E51 default connections access with WLAN - how ?

Hi.
I just bought a lovely e51, and I love it, but after playing with it for 2 days, I cant seem to set the default connections to WLAN.
For instance, when I click on the WLAN from the front menu, it offers to browse using wifi, thats great.
But if I click on the Web icon, or the Nokia maps, or the Download stuff, it takes me to "Data Package" which I dont want to use, when I have a WLAN at home.
I understand that the WLAN wont be able to "download" every type of contents (like the Radio?) but surely it should work with the Web & Downloads?
Any hint most welcome.

Hi,
Open browser, click on left soft button, options, scroll to settings,general,access point and set to always ask.
This way you can select each time you log on to browser.
Or tools, settings, connection, packet data, access point and fil in you settings.
Better to have choice at start up that way if you are not in wi fi area you can just select high speed data.

I would like to ask for help and suggestion. I just bought E65 and tried to conenct it to my Netgear at home. I first try with an encrption - it doesn't work... so I reset my netgear to no security at all... and it still doesn't work.

I'm trying to get WLAN to work on my brand new (3 network) Nokia E65, too.
Here's what I've found out so far.
Useful menu locations are:
Menu>>Connect.>>WLAN wiz. : the WLAN wizard (E65 comes with the WLAN Wizard pre-installed)
Menu>>Settings>>Connection>>Access points : this controls detailed settings for an access point (you can only change these settings if the network is disconnected; NB, there are some extra settings (DNS, IP and Proxy) under Options>>Advanced settings)
Menu>>Connect.>>Conn. mgr. : use this to see whether the network is connected or not (if it is, you can disconnect it here)
I cannot find a way to start the network connection, except by going in to the browser to try to use it, Menu>>Connect.>>Web. Is there any other way?
Lots of people on other forums have pointed out that you need to set 'Options>>Access point' to 'Always ask' within the browser application (so you can switch between using WLAN and phone network for web browsing).
When I try to connect using the browser, I always get "Web: No gateway reply". This seems to be the only possible error message, whatever the problem is! If I mess up the WEP key, or other settings, on purpose, I still get the same message. But I know when I have got the settings pretty much right, because...
If I've set the network up right then, after the failed browser connection, using Conn. mgr., I can see that the WLAN IS connected, and that data is being sent and received (this only happens if the settings are mostly right, e.g. correct WEP key, etc.).
On a PC, at this point, I'd be wanting to check whether IP and DNS addresses have been properly assigned. Does anyone know how I can check this on the E65? (I found IpView.sis - but it seems to be for the wrong type of phones, it won't install.)

Connection problem with wlan router wrk54g

Hi there,
i have tow lenovo notebooks with similar equal systems and vista and same network adapter,
now the problem:
i set up the exact same wlan connetction with the right wep passcode but one notebook got the connection the other not.
the notebook with no connection has only "limited connectivity" and the dhcp seems not to work for this notebook.
i also retried a lot of times to reenter the 64bit 10 hex digits but not successfull.
the firewall settings are ok.
could anybody help?

I've had the same problem, done any troubleshooting suggested, and nothing has been fixed. My camera worked fine until I installed Mavericks. I think it is an OS issue. Troubleshooting iSight will most likely not fix the problem.

How do you use Default Resource Access Information?

I have some 10g Forms & Reports that I want to use with SSO and they will all be connecting to the database with the same connection info. I know how to configure a Default Resource Access Information, but how do you use this with Forms & Reports?

the default Resource Access Infomation should be the connection information right? This is used in conjunction with SSO. You need to configure your F&R applications to delegate authentication to SSO by placing ssoMode=true in the config section of formsweb.cfg.
The Forms Servlet will connect to OID retrieve the Resource Access Information (descriptor) for a given user and automatically log them into the application.
Users will need a global identity in OID and SSO must be enabled to use resource access info with F&R

It depends on which password you are referring to, but generally speaking you can always restore the Apple TV.

A problem with WLan Connection in E65

Hi there,
I just got my E65 .. When I tried to connect to the internet through the WLAN it gives me an error which says:
Unable to connect:Internal WLAN error ..
How can I solv this problem .. I tried to update my phone but no updates were availabe to do so ..
Please help me coz I need to use the net on my phone ..

Goto access points via the tools/settings/connection. Here are al the possible visual lists your e65 wlan sees. Cancel any that you've recognised(ie the one in your household).
Make sure you have all the correct access security digits in order on router or any from computer providing this information. You may have admin utility program that provides this info.
Go back to phone and goto Wlan wiz. Go though prompts until serach is complete as it should see any connection in the airwaves.
Note. each time you make an entry with the current security code and it manages not to connect (the code is wrong), then go back to the access points as mentioned above and delete that new connected access point that the wlan found so you can replace it with another.
There shouldn't be any problems there. I managed to access everything from friends and local wi-fi hot spots.

Wlan connectivity issue with E71

Hi,
I am trying to connect my E71 to my NETGEAR wireless DG834GT router and there is this consistent problem of E71 successfully loading the first page but hang on the subsequent clicks. I tried to disable the security setting on my router and it works perfectly.
However when i try to enable back my security with WPA-PSK preshared key, the problem arises. I notice that during creation of access point in E71, when i enter my password for the preshared key, the display always show 4 asterisks despite the fact that i have a 9 character password. Is this a bug with nokia e71 ? How am i going to resolve this ? Any help is deeply appreciated as my main reason for getting a E71 is to surf in wlan with security enabled.

It was basically this:
"In response to your email, I would suggest trying the following steps to connect to WLAN:
1. Menu > Web > Options > Settings > General > Access Point > Always Ask
2. Select one of the available Bookmarks or open a web page of your choice
3. When the phone prompts you to connect to a server, select "Yes"
4. The phone will populate a list of Available Access Points
5. Scroll and look for Search for WLAN
6. Select your WLAN provider
6. Key in any passwords or pass-keys required to authorize you to access the WLAN network
In the event the above-mentioned steps do not resolve the issue, I would suggest switching off any security features of your WLAN router and testing your phone once again or you may also test your phone with a free WLAN network service which is usually available at cafes.
Please take note that you would be required to contact your Internet Service Provider on the details which needs to be keyed in while creating the WLAN access point.
However, in the event that your phone does not work with a free WLAN service or after you disable the security features of your WLAN router, please take the phone to your nearest Nokia Care Point. They will assess if a repair is required and advise if this may be covered under the warranty."
I had already explained to them that all works ok without any security. With network security, no go.
I politely sent this back and have asked them (again.....) to escalate, which they have said they will now do. Please contact Nokia Care with the same issue as the more people that tell them, the more they will take it seriously, hopefully.
They will need your IMEI, software version (type *#0000# from home screen), product code (beneath battery) and details of your router.

I have a SharePoint 2013 environment with 1 AD Server, 1 DB Server and 1 APP Server, with 13 Web Applications running under the SharePoint.
Recently I rebuilted the application because of some infrasctrucutre problems, and I was able to solve all of them, except one. I can't connect to any of those 13 Web Apps with SharePoint Designer. When I try to connect, it always ask credentials, then it
seems like loading the site, then the error appears:
"An error occurred accessing your Microsoft SharePoint Foundation site files. Authors - if you are authoring against
a Web server, please contact the Webmaster for this server's Web site. WebMasters - please see the server's application event log for more details."
I've spent hours troubleshooting it, but none of the information I found was valid. I've already tried to clean the cache, but didn't work. I found plenty of related data of this
error with FrontPage and old versions of SharePoint, but nothing helped. All the Web Apps are SPD-Enabled at Site Collection Administration. I've tried connecting from many different PC's. The 15/LOGS folder doesn't get any data from this error, neither the
Event Viewer.
I really don't know what else to do. Please Help!

I found the answer of my issue was in a .NET Agent installed by NewRelic on the server. I found a connection trouble with Fiddler, then I end up figuring this out:

page load time on the user's end.
You can disable RUM by editing newrelic.config and changing this line:

I am wondering the method for changing the default password which modem use to connect the telstra server. I think every telstra boardband client would have one username/password pair for access internet, right?

Connect the iOS device to your computer restore via iTunes. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.

1. MS Access 2003 and later database via OLE DB provide for entry of a u201Cdatabase passwordu201D to provide additional protection.
2. In VB 2005 and in VB2008 environment I have managed to establish a connection with a database password and open recordsets using ADO connection. See code below.

How can the symbol and non-English diacritical marking/punctuation pallet, available in pre-Snow Leopard OSes with various combinations of letter or number keys and functional keys, be accessed in Snow Leopard? Those pre-Snow Leopard versions worked on the fly as one was making text in any pedestrian application and its native font (Mail, Text Edit, for example). One didn't need to dig around in font libraries, change font preferences, etc.

It hasn't worked like that since the Early Chalcolithic (ie, System 7 or thereabouts).
You've already got plenty of answers. Briefly (and grossly oversimplified),
- Mac OS X conforms to a standard known as Unicode; in its current incarnation, it defines over 100k characters.
- A keypress is translated into a character according to the current keyboard layout.
- The graphic representation of a character (ie, glyph), is provided by the current font.
- If a font lacks a glyph for the requested character, either another font will be automatically chosen (Mac OS X text engine), or some form of feedback (empty box, question mark, etc) will be used.
- To inspect the actual key codes, use a utility such as Key Codes.
- To inspect the current keyboard layout, invoke Keyboard Viewer.
- To inspect the full complement of glyphs of a font, invoke Character Viewer (also accessed with the Special Characters command).
(Remember that both these utilities are resizable and zoomable -- you can enlarge them to a comfortable viewing size, then zoom out to see more of the screen for your original task.)
- For a more detailed look, use a utility such as UnicodeChecker.
- The default keyboard layout depends on your Mac OS X localisation.
(Keep in mind that there's no need to stick with the default layout; choose whichever one makes sense to you, given your language, habits, and proclivities. Mac OS X comes bundled with quite a few, including some obviously designed for the huddled masses of refugees from the Dark Side, who, in their wretched ignorance, have the unmitigated gall of labelling our native ways "really uncomfortable". Oh well, this, too, shall pass.
If none of the supplied keyboard layouts fits your needs -- if, for instance, you write your emails in Etruscan -- go out on the 'net, you'll find quite a few. Or write your own with Ukulele, it's not really all that difficult.)
- Use Keyboard Viewer to familiarise yourself with the current layout and to enter the odd character; but, to be proficient, you should learn your layout to the point that KV is no longer needed.
- Use Character Viewer to enter the odd character not available in the current keyboard layout.
Neither Keyboard Viewer nor Character Viewer are effective tools for more extensive needs, eg, for writing and editing bilingual or multilingual texts. In such a case, you should enable the respective keyboard layouts and switch between them with a keyboard shortcut.
A few interesting layouts bundled with Mac OS X have already been mentioned. Let me add three.
- Dvorak: several layouts based on the Dvorak keyboard. It is claimed that the latter is more productive and lessens RSI risk.
- US Extended: based on QWERTY, it offers a more extensive set of diacritics (eg, caron, breve) via dead keys.
- Unicode Hex Input: also based QWERTY, it allows input by Unicode codepoint (in hexadecimal), so it's the most extensive layout of all; eg, to enter the character "Parenthesized Number Twelve" (U+247F), hold down Option, type "247f", release Option.

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".

Setting up default connection for accessing emails...

I had a quick look and found similar problems on here, but none that I thought were the same.
I've been able to set up Gmail to be received through my 'Messaging' on my N96. Turns out its quite a handy function. Also figured out that you can get it to automatically check you mail at regular intervals. I want to use this, but I don't want to have to select the connection every time the phone wants to check for new mail. So I need to set up a preferred connection. That's no problem...
The problem occurs when I try to select my WLAN as default. However, every time I select it, the phone freezes up. Not completely, as I can change programs and even exit the messaging settings via the hang up key, but if I do that, it doesn't make any changes.
I have deleted and restored the WLAN connection, I have accessed my inbox manually, so it isn't a problem on Google's end, and I have checked the various connection options to no avail.
So, does anyone know why it my phone would freeze when trying to set up my WLAN connection as the default connection for accessing my e-mails? Any questions about my situation, just ask and I will gladly supply whatever you ask for.
