E6 with Belle, social app uses wifi only?

I have a nokia E6 with Belle.
When I uses the webbrowser or whatsapp it works fine with 3G but the social app, ovi store or email will only work by wifi.

Problem Downloading app using wifi

I recently purchased an iPad. The problem is that I cannot download any apps using wifi. Everything else works fine using wifi. If I switch to 3G it downloads perfectly. I also have the same issue using my iPhone 4. This only started about two eeeks ago.

You probably have some security setup in your network which is blocking access to the AppStore. Check your router for security settings.

Slow in-app downloads WiFi only

Since updating to iOS 6.1.3, I have noted significant worsening in in-app download speeds over WiFi. (iPad 4G and iPhone 5)
I use a number of apps that download large files. One is a medical text that updates 1-1.2 GB of data monthly. This used to take 30-40 minutes, now takes 8+ hours. Audible audiobooks (200-250MB) take 3-4 hours, MOG downloads take forever while music streams work fine. App updates seem to be ok and web browsing speeds also are not impaired. Speedtest reports more thatn adequate speeds on all the different WiFi networks I have tried.
This does seem to be limited to WiFi. Audible allows the first 50MB of a book to be downloaded over cellular data. Swapping from Wifi to 4g mid-download brings the rest of the audiobook down in seconds!
Any one else noticing this?

I've been having exactly the same problem for a long time since iOS 6 on my iphone 4 and iphone 5.
I've tried to download files in several apps like Download Lite, GoodReader, Dropbox, Bookman, with which I used to do a lot of in-app download tasks. When using LTE on my iphone 5, the speed looks reasonable(500KB/s~1.5MB/s), but when I turn on the WiFi, the speed instantly drop to around 30KB/s.
The "official apps" like App Store, iTunes, iBook, however, seems not to be affected.
I am using WPA2 with AES for my WiFi connection, and turning to WPA/TKIP made no change.
Also tried to reset the network setting and neither does that have any effect.
Guess Apple is not going to fix it on iOS 6, should I expect a fix in the next release of iOS?
**EDIT**: I also have a iPad 2 (32GB WiFi only version) and the problem doesn't happen on it.
**EDIT2**: The problem also happen on another WiFi connection using WPA2 Enterprise.

Why my ipad 4th gen doesnt update apps using wifi connection instead works on 3G?

MY ipad 4th gen is updating apps only using 3g connection whereas my wifi is working fine with chrome and other softwares, but it doesnt update softwares using wifi connection whic. Is unlimited data for me.

The WiFi only iPad does not have a GPS chip and does location through WiFi routers. Tethering to your iPhone will allow you to use the GPS chip on it and utilize Apple and Google Maps.

TS1702 Problems with Bell TV App

Trying to get the Bell TV APP to work. Connecting with Wi-FI. Works with my old 1st Gen Ipad, but same error all the time when I try to watch videos on my Ipad3. "Error loading video. Try again Later [error 1521]". I see by the reviews on the App store, I'm not the only one. Bell support is absolutly no help. they blame it on Apple.

When traveling abroad, how to use wifi only?

My daughter is going to a tech school in Denmark and wants to use her phone for local wifi access (web browsing and iMessage, etc). This morning we were able to exchange text messages when she was not connected to wifi. It appears she would have been using cellular without a global plan. Even with a global plan text/sms messages would cost $0.50 each
I'd like a checklist of what to turn off so her phone will work on wifi only.

We have it working now and it appears that turning off SMS and MMS is what we had missed before.
Additionally, it seems that she can only iMessage with someone who has started the iMessage conversation from here in the U.S. Otherwise, her iMessages are not delivered.
Didn't get to try the Airplane Mode suggestion but it sounds pretty likely to work,,,

IPhone Texting using wifi only?

I am travelling to Costa Rica and I dont want to miss any texts on my iPhone. Is there an app or service that will allow me to send and receive my texts via wifi only on my iPhone? I am on Verizon network.
I know about iMessage but i will need to text and receive from all phones not just iPhone...

There are alternatives ways to call without cell service, but for straight calling from the app does require it.
For calling, if you use an app like Talkatone as it can call over VoIP.
Or if you're tech savvy, connect an Asterisk server to GV
But for the in-a-pinch calls, get the MagicJack FreeCall app. You can call any US/Canada number for free and the quality is surprisingly good over 3G.

E6-00 and Belle update : Cannot use Wifi and LEAP ...

Upgraded the E6-00 yesterday. First issues arise and even after a full reset, it still does not work.
- Wifi connection using LEAP authentication
Network is found, popup to enter username and password, all is good. Except the phone keep trying to connect while I type the password and each time, it re-ask the username. In short I cannot use connect at all as I don't have time to enter both username and password before it loop.... No more wifi connection possible as it use this LEAP authentication. Any way to increase the connection retry timeout ?
- IMAP folder not found
Same config as under Anna, but under Belle, it does not find any folder for IMAP account (and yes, the mail root folder is right), refreshing the folder list, just do nothing.
- MAPS
Say that it's empty and need maps. Give few options:
   * use OVI on the PC : OVI doesn't find MAP on the phone
   * use wifi to download map : .... if wifi would work, why not
Anybody else got the same issue ? Or found solution ?

Ok try to delete your apn, reset the device and resintall the OS. Don't restore any backup ans configure the WLAN apn: settings> connectivity> settings>destinations. Into the WLAN settings go to WI-fi security settings> in the fifrst field select EAP> in the second field EAP plugin settings > select EAP-LEAP.
This way the apn will work again

Please delete your mailboxes and configure them as you want. To create a IMAP access mailbox , for example Nokia Mail (outside of Messaging server) select Other. Put you credentials and choose Standard. You will see into Settings> your mailbox > sync content > Folder subscriptions> choose which folder to sync and it's done

Please delete on mass memory the folder Cities and the file Qf, then open Maps and close the application. Verify that the folder Cities and the file Qf are again in E. Connect your device to Nokia Suite and redownload the cartography.

Then it's likely that you have a hardware issue on your hands. Follow the three r's:
1. Restart: Turn it off and then on again
2. Reset: Hold down the home and power button until the apple logo appears
3. Restore: Connect the device to iTunes and restore it as new. Test the issue and see if it persists.
Don't forget to back up before you restore, so you can keep your data.
If the three r's don't work to solve your issue, you will need to get your phone repaired. To do this, you can go into the apple store or call 1-800-275-2273.

How do i create a hotspot using wifi only?

i am staying at a resort and we had to change rooms because they did not prep the first. The internet was great there, but here, sadly, i can hardly ever find a spot with a steady signal, on my phone. But my laptop does just fine so i want to make a hotspot from their wifi to my phone. You can't. You can only create a WiFi hotspot using your computer if the computer is connected to the Internet via Ethernet. The WiFi radio in your laptop can not both connect to WiFi and create a WiFi network simultaneously.
