  • Language Pack - E72

I have an unbranded E72, I bought it from the UK and i want to install a Greek Language pack from a Nokia Care Centre.
I am wondering if, after installing the Language pack i will still be able to upgrade the firmware of my device?
It's so frustrating since the competition supports more than 30 languages and keyboards out of the box, Nokia is sleeping.
If froyo turns out to be good i ll switch to android.

  • Greek Language for Nokia 3100

I have a Nokia 3100B and wanted to add Greek Language. Please drive me how to do so.
    Thanks a lot

it is not possible to do that. every region has specific language packs installed on the phone. there is no way to just add another language to the device.
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....

    http://servername:50100/index.html not work also

This is probably because Greek ISO code has been changed. We have this issue on ALE between 4.6c and 4.7. We need to convert the old code of EL to new GR. Try using GR or EL for your ITS.

  • Language Packs and Language Support

i am a filmmaker and i type my scripts on pages'08, and recently i started working on a screenplay, which includes several languages besides english.
my problem is with arabic, which is written from right to left (RTL), i was wondering if there was some kind of plugin or language pack that i could install, in order to write arabic with correct alignment and punctuation.
or any other solution for that problem.
    thanx

However, large minorities in India, Western Europe and the US use RTL
There is a high level issue: The Latin script has been simplified by casters and compositors through five centuries and in the process it has shed its contextual calligraphic complexity. Eric Gill mourned the loss of the et-ligature in justification even in private press prints.
Monotype Naskh was introduced in 1936 or 1937. It could meet the minimal requirement of kerning Arabic Naskh since the Monotype assembled sorts and not matrices. But not until Monotype introduced laser imaging was Nastaliq possible.
If you look in the Monotype Recorder, New Series, you will see that until 1981 Urdu Nastaliq was beeing published in a process that began with calligraphers penning the page, then lithographers photographed the page and copied the master onto the printing plate.
Reproducing Nastaliq in metal or film would in practice be impossible. If memory serves, the Müteferrika press in eighteenth century Istanbul reproduced Ottoman Turkish in about 1500 sorts for Naskh which is not as geometrically complex as Nastaliq.
The problems become progressively more complex in digital mastering for hardcopy and finally in digital mastering for softcopy. Apple's TrueType Specification introduces a feature selector that layers the vocalisation on the consonants for children.
Thinking of the Arabic script as a layering model is also as far as I am aware what Thomas Milo does in his Decotype Naskh for Adobe InDesign ME. I assume that Diwan Mishafi for Apple Advanced Typography does something of the same. I do not know what Kamal Mansour's Monotype Nastaliq for OpenType layout does.
Yannis Haralambous has in his book a discussion of insertion in the TrueType Specification. Insertion is intended for Devanagari where the vowel character maps to an opening glyph code and a closing glyph code that embrace a consonant sequence. Again here you have a glyph representation that does not map one to one to a character representation.
One of the problems with this is that if you do not know the script and the specific writing system, deducing what to search is difficult. Another problem with this is that if you depend on a stream of glyph codes to deduce the character codes intended by the original author, the layering model for Arabic and the insertion model for Devanagari pose problems.
You can compare the situation for composing models for Arabic and Devanagari to the situation for colour separation models. There is active research on perceptual colour apperance and you can't say that one model is better than another model - it depends. Arabic and Indic pose some of the same problems, and commercial constraints on softcopy will do to Arabic and Indic what commercial constraints on hardcopy did to Latin, Greek and Cyrillic in the Renaissance and Rococo.
    Best wishes,

  • Language Packs on New N95 update

I was notified by Nokia Software Updater that a new firmware was available for my N95. I visited the Nokia site and indeed by entering my product code (0548763) there was a new update. Note that last week I was being told that I already had the latest version, so I assumed that a new ver for this product code was available.
So I updated to ver 12 from ver 11. It updated OK without any problems, however
    1. I lost the Greek Language from my phone
    2. There seems to be no new componets in it (i.e. AGPS) as it has been reported from other that did the updade.
    3. The phone numbering system has been changed to 123 123 123 intead of the 123123123 format it had before.
I don't really care about AGPS but how can I have the Greek language back. It is very important to me.
Question: Shouldn't Nokia inform that some language packs could be lost?

Actually, welcome to the world of dodgy grey importers :-(
The updater just gives you what your phone says it is, so it obviousely wasn't from Greece originally.
And you should have AGPS - see how fast your GPS fix time is now.

  • 6300 AFTER UPDATE GREEK LANGUAGE GONE

I UPDATE MY NEW 6300 FROM VER 5.50 TO VER 6.01.THE NSU WROTE THAT THIS VER IS COMPATIBLE WITH MY REGION.
    RESULT,THE GREEK LANGUAGE GONE!!!
DO YOU KNOW ATIP HOW TO RESTORE THE OLDER VERSION OF FIRMWARE?
    THANKS
    COSTAS GREECE

You can't reapply an older firmware, and that wouldn't help anyway.
This issue occurs when the retail trade has had language packs addes after production to sell a phone in a different region than originally intended.
The only way to reapply the language is to have it done at an authorised service point.

  • Window 8.1 Chinese character cannot display properly in a game even though I have downloaded and install all chinese language packs

    Hi,
The operation system for my computer is Window 8.1. I am currently trying to install a chinese game. Even though I have downloaded and install all the chinese language pack, I have even set the regional language locale to chinese (similified / traditional),
the chinese characters will not display properly in the game. Some people told me i need to set the locale to Chinese PRC, but I am not sure where to download this PRC language pack for window 8.1 (as I only have chinese simplified and chinese traditional).
I would greatly appreciate if someone can give me a hand in solving this problem. Thank you for your help in advance.

  • Language packs: Everything's at 99%

    Hi,
    I've got WSUS on Server 2012 R2 and 10 Server 2012 R2 servers.
WSUS is quite happily installing all the patches, but they're all stuck at 99% compliance. They're all reporting back that the UK language pack KB2839636 isn't installed.
They all have English-UK set as their default language and display language. KB2839636 doesn't appear in Windows Update.
How can I get this update installed and get 100%?
    P.S. I hate language packs :)

  • Problem installing Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 Multilingual User Interface Language Packs

I downloaded Windows6.1-KB2483139-x64-en-US.exe but when I ran it on my Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (as Administrator) it does not run properly.  I noticed it created a new cabinet file named "lp" briefly, then deleted it.  Nothing else
    appears on the screen.
My goal is to install Chinese display fonts on my server.  Please help.

    Hi,
First of all, if you want Chinese display language, you need to choose chinese in the drop down list on the download page. Here's a direct link in case you need it.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=2634(chinese simplified...)
Windows6.1-KB2483139-x64-zh-CN.exe is the file name for the Chinese simplified language pack.
    1. The exefile extracts the file cabinet lp.cab which is the file you need to import the language pack.
    2. Start lpksetup.exe and Point out the cab-file you just extracted.
If you want to do it with cmdline, you can do it with dism in an elevated command prompt as well:
    Dism /online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\test\lp.cab
Note that you still need to create a policy or change default language in some way for your users.

  • Cannot open Language settings from Tile view, and unable to install Language packs from WSUS.

    Hi all,
I have a bunch of Windows 2012 R2 servers that have been deployed from a syspreped image where the language has been defaulted to "en-GB", rather than the default "en-US".
I also have a WSUS 3 server running on a Windows 2008r2 machine. This tells me that a number of language packs are required by these 2102r2 machine, namely:
KB2839636 - English (United Kingdom) Language Pack
KB2839636 - English (United States) Language Pack
KB3012997 - English (United Kingdom) Language Pack
KB3012997 - English (United States) Language Pack
These have been approved to be installed on the 2012r2 machine, however, running Window Update on the machines shows nothing. Opening the Control panel, then navigating to "Add Language", then "options", shows no additional updates.
The I tried to search and run the languages control panel directly from the Windows Tile view by simply typing "language" and clicking the 'Language' option in the search results, but then get the following error dialogue box:
    [Window Title]
    C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Packages\windows.immersivecontrolpanel_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Indexed\Settings\en-GB\Classic_{bf782cc9-5a52-4a17-806c-2a894ffeeac5}.settingcontent-ms
    [Content]
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
The issue I have here is that I am logged on with the Domain Admin profile, but the path above refers to the local admin profile - however the file listed has full permissions for all 'Administrators'.
    So I have two questions:
How should the Language pack updates get installed from WSUS?
How do I fix the problem with trying to open the Language option direct from the tile search view?
    Many thanks
    Chris

    Might try these ones.

  • How to prevent LPRemove from deleting language packs?

    Hi,
I have a problem with Windows 8.1 MUI deployment - unused language packs are disappearing after few days (weeks maybe).
As far as i know there is a task "LPRemove" in "scheduled tasks" but i don't know how it works.
    I found this link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh825699.aspx#LPRemovalTimer
and there is a note about it:
"In Windows 8, the language pack removal runs on all Windows editions. However, any languages that are selected by users in the language preferences section of the control panel are not removed. Users can choose to run multiple languages and any language
packs that are not used by the user are removed from the computer"
In my enviroment I'd like to install all language packs used in company but set only one by user GPO settings. When someone from other country will logon to computer his GPO will be set and he will get his own language. But this situation may occur only once
a year (for example). As far as understand the note language pack will be deleted earlier.
So... Can I safely disable / remove this task from scheduled tasks? Or this is a bug or I'm do it in wrong way?
    Regards
    Michal

    Hi Michal,
What's your edition of Windows? Windows 8 Single Language editions can only run a single language.
If you are using non-single language edition, according to the library article "Also, any language pack that is installed by a user is not removed.", after deployment, you also need to install it by yourself with the injected language pack.
In addition, you could disable or delete that task.
