E52 synchronize contacts with Exchange too late

If I add a new contact in Outlook, than it only appears about 24 ours later on my E52 phone. I would like it to be synchronized in 15 minutes. What should I do?
The Outlook is connected to the Exchange server. On my phone the synchronization of contacts is turned on, the time of the synchronization is always on. E-mails and calendar items are synchronized almost at once. Only the contacts get synchronized too late.
The firmware of the E52 is 031.012, the version of the Nokia E-mail is 2.1.0.

  • Best Practice for Droid Gmail Contacts with Exchange ActiveSync?

Hi, folks.  After going through an Address Book nightmare this past summer, I am attempting to once again get my Contacts straight and clean.  I have just started a new job and want to bring my now clean Gmail contacts over to Exchange.  The challenge is creating duplicate contacts, then defining a go-forward strategy for creating NEW contacts so that they reside in both Gmail and Exchange without duplication.  Right now, my Droid is master and everything is fine.  However, once I port those contacts from Gmail onto my laptop, all hell breaks loose... Does Verizon have a Best Practice finally documented for this?  This past summer I spoke with no less than 5 different Customer Support reps and got 3 different answers... This is not an uncommon problem...

In parallel to this post, I called Verizon for Technical Support assistance.  Seems no progress has been made.  My issue this past summer were likely a result of extremely poor quality products from Microsoft, which included Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Lync (new phone system they are touting which is horrible), and Exchange.  As a go-forward strategy, I have exported all Gmail contacts to CSV for Outlook and have imported them to Exchange.  All looks good.  I am turning off phone visibility of Gmail contacts and will create all new contacts in Exchange.

  • How do I sync my contacts with exchange server?

I have a mac and an ipad and an iphone and my office is all microsoft and pc's.  We are running outlook and exchange server.  My email works fine.  My calendar works "just ok" as it is quirky.  The BIG problem is syncing my contacts on all three devices with my company's contact list which lives on the exchange server.  What is the deal with this?  Is there a work-around?

Let me fill in some blanks.  I have a powerbook running Lion and using mail, addressbook and ical.  My office is all on pc's and outlook and connected up on our network with exchange server.  So here is the issue:
    a.     It first surfaced when we got iphones.  Apple connects to exchange server's email and calendar relatively well but we have a COMPANY contact list that works great on exchange and outlook on everybody's PC's but DOES NOT work with the iphone unless you buy a third-party app that costs like $300.
    b.     THEN, I decided to get a mac and I have the same problem with the native apple applications (mail, addressbook and ical).  Everything works EXCEPT addressbook.  Basically, I have to create a fully redundant addressbook that will not talk to the exchange server company contact list.
So my question is really this:  I don't want to have a separate contact list for my company contacts that does not sync with the mother ship.  I don't like not having all my contacts on all my devices.  It seems that there is a problem between the global contact list in exchange and my addressbook contacts on my apple devices.
Does anybody know about this issue and does anybody know how to solve?

  • Z10 problem synchronization contacts with BBLink

I need an help for the synchronization of contact with BB Z10 software version 10.2.1.2977, BB link software version 1.2.3.56, for me it's impossible to sync all my contacts from PC to BB Z10 with BB Link, the reply of BB Link is  "Synchronization failed", someone can help me? Thank you

This isn't going to be the most technical description but
Outlook and your Berry will not sync if you have any pictures associated with any of your contacts on your Berry or Outlook. It will take forever and fail. End of story. If you delete the images then it will work
    UNLESS !!
If you use twitter, LinkedIN or Facebook the BB10 will import those contact details and if you use Facebook then images will be involved. You have to go back and "unlink" thse contacts. I actually went back and deleted facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn from my Q10 and then deleted all address books and reimported imageless contacts from Outlook.. and it works.
You can continue to use BBM and it will show those messages but that won't screw up your sync.
Botton line if you have an inage in an address book which by default implies Facebook  then you are pooched. Maybe  I am wrong but I fixed it as above and sync now takes less than 15 seconds for 1000 contacts and 6 months of calendar data

  • Synchronisation Contacts with Exchange incomplete

Dear Nokia, there is a serious problem with your you Synchronisation with Exchange: not all contact fields are being synchronised.
After several test the following appears:
    1) Some phone number fields are NOT synchronised to Exchange and as such not backed up nor available in outlook.
    2) Some Outlook field are not copied to the phone so you miss them when "on the road"
    3) The Outlook fields "Home Phone" and "Home Phone2" are both synchronised to the nokia field "telefon(private". If you use both fields in Outlook, then 2 Fields are created in the phone, both called "telefon(privat)" so you don't know wich is which.
Now in contrast with Windows Mobile Nokia never designed their fields taking account of exchange but had their own definitions instead. As business users are using exchange as their primary contact DB, the mail for exchange on the nokia is nice, but dangerous at the same time. You might think all you contacts entered or corrected at the phone are backed up to Exhange, but they are not. So you must backup the phone contacts manually. Obvoiusly, Windows Mobile doesn't have this problem. Also, the fields not being copied to Exhange are not marked accordingly. So you don't know which fields you better do not use on the phone or at least you know they are not copied/backed up.
I see 2 or 3 solutions to cope better with the problem:
    1) Nokia adopts fully to the exchange contact fields. Would be the most future oriented solution.
    2) Nokia marks the fields on the phone according to the synchronisation status with exchange. This would be already a big help. This can be a color, lettertype, litle star or what so ever.
    3) Nokia keeps the old fields and adds the fields from exchange not being copied currently. Phone Fields not being copied are marked accordingly.
The bring clarity to the readers and nokia: the following exchange phone number fields are NOT copied to the phone:
    - Assistant's Phone
    - Callback
    - Car Phone
    - Company Main Phone
    - Home Phone
    - Home Phone 2 (mixed up with telefon(private)
    - Other Phone
    - Primary Phone
    - TTY/TDD Phone.
The following phone Fields (from german tel. version) are NOT being copied to exchange:
    - mobieltelefon (privat)
    - mobieltelefon (dienstlich)
    - Videoanruf
    - Videoanruf(priv)
    - Vid.anruf(dienstlich)
    - Fax(privat)
    - Internettel.(priv)
    - Internettel.(dienstlich)
    - Push to talk
    - Gemeinsame Ansicht
    - SIP
The most irritating fields are those for the mobile numbers and potentially Internet. One tends to use them not realising you will not find the number back in Outlook.
As being said, the very first step should be to distinguish optically in the phone between fields being copied and those which are NOT.

I would think that if your IT policy prohibits personal contacts in your Outlook contacts, then they would certainly prohibit you syncing the same device at work and at home.
If you merge personal contacts and work contacts, they appear under your Outlook Contacts - separate from the global address book. This is no different then having your spouse listed in your contacts folder.
One thing you can do to keep them separate, is to create a new folder in Contacts (at the same level as Contacts) call it "personal" and keep all your personal contacts there. They are not co-mingled with "contacts" and on the iPHone you have distinct groups. You do have personal info on work computer though - Is your IT policy that strict that you can have no personal stuff on a work PC? If so, then I think you are still breaking the rules by doing it with your iPhone.

  • How do I setup useful shared contacts with Exchange OWA Outlook 2013

    Hi There,
    I have a non profit I'm helping out. They have Exchange 2013 Sp1 & outlook 2013 .
How can I setup shared contacts for Outlook and OWA users?
I have been struggling to setup a useful shared contacts folder. No Matter what way I do it there seems to be major shortcomings.
They have 1 "Shared" mailbox account [email protected] and many user accounts [email protected]
I first imported the contacts from csv into a contacts folder in the info@ account, which works great for the Info@ user. When I share the folder with other users they can see it listed in "People" in full Outlook, but if they're addressing a message
they can't see the contacts when they hit the TO button. If I look at the properties of the Info@ Contacts folder in the folder list of the User, the Outlook Address Book tab is missing. Also can't find any way in OWA for User@ to open the shared contact folder.
I also tried using Public folders to share the contacts but found problems there too. Using Full desktop Outlook, users can share contacts, add to their Outlook address book etc. Great, but... there's no way to access Public Folder Contact folders in OWA.
They're a fully volunteer organization so many people are using OWA from home, they're not IT people so it needs to be easy.
Is there something I'm missing, when I started out on the task I thought it would be simple. Its hard to believe after all this time MS hasn't addressed these major shared contact shortcomings.
    Thanks for any help!

I decided to go with a mixed solution.
Not every member has a society email account, only the executive and key volunteers have society exchange email accounts.
I imported the society member list into the the GAL, this allows any society mail users to email other members easily
I then imported the larger marketing list into the shared mail account which is restricted to a few users. They can be shared from there to other users, but they can only access those shared contact from Outlook (not OWA)
It's not ideal as OWA users cannot access the contacts from the Shared Mailbox but they can at least find other members addresses easily.
It looks like I could also setup a new GAL and share it with only some users, haven't dug too deeply into this yet.
    Thanks for your help Ed

  • Synchronize iCal with Exchange Calendar

The answer may be somewhere else, but there are too many post to get through to find the answer.
Previous to Tiger, I had it where my iCal synchronized with my calendar in Exchange. Once I installed Tiger, I cannot find this option, and my iCal is not synchronizing any longer with my Exchange account. Everything else synchronizes just fine.
Where is the option to turn this back on? I've searched through the iCal prefs, Mail prefs, iSynch prefs, .Mac pref panel, etc., cannot find the option to turn this back on.

    Yeah, it's a real pain.
I had been using GroupCal but feel hesitant to use the 2.5beta - it would be be nice to know how far off 3.0 is.
What I have discovered with Apple Mail/iCal though is that the fault seems to be in how Apple Mail deals with the initial meeting request on the Exchange server. When you look in your Exchange Calendar folder in Apple Mail you get a URL that doesn't work. (I have just seen the note about Apple-[ so will try that soon)
What I do currently is get my outlook mail onto my PocketPC and either accept or give tentative acceptane to meeting requests. I then see the appropriate .ics files in the Calendar folder when viewing via Apple Mail and can click on the file to create the appropriate iCal event. This event then shows up correctly, as you would expect of an Outlook event including attendees and meeting status - which you can change in iCal.
There is something simple that Apple seems to be missing here.

  • Full of crashes to synchronize contact with thunde...

    Hi,
Summary : The synchro to *.contact files (Windows contact files that are XML files) crashes (reason not analyzed) with miswritten data. So the wrong files must be destroyed manually.
We suppose that we have not outlook on our system(s).
After failing with Thunderbird (error 8d5e000f and crash for incompatible product TH 10.0.2, I tried to export (synchronize with Windows contact). I failed too.
This because when you have the separate files *.contact well written, as they are written in XML language you can (I you have the good tools or the right informatician near you convert them to compatible definitions for thunderbird. Easy to go from XML to *.VCF for example and import to thunderbird.
There is a failure noticed at the end, without information about the nature of this failure.
In fact files *.contact have been created, but many data are loosed or miswritten.
Then you need to delete manually all.
Sometimes (most of time) products when they can't end their job, as they have created temporary files they destroy them , this so that moistened information could not be spread off into your data's, this is not the case.
More these XML files contains errors so that most of products are not able to display these data and crashes.
Even you have defined several contact directories (one per addresses book), you are not prompted and the moisten data are spread into default windows addressbook (I have not found any place to specify windows addressbooks location (for thunderbird it is different because you have a profile manager).
Indeed I have made a true test using 1175 contacts... coming from a N95.
So for the moment it seems that there is no other solution to save and export your contacts than Outlook.
You will have to read  and rewrite by hand to another support. Let's go twenty year back.
    Trebly

    Hi Trebly_N,
     Thank you for your feedback.
Thunderbird 10.0 is not supported by Nokia Suite 3.3.89 version. You should install Thunderbird 9.0. It should synchronize all your contacts.
If you have problems with it, please produce the logs files while you are Synchronizing your contacts and then submit the error report using this link http://tiny.cc/ja40z
The instructions for collecting the log files will appear in section 14 when you select section 12 b using the above link.
    Thanks,
    Best regards,

  • Cannot send Mail from Search shortcut "email [name of contact]" with exchange account

i have a Q10 with an exchange Account configured. Mail works fine from the hub but when i use the search feature of the q10 by typing "email [name of contact]" the compser opens but i cannot send. the account field is empty and when i press send the button gets greyed out. the email is not sent.
the problem seems to be that the default-account setting is not recognised when you use the search-shortcut-feature of the q10. when i compose a mail from the hub the account-field is filled right.
same problem has a friend of mine from another company. he also uses a different excahnge server/account.

  • Calendar and E-Mail Synchronization for 4 Devices with Exchange... Oh My!

Good afternoon from the Garden State! It’s a sunny day outside but all is overcast and grey here because of synchronization issues with Exchange....
We're having issues with synchronization and Entourage 2008 (12.1.7) between a Windows Vista system running Outlook 2007, a iMac, a MacAir and iPhone all centralized on a single Exchange e-mail account. Some of the symptoms include:
    - Duplicate calendar appointments appearing the Exchange account after they are changed on multiple devices
    - Calendar appointments whose date and time have changed but are not synchronizing across all devices
    - E-mails that were sent a week ago are suddenly being sent again and received in duplicate
    - Entourage refusing to receive new e-mails until the cache is cleared
Our primary issue relate to calendar appointments. Changes to calendar items are being made primarily via Outlook 2007 and then synchronized out to the devices although this is not always the case. E-mail appears to be less of an issue although update problems still occur.
We're going through now and trying to cut down the possibilities of errors and settings now. I searched a lot through the forums and found many individual issues but nothing this complex. The user in question is highly mobile and needs e-mail and calendar updates relatively quickly.
Anyone have a complex synchronization situation like this?
What have you done to deal with synchronizing the e-mail and calendar on this many devices?
Any ideas on where we should be focusing our troubleshooting efforts?
Any ideas on where we can get other information on synchronization issues?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

  • Can I sync my iPhone calendar with exchange server AND ical on my mac ?

I have been happily using my iPhone synced with my Macbook over usb via iTunes.
I have contacts and iCal syncing. I have a number of 'calendars' set up in iCal which allow me to view separate aspects of home and work but they all exist within iCal. iPhone just treats these as colour coded appointments (different colour for each ical calendar)
I really like this set up.
However, I just changed jobs to a firm where they have a hosted outlook exchange set up and I need to use the exchange calendar for work appointments and showing my availability.
I have managed to setup my iPhone to work with the Exchange server for email as well as in apple Mail on my mac. This has all worked fine. However, I hesitated when iPhone asked if i wanted to sync my contacts and calendar. I said no as I was unsure if my private calendar/contacts would be uploaded to the public work area.
In fact it seems that this is the least of my worries:
As I have read on apple support for iPhone:
"Note that after configuring an Exchange ActiveSync account, all existing contact and calendar information on the iPhone or iPod touch is overwritten. Additionally, iTunes no longer syncs contacts and calendars with your desktop computer. You can still sync your iPhone or iPod touch wirelessly with MobileMe services."
So I am really pleased that I didn't let it sync those and wipe out my personal data if that is really true.
But now I am unsure how best to enable myself to view and update the work calendar on exchange.
Also it would be nice to see work contacts on my iPhone.
    Contacts
    - although i have said no to sync contacts with Exchange in fact it looks like I can get contacts ok - when i send email from the Exchange account on the phone , it searches Exchange contacts on the server as i type in the TO box.
    - also in Contacts on the iPhone I have a new group that has been created with the name of my Exchange account. The group appears to be blank when you go into it on the phone, but you can type in the search box and get contact details from the server just fine.
This seems workable for now for my purposes, although updating contacts is not going to be possible that way.
I'd like more info on that if poss but more importantly..
    Calendar
    - Unlike Contacts, no Calendar has been auto created for Exchange
    - Unlike contacts, I can't see how I can view or search or create an appointment in my Exchange calendar on the iPhone
What is the best solution to this problem - I presume lots of people face the same dilemma. My initial research suggests that there are multiple ways round this but all of them look like workarounds with various disavantages.
    Questions are
    - Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
    - Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
    - What is the best work around for this?
At the moment I am seriously considering getting a separate iPhone for work and have that sync with Exchange fully although that seems a bit drastic and does not solve the problem of seeing work and home appointments on the same calendar.

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

  • Sync contacts with N70

    Hello there,
I can syncronise my N70 data (Contacts, notes,...) using "Nokia PC sync" without any problem. However, when I open "Nokia phone browser" from "My Computer" and then choose my phone from the list and then I click on "Contacts" and choose to update my contacts, I get an error message telling me "PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation".
It is strange as when I update "Messages" from the "phone browser" I do not get any error and it completes without any problem.
This is the only sync problem that I have. Do anyone have a solution for this issue?
    Thank you.

When I use "PCSuite's synchronize" app to synchronize with Outlook, It does not return any error. Actually, it synchronizes contacts with outlook without any problem. The problem appears first when I use explorer to synchronize the contacts. When I click on synchronize on the toolbar of explorer, a window appears showing that it is trying to sync, nothing happens on the phone except Bluetooth icon appears like it sends data, and finally the results window opens showing a warning: "PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronization".
I don't know if it writes also a log file on the hard and if yes, where can I find the log file.Message Edited by zerocode on 23-Feb-2006

  • Question about exporting contacts using Exchange

My wife is trying to export her personal contacts off her iPhone to mail merge for holiday cards. Her contacts are linked through an Exchange account at work - but I cant figure out how to get her personal category exported to our iMac - which is not linked to the Exchange account. She could go through Outlook at her work and export that way- but she was trying to get this done at home and sent out. Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you!

If her iPhone syncs contacts with Exchange, then the export has to happen at Exchange/Outlook. There is no way to plug the iPhone into the mac and export contacts from the iPhone.
Does she have Outlook Web Access? She could log into that and email herself (home) Vcards....

  • Synchronization Problems with BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.5v and Windows Mail Client

BlackBerry (RIM) Desktop Manager 4.5v synchronization setup does not work properly. I cannot synchronize my desktop calendar because the only desktop application formats available are (<None>, Ascii Import/Export and Yahoo), Windows Mail is not an option!
I contacted BlackBerry and the only response I received was that I need the Outlook Express program to synchronize my desktop calendar.
Microsoft upgraded from the Outlook program to Windows mail to provide a better program, which I happen to like! The idea of purchasing the Outlook Express software when there is nothing wrong with my current mail program does not make any sense to me! And will BlackBerry support any Vista system issues if there are any compatibility problems with the old Microsoft mail client?
Has anyone contacted BlackBerry about this issue? Any ideas how to fix this problem?
Why can’t Blackberry (RIM) resolve the synchronization issue? In addition to this problem, you may find that the Desktop Manager Device Switch Wizard does not function with the Treo 650 and BlackBerry 8830 and the Advanced feature in Backup and Restore does not seem to save the any files that you want to restore.
    BlackBerry Please Help!
    Note:
Microsoft Office Standard 2007 is $399, really expensive! Not sure if you can purchase the mail client separately.
    - Microsoft website: [“Outlook Express has been replaced by Windows Mail, an improved e‑mail program with enhancements such as junk e‑mail filtering and protection against phishing messages.”]

    Hello My8830
You can only synchronize contacts with Windows Mail - you can not synchronize calendar, memos, or tasks.  Outlook express does not have these items, and the version of Windows Mail that I am running also does not have them.  Windows Calendar is seperate from windows mail on my version of Vista.
So to clarify it all, downgrading to Outlook Express will still not get you calendar synchronization as it does not have a calendar.
    Cheers

That's strange, because no where in the iPhone's limited warranty does it state "365 days", but it does state 1 year. I think the only way they could get out of that is because of the battery, which is not covered by the warranty. HOWEVER, it is stated on AT&T's website that claims are handled from 31-365 days, which would explain why the Apple people acted as such. I know you have Verizon, but since it is (essentially) the same device, it's under the same warranty.

Many people have had stories about issues happening as soon as their warranty expires, with products in general.
I'd just consider upgrading, and selling your old one.
