E6 new Firmware critical problem

Hi,
After 3-4 days of upgrading to latest firmware(for E6)..the screen goes blank/locked while dialling or attending calls,  even during the alarm too, screen goes dead.
honestly, i sensed the problem while switching off my alarm but touch-screen didn't respond well & later experienced the screen went blank/locked/unresponsive(till u cancel/end ur call) for dialling & attending calls too.
my phone is @ Nokia care since monday, they promised me to return in 1 hour & now its more than 4days, & now they escalated the issue to L3 support vch may take another 10days.
Anybody having idea. I request NOKIA moderator to plz look into d issue@ d earliest.
My Location:Bangalore/India
P.S. There are some more ppl who hv experienced d same prblm & they are ended up everytime by replacment with new phone, coz they again did the upgrade on new phone & same problem started after 5-6days. Its a critical problem. smbdy help!

Dear posters
I too was confronted with this problem on my E6. I upgraded to Belle refresh and from that moment, whenever I receive a call, make a call, or when the alarm(clock) signals, the display goes black
When receiving a call, Very, very briefly (maybe as short as two-tenth of a second) I see the caller info in a flash before the screen goes to black (so I can not really read it)
After the call (or - in case of an alarm sounding - after stopping the alarm, the display is illuminated again
Also, in my situation, no protective foil is covering the proximity sensor nor something else is obstructing it
It happened directly after the update, before it everything was fine which makes me convinced that it can not be a hardware failure
This assumption is backup up by what I have read on the web:
the module in the E6 that is detecting the proximity (as well as performing the ambient light detection) is called "DiPro" and uses an external Infrared-LED. The current flowing through this LED (which off course determines the amount of IR-light and therefore the sensitivity of the proximity measurement as a whole)  is software controlled
This (to me)  is a very plausible explanation that there is something wrong with the software indeed
Why this fault does not appear on all E6-phones I don't know, but I assume that the combination of the Belle[refresh]  software (incorporating the assumable altered steering of the DiPro-module)  in combination with certain hardware versions of the E6 is a conflictuous one
It's pretty bizar that Nokia has not supported up til now although a software update is clearly the basis of the problems
If anyone here has found a solution on the mean time, I really hope to hear from him/her
Thanks !!!

  • WRT54GS New Firmware Old Problems

Hi , I have a WRT54GS v.5 and updated the firmware from its original v1.52.0 to the latest v1.52.2 last week. Since then, the router hangs after 2 days in mixed mode. I first thought it was skype, with all the recent problems, but it wasn't. Eventually, its all access. A search on this problem suggests this is an old problem, resolved a year ago in prior firmware releases. Now I'm wondering if somehow this fix was forgotten in v1.52.2. The kids PSP's dont work set to G, so I have to go back and forth. Before I roll back this firmware upgrade, is anyone else experiencing this problem since installing v1.52.2? Scott

Help...I had this resolved for months....I cant get by a day without my GS going offline. I don't want to buy another $35 Netgear that has so far, run for 6 months....This is frustrating. This router is back to doing the same thing it did when I first bought it...For a while, setting to Wireless G had this resolved...Now its a show stopper, because I switched to Skype for my home phone... I put the router back to factory settings, and rebuilt from scratch with latest firmware. Every 5-6 hours, off the internet it goes. Wireless and LAN ports. My Comcast provided WEBSTAR modem detects a link, and the access lights are going crazy, but can't make anything out of them. I'm wondering if.... Has anyone seen an ISP disable devices running p2p apps? In this case, Comcast wold detect Skype, direct competition to digital voice, and kick my network off. Just guessing here. Please help me...

  • N95 new firmware language problem

Nokia Software Updater download and install the firmware V 11.0.026. I restore all the backup files ( contacts etc.), my phone restarted but the supported languages don't include greek language.
How can i return to oldest firmware, or how can make this one work on greek ?
As it is now, i can't write a new contact or message on greek.

You can't change it back to the old firmware.
Although i think you can take it to a Nokia Service Centre and they can install the Greek Language for you.

  • WRT54G v6 problems with new firmware

I performed the mandatory firmware update and soon began having problems such as DNS errors when trying to access web pages and no IP address assigned to secured wireless connections using DHCP.  I reinstalled the earlier version and all of my problems vanished.
I tried reinstalling the new firmware several times with the same results each time.  I ran with a backup D-Link DI-524 until I came up with the idea of rolling back the firmware.
    Has anybody else experienced this??

    Hello belbeebala
You should be able to find older versions at the Linksys ftp site below.
Just be sure to get the correct one.
For example, if you have the WRT54G v6, you'll want to be sure you find one that looks something like this:
    wrt54gv5_v6_fw_1.00.9_US_code.zip
That version can be found down near the bottom of the link, and is just an example of the 1.00.9 Firmware made specifically for the WRT54G v5 and v6....look very carefully for the one you want/need.
    Good luck.

  • 46TL868 problems (new Firmware?)

    Hi,
i have several problems with my 46TL868 and wanted to install a new firmware because the Toshiba support said it would solve the problems.
Problem is i can't find a place to download said firmware and i won't pay a lot of money just for someone to plug in a usb stick.
Perhaps someone knows where i could find the latest firmware for my 46TL868 television, or could provide it for me? I would be very thankful.

Well, that was a dirty auto update. At some point, you might try doing the clean manual update and see as posted. If your not experiencing any problems with the older then keep what is loaded for now. At some point update so you can take advantage of the security updates with in the new version.

Also, how I can back to the old firmware?
Is there a program to do the same service?

That's quite odd, just repeat the update process

  • Wrt54g v6 new firmware problems

I just updated to the new firmware 1.02.2. Ever since this update I have to DHCP release and renew about every 30min. As soon as I do this everything is perfect again for about 30 min. What is the problem and/or what do I have to do to go back to the 1.02 version that was flawless. I've done all the normal stuff like going directly to the cable modem. Everything checks out fine. And this definitely happened since the upgrade it was almost instant.
    Thanks, Tony

You may go to ftp.linksys.com/pub/network you will find older firmware versions there. GoodLuck.

  • A problem with the new firmware of the zen tho

I installed the new firmware-2..0 on my zen touch and I have a new trouble that got me crazy!
When I choose an artist from the list in my player and I push play, sometimes it is written me"add music from library <press menu button>"!. This happened in specific artists. What can be the problem?

i had a number of problems after installing the new firmware regarding tagging, and the way in which the player organises music. This may be causing a problem. I think a good start is to copy all your music off the player with mediasource, use mediasource to make sure everything is ide3 tagged correctly (make sure you select ALL tracks in mediasource and press update tags once everthing appears to be organised correctly), and copy it all back using the sync software. It might be worth backing all your music up though somewhere else on your harddri've before you start editting tags. I'm not sure how the player organises the music, but i found it best to stick all my music in the root of the music folder, instead of using heaps of subfolders, which is what the transfer software likes to do. This may not fix your problem, but if not it should atleast eliminate potential causes. There may also be a character in the name which the player doesn't like, so check if there are any strange characters.
    Hope this helps

  • Big problems with updating the new Firmware to my Zen To

Hi, I'm new and not sure, if this problem has occured to other users too.
I wanted to update my Zen Touch. I'm trying this now for over month. My Zen Touch had to been send to Creative two times already and as it looks now, I will have to send it to them for a third time.
Everytime I start the firmware update, the Zen touch crashes and is not recognized by the PC anymore. No way, to fix it from here. I have tried the AutoUpDate option and the manual one. Both with the same result.
Last time I send the Zen Touch to Creative I have asked them, if they couldn't install the new firmware, before sending it back to me. Unfortunatly they didn't and now I have the same problem again.
It dri'ves my crazy! I would like to have the newest firmware, but obviously I cannot get it installed from my PC.
Did anybody of you have this problem too? Or does anybody know a way to solve the problem. I don't want to send it back in. I already couldn't use it now for 4 or 6 weeks. I'm realy pretty angry.

Are you trying to install the v2 PlayForSure firmware?
Ordinarily the process should work unless there is some connection issue with your PC. You might want to try the process on another suitably specced PC, but it depends what state your player is in now.

  • N95 photo shooting problem with new firmware V11

I have got a problem with photo shooting after upgrading my N95 (Product Code: 0534832) to the new firmware (v11.0.026) via Nokia Software Updater.
Before upgrading the firmware, I can turn off the loud and ugly snapping sound when shooting a photo; all I need to do is to change to Silent Profile (that has Warning tones OFF). But it seems that I can no longer turn that ugly sound off with the new firmware!
Is that a bug? Is there another way I can turn the sound off?

Actually I have 2 N95 phones, one is my GFs, both of them are bought and used in Hong Kong.
The way I test the differences between versions is directly comparing each feature with the two phones, where the one with new firmware has product code #0534832, and the one with old firmware has product code #0548445. Both of them has www.nokia.com.hk printed on the box and manuals, so I assume local law is not an issue.
By the way, I have just discovered that the one with product code #0548445 cannot update via Nokia Software Updater.

  • X3-02 problem with new firmware, "waiting" on home...

    Hello,
Today I've got new firmware 6.02 via Nokia Ovi Suite. After that on Home Screen on one of the bar word "Waiting" appeared.
I can't delete this, can't set something else instead. In Home Screen settings that bar is inactive.
I've tried reinstall firmware, remove battery for some time but nothing helped.
    Please help.
    I'm from Poland.

Pls check the memory in use for ur contacts. If u've assigned favourite contacts from phone memory, & they are duplicated d/t any cause,eg being saved 2 times or both sim & phone memory in use then it leads to the msg waiting. To avoid this, set the memory to phone & delete duplicated contacts from the phone memory.
I'm not sure what do u mean by bar inactive as after reinstalling firmware all bars are activated. One for fav contacts, one for communities, one for shortcuts
Please mark the post as solution if it solves your problem.

  • Nokia E71 problem with New Firmware 410.21.010

I have updated my Nokia E71 (RM-346) to new firmware 410.21.010. It creating a problem with battery that drain out quickly. Before update, for normal use, I need to charge once a week. But after upgrade new firmware 410.21.010. It finishes in 24 hour for normal use. I have read article that I can not downgrade, just only to wait for next firmware. Have some one any solution?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had a Nokia E71 running very happily on version 3 firmware. I updated the firnware to 410.21.010.
It worked fine until I switched the phone off and tried to re-start the phone. It stopped working.
It is my work phone. The messaage on the phone said take it back to my retailer. He tried to get it fixed but because Nokia say it is out of warranty I am out of a phone that is set up to use the Oki system.
It worked perfectly well until the software update.
It is now at my retailer waiting for me to collect.
    This is very disappointing.
Especially as I am now considering not using a Nokia telephone ever again. Moreover, I am sure that Fair Trading would consider this matter very strange and might like ot investigate it further.
I want my E71 fixed for free by Nokia as it was working without any malfunctions until the firmware update - which was done after receiving notification from Nokia. I have not been able to use the Oki system for some weeks now and would like to contiue using Nokia. Otherwise I guess Nokia lose another customer to iPhone or HTC or Samsung. I await anyone's advice on this matter.
