E6 and Bose Headphone

Hello,
I have bought the new Nokia E6-00 today and I like it a lot! There is just one thing:
I can't connect my Bose headphones.
I have the 'Bose on-ear headphones' with the 'mobile phone microphone-integrated cable'
When I connect the headphone to the E6 it says: "accessory not supported". I get no sound through the headphones, and the headphones mic doesn't work (so nothing works). Instead the speaker and mic on the E6 itself keep on working.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it a possibility that this will be fixed in an upcoming software update?
thnx for your support
Robbert

If you are getting a report that they are not supported, then I guess that's the case, however, although not Bose, I've never found a set of headphones, wired or BT that wouldn't connect to a Nokia Phone, but there's always a first time ! Only thing I can suggest is to ensure they are firmly pushed into the 3.5mm jack point, as it does take a considerable amount of pressure, and other users have posted similar problems and that's been the issue, hope you manage to get them working, great product,
Good Luck

  • Iphone and Bose Headphones

Has anyone else had trouble getting their Iphone to work with Bose Quiet Comfort 3 Headphones? I can't get sound through mine and it feels like the plug into the phone is not fitting snugly. Any help would be appreciated.

The port on the iPhone is a lot narrower. The headphones will work but you will need an adapter. The adapter is just narrow on the end that plugs into the iphone.
Theres an e-bay seller with the ID: techtoys888
Or you can try searching for : Headphone Earphone Headset Adapter for iPhone
This guy was the cheapest I could find.

  • IPhone and Bose SoundDock

Has anyone tried using their iPhone with the Bose SoundDock?
I was wondering if it would work. I know my Belkin cable to use the iPod in the car to play music through the sound system (that I bought at the Apple store) will not work with my iPhone.

Yes, the Bose Sounddock is fully compatible with the iPhone.
This page outlines how to use the iPhone with the Sounddock:

Why is this? And is Apple doing anything about this? While Apple's headphones have (finally) admittedly gotten better of late, I still prefer the much more comfortable headphones & sound quality that Bose makes and that I spent the money for.

  • Using the iphone with Bose headphones

I had trouble using the phone function on my iPhone with Bose over-the-ear sound cancelling headphones, connecting the two with a Bose connector with a mouthpiece (http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shoponline/headphones/noise_cancelling_headphones/accessories/qc2_commkitacc.jsp)
When the phone is on and sending a signal the headphones generate an irritating buzz which isn't audible to the person that you're talking to, but is to you. It seems to be caused by the electromagnetic field created by the phone, i.e. changing the position of the phone makes the buzzing disappear or get louder and the closer you bring the phone to the headset the louder the buzz.
Two things seem to make a difference, the orientation of the phone, move it around until the buzzing decreases, and the second is to fold a small loop (diameter 1 - 2") in the wire 5 or 6"s below the mouthpiece. This seems to cancel out the sound and with the right orientation of the phone eliminates the buzzing entirely. It seems to work best when the loop in the wire is directly in the path between the phone and the headphones. Fight interference with interference!
    Anyone got any other suggestions?

Yes, same person. I talked with Bose technical support and they told me the phone won't answer in sleep mode.  I guess I got the wrong person if there isn't a sleep mode. So I push the answer button on the headset when the phone rings.  The phone gets answered but the call doesn't come to the headphone.  Got any idea's?  Thanks

  • Why MBA (Mid - 2013) doesn't support with Bose Headphones for Audio Input

I just bought two MBA 11(mid - 2013)  and MBA 13 (mid - 2013) two week ago and I found out that it doesn't support bose audio headphone (MIE2i mobile headphone) for audio input. So I am having experience for audio input with it. When I am having skype or recording, the voice go slient if i use that headphone as external microphone. All of my friends who are skyping with me can't heard my voice if i am doing skype with my MBA.  Audio output is fine though, you can hear as usual in headphones. Internal microphone works though,  but it is not good for privacy though.
Thus, I went to apple store (Five ave) to trouble shoot about it, they said that is because Bose has noise cancelling, (BUT Bose MIE2i doesn't have noise cancelling though). They gave me two ear buds of apple ipod (one is outdate version & another one is latest version - that representative sucked, because she doesn't value the customer, she gave me outdate ear-buds, but i didn't urge with 3 dollars ear-buds), apple ear-bud works for audio input and output, however apple ipod ear buds are suck, it hurts the ears all time if you wear for 1 hrs. that's why I use quality headphone such as Bose headphones. Unfortunately, my bose headphone is not compatible at all.
Is there any one having experiences with audio input with your headphones when you are using skype or audio recording. Which headphone is compatible with your MBA for input/output?

The MacBook Air has a single headphone port. The microphone or headset in question must be of the three-ring variety, just like Apple’s headsets ......, the Macbook Air has the “headset” port,  not a conventional 2-ring mic and speaker port.
    Many are using this,

Youre likely going to need to get a USB headset to use with your Air.   OR, standard headphones plus a USB Mic.

  • Bose headphones with Lumia 520?

I've just acquired a Lumia 520 and I'm getting to know and like it, but one disappointment has been that my Bose headphones have limited functionality with the 520.  These are earbud type headphones that have a control on the wire that lets me pause/restart what I'm listening to and change the volume. The same control also has a mike.  These worked great with my iPod Touch, but I find with the 520 that the pause function works, but the volume controls do not.  I haven't tried the mike yet.  Even the pause function has limited use, since if I pause for longer than 5 or 10 minutes, pressing the pause button again does not restart the audio - I have to pull the phone out, turn it on and press play, which eliminates one of the main advantages of these headphones.  Does anyone know if this is a limitation of the 520?  Is this kind of functionality not possible with the 520?  Are there other headphones that will do this?

You will need to go test them or check a compatibility list via manufacturer if available, as i said i test mine in my local currys store for example where they have sample products to try in the store.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Bose headphones!

I have the bose noise reduction headphones (awesome) and would like to be able to use them with my iPhone..............is there an adapter?
I saw and adapter on the apple store site. It says TTY adapter. I don't know what that is.....
    any ideas??
please don't make fun cuz I don't know what TTY is : )
    Thanks

In a fit of frustration, unwilling to shave down my $300 Bose headphone jack and unable to wait for the required Belkin adaptor (Belkin part# F8Z177), I ran down to the local Radio Shack and picked up part# 42-2559 (Headphone Extension Cord, with volume control). This is an ~$8 item and can be easily made to fit the recessed phone jack on the iPhone by carefully cutting off about 1/32" of the plastic casing above the metal jack connection, using a new razor blade or Exacto knife. I know, the volume control is redundant, but does not do any harm. I will probably switch to a more compact adaptor when someone makes one. It works great and if you mess up (assuming you don't cut your finger off) you are only out $8.

  • Poor volume with Bose headphones

When using Bose headphones, I get very poor volume while trying to listen to music on iPhone. Volume with earbuds is normal. Please explain/help. Thanks.

Assuming you are using a QC2 or QC3. If it is not one of these then you need an external amplifier, as others have said.
If you have an original Bose QC2/3 headset and cord there is a switch on the end of the cord that goes into the headset. Pull the cord out of the headset and make sure the switch is set to the "Hi" position.
Bose also makes a replacement cord specifically for the iPhone. If you have purchased one of these cords the volume should be quite loud, as the Bose has a built in amplifier.
In either case make sure the battery in the headset is fresh.

  • My Ipad 2 external speakers does not work and headphones has popping sound. This all occured at the same time as my Iphone and Ipod headphones only played mono (no, the "mono" option is not on). How can there be audio issue for all these devices?

My IPad 2 external speaker does not work and the original headphones have popping sound when used. This all occurred at the same time as my IPhone and IPod headphones only plays mono (and no, the "mono" option is not on) with the original headphones, as well as, other headphones tested.  How can there be audio issue for all these devices at the same time?
As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.
    Peace,
    P. Dreadie

I am unable to see the airplay icon on my macbook air, iphone or iPad which would enable me to use my Bose speaker through airplay. I set this up in the UK but have taken my macbook and bose speaker travelling with through Thailand. Ive wifi in my room and am able to access the internet on my laptop, Ive also been able to through the Bose Soundlink air wifi set application connect the bose speaker to the Wifi too.
I am only able to play my itunes through my macbook speakers and cannot find the airplay button which should be next to the volume slide once turned down to less than 1/3 of the volume..

Thanks for your help.  Since I'm uninterested in loading all my photos (the only option) into photostream, I won't be able to use the settings in ATV.  I guess I'm just stuck with using iPhoto on my MB Air.  Thanks again.

  • I've got a 7 year old 30gb video ipod and the headphone port no longer works! Please help :)

I've got a 7 year old 30gb video ipod and the headphone port no longer works.
I went to the Apple shop and they said it is now vintage and they can't fix my baby they offered me 10% to trade her in for a new model...
what else can I try to save her?  I've tried cleaning and wiggling and restoring. Everything looks and feels ok.

I've just found 'iPod Dock Connector Headphone Jack' on ebay it as an adapter that will connect my earphones via the wide ipod port better than 10% of something new

  • IPhone volume not working and showing "Headphones"

When I try to change the volume on my iPhone it shows "Headphones" even if they're not plugged or connected via Bluetooth (I'm sure there's nothing connected) and behaves accordingly (e. g. playing audio only when there is a phone call). With headphones plugged in it works fine, playing normal audio on the headphones and phone call ringtone on the headphones and on the iPhone speaker.
I'm noticing this since I opened a game called "Dark Echo", that I've played only with headphones, without using headphones. The game says in the title screen "Headphones recommended". I don't know if this is the cause. I'm also pretty sure it isn't a hardware problem caused by dropping food or liquids on the headphone jack because the area around the jack is clean.
I tried restarting the phone, deleting the game, reinstalling the game, cleaning the jack gently with a microfiber cloth, plugging and unplugging headphones, blowing in the jack, playing media and changing the sounds and music settings.
My hypotheses are that it is an iOS 8.2 problem, a problem of the game or a hardware problem.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue and how can I resolve it?

I resolved this issue by cleaning the jack with a microfiber cloth, blowing and plugging and unplughing headphones again.
