Hi Marco,
Sorry for the late reply. Don't have access to Internet afterhours for a fortnight. Anyway, back to topic.
A couple of questions: I supposed that PC Suite can only detect your N70, the first time the connection was set up. (Or is it that only the first time after your laptop/PC reboots?)
Can you also try this? On the second attempt to connect:
1. Right click on PC Suite tray icon, select "Synchronise".
2. Click "Select Phone".
3. Click "Connection...". Ensure that bluetooth connection(s) is/are selected. (For my LifeBook, the "Bluetooth (Toshiba)" will go unchecked whenever I turned off the Wireless switch to off.) Click "Close".
4. Click "Refresh". This may take a while, typically under a minute and sometimes a couple of retries.
These are my ritual steps to get bluetooth connection to my N80. ^_^;
Let us know. Cheers.

  • E50, PC Suite: Problems in Calendar & Contacts

Hai. Installed newest Nokia PC Suite 7.1.51.0 on my E50
When i am in contacts i can't see all phone numbers in detailed section. For e. g.  have one contact with two numbers of same type. Only one is displayed.
In main view of the PC Suite i can see the to do's  typed in through phone. But in calendar view or in list view not. F5 is done before. And from PC Suite i can't generate a new ToDo.

    Hey, don't give up yet...
I think that IMediaControl2 is one interface from PC Suite's ServiceLayer.exe component. Somehow installation can not register ServiceLayer.exe in your PC....
It is quite difficult to know what is going wrong...It would be nice to get some traces from your PC. (Then I can compare traces with my PC and find out what may cause this problem).
If you can take the logs, do this:
    1. Go to http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Filemon.html and download Filemon (it is end of the page).
    2. Start FileMon.exe and click 'Options', 'Filter/Highlight..' and set string: *servicelayer*;regsvr*;*services.exe*;*service~1*;*ConnectionManager* to 'Include' option.
    3. Go to http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html and download Regmon (it is end of the page).
    4. Start RegMon.exe and click 'Options', 'Filter/Highlight..' and set string: *servicelayer*;regsvr*;*services.exe*;*service~1*;*ConnectionManager* to 'Include' option.
    5. Click Start, Run, give command:
    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\PCSuite\Services\ServiceLayer.exe" /service
    and then OK
    7. After that wait 20 seconds and open Nokia Connection Manager.
    8. If same error again, save logs and attach those log files to your response message....

  • Its imposible to download OVI Suite. Always stops ...

I was not able to dowload Nokia OVI Suite since friday (12march10). Result was always the same: stop at 99%. I`ve tryed different browsers with no success. Seems like sum hashes doesn`t match. Meanwhile I`ve dowloaded many other files from other sites without problem. I don`t believe the problem is in my comp. I use Windows7 enterprise and I have high speed internet connection (20Mb).

    Hi!
I had the same problem, using ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
There is nothing to do with Firewall. Antivirus scans downloaded file after downlnoad has finished (or in the last second, that is why "99% is visible).
It is funny, but i have two workarounds for this
    1) Download latest Eset antivirus version (at this moment 4.2.x is available). This helped for me one time, but I am not shure, is this permanent solution.
    OR
    usually - working! :
    0) Go to Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, DELETE, and leve only TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES checked, click DELETE, this will help to find downloaded installation.
WARNING! This will delete Your INTERNET EXPLORER cache files ... but I think, noone is really using them thistime anymore. So no problems.
    a) Download and install WINRAR archiver (it is necessery fopr directory browsing, as Windows Explorer blocks normal listing of Temporary Internet Files folder).
    b) Download file, until 99% appears.
    c) Open Winrar, goto c:\Documents And Settings\<YOUR USER NAME>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\
    d) There will be a lot of directories (If You did not clear hte cache, or anyway).
    e) sort them in SIZE by clicking on size column in winrar
    f) then just open every directory and look for contetn, there will be Nokia_Ovi_Suite_____ in one of them,
    g) then just click and drug file to Your desktop!
    UOLAA!
I think, problem is in NOKIA installation archive - it takes too much time and effort to decompress and scan it for NOD AV, but, do not ask me for that .

  • Ovi Suite 2 always crash while inside "Photos"

I notice it does not crash immediately but always crash after I start to move scroll up/down button while insides the Photos thumbnail view.  But it seems to be OK if I scroll up/down while OviSuite is displaying the thumbnails from the phone.
Setting the app to WinXP SP3 or Vista SP2 compatibility mode do not help at all.  Same problem with or with the phone connected to the OviSuite.
    Running Win7, 64bit version.

    hi gviewfinder ,
    Could you please try this?
    1. Uninstall Ovi Suite, PC Connectivity solution and Nokia Connectivity cable drivers from Add/remove program if anything is there.
    2. Delete the files from here If anything is there
    C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Nokia\Ovi Suite
    C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache
    3. Please search and download MSI clean up utility from microsoft website
Once installed please select the programs related to Nokia and click remove.
    Restart Computer.
Then download from microsoft website and install Windows Installer, so that the installer is upto date.
    4. Restart the PC
    5. Download and Install latest OviSuite http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite

  • E50/PC Suite: no pairing possible

    Hi there,
my E50 is not recognised anymore by the PC Suite application. When I stuck in the USB cable in the phone, the message that the phone is connected appears but the USB icon in the phone display does not appear. Furthermore I receive the information from my computer that a faulty USB equipment has been detected.
What could be the cause of the problem? Any ideas?
I've already installed the new software of the PC Suite but the problem still remains.
    Thanks
    T.

Thomas - Thanks for answering my questions, but I actually meant them more in a rhetorical sense to see where diagnostics would point us towards !
However, it sounds as if everything should be working - but then again you didn't need me to tell you that !
I'm just re-reading this thread and was wondering if you could clarify the exact problem you're experiencing as it sounds like you're having more than one :
-> Your first post says that your E50 isn't being recognised by PC Suite - is this still happening ? Does it happen when you do a particular action (i.e. is it recreatable or intermittent ?)
-> In another one of your posts you said "Perfect! After installing the new software the sync works again." - could you define what you mean by sync please ? Do you mean a synchronisation in terms of calendar, contacts etc. or do you mean a backup of the phone to PC ?
-> When you state "After trying to make a backup of the data on the mobile, the same problem occured again" do you mean you were trying to back your phone data up to the memory card in your phone or to your PC ? What was the same problem ? Do you mean your phone not being recognised when you plug it into your USB port ?
Also - when doing any of these actions above and in your original post, does the phone ever crash or become unresponsive ?
I know these questions might sound confrontational, but they're not meant as such - I'm just trying to get a handle of exactly what's happening and why ..
I would think that there's pretty much two things you can try from here :
    1) As per my most recent post, you could try downloading PC Suite onto another PC that you have available and try syncing - this would eliminate your PC + any Windows updates from the equation - if it then works we've localised the problem down to an issue with your PC.
In answer to your question, it's feasible that it may be a Windows update that has caused the problem, but unlikely as there would be a much larger number of users reporting the same issue on the forums.
    1) Since a new version of PC Suite has been released (6.83 release 14.1), you could try installing this version to see whether it makes a difference (IF YOU DO THIS PLEASE FOLLOW THE NEW MORE COMPREHENSIVE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BELOW).
I'm going to be talking you through some quite complex PC stuff, so if you don't feel confident doing this, then I would advise you to take independent advice before going ahead with this (although I have done this many times in various forms and it is very painless !) Depending on your technical knowledge however you may want to take a backup of your PC first (just in case !)
As long as you follow the instructions below and have installed the Nokia applications in the default locations and don't delete anything I don't specifically mention below then you should be OK and won't need to backup any of your files on your PC as they will be reinstalled.
    1) Before you do anything make sure you have administrator rights to your PC before continuing the actions below
    2) Create a folder on your desktop and name it PCSuite683
    3) Visit http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite and follow the wizard to download the latest release for your phone and save the download into the above folder
    4) Download the PC Suite Cleaner application from :
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4144912
and save it in the above folder too.
    5) Goto Windows Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Nokia PC Suite
    6) Reboot your PC once the uninstallation has completed
    7) Go back to Control Panel and see if you have any other Nokia applications installed relating to your mobile phone - if you do - uninstall them too (INCLUDING THE CABLE DRIVERS)
    8) Double click on My Computer, and browse to the following folder : C:\Program Files - From here you will find a folder called Nokia - delete it. BE VERY CAREFUL DOING THIS - I AM ASSUMING THAT YOU HAVE A HOME PC AND AM ONLY RUNNING THE FOLLOWING NOKIA APPS : PC SUITE, LIFEBLOG AND SOFTWARE UPDATER WHICH YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST UNINSTALLED AS ABOVE. CAVEAT EMPTOR !
Just so you have a comparison, on my computer I have the following folders in the C:\Program Files\Nokia directory (you will not have all of these so don't worry if you don't see all of them) :
    -> Connectivity Cable Driver
    -> Nokia Lifeblog
    -> Nokia MTP
    -> Nokia PC Suite 6
    -> Nokia Software Launcher
    -> Nokia Software Updater
So as a comparison in my case if I uninstalled all these applications from Control Panel, then it'd be safe to delete the C:\Program Files\Nokia folder.
    9) Reboot again
    10) Once rebooted, goto your Start Menu and select Run and type "regedit" without the quotes. THIS IS AN ADVANCED UTILITY WHICH IF INCORRECTLY USED HAS THE CAPABILITY TO STOP YOUR COMPUTER FROM STARTING CORRECTLY - THEREFORE BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WHEN DOING THE FOLLOWING. You will be presented with a program with two panes - one on the left and one on the right.
In the left hand pane, navigate to :
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nokia
Right click on Nokia and delete it.
Also in the left hand pane, navigate to :
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nokia
and right click on this and also delete it.
If you get any errors when deleting :
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nokia
Just acknowledge them and carry on with the instructions below - do not continually try to delete this particular key.
You should be able to delete :
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nokia
    without ANY problems.
    Close regedit.
    11) Reboot again
    12) Run the PC Suite cleaner program that you saved above on your desktop
    13) Reboot again
    14) Install PC Suite that you saved above
    15) Yep you guessed it - reboot one more time
    16) Connect your phone to your PC
    17) See if you can backup, sync etc. without problems
Once again - apologies for the very long post ! I hope that you understand what I'm trying to get at and why.
Essentially before solving the issue we need to localise where the problem is happening (e.g. is it a phone, PC, hardware or software issue ?) and then home in on it and fix it.
If you are able to sync/backup successfully on another PC, then we can safely say the USB cable is OK and the phone is OK. If not, then we have taken the PC out of the equation - and it'd be either a USB cable of phone issue .. and so on ..
Hope this helps ! - please let me know how you get on.Message Edited by edwardquan on 03-May-200711:36 PM

  • Adobe Help: Creative Suite 5 always out-of-date?

Every time I open Adobe Help from any application, I get a message to update the content. This can be several times a day. I agree. I does and expands it. But in the local content listing, "Creative Suite 5" will list as "May 02, 2010" version, "out-of-date". I delete it (both on the Adobe Help app and on the finder), update it, to no avail. Next time I open the Adobe Help app it will prompt me to update the out-of-date local content. For a few days this was combined with a Flash CS5 help homepage error message, that has now disappeared and only the out-of-date local content issue remains... any ideas?

No, it's not that. When I go to the list under "Preferences/Local Content" all other files are "Current". And I can see that it is the only files that updates (it gets a blue update progress bar). Upon completion, it expands and again, posts as "May 02, 2010 out-of-date". Nothing else updates. If I close and reopen Adobe Help, this file will again be updated, repeating the same cycle...

  • Pc Suite: File Manager not working

I can't access file systems on my E50 using PC Suite's file manager, neither via Bluetooth nor via cable.
The message is something like "Can not connect to mobile phone" (Original German message: 'Verbinden zum Telefon nicht möglich'). When I tried the Video Manager I got something like 'Error while reading the file system of your mobile phone" (German message: 'Fehler beim Lesen des Dateisystems des Telefons').
Local access to file systems on the phone works fine. Resetting the whole phone, reformatting the SD card, and
updating PC Suite Support on the phone didn't solve the problem.
When I first got my E50 and had PC Suite 6.x, everything worked fine.
Win XP SP3 (Microsoft Bluetooth stack), PC Suite 7.1.18.0 German, Nokia E50 (latest firmware)
    Any ideas?
    Torsten

When it was working, I would open up windows explorer, browse to the Inbox folder under messages under Phone Browser, select all the messages and just drag and drop to c drive on my PC. then I would delete the messages using my phone. I am using IrDA to connect my 6233 to my PC. It has worked before, I have saved 100s of messages in this manner. I upgraded to the latest PC Suite, it worked once (because the name of the messages saved included the first few words of the message itself), i deleted the messages from my phone, when i reconnected the old messages still appear under pc suite, but these are not on my phone. i deleted the messages under pc suite and now can no longer view the messages on my phone. i am able to browse images and the memory card and phone memory but when selecting the Messages Inbox under PC Suite it always errors with the infamous 'Operation could not be performed' Thanks for your help!

  • PC Suite Communications Manager Blank Messages

    Hi,
I am using Windows XP SP3 with PC Suite 7.1.30.8. I am connecting to my Nokia 5310 through Bluetooth.
When I use the communications manager in PC suite to check on the SMSes on my phone, I see 5 blank messages. No matter how I try to delete these messages thru PC Suite, they always show up again when I sync. However on my phone itself, these blank message do hot show up. Example: I see 10 regular SMS and 5 blank SMS in PC suite, but when I access SMS directly on my phone, I only see the 10 regular SMS but not the 5 blank SMS.
Any way I can delete these blank SMSes?
    Thanks

  • PC Suite for N8

Is the N8 compatible with PC Suite as I've had enough of problems with Ovi Suite and just want to rvert back to PC Suite which always worked well with my old N73 and N80 phones.
It's time Nokia publicly admitted that Ovi Suite is a pile of c**p in terms of ease of use and continual software problems !!!

    @stewart66
Whilst pavilion_alex is correct in as much as latest version of PC Suite is concerned this is not the whole story and certain versions are compatible such as 7.1.40.6 of March 30,2010:/t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/How-to-use-Nokia-N8-with-PC-Suite-7-1-30-9-apparently-compatible/m-p...

  • Ovi Suite 3.0.0.284 has stopped working on windows...

    Hello,
Since I bought the Nokia N8 and I'm trying to run the Ovi Suite I always get the message "Nokia Ovi Suite has stopped working"
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".
    Event viewer doesn't help really...
Does anyone knows the cause of this or perhaps even better, has a solution?
    I tried already :
    Un-install Re-install
    Run as administrator
    Run XP SP3 compatible
    Thanks anyway.
    Kind regards,
    Chris

    Thank you for your feedback.
Could you please provide us the log files?
    1. Here are the instructions for attaching log files:
    - Open Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.284
    - Enable log gathering by double-clicking the enable_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Click the button to start enabling the logs when prompted by the dialogue
    - Click the button to confirm the "Logs are enabled" dialogue
    - Exit Nokia Ovi Suite from File - Exit. This is mandatory! Closing NOS to system tray is not enough!
    - Open Nokia Ovi Suite again
    - Try to reproduce the error you are reporting
    - If the error still exists, double click the collect_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Click the button to start collecting the logs when prompted by the dialogue
    - Click the button to confirm the "Logs collect & zip finished" dialogue
    - Attach the NOS2_logs.zip file in C:\Temp\NOS2 folder and screenshots in the error reporting form
    - Go to your %TEMP% folder, which can be found by entering %TEMP% to the Windows Explorer's address bar. Then search debug_log_date.txt in this folder, where date is the current date (or choose the latest one) and attach also this file in the error reporting form. The exact %TEMP% folder paths are:
    In XP: C:\Documents and settings\your_username\LocalSettings\Temp\
In Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Temp\
    - Disable log gathering by double-clicking the disable_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Click the button to start disabling the logs when prompted by the dialogue
    - Click the button to confirm the "Logs are disabled" dialogue
You can send these log files, system information details to [email protected] mailbox

  • Photoshop always hangs....

    Hello,
We have PSCS2 installed on our 17" MBP, 2GB of ram. Whenever I quit PS, the 2nd core starts showing activity and PS hangs- I must Force Quit. Anyone else having this problem?
    Mike

I don't think there is any reason to be skeptical at this point. Most software that runs via Universal Binary runsmoothly and stably on my MBP, albeit my Adobe Suite is always a bit fritzy, but thats under Rosseta.
I need Adobe for school as I'm studying Graphic Design, so I'm basically screwed for one of my 4 years at school because of Adobe, but atleast I'm confident that if it's taking this long, it should be worth the wait.

  • Bring back Acrobat X Suite!

Has anyone else noticed that Adobe has quietly dropped Acrobat X Suite?
This was actually reasonably good value - both Acrobat and Photoshop in one package.
I think this is pretty poor - dropping this less than 18 months after release. The only thing I can find is:
Why did Adobe discontinue Acrobat X Suite?   Adobe continually works to deliver exceptional products that meet market demand. After a detailed analysis of our product offerings and sales, Adobe decided to discontinue Acrobat X Suite as of October 15, 2012. Customers who want functionality similar to that provided in Acrobat X Suite should consider purchasing Adobe eLearning Suite 6.1 software.
That sounds convincing. More like someone realised it was good value. The suggestion too is a bit rich - yep spend $1000 more for a new product.
Now we are forced to pay more than double to upgrade the individual products.
    Not Happy! Very Not Happy!

Acrobat X Suite was always a strange bundle - Photoshop wasn't the natural choice of companion product. The arrival of Creative Cloud also changed things dramatically; customers who previously purchased Acrobat Suite to get hold of things like Media Encoder are far more likely to go with CC as it gives them instant access to Acrobat XI Pro as well as a number of other products (Flash, Bridge, Illustrator, InDesign) which weren't part of Acrobat Suite.
eLearning Suite 6 is a different offering, it's aimed at people whose primary job is the creation of courseware, mainly for deployment on learning management systems (Moodle, Connect Server, etc.). As such it contains two specialist products from outside the CC family, Presenter and Captivate. It's also available as a subscription, though it's separate from CC.

  • PC Suite operates very slow

Phone: N85 with latest firmware (11.047)
System: Vista SP1, ram 2gb, dual core 2.2ghz
    PC Suite: latest version (7.1.18.0)
    Connection: USB Cable
Works fine when connecting via "Mass Storage"
When connecting In 'PC Suite", software always alerts "reinstal PC suite support in mobile", but always answers that it's up to date when trying to do it.
When starting Communication Center, software needs at least 1 minutes to show up SMSs from the phone, don't allow to refresh them or delete them (both buttons are disabled), in most cases it loosing connection in several minutes (shows that there are not any messages).
I'ts nearly impossible to install any app via PC Suite (same here, very long procesing and connection lost at last)
I reinstalled PC Suite several times, I also use PC Suite Cleaner for this, but nothing helped.
In device drivers Vista shows that everything is OK, what's the problem?
My old N70 worked without any kind of problem with the same system and software.

After double clicking the short-cut icon from desktop, it will take at least 5 minutes before anything happens. And yes every program inside the PC Suite are starting really slowly. If I wait that time, they will usually work. My computer is Acer Aspire 1362LC and it got AMD Sempron processor 2800+ and 512MB of memory, if that helps to solve my problem. PC Suite is only program what is acting slowly, all other programs are working normally.
