E51 Bug [low] - No vibra on incoming SMS or email

Severity: low
Software: 200.34.36 / 24-04-2008 / RM-244
After some time of operation, the vibra does not go on incoming SMS and emails any more. Power cycling the phone solves the problem.

Possible suggestion would be it may be the battery rather than the phone. Bought a spare Nokia battery at the same time as my phone, one vibrates the other doesn't. Then again, they're made in China where quality doesn't count. If I ever buy a Nokia with made in China on the box is the day it goes back.

  • E51 Bug [low] - *#0000# and *#06# don't work

    Severity: low
    Software: 200.34.36 / 24-04-2008 / RM-244
After I noticed that the vibra didn't go on incoming SMS and emails, I power cycled my E51. After that I wanted to write a bug report and noticed that neither *#0000# nor *#06# worked. Both just created a beep but nothing was displayed.
Switching the phone off, taking the battery out for 30secs. and switching it on again, solved the problem.

  • IPhone 5 outgoing and incoming SMS works but incoming calls do not work. The dialler gets message this number is not in available in network.

New I phone outgoing calls as well incoming SMS works but can not receive incoming calls. Caller gets the number does not exist in network.

Like Superman, here I am to save the day! I can help you with your service in your home area dizzymslizzie. Let's start with what zip code are you in? Can I assume that there isn't any physical or liquid damage on the iPhone 5? Recently, there has been an update to the iPhone to iOS 7. If you have done this update then please provide the exact carrier version that's installed. Keep in mind that there is a difference in device performance between iOS 7 and the iOS 7 beta version. As you share this info, I will check the area to re-affirm that the issue is or is not network related.
    Thank you...

  • Access to incoming sms (non-port) and phone functionality

I've been reading a lot about the inability for J2ME apps to access incoming SMS (if they aren't directed to a specific port #) and other phone functionality (like contacts data database, call status, etc.).
Has that changed at all or is that still an issue with J2ME?
    Thanks.

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as you think.  When caller-ID was developed, the Bell System was one big happy system. The telephone switches were all under the control of responsible companies.  The caller-ID protocol and system was setup assuming trusted entities through the link.
Since then, the telephone system has greatly diversified and merged with data communications.  Now, we have VoIP services that interconnect with telephone services.  There is no provision in the caller-ID system to verify the source of the data.  It is trivial for someone to use VoIP to feed bogus caller-ID data into the existing system.
This can be fixed with regulation by the FCC and money spent by the telephone companies, however in this economic and political climate it is unlikely.
Annoying realities of life in the modern era.

  • My Nokia is unable to display incoming sms if I sw...

    Hi,
I am having a messaging problem with my Nokia N82.
I normally use micro SD-card to store my messages, sometime I have it removed from my phone and inserted to PC to copy media. Anyway, during these moments, if I receive any sms, I suppose it will be stored into 'phone memory', which is not a problem.
Recently, I created and sent sms to my friends and got them replied. However, those incoming sms would never show up if I did not switch the ‘memory in use’ back to ‘phone memory’ even when the microSD is installed and in use.
So now, anytime incoming sms arrive and I want them to show up, I have to switch the ‘memory in use’ to ‘phone memory’ again to see. This is so disturbing, especially after switching back to phone memory, 4-5 incoming sms show up when they supposed to show up right the moment they arrived no matter which memory I use.
    What am I missing?

You should be fine for over 5 years. Im running Mavericks on a mid 2009 macbook pro

How I can lock  undesired incoming SMS on iPhone 5?

Unfortunately, they're evading their responsibility and blowing smoke. No iPhone (and darn few phones per se) has ever offered and supported call blocking. That is inevitably the domain of who's forwarding the call: the carrier. The near-monopoly status that some have in some places does NOT help in prodding them to fulfull their duties.
So, in summary, it would appear you are

  • Cannot send an sms but recieves incoming sms

how can i send an sms but when i send it goes to the outbox and says resend but i still have load.. but i can recieve incoming sms.. i can call, send an mms and browse gprs.. how's that?

Following up on what cjlim mentioned, it does sound like your message centre number is incorrectly set up. Contact your network provider to find out what the correct number should be.
Depending on your phone model, you can check the number under your Message Settings in Messaging.
    Possible steps are:
    1. Messaging > Options > Message Settings > Text Message > (see what's the name under "Message centre in use" but don't select) > Message centres > locate the message centre in use > check the number.
    or
    2. Messages > Message Settings > Sending profile > Select the first one that's highlighted (usually it's the default) > Message centre number: check it.
Let us know if it works.

  • MBW-150 - enlarging display of incoming SMS wording

I've recently purchased an MBW-150 watch, which I'm running with my Galaxy S phone via the OpenWatch app.  There are settings to change the way in which status-info is displayed (i.e. as just 1 line or on 2 lines), but I can't see a similar setting with which to change how incoming SMS texts are displayed.  They always display on 2 lines at a time, but I'd like to be able to change it to just 1 line (i.e. thus doubling the font size), in order to make it easier to read. Anyone know how?  Thanks.

Unfortunately by default there is no way to change this setting on the watch.

  • Change SMS or Email sound/Alarm

I just got my IPHONE 2 days ago and I haven't figure it out how to change SMS or EMAIL sound/alarm...HELP

    CEWEI,
If you have iPhone update 1.1.1 installed you can go to Settings -> Sounds and change the sound for incoming text messages.
There isn't a way to change it for incoming email. You may want to suggest that by going to:

  • Sms-to-email problem with plugin

    Hi!
    2004Q2
We have configured email-to-sms and it works good, but sms-to-email is giving us headache. This is the plugin error that we get:
plugin_thread(1644): Returned from plugin; plugin returned 69 (SUBMIT_SM or SUBMIT_MULTI command failed (ESME_RSUBMITFAIL)); errmsg="Zero length SMS message; cannot extract addressing information"
    I would appreciate any help.
    Cheers,
    Adnan

Can you point to the part of the doc where it says that?
If we send a SMS in wrong format like:
    "Hello World!"
    we get plugin error:
"Zero length SMS message; cannot extract addressing information"
but as soon as we send it in right format:
    "local-part@domain (subject) body text"
smpp_gateway_server process crashes without any error repoort. We tried sending SMS in us-ascii and utf-8 but the results are the same.
    Cheers

  • Best app for send sms via email?

Anyone got any idea what the best app is to download to send sms via email?
I downloaded text-free yesterday, but doesnt work and the message keeps bouncing back to my email in box as a failed mail delivery!!
I am in the UK in case that makes a difference!!

If you want to text people for free, i highly recommened AIM application. Its an IM app built in with an feature that allows you to text anyone on your contacts for free. Just let them know that its you texting them the first time.
