E51 flash lite error
Hi,
I installed a screensaver .swf file. When I try to enable the
saver I get an error 'not enough memory, close some apps and try again'
If I try and run the file from the file manager it begins to run but comes up with 'flash content error:9'
Any ideas on how to get this to run properly? Can flash lite be uninstalled and a full version be loaded up onto the E51, will it run ??

the screensaver you want to view might not compatable on phone,it may run properly on pc.

Flash Lite 2.1 error on Windows Mobile
Haven't been able to find much info on this error when using Flash Lite 2.1 in either IE Mobile or Opera Mobile:
"flash lite 2.1 for windows mobile 5 will support flash 7 content authored for mobile devices only"
I'm using CS5 and publishing the SWF as Flash Lite 2.1 with Action Script 2.0. When I run it through the Device Central emulator I get this output:
Flash version of "lite2_player.swf" is Flash Lite 2.x
Dimensions of "lite2_player.swf" are 240 x 200 px
Is there something else I need to do to make sure the swf is "authored for mobile devices"?Alessandro,
Yes, I see now another Flash Lite 2.1 player installed not
under media but under menu. Starting it allows me to browse my
Flash Lite 2.1 files and they display fine.
Next up, I must try to get Flash Lite 3, but developer
applications for Flash Lite 3
have closed afaik. Does anybody know where/when/if/how a
Symbian edition Flash Lite 3 player can be got to test on a Flash
Lite 2.1 player phone?

Flash Lite 2 Error Code 5 on N95 - Test your own movies
I have developed a couple of little FlashLite 1.1
applications recently and have been made aware of an issue that
seems to affect the FlashLite 2.0 player. When the user hits the
'C' (cancel) key on an N95 that is under the right soft key the
player crashes out with 'Error Code 5'. Having done a search the
helpful documentation on this particular error code is "there is no
error error code", wonderful helpful.
In the FL3 player I don't see this problem. Also the FL2
player in the N95 browser is not affected. I have not had the
chance to check on the FL2.1 player. I have also tested this on a
FL2.0 movie I have created, and that is also affected, so it seems
its not specific to the FL1.1 files I have produced.
On a test movie I have run in FL3 player the 'C' key seems to
have no key name, it returns undefined. Maybe this is the root of
the issue?
I have tested this on a couple of FlashLite movies from the
FlashLite exchange, so far all are affected by this player issue. I
have also tested the issue through a movie packaged via Janus, it
is still affected.
Can anyone help with a work around for this player Issue. I
am guessing there are a large numbers of flash lite applications
that could be affected by this.

much XML data or other data from a network connection. You may be
trying to process a lot of Actionscript in a single frame.
If you are using XML then you should consider a different
format, maybe key value pairs.
Another approach is to load pieces of the data and process
them in batches. You can use setInterval to enable a fake
asynchronous behaviour.

Hi everyone,
I am loading 4 xmls in my application whose size is not more
than 200 KB. My application is 75 KB.
I am loading these xmls into their respective arrays. I
tested this application on E51 and it is installed on memory card.
When I am manpulating the array contents and send this
content to the server sometimes I am getting memory overflow error.
I have kept track of the memory which I noticed at one point
of time exceeds 2 MB and overflow error occurs.
I tried freeing the xml objects using <xmlObject>=null
after loading the contents into respective arrays, but still the
memory freed is very little.
How do I solve this issue?
Moreover the static and dynamic heap memory for flash lite
applications varies from device to device. Is there any way to
extend the memory or use virtual memory sort of thing when the
application is installed in memory card instead of phone memory

while and I am an ACE. For a Qualcomm specific question you may

but in the meantime, I can at least tell you what has been working
for me.

I hope that helped. The biggest message—test on your
device **(but suprissingly, the numbers on my Flash (not qualcomm)
emulator when targeting my exact device are the same as on the
device. Once it gets below 70% the device throws memory errors.
Also, make sure you do garbage collection (search term in FL help
file) otherwise as your program stays on it could throw errors.
(i.e. After 20 minutes the device could throw a memory error but
not right away. This actually happend to me.).
*p.s. Obviously functions require FL 2.0 and not 1.1, but we
are in the BREW forum. To be backwards compatable to FL 1.1 you
would need a frames based method to measure time.

I'm trying to open an swf movie (Flash Lite) in the Nokia
s603rd Browser like this "file:///e:\documents\movie.swf" and it
gives a msg error "Web memory full. Close some applications and try
again".
I open an html file in the same way and works fine -
"file:///e:\documents\page.html".
If I request the swf file from an HTTP server it works fine.
Can anyone explain wy localy the Web browser cannot open a
local swf file?
FernandoI would think you can bring the .mov into the timeline and make your split and add your pictures. You will have to adjust the audio obviously.

I'm from the Philippines, South East Asia and I want to
purchase a Flash Lite 2 Player. My Adobe ID also says that I'm from
the Philippines.
I went to Adobe Store - Asia Pacific (International). I
supplied the IMEI number, Handset and Phone Model. Upon clicking
Secure Checkout, it gives me this error message:

I dont think I did something wrong in the process. Why is the

JonSorry, I am not Adobe, Im jon in Japan, and I too have had
problems purchasing FlashLite2 from USA. I think you would need to
make a new account to purchase the FL2 BUT your address sets you up
as being in Philippines. It may be impossible for you to purchase
it Unless you contact usa adobe in the USA by phone.
The reason your country is not listed is because there are no
phones that accept FL2? If you DO have a phone that accepts FL2,
then it could be a licensing issue in the pacific region. I
recommend that you call USA adobe for this issue and explain to
them that you are a developer. -

Flash Lite 2.1 for WM5 Activation Issue
I followed the instructions for installing and activating the

As I know, unlike desktop PC player, there is no progressive load capability with Flash Lite.
May be there is one option for FL3 is to stream a mp3 from Flash media server or compatible server. You might also be able to use the FL2 video object to stream audio only 3gp or aac audio from RTSP server.
I can not say this is proper way but hope you will be succeed. -
I'm building a simple game in flash lite. Whenever I move the character, I instead scroll the movieclip the opposite way to give a moving effect while keeping the character in the center of the screen. The problem is that whenever the top of the background image goes above the top of the screen, the entire image is no longer rendering, liked its being clipped or culled out by flash. Its still visible, and runs fine in flash player and air. The problem only seems to be recreatable in the device central testing on CS5.5. I'm currently trying to get a phone that runs only flash lite to see if the error persists.
I have tried the scrolling, which as I said doesn't work, scroll rect, which isn't allowed in Flash lite, thus doesn't work, and creating a bitmap background and using its draw method to copy the movieclip background onto the bitmap (which fails once the matrix passed in in the draw command has a negative y coordinate). Copy pixels hasn't been successful either (copying the movieclip to a bitmap, and trying to copy a section of that bitmap onto the background bitmap). The normal scrolling command, the scroll rect, and the draw method all work in flash player (even when compiling with flash lite), just not on the actual test with the flash lite phones in CS5.5.
Does anyone know how to either A. get around this problem to allow negative y coordinates or B. disable the clip plane on the flash lite 2D version. Currently, the movieclip that is being rendered is 2000x480, while the stage size is 480x320, so when the game scrolls down 100 units, it should show the background image between y coordinates 100 and 420, but instead doesn't render (as if being clipped). Everything runs fine in flash player (even with a flash lite compile) and as an air application.There is no Flash Player available for Blackberry
devices.
