E6 battery life: difference between Anna and Belle

Overall, I like the user experience of Belle. What really sucks is the battery life: one day or less. Now I've found a "guide" to flash back Anna and am considering this step because I've read more than once that Anna is better on this side.
Sincerely, when I had Anna I didn't notice these great performances, but maybe it depended on a young battery. So now I'd like to know if anyone can support the choice of Anna for increasing the battery life.
Thanks

Hi Pepelemoco,
Discussion of the non-official methods you are alluding to are not permitted on these discussion boards. Not to mention it will void your warranty, and may cause your phone damage. A general rule of thumb is that no firmware is able to be downgraded. If you are having issues with your battery life, have you checked that you have not recently installed an application that may be causing this? If you believe you haven't, then try re-installing your current firmware via Nokia Suite. Yet if this doesn't work, then a three-finger hard reset may be in order, and if this doesn't work either, then finally a trip to your local Nokia Care point for them to take a look at.

Does anyone know if there is any battery life or heat difference between the two video card options for the 15" MBP's?  Does the 6750M with 1GB of ram cause the fan to run more and eat up more battery life than the 6490M?
    Thanks

Since you don't play games, you'll notice a difference in graphic and video applications that are GPU accelerated, like Motion, and Photoshop CS4 & 5.

  • What is the difference between Applecare and Bell's smart/phone care?

Since I bought my last Iphone (including Applecare) it seems Bell has come up with a Smart/Phone care plan. Can anyone tell me the advantges of one versus the other? Picking up new Iphone Friday and I would like to go in informed.
    Thanks

the biggest difference is probably that Applecare is an extension of hardware coverage, Bell's Plan also provides options to be covered for liquid or accidental damage.
    http://www.bell.ca/Mobility/Promotions/SmartPhone_Care_warranty_plans
There's also AppleCare+  , which offers similar options but not exactly the same.
    http://www.apple.com/support/products/iphone.html
A big advantage for AppleCare or AppleCare+, is the extra technical phone support that comes with it from experts, which means you can call them everyday for all your technical issues with the device, instead of having to pay an 'incident-fee' for each phonecall

  • What's the difference between 45Wh and 54Wh battery?

    Hi,
I was looking for a new battery for my MacBook Aluminum Unibody (Late 2008) and found that there are 45Wh and 54Wh battery. So what's the difference between 45Wh and 54Wh one at the same capacity? Will the 54Wh one offer a longer usage-time?
    Thanks,

  • What is the difference between PUSH and FETCH

I am a little confused. I use my iphone for both my personal POP email accounts and my business exchange account. I am trying to save as much battery as I can so I turned off push and set everything to manual...but now when I try and get may mail....it either says "connecting" or "checking for new mail" at the bottom of the screen and nothing happens from there.
What is the best way to setup this situation for the most battery life? I don't need it to automatically download emails just when I open the email accout would be nice.
I also noticed that when I delete an email from my iphone on my exchange account, it also deletes is on my desktop at work...I need to turn this off...is it possible?

    Hi maxum25,
The difference between push and fetch is that:
When using push, the server sends a signal to the iphone and lets it know that an email is coming its direction. Kind of like receiving a call. The iphone does not need to do anything except receive the email.
When using fetch, the iphone has to wake up every so often and send a request to the server to see if there is any new email waiting for it on the server to download. This takes more time because the iphone sends a request, the server says yes there is some, the iphone says ok give me the new email.
Now the exchange email uses active sync to keep all changes on the exchange server and mobile device in sync. This is automatic and is the nature of exchange and active sync. In order to keep this from happening you would need to talk to your IT dept. and see if they have an imap or pop alternative. Even using imap reflects the changes back to the server.
    Hope this helps.

  • Difference between PC and mac?

With the Intel-based macs, we can install Windows on a mac and run it as if it's running on a PC. That leads me to a question. What exactly is the difference between PC and mac? I know they are different on the OS, but that's just on a software level, which I don't think constitutes the difference. The hard drives are formatted differently on both machines, I know, but we can still use the same hard drive for both a PC or a mac, we just have to format it the right way. So what really is the main thing that constitutes the difference between a PC and a mac? Putting it this way, I can run PC on a mac, can I do it the other way round? Can I install a Mac OS 10.5 on a pure PC made by companies like hp or Dell (or I can easily make one on my own) with an Intel Core 2 Duo/Quad processor, and run the machine like it's a mac?

    Allan Eckert wrote:
While some have managed to hack things so that they can install OS X on a PC, the results have been not very reliable. Generally OS X has many part that do not function properly.
It doesn't work well because the Mac hardware itself is different from what is found in any other Intel-based computer. Even the CPU's & support chips are not off-the-shelf Intel parts but variants optimized for Macs that are not available to other computer makers or to DIY enthusiasts.
This is probably why for a time in 2007 the 'fastest Windows notebook on earth' was a MacBook Pro, as tested by PC World, a fact touted for a while in Apple TV ads. (It lost that title to a more conventional Wintel laptop about a month later, but the new champ cost over $5000, had "almost nonexistent" battery life, & weighs over 11 pounds, which should give you some idea of the advantages an Intel-Apple collaboration has over the competition.)

  • Looking for new laptop what are the differences between pro and air? Besides size. Does the air preform like the pro?

Looking for new laptop what are the differences between pro and air? Besides size. Does the air preform like the pro?

The NEW macbook Pro and Air are EXTREMELY close in form factor
The newest macbook Pro is essentially a larger macbook Air with Retina display and options for speed in increasing prices up to an independent graphics and quad core processor.
both Air and new Pro now have PCIe SSD and permanent RAM.
The Air is the lightweight portable form factor, fast to boot and shut down, but with longer battery life than any of the macbook pro in 13"
Now the new macbook Pro and macbook Air are extremely close in form factor and nature.
    both have 802ac wifi
both have permanent RAM, no superdrive
both are slim profiles and SSD
The only real differences now are (in the most expensive Pros) faster processors and quadcore processors and top end model autonomous graphics.
....and of course the retina display
both are now "very good for travel"
Other than features the form factor of the Air and Pro are VERY close now,....so now its merely a matter of features and price more than anything.
You need an external HD regardless of what you get for backups etc.   Drop into an Apple store and handle both and make your choice based on features, such as Retina or non-retina, .... both at a distance now look like the same computer.
The Pro weighs more, ....but nowhere near what it used to just a month ago on the older macbook Pros
The NEW macbook Pro is a different creature entirely than the older macbook Pro, .....the new Pro is thicker than the Air, but id frankly call the NEWEST Pro a "macbook Air with Retina display" , or
Maybe a “macbook Air PRO with Retina display”
Instead of Air VS Pro now,.....its really a smooth transition from Air to pro without comparing say, 2 different creatures, now its like contrasting a horse from a race horse.
Either one in 8gig of RAM (preferably)... the 4gig upgrade costs very little,  the I7 you will notice only 15% faster on heavy applications over the I5, and NOTHING on most APPS.....I5 has longer battery life.
As you see below, the non-Retina 13" AIR is 82% of the Macbook with Retina display in resolution
there is no magical number of pixels per inch that automatically equates to Retina quality.

A huge internal SSD isnt a game changer for anything, you need an external HD anyway
what you WONT READ on Apple.com etc. is that the larger SSD  are MUCH FASTER due to SSD density

  • What Is the Diffrence Betwenn S60,Anna and Belle?

    Let me know this....

S60 is also known as Symbian^1. Anna and Belle are different versions of Symbian^3.
Symbian^3 can be found on devices such as the N8, C7 and X7 whereas Symbian^1 can be found on older devices such as the 5800XM and X6.
Some of the main differences are the ability to add multiple homescreens and widgets. But most of the differences are "under the hood" for better performance and usability.
Anna and Belle are two different versions of Symbian^3, with Belle being the more recent version and having a complete new UI and the ability to add six homescreens as opposed to three in Anna.
In case you are wondering, devices running Symbian^1 cannot be upgraded to Symbian^3 due to hardware limitations.

  • Difference between wait() and sleep()

    hi
can any one tell me what is the difference between wait() and sleep().
    thanks in advance.

    Mahaboob,
This question has been asked before; however, I will give you a real life example.
Imagine you are in a super market and you go to the till to pay by your card, then behind you there are 10 people waiting in queue. You card does not work since you have not supplied the right pin code; there are two option
    1- Sleep
    2- Wait
1- If you sleep you will lock the till for your self and try to figure out the pin number while the queue behind you increase on the resource (till)
so you are engaging the till and wasting its time and wasting the till machine resource (CPU)
2- you are polite, you move aside and wait so so that others can use the resource (till) until somebody in the queue finishes ( a good person) and give you a shout to tell you come in to the till to process your payment; you wake up and enter the pin number and go out from the super market.
Now when you sleep, the current thread locks the resource so no body can use it and wast the CPU time
while wait make the current thread release the lock on the object and does not ( this thread) actually wast the CPU time
There are much more explanantion, try to search this forum.

  • Activity System status: differences between u0093Openu0094 and u0093In processu0094 status

    Dear Experts,
What’s the difference between “Open” and “In process” system status? In help.sap.com it: “There are four system statuses that represent the life cycle of the business transaction:
    • Open: has been recently created and not yet processed (for example, contract from the Internet)
    • In process: administrator is clearing up questions”
But, how does the system assumes the “In Process” status ?? I‘ve tested business activities creation with different employees assigned and, when editing and saving the business activities with these BP’s the system status does not change.
However, in other “unknown” situations the status system is changed to “in Process”.
Any ideas about the meaning of the “In Process” status? And when the business activity switches to that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Joao

    Hi,
These four system statuses that represent the life cycle of the business transaction:
    ·        Open: has been recently created and not yet processed (for example, contract from the Internet)
    ·        In process: administrator is clearing up questions
    ·        Released: contract is complete and legal. Follow-up processes can be started (printing, billing, distribution, releases and so on)
    ·        Completed: All actions directly linked to contract are completed
    ·        Closed: all actions indirectly linked to the contract are closed (for example, from R/3: batch run to actual costs)
Each status having its own control at the configuration level. If you observe the following process you may understand the importance of various statuses.
For example in any transaction by default status would be Open. Once the transaction opened by the respective responsible person he will change the status as In Process, Once the assigned task is completed he will change the status as Completed.
Please notice the configuration settings in the following navigation path:
SPRO->IMG->CRM->Transactions->Basic Functions->Status Management-> Change Status Profile for User Status->Select Quotation->Double click on the different status. You can observe the difference.
    Hope I convinced.
    Best Regards,
    Johnny.
    Reward if it helps.

  • Minimum difference between average and peak bitrage in mpeg2?

is there a technical reason why compressor insists on certain minimum differences between average and peak bitrate when compressing to mpeg2?
when analyzing other footage, i regularly see material where the difference is much smaller than what compressor will allow me to do.
for instance; i'm seeing material that is compressed at 4.7 average with a peak at 5.2. compressor insists on setting the peak at 5.5 when the average is 4.7 ...

Well, compression theory says that, ideally, the max bit rate would be double the average bit rate. But since since life often gets in the way of theoretical perfection, Compressor 2 imposes a minimum 1 Mbps difference. This is partially touched upon in the DVDSP 4 manual. From page 64:
Since the VBR methods are most effective when the maximum bit rate is about double the basic bit rate, or at least 1 to 3 Mbps higher than the basic bit rate, the Max Bit Rate setting is forced to be higher than the Bit Rate setting.
Now, while Compressor 2 is coded for a 1 Mbps difference, it doesn't always follow that, in my experience. There are instances when, footage permitting, Compressor uses average bit rates lower than specified as well as never hitting the max bit rate that you've set (but it really does depend on the footage).

  • Difference between Availability and Substitution

    Hi all ,
Anyone knows the difference between Availability and Substitution ?
    Regards
    Bella.
    Edited :Feb 1, 2010 10:12 AM

    Hi,
    1. Availability - is when employee is having free days according with work schedule (e.g. weekend), but has to be available to be called for work. In many cases availability time is paid (e.g. 10% of hourly rate), as employee should be available and that implies limitations on spending free time.
If employee is called for work during availability either substitution or overtime can be used.
    2. Substitution is used when employee works for some time not according with his normal work schedule that is saved in IT 0007. For example, employee has to work in different shift, substitute colleague, etc. Substitution, has not impact on planed working time in the period, but it does have impact on actual working time in the period.
