Click on it, then select 'Turn WLAN scan off'.
Then to be sure, also go to the Tools menu -> Settings -> Connection -> Wireless LAN and set 'Show WLAN Availability' to 'Never'.
Anyway, just as my gift to the world I yesterday started a personal trial of cellular abstinence by not using any energy hungry functions, then see how long the battery lasts. I'm now on day two and the battery still shows full.
So that's actual light use, a couple of calls, some use of the calendar and to-do list, I updated the BBC World app through WLAN yesterday which is just a minute or so of WLAN use which I then turned off, etc.
So just regular 'phone' use but without major WLAN downloading, video watching, mp3 listening, gaming, etc.
We'll see. I'm already showing some withdrawal symptoms from not riding that phone to within an inch of its life all day.
I can only hope it's appreciated, it involved having to witness the sad disappointed face of my 2 year old daughter telling her "no" she can't watch her favorite vid about horses ( http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nVWYMl2yg1E ) or any 'MouseCat' (Tom & Jerry) cartoons on my phone. "Daddy is testing battery life"

Critical problem with new io

i m working on a simple implementation of message passing interface (mpi). there are multiple machines and all the machines are connected to each other. i have used java sockets. i have used selector both in client machines and server machines (client refers that some machines connect to some other machines and once all the machines are connected they can pass messages to each other). but i find in client machines selectors get message only the first time. later they dont get any further message though several messages are sent to them from server machines. i dont find any other problem anywhere. program runs properly but only in this case i get such critical problem. i cant provide the code. but i hope my intelligent and skilled helpers can understand.

Critical problem after update OS X Server 3.0,anyone can help me?

first of all,forgive me using the "critical problem".... corz I am totally crazy now...Before I update,OS X server 2.2 working on OS X 10.8,and everything works fine.
After I upgrade to OS X 10.9 Mavericks, the old server app shows "can not work". Ok.... I download the OS X Server 3.0 and upgrade with it.

     Toggle as on in server app,but seems my local network account was crash.
     any existing user login to server,the server ask them to change password,but the chage not worked. It was stuck on the "change password".When I directly changing the password in server app, its also no response.
     If I create a new accout,the mail adrees will not be auto fill,and when I click "Create", a error windows showed "existing connection is not authenticated: password change denied", and the server app go crash. Re open it , new account shows "not allowed" in the list.

Here's what I discovered just a few hours ago.
I had created a new Mavericks Server install, done the migration wizard from 10.6.8 and got the same errors. "Existing connection is not authenticated. Password chage denied". Performed sudo touch /var/db/openldap/migration/.rekerberize, yada yada. Then I ran through the whole gamut of trouble shooting and norrowed it down to this:
Before starting, make an archive of your previous OD (SL or Lion). After doing the migration your users may not be there and you have to reimport the LDAP again, sometimes after step 2 below.
1. Double check your DNS service on the server you're building. Make sure any test DNS names and real DNS names have correct corresponding IP addresses. I used two so I could switch back and forth from names and IPs. Set your local DNS in the network control panel to 127.0.0.1 so its referrencing itself while you build.
2. Double check your host name under 'fileserver' and correct any errors. The local and domain have to match. example: fileserver.local, fileserver.my.domain.com. Verify all hostnames and IP address and make sure they match in DNS service. Use changeip command in terminal if you wish, but under 'Fileserver' in the 'Server.app' menu it works fine. After this you may need to re-import from your original server's LDAP archive.
3. Run the "touch" commands listed above.
4. Reboot.
5. Archive your directory again and name it for referrence. Save it to a flash drive so you can use it again if you need to rebuild later (you probably won't)
5. (here's the kicker) Turn off OD and look at your certificates in Server.app. Generate a new self-signed certificate and assign everything to that. You might need to stop OD to change its cert. Delete any expired or unused certificates. Rerun the touch commands and reboot (to be sure).
6. reimport from the LDAP archive you just saved.
6. Go through your users and edit server access. (trick, hold down the option key to turn them all on per user with a single click.s I was able to add users, edit users and connect on AFP and SMB.
After I did this it all worked, even adding users. I even did a fresh build of Mavericks server and was able to just import from the new LDAP archive with no issues.

my app is in the Windows Store 2 years and all 2 years I am getting reviews with 1 stars with complaining about cache size, which can be 10-30Gb... I have reported about this problem to Microsoft Support at October 2013, but problem is not solved in Windows

Big files with size more than 5Mb are stored and are not deleted, so information in last message is not right.
Is it so difficult problem to resolve? Please enable option for Windows store apps co they can delete their cache manually. If problem is not resolved in Windows 10 final release, I will write about it to all major IT magazines, because problem is very critical
and AFFECT ALL APPS from Windows Store.

Keep in mind that the current cache size limit (W8.1) is 95% of free space or 4 GB whatever is smaller. 200 MB is not very large. Do you see the cache reach a size of greater than 4 GB?

yes, my users report about 10-30Gb size, also for my radio app I do not see any reasons to store radio stream cache even 100Mb, because it is absolutely unnecessary. I think 4 Gb for cache on Windows tablets with 32 Gb SSD is too big. Also users think

The Critical Problems for Creating Standby Database:(I want to create a physical standby database on the same system of the primary database)
1. Should I copy all the backup datafiles, standby controlfile and password file to a same directory before the first time to mount the standby database?
2. Before mounting the standby database, Should I change the datafile's name to a new one in the standby controlfile? How to change them?
3. When issuing the command to mount the standby database, should I specify the controlfile's name.(using which controlfile to mount)
These problems are not clearly secified in Oracle documentations.

Can you point us to the Windows specific documentation you refer to?
The parameter DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT should take care of the new mapping for your datafiles (and LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT for logs), so you should be able to put them where you want and use the parameter to point Oracle to the correct location. You should not need to change the name in the controlfile.
Place your standby controlfiles where you have the control files defined in your parameter file and Oracle should recofgnise that it is a standby db. You should not need to specify which controlfiles to use (if this is even possible), your CONTROL_FILES init parameter points to them.
Not sure about the password file....my instances are on separate boxes and the password file has the same name on both primary and standby.

Restarting after update - Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart in one minute?

This is a worrying one - I updated Reader today and restarted after it promted me. Soon after the pc rebooted I got an error message that said "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart in one minute". After it restarted, I checked the event logs and came up with this error: "A critical system process, C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status code 1. The machine must now be restarted.". This has never happened before and I want to know if the Reader update did anything bad. I restarted several times afterwards and it didn't happen again, but still.. it's worrying me. Is this a common error after the update or am I missing something? Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I understand that you are worried.
I have a very similar setup as yours, and nothing happened after the Reader 10.1.3 update. The one difference is that the update did not prompt me to restart Windows. (It did prompt me on several other [XP] systems.)
Let's wait and see if anyone else encountered a similar problem.

Critical problem with locking

I have a critical problem with locking
My session 1 does a select for update in a query which has aggregate function. and updates a row.
2 nd session waits till the first session has updated.
But while selecting the data is selects the old data and not the one which Session1 has updated.
Please let me know How do I overcome this .

I'll give the explanation a shot but I can't find anything explict in the documentation along these lines. By default, the 'FOR UPDATE' clause says lock all these rows AND wait for anybody who might already have them locked to release the lock. However, if the other session changed the data we can't just lock the old version of the row, we have to get the data from the new version of the row. The catch is that we must guarantee statement level read consistency as well. Namely, all the data used by the statement must appear correct from a single point in time. If we waited for the other transaction and it commited, we must move that point up to be read consistent. That means reexecuting any subqueries as of the new consistency point. To summarize, the following happens ...
1. subquery gives num = 1
2. main query want to lock that row but can't so it waits
3. other session commits
4. main query notices the data it wants to lock has changed so it moves up consistency point
5. subquery is rerun for the new consistency point
6. subquery now gives num = 2
7. main query locks row

E6 new Firmware critical problem

Hi,
After 3-4 days of upgrading to latest firmware(for E6)..the screen goes blank/locked while dialling or attending calls, even during the alarm too, screen goes dead.
honestly, i sensed the problem while switching off my alarm but touch-screen didn't respond well & later experienced the screen went blank/locked/unresponsive(till u cancel/end ur call) for dialling & attending calls too.
my phone is @ Nokia care since monday, they promised me to return in 1 hour & now its more than 4days, & now they escalated the issue to L3 support vch may take another 10days.
Anybody having idea. I request NOKIA moderator to plz look into d issue@ d earliest.

P.S. There are some more ppl who hv experienced d same prblm & they are ended up everytime by replacment with new phone, coz they again did the upgrade on new phone & same problem started after 5-6days. Its a critical problem. smbdy help!

I too was confronted with this problem on my E6. I upgraded to Belle refresh and from that moment, whenever I receive a call, make a call, or when the alarm(clock) signals, the display goes black
When receiving a call, Very, very briefly (maybe as short as two-tenth of a second) I see the caller info in a flash before the screen goes to black (so I can not really read it)
After the call (or - in case of an alarm sounding - after stopping the alarm, the display is illuminated again
Also, in my situation, no protective foil is covering the proximity sensor nor something else is obstructing it
It happened directly after the update, before it everything was fine which makes me convinced that it can not be a hardware failure
This assumption is backup up by what I have read on the web:
the module in the E6 that is detecting the proximity (as well as performing the ambient light detection) is called "DiPro" and uses an external Infrared-LED. The current flowing through this LED (which off course determines the amount of IR-light and therefore the sensitivity of the proximity measurement as a whole) is software controlled
This (to me) is a very plausible explanation that there is something wrong with the software indeed
Why this fault does not appear on all E6-phones I don't know, but I assume that the combination of the Belle[refresh] software (incorporating the assumable altered steering of the DiPro-module) in combination with certain hardware versions of the E6 is a conflictuous one
It's pretty bizar that Nokia has not supported up til now although a software update is clearly the basis of the problems

785GM-E51 BIOS problem after upgrading to Windows 8

Randomly (it seems) I can't enter my BIOS or use the F11 key to choose the boot device when starting or restarting my 785GM-E51 based system - but only running Windows 8 or 8.1.
Whenever I wipe Windows 8 off the drive and reinstall Windows 7 I have no problem ever, same when I used XP. But When I upgrade to Windows 8 or 8.1, much of the time (but not always) I can't enter the BIOS, nor is there that message at the bottom of the screen when booting up that says to press esc to enter the BIOS or F11 to select the boot device. This happens whenever I use Windows 8 or 8.1 as the operating system.
I am currently running the latest BIOS, but this has happened with the 2 previous BIOS versions I reflashed as well. Currently, the only way I can enter the BIOS is to reboot sometimes up to 10 times before I finally see that message at the bottom and then I can enter the BIOS, etc.
How could the operating system have this effect on the BIOS?
(Currently I have flashing disabled and also I password protect the whole system with a BIOS password.)
Any help appreciated.

If that 'Del or F11" message doesn't show up on the bottom line of the screen when restarting before the BIOS prompts me for my system password, you can't enter the BIOS at all, ever. The MSI logo is disabled, but changing that doesn't do anything different either. No matter how many times you press the Del key the BIOS often won't recognize it when the boot drive is Windows 8 or 8.1. You have to reboot over and over (sometimes 10 or more times) until you see that message, then you know the BIOS will recognize the 'Del' key and you can go into the BIOS. Interestingly, what sometimes works when this is happening, is to go into a Windows account, then restart or shutdown. The next time you can usually (but not always) see that message and know you'll be able to enter the BIOS.
I've taken out the memory for another issue, but that didn't change anything. I've tried changing from my DVI monitor cable to VGA (also for something unrelated) and that didn't do anything either. I installed a new graphics card, instead of using the AMD onboard graphics, and that didn't change anything either.
And to be clear, this only happens with Windows 8 or 8.1, not Window 7, XP, linux, etc.
What I do now is I have 2 SSDs, one with Windows 7, the other with Windows 8.1. You can always press 'Del' or 'F11' before the BIOS password prompt appears when the Windows 7 SSD is the boot drive (the only drive). But when you use the Windows 8.1 drive to startup (again the only drive), you have this problem much of the time. And this has been happening since I upgraded to Windows 8 when it was released 2 years ago (8/2012), even trying different revisions of the BIOS firmware (last update 2/2011).

Nokia E51 firmware problem.

Hello. I have a problem with my E51. I`v used the Nokia Software Updater and update the firmware to 400.34.011. And now the problems: when i type the code *#0000# that little window doesn`t appear or when i type *#90720623# to see the life timer, again, that lil` window doesn`t appear. I have problems when i call, the phone loses signal...it`s working harder...etc. What can i do ?

Dont worry about it.There are 2 ways to solve your problem:
1. *#7370# - Reformat your phone. (Try it and check whether it can work. If the first method can not work, try the second one)
2. Just use Nokia Software Update to reinstall the fireware.

Hi there All..
I'm as many the proud and happy owner of a Nokia E51.
At first i found the software very responsive, quick and an great deal faster than my previous owned N95.
after a short while the following start to occur:
When i go form "desktop", active stadby i mean directly to "create message", or to messages through the fastkey it takes at least 20 seconds before i get where i want to be.
Same goes for contacts.
I tried the following:
-Hard Reset: *#7???# (dont remeber the code..)
this worked for a day...
-removed my gmail IMAP cheking account from mailboxes.
no improvement.
-tried to update the phone to new firmware 200.xxx.xx with Nokia Software Updater. Did not complete! It hung at the last 5 minutes and then told me the connection was broken and i should take out battery, replce and reconnect. and then press "again".
Did not work. So i just rebooted the phone and it seemed all normal, and the new firmware seems to be installed. But after a few days de phone became slower again as i described above. So i wanted to try the frimware installation again.
I thought maybe my windows installation is buggy, so i made a clean install on my personal computer (E8200, 4GB, Vistax64/WinXP32bit dual boot). And i tried again. Same error at the last 5 minutes remaining....
My questions are these:
- Slow messages / contacts - ||Is this normal? or else a know problem with a known solution? Does annyone have this experience also?
- Freaky Firmware update - || Is this normal? or else a know problem with a known solution? Does annyone have this experience also?

we have one field say VOtype which holds numeric values..
and another column parameter whihc holds whihc type & corresponding values..

U have to create a customer exit variable for the value type by assigning the value of each document type = required count

Our interpretation is that the Oracle XML Parser embedded in OC4J does not know the XML Digital Signature Schema Definition. We can't modify the COTS product to circumvent the problem, so we have to find another solution, e.g.
a) extend the Oracle XML parser so that it is able to validate xdsig, xmlenc schema definitions
b) use another XML parser instead of Oracle (which is, as far as we know, possible but currently not supported).
For our project, the COTS product we try to deploy contains critical functionality. We have to find a solution, since the only fallback would be to use another servlet engine (e.g. Tomcat) or J2EE product!
Can anyone help?

Good news: the problem was solved by the third party product provider. Obviously the Oracle XML Parser is more restrictive regarding namespace registration than Xerces. The now implemented fix runs with both Xerces and Oracle.
