a wireless router for wireless internet. First, we got a D-Link DI-624, which constantly disconnected and reconnected by itself and which we soon stopped using. We tried it with multiple firmwares, and we tried many, many times to get some help from both the D-Link and AT&T DSL customer supports, but got nothing. Then, we got a Netgear WGT624, which is better overall because of its range and its mostly better reliability. However, we still keep having (quite enraging) problems. For many minutes at a time, we will have NO wireless signal from it, and I know that it isn't the Airport Card or the signal range, because it picks up other signals and is within a yard of the router. This can get very annoying and is sometimes even disruptive to work. Please help -- we've gone through every setting, gone through hundreds of dollars of investments, and it isn't working. How can I solve this problem?

This sounds a lot like interference from some other source (another wireless router, a cordless phone, etc.)
You might want to try a third party application like iStumbler to see if the device appears completely off the air whenever you lose signal. For example, if you can normally see your router as well as one or two others, and your router suddenly goes away but you can still see the other two, that's indicative that it may be interference preventing you from seeing your router. If all the routers go away, that implies an issue with your machine or AirPort card, or really strong interference from another source.
