E52 bad speaker quality

I have the issue with the speaker quality. I hear noises like the metallic sound. Its very annoying - does somebody has simillar issue?

@mic2mic: That might be, but the only official solution and the only solution we should recommend to people, is to hand it over to an official Nokia care point.
Such non official actions you've done is not okey to talk about in these boards as it is Nokias official discussion sites. - People might get the wrong Idea and start "fixing" their phones themselvs and void the warranty and possibly damage the phone even more.
Even though it might not be the earpice itself, it's still a hardware issue. - And we don't fix hardware issues here. - Nokia care points does.
Cheers!

  • Lenovo Flex 2 14, poor speaker quality.

I just bought a Flex 2 14 and I feel that the speaker quality is really bad. The speakers sound plastic and, to be honest, crappy.
I've tried tinkering around with the audio settings and the Dolby thing, and while it gives it a little bit of boost, the quality still feels quite poor.
I just wanted to know if this is normal? Or have I had a bit of bad luck when it comes to my speakers?
    Thanks for your input.

I have the same problem.  Very disappointed.  I have a very old HP and it has 100% better audio that this laptop.  Wish I had bought something else.

  • Bad overall quality

    Hello,
In the last few years, Nokia dramatically decreased the quality of its products. I know of 4 people that bought a Nokia phone in the last 18 months, all of them had to be returned already in the warranty period:
Two Nokia 6110 Navigators: one had a micophone that didnt work anymore overnight, the second was unable to chrge after a few months and the camera wasnt working anymore (screws had to be tightened to fix the camera). On Nokia 6110 Navigator, you also notice the bad building-quality, as you can move the slider, even while closed, at about 2 millimeters, on both phones in same direction. (from beginning!) A known issue.
Thrid phone: a Nokia 3120classic, bought 3 months ago, now speaker not working anymore, phone did never fall down.
Fourth phone: a Nokia 6220classic: tried a firmwareupdate and crashed during the update, had to be returned to Nokia Service Center. curently Nokia is investigating these problems with 6220classic and N82.
Besides the bad quality of the hardware, the firmware/software also got so many bugs. On Nokia 6110 Navigator there are so many known bugs, at the beginning (for a whole year!) there were so many obvious bugs (even the daily alarm-clock didnt work correctly!) that we have to wonder whether this phone was ever tested by anyone at Nokia. Nowadays we got used to the remaining bugs, that are also partly in 6210 Navigator and a few of them are all on Symbian-OS60-Phones. As there are tons of bugs on 6220classic too, if you try to update your phone, it is a really big "chance" to get a broken phone.
Great thing, isn't it? The bad quality keeps ongoing on the new products, if you read some reviews of the newest Nokia phones. No wonder, as phones that are soon 2 years old, still got so many (partly obvious) bugs, how could a new phone work the way it should? And the hardwarequality rarely improves if you build the phones in countries in cheaper, eastern countries...

Quoting: mccbleues answer to something i didnt mention:
The old "I never allowed my phone to get wet" story is very, very tired. All Nokia phones have a label inside (in some models, it is visible in the battery compartment, in others it is completely insude) which changes colour when exposed to sufficient watre to cause damage to the phone. No warranty repair rejected for water damage is a guess, it is a water-tight case with strong evidence against the owner.
As for dust getting in, this again comesdown to the phone being somewhere where there is a lot of dust. It has to come from sowmewhere, I and stand by my statement that these modern phones are sophisitcated devices not Fisher-Price toys, if a phone is left fumbling around in a pocket or handbag, or accompanying its owner in a dirty environment, it is susceptible to problems.
Answer from me: Sorry, but do you read what I have written? Obviously not, as all of the phones got repaired for free during warrantyperiod, as Nokia saw that for example there was nothing broken due to water getting inside or dust, or whatever, all had defects caused by bad quality or assembling. Anyway, the problems were not at all related to this kind of things, and I simply mentioned that the phones were always kept in save places, to show you, that it WAS not the customers fault. All 5 phones got therefore repaired for free. I am not complaing about their reparation, because that is OK, Nokia service centers are doing a good job.
The fact is, that I wonder how this can happen, and about the quality of the phones from the beginning on, so i notice a very high number of phones getting broken just due to bad quality of hardware or other technical problems that occur. Even if you might purchse the phone, and only leave the phone turned on and charge every time the battery gets low, without touching it or using it, it might get broken. The Nokia 6110 Navigator that got broken over night (microphone) while lying on a table at around 20degree celsius is such an example. How can this happen? I thought it was impossible to happen, but it happened.
This is definitily a result of bad quality, and not of customers usage-behaviour.

  • 10.6.2: Bad image quality with SIPS

I used to convert my PDF documents with SIPS like this:
    /usr/bin/sips --setProperty format jpeg --setProperty formatOptions high -z 400 200 sourcefilename.pdf --out targetfilename.jpg
This results in a very bad image quality after updating to 10.6.2 (the text contained in the source pdf file is nearly unreadable in the resulting image, especially when using the -z attribute for downsizing).
I could reconstruct this behaviour with several machines today: when using 10.6.1 the quality is fine, but after the update to 10.6.2 the resulting image quality is unacceptable.
Any ideas? Or could this be a bug? The man page for sips does not contain any information about new parameters and the image quality for other target formats (tif, png, ...) seems to be ok.

That picture looks like it was taken in a dimly lit room.
You could try using night mode but you will need a very steady hand.
Most basic phone cameras just cannot produce good pictures indoors when not in brightly lit areas.  LED flashes just cannot do a good enough job when compared to real cameras.
Megapixels don't equal quality, it's the lens and flash that make the biggest difference.

  • Still bad video quality

even is catalyst cs 5.5 two of my problems do not resolve.
bad video quality in fullscreen. i have some videos for offline view (768x576 @ 2600 kbps) but still fullscreen view is messed up, all blocky, not proper video interpolation. in vlc or any other player the flv file looks fine!
the videos also have a 4:3 ratio and show white borders in fullscreen on a 16:9 screen in letterbox, how can make the borders black?
    is there any solution?

    Hi
    as example
Creating a PAL movie in iMovie HD 6 then import this into a NTSC iDVD project
    • Works but with a losy quality
I do use JESDeinterlacer3.2.2 and let this do the PAL to NTSC conversion
Now burned as an NTSC iDVD project
    • Best result possibly without buying PRO-applications for $$$$$$$
This way should work the other way around too.
Most modern PAL DVD-players can playback NTSC (if TV is old in Bl/W)
Most modern NTSC DVD-players can't playback PAL
If playbacked on a Mac PAL or NTSC is of no interest.

  • PE 7 with Canon 5D Mark II - bad slowmotion quality

    Hi,
I've used the trial version for some days now to set up a video with shots from my Canon 5D Mark II.
I want the video clips to play in slowmotion so I've set the speed to 50%.
When I render the video I get bad quite quality (jagged playing) and I want it to be smooth.
Does anyone know if this is a know problem and could be solved in any way in PE 7?
If not, will it be the same problem in Premiere Pro version or does this version have a lot better render quality?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.
There are a couple of articles on this forum on "Canon 5D MK II" footage, and many more on the PrPro forum. Pay special attention to links to other articles and also comments from Jeff Bellune, a noted author and Community Expert. While I do not recall "slow motion" being discussed, there is much discussion on the .MOV files from that camera.
The Adobe fora allow one to search by both Subject and by People.
If I find some of the links, I will post them here.
Good luck, and have you done a Render (hit the Enter key) to Preview in the best form possible?

  • 5800 Really Bad build quality

Well I am now on my 3rd 5800 and they all seem to have really bad build quality.  As others have mentioned there is a big gap along one side of the phone (top right hand side running down past the volume buttons) and in the dark light leaks out through the gap
Come on - how can anything like this be put out to the general public - this is a serious issue.  If you can get one side of the phone to close properly then why didn't you get the other side to do the same?
As a product designer I know that during the design stage there are several prototypes made, parts checked etc - how could this be passed as ok?
I am seriously considering ditching the 5800 all together - for something that Nokia are classing as a premium model they really need to re-consider its quality.

This is really annoying me as well.  This phone cost me a lot of money and it's the worst build quality/design I've ever seen.
People talk about dust getting in through the gap but what worries me is that it is much more likely to let in moisture!   I've checked with Vodafone and moisture damage is NOT covered by their warranty. So unless Nokia admit that it's a manufacturing fault you'll have to pay for the repair youself.
    Of course,
    1) If their wasn't a gap down the side of the case water wouldn't get in so it wouldn't need repairing!
    2) If the phone gets water damaged it's almost certainly going to be classified as "beyond economical repair"!
Come on Nokia, admit it's a manufacturing fault, recall all the phones and repair them free of charge.

  • Windows Xp bad sound quality after installing itunes 10.5

After installing itunes 10.5 to be able to get the ios5 update my itunes plays every file with really bad, distorted quality. I try other players even Quicktime works fine. What could be happening?

Try to download, and install the latest Realtek HD Audio driver.
    Here is the download link:

Select the second options (High Definition Audio Codecs (Software))
And when you install this, i think everything will be good.

  • Hp Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060 All-in-One K110 series Bad Print Quality

Hi! I am an avid fan of Hp printers since I was a kid. It is the family's most trusted brand for printers. Our printer worked just fine until I printed a colored page. When printing an all black page, the print is ok. For the colored output, the picture has some shadow/3D effect in it that I can't understand. It makes the picture unrecognizable. I tried troubleshooting but doesn't work. I am using Windows 8 and have been searching the net for solutions and etc but could not find one.  I wanted to print an alignment page, clean the cartridges and stuff but could not find the Solution Center just like in Windows 7. Please help me. I badly need it. I have an important document that needs to be printed. My future depends on this one, literally. So please help me. I am begging you. T_T

Hello I_Am_Lost,  Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having an issue when attempting to print due to bad print quality. I do have a few suggestions that we can try in the attempt to resolve this issue. First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. I have also located a troubleshooting document that deals with HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060 (K110a) All-in-One Printer - Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues. If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest contacting HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. , : click here.  Thanks for your time.  Cheers,

  • 6120c with 3.83 producing bad sound quality !

hi i got a new 6120c few days back and currently i have 3.83 V firmware , i am experiencing very bad mp3 quality when ever i use supplied head set which is HS47, that sound quality is below average or may be my phone is producing just mono not sure about it ... is nokia planning to come up with any new firmware for 6120c???
can we rollback its current firmware 3.83 to the orignal and older one which i think was 3.41 ????
    thanks

Hi, did you use the Music Transfer application from Nokia PC Suite to transfer your mp3 files to the phone? If yes, probably your files were converted to .aac format to decrease file size and probably they lost some quality. This happened to me before. So I just used File Manager from Nokia PC Suite to copy my mp3 files from the PC to the phone's memory card as they are, without any conversion. This procedure solved the sound quality issues for me.

  • Nokia 6730 - Poor Speaker Quality

Has anyone experiences poor speaker quality. I have recently obtained a Nokia 6730. It is two months old and now the speaker for ring tones sounds like it is distorted. Almost like they are blown yet the phone's never been used at full volume. In fact the phone is used in the factory "General" or "Silent" settings.

    Hi noFan,
When you said sound of voice, are you referring to voice calls? If yes, please note that the quality of the audio that is coming out on the phone is  based on the audio frequency that your operator use. If your operator supports "Wideband audio", also known as HD voice, you will have a high definition voice quality. If they are just using the "Voiceband" which is the standard, you will have the normal quality sound for voice calls.

  • Poor speaker quality

My mid 2009 macbook's internal speaker sound quality just got really poor. they were fine but all of a sudden they sound like a bad transistor radio. both speakers are still working but just sound horrible. sound is fine through headphones. any thoughts? i have already reset pram and smc.

Here is one suggested fix that works for many of us who experience the low sound issues on laptops (like the L505 series) which use the Realtek HD Audio drivers. These directions are for Windows 7, other operating systems may require a slightly different set of steps.
First, Download and install the latest Realtek HD Audio drivers from the Realtek website. If the ".exe" or executable file version of the Realtek HD audio driver is downloaded, this file may need to be run twice (run installer, reboot computer, run the installer a second time, then reboot the computer a second time) to properly install the audio driver.
Second, once the audio drivers have been updated, enable "Loudness Equalization" on either the Start --> Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Realtek HD Audio Manager --> Sound Effects tab, then click OK to save the setting change. Or on the Start --> Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Sound --> Speaker Properties (select Speakers then the Properties button) --> Enhancements tab, scroll down the list of sound effects to enable "Loudness Equalization" then select the OK button to save the setting changes.
Once the Realtek drivers have been updated and the "Loudness Equalization" has been enabled the system sound audio level is much louder, however the DVD and Audio CD audio levels might continue to be low for some users. Some find that setting the Equalizer, found under the Realtek HD Audio Manager Sound Effects tab or on the Speaker Enhancement tab, to "Powerful" seems to help with the sound levels.

  • Bad Picture Quality On SD Channels With HDMI And Panasonic VIERA 720p LCD HDTV

I just bought a new Panasonic VIERA 32" 16:9 8ms 720p LCD HDTV TC-L32X1 for my in-laws when they finally had Verizon FIOS brought into their neighborhood last month.
Install was by the Verizon tech using the HDMI cable I also had shipped to them.
The HD channels quality is excellent, but the SD quality is smeared -- almost looks like an impressionist painting.
It is not the TV -- the TV menus are crystal clear, as are the HD channels.
And, it is not just the broadcast HD -- the DVR box menus are also smeared when viewing as SD channel, as is the guide and the pop up channel info.
We've tried all the settings on the TV -- Zoom, 4:3, etc.
The other TV (an older CRT) actually has better SD quality than the Panasonic.
My research indicates we're not the only ones on FIOS with this problem. Someone suggested using the component hookup rather than HDMI?
Other say that IMG 1.7 is supposed to solve the problem, that the SD quality was fine before IMG 1.6.
    Any suggestions, solutions, or updates?
    The picture is virtually unwatchable.
    Thank you!

Here's a particularly relevant post if you don't want to wade through all the above links:

Joe01880 - Being a new customer as of last October, I have never seen anything other than IMG 1.6.  My understanding from other posts is that before IMG 1.6, the SD PQ on an HD box was just fine.  I'm not sure what the complaints/gripes/begs were for IMG 1.6 but it seems to me that, if Verizon knows what changes were made, it should be straightforward to determine which changes caused a deterioration of the PQ.  I think it's been at least 6 months since the first complaints of poor PQ, so I don't really see how anyone can claim that Verizon is in danger of "rushing" an update to address this problem.  I also don't think that a forum topic, no matter how much it complains or gripes, will cause Verizon to rush.  I am much more worried that during a large portion of my 2 year contract that the issue won't be addressed at all, so I'm happy to add my voice to those complaining."

  • Sony Mobile Indonesia: Bad Service Quality

    Greetings to you all.
My name is Giovan Pangku from Indonesia, an owner of Sony Ericsson Xperia ray ST18i.
I am also a member of a facebook group, "Xperia Community", a group where we share everything about Xperia devices.
On this thread, I'm going to explain about a petition that I made on 10 June 2013, for Xperia users in Indonesia, regarding the bad repair service quality. I'll just make this thread short and simple.
The petition was made because I read comments from members, complaining about the long time that Sony Mobile Indonesia takes to repair their devices (starting from 2 weeks, until more than 4 months), or devices that got broken again after a repair (or in several cases, more than once).  Their reason was the delay in importation of spare parts.
The Manager of Customer Service of Sony Mobile Indonesia, Mr. Roi Permadi, contacted me several times by email, explaining things regarding the delay. I could understand at first.
But it's already February 2014 now without much significant improvement. I also already contacted someone from Sony Mobile Sweden, assuming that Sweden is the headquarter for Sony Mobile (I know Sony is from Japan), and that someone contacted Mr. Roi Permadi to contact me again, and it was no use. So I wonder if Sony Mobile International can help us address this issue?  Does Sony Mobile Indonesia always run out of spareparts?  How can we, as customers, wait for months just for phone repair? Does this mean that Sony Mobile is not ready to serve its customers in Indonesia?
More about the petition is here:
    https://www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/sony-mobile-indonesia-must-change-their-disappointing-repair-...
Currently, more than 2200 Xperia users in Indonesia have signed it.
So please, Sony, don't let us be disappointed in Indonesia.
