E51 and Wifi.. no gateway reply

Hello all,
Just recently bought a Nokia E51, really happy with it, but i have one annoying problem. I configured my speedtouch router to Access point, all works fine, but one specified site can't open with default browser and drops the message: "web: no gateway reply" but when i try to open it with mini opera browser it opens okay, but mini opera is **bleep** for me). So any minds ?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm using E61i with the following detail of firmware version.
2.0633.65.01
03-10-07
RM-227
Nokia E61i-1
since i have updated to v2, i have been getting the "Web: No Gateway Reply" whenever i try to connect to my router.
interesting thing is, after i connect to wlan through my notebook, i can get connected to the wlan through my handset. and after that, everything happens smoothly. but it never gets connected for the first time. i have faced this problem with some unsecured public wlan also.
any help will be highly appreciated.
i see that there's a new version (3.0633.69.00) firmware available for my ph. unsure if i should update to that. and if this major problem would go away or not!
thanks!

  • E61i - WIFI 'NO GATEWAY REPLY'

    Hi
I was wondering if anyone has any real 'legal' solutions to the problem of my wifi connection saying 'no gateway reply' when i try to connect to the wireless network at work.
I've tried the following that haven't worked -
    - Turning off Wlan Power saver
    - Re-installing lates firmware availiable (2.0633.65.01)
    - Using wlan wizard to set up and define pre-shared wpa/wpa2 key
    - Resetting the phone back to factory settings
    - Setting my phone to a spare IP adress that no other device is using.
Please help i've got a headache and i would like this problem to end!! Have nokia released any fixes? How come i can't get the firmware update 3.0633.69.00 that has been talked about elsehwere on the web??

  • Public WLAN, No Gateway Reply

    hi,
as many others i have this problem
but, i am sure that wlans i try connect to are free public, with no passwords.
wifi is working well, at home i use my router which is password protected and i have no problem
the problem comes when i try to connect to public networks
i connect, the icon shows, but all i get when trying to browse web is ''no gateway reply'' and it is very annoying (cus wifi was the main reason why i bought my phone (nokia e51))
i read many discussions on this topic but the reason i started this topic is that networks i try to connect are public (in other discussions problem was with their protection...)
    any help please
ps:my phone is 2 weeks old, orange branded, i hope its not the problem.
if possible dont answer like ''reinstal FW'' cus it took me a couple of days to set my phone up.
    thanks

  • PLEASE HELP!!!! N96 "no gateway reply" PROBLEM

    Hi
    I have a N96 v12.
When i try to connect to internet with Wifi i cant browsing and system said that "no gateway reply".
i tried to connect to this connection with N82 and its work well.
    Where is the problem from?

I´ve searched other threads on this board and it seems like, you´re not the only one experiencing problems with the N96 and WiFi.
It seems like there is no proper solution for your problem...
Some users have reported that they´ve managed to connect after updating the phone´s firmware!
You can update your phone using the NSU:
    Nokia Software Updater
All you need for this is a internet connection and a data cable for your phone!
Is your phone´s firmware up to date?

  • Nokia 5800 Wi-fi connectivity - No Gateway reply P...

Me & my friend bought 5800. While connecting WIFI i am receiving No Gateway repy where as my friend able to connect. I had checked all possible options with my friends mobile. Kindly help regarding Wifi as what i am doing wrong.

No Gateway Reply for the 5800.
After spending days trying to sort this problem i think I have cracked it. 1. follow the instructions someone posted to enter the phone ip address, should be different to computers ip. then enter subnet same as pc then the gateway ip same as pc. the only real difference with my solution is that you have to enter the dns addresses as well, same as pc .
I am using XP open network connection, select the wireless network, on the left select view statusof this connection, tab will open, select support , then click details and youdns server numbers are displayed.  Enter these in phone setting in.
I am using linksys WRT54GS, I dont have this problem with a netgear router at my friends, that connects streight away, without internal config of phone.
    Hope it helps
was on phone to nokia for 2 hours being passed from one depart. to another. didnt get anywhere.
Below is  the post origionaly posted by dodgydave123
    Hello Guys!
After browsing the net for some time Ive found a fix for the "No Gateway reply" message when trying to access the internet!
Its also fix's the BBC iPlayer! (Atleast it did on my phone!)
I dont know if its already been posted?
    Ok so here goes!
ENSURE YOUR WIRELESS CONNECTION IS SET TO PRIORITY:1 on your n96
1st) On your phone go to..
menu tools settings connection Wireless Lan Options Advanced Settings
    Disable "Automatic Configuration"
    & Disable "Power Saving"
2nd) On your phone go to..
menu tools settings connection destinations Internet
On your wireless network Name (PRIORITY:1 obviously i dont know what that may be)
options edit advanced settings IPv4 settings options Change
all the detais can be copied from your computer. To find them on your computer go to Start Run
Type "cmd" in the run box
when you get the command screen type "ipconfig/all" here you will get all the settings.
The settings the phone needs is
1.Phone IP Address (enter your computer IP address, changing the last two digits to a number about five or six higher than than the original IP, for eg if my IP was 123.654.768.34 id put the ip in my phone as 123.654.768.39 to stop IP conflict)
2.Subnet Mask (copy the same code from the computer to your phone, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING)
    3. Default Gateway (copy the same code from the computer to your phone, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING)
    4. DNS Address (Usually called "DNS Servers" on your computer! copy the same code from the computer to your phone, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING)
ENSURE ALL NUMBERS ARE IN THE CORRECT PLACES BEFORE AND AFTER THE "."
Then exit all, Turn off your phone and turn it back on again! And all should be up and running!!
Hope this helps! I know how much time i spent looking for the fix!

  • E71 - no gateway reply!

    Hello,
I have a problem in connecting my E71 to the wifi router I use at home. The router I use is a Linksys WAG200G.
When I connect to the network using my phone it gives me an error "web: no gateway reply".
I would really appreciate if someone could please help me resolve this problem.
    Thanks!
    Dane

hi, I too have this problem... but, i think there may be a problem with the e71 using/accessing a router using WEP... I haven't tried WPA... but the thing is, if I configure my wireless router without security, e71 can access the internet... try it.. set your router not to be secured, then on your e71, delete any existing wifi access point (exclude your carrier's Media net or whatever), then go to wlan wizard... your e71 will scan and find your unsecured router, then click on start browsing.. you will be able to access the internet...
The downside, your router is unsecured, thus anyone can just scan and use your wifi... =(
So, can anyone try to fix the WEP problem for e71? or anyone has tried successfully using WPA???
    -> 3210 -> 8210 -> 8350 -> 6600 -> n80ie -> e71

  • NO GATEWAY REPLY??????????whats that??

while tryin to connect thru wifi the message shows-no gateway reply found!!!what does that mean
    thanks

    Good Afternoon
    I recently purchased a nokia 95 8gb(with latest
software update), and spent a day troubleshooting the
wifi network connection. After “googling” I noticed
many other people are experiencing the “no gateway
reply” error. I am a network professional and have
“dabbled” with every setting known to man with no
results. However in the end I fixed the problem by
downloading the opera browser and I couldn’t believe
my eyes when it worked first time and connected to my
wireless network. I personally believe there may be a
problem with the standard nokia web browser pre-
installed on the phone. I had suspected this after
continuously changing my wireless routers settings
    from no encryption to wpa,wep etc(+altering ip/dns
from dhcp to static ) and applying to phone also.,
then trying to connect again with browser. The phone
did connect to the network but received a no gateway
reply error when trying to browse the internet. Also
on some settings I received a “system error” .
This fault has proved very frustrating considering the
cost of these handsets and the fact iv owned it for
one day, hopefully nokia will resolve the issue with
another firmware update, but in the mean time this will
act as a simple work around.
I hope this information will prove useful to your
members and readers, and if you require any further
    detail,dont hesitate to ask.
    Regards
    Richard

  • No gateway reply error

I am getting no gateway reply error on my nokia2700c while opening Home page and downloading software

Which default configuration do you see? I think it is one with an enabled proxy setting. Something which is not required anymore. Perhaps you operator even disabled its proxy.
Please, add a web and APN account to your personal configuration:
Menu » Settings » Configuration » Personal » Add » Access Point » Settings » Bearer settings » Packet data access point (APN) » smartnet
    red key
    Menu » Settings » Configuration » Personal » Options » Add new » Web
    red key
    Menu » Settings » Configuration » Default » Personal » Options » Activate
    Did that help?

    Hi cybercreep,
I have an E61, but I have the same problem - not always, only at times. I think if you are sure the WLAN you are trying to connect to is free and has no MAC authentification or sth., then it´s maybe out of range?

  • E 63 WLAN - No gateway reply

    Hello All
I bought Nokia E63 recently.  I bought it in India.  In India i was able to use the WLAN (Open network) in my house.  After a month i moved to Amsterdam.  In the house we have THOMSON SpeedTouch 780. Wireless router provided by KPN.  This has the WPA authentication.  I am able to connect my laptops to Internet through my WLAN from KPN.  Now when ever i tried connecting throuh Nokia E63, i am getting No Gateway reply.  I tried all couple of options suggested in this forum to set the ipv4 settings and DNS settings in the phone, but still i am not able to browse throught E63.  Can some one assist me to rectify this error in my nokia E63.
    Thanks and Regards
    Nageswaran

No gateway doesn't mean you're not connected. Turn off the Powersaving in the advanced settings of WLAN in the E63. Leave IPv4 settings alone. Make sure the routersettings match the phone. Dont use all wireless devices at once.

  • E90 / E51 (and other?) --Access point groups-- ar...

    Hi All
I‘ve seen that in the new E51 the Access point groups are gone.
In my (older) E70 the Access point groups are installed and they are GREAT.
It’s a pity, that they are gone, because you waste much money to your provider, and you lose connection-performance.
Now in the E90 and E51 (AND PERHAPS IN THE UPCOMING PHONES) the possibility of building groups is not available.
    It’s a shame for a business Phone.
You don’t know, what “Access point groups” are?
Here the explanation of the E70’s manual:
    Email data roaming
    Access point groups.
Your device allows roaming between wireless access technologies, such as WLAN and GPRS, for e-mail. For example, you can
start an e-mail session at home and continue the session on your way to work. While your session continues uninterrupted,
your handheld device switches from WLAN to GPRS and back to WLAN when you arrive at your workplace.
In result: You have a quick and free connection at home (Wifi), you go outside, the phone switches automatically to e.g GPRS, you come in the office, the phone switches automatically to your company’s WIFI.. etc.
You pay only the short time outside, and you don’t have to worry about changing connections.
Let us motivate NOKIA to reintegrate this feature, so they become more professional and businesslike
    Thanks mayba

    Bring IT back !!!

  • Uc500 and cyberdata paging gateway

I am setting up a Cyberdata sip endpoint for paging. I have successfully installed the cyberdata sip intercom on other systems (uc540) and they work well. I am not having much success with the amp. I have tried many configurations in both the uc540 cli and the cyberdata sip paging gateway.. I am including the latest config and the latest debugs.
Cyberdata was a help in the beginning but they are lost as well. When I dial the extension I get a fast busy. No matter how I configure it I get a fast busy when I dial the extension. The unit does show that it is registered with the sip server. It could be an acl issue, but I don’t want to change the acl’s until I know for sure.

this is a paging gateway for loudspeakers. The intercoms that I have configured are working fine. if you like to see the settings I used let me know. When someone presses the call button I have it ringing to a call blast group, when they answer they get a two way conversation and the when they press a button (5) the door opens. I used a vlan1 address on the intercom, but in the settings I used in cli I used the vlan100 address of the sip server. It does show "registered with sip server" thanks

The calls to the cyberdata amp are trying to go out to our sip provider, and of course the call fails with a fast busy. how do I keep the call inside and get it to the amp.Is it a dial peer issue ?
