E60 VoIP Service Advice?

I understand from trolling this and other forums that a VONAGE Softphone account will not work with the E60 until NAT and other issues are resolved via a firmware update from Nokia.
Is this accurate? Might there be Vonage-based contingencies which would prevent even a nice firmware update from working? Or, can we expect that a unilateral solution from Nokia might be adequate to fix things?
What if any solutions are current working for using the E-series phones with VoIP services? I've managed to get SIPgate to register, and can occasionally make and/or receive calls, but it is quite unreliable.
Advice appreciated. Thanks.

You need a VoIP "minutes" provider where you can send all your traffic (A-Z) ?
This you should post in VoIP "stock" forums. A good many of VoIP providers are hanging there offering their services. Usually there is a rule - large carriers (VoIP providers) with stable routes and good prices will accept to deal only with customers who have large volume of traffic.
I have a tutorial for choosting a reliable VoIP provider, unfortunately written in Bulgarian. I am in process of translating it into English language. Once I finish, I will post a link to it.

  • Mobile number instead of VoIP service? (Korea)

    Hello,
Would it be possible for me to gain access to a Korean mobile Skype Number instead of a VoIP number?
For example, the number you get with a Skype Number has a mobile code "(70)," Which stands for a VoIP Service. However, a regular number consists of the code "(10)," which is what I would like, if at all possible.
    Thanks in advance!

  • N97 - No log-in from the VOIP service menu

I am stuck though I have followed Nokia's procedure for configuring my phone for VOIP calls: Log-in from the VOIP service menu doesn't happen. My SIP-profile is registered. However, I have two VOIP services defined (two globes) with the same name as a consequence of a problem when installing "S60 5.x SIP VoIP 3.1 Settings", then reinstalling, and I do not know how to delete one (the other displays my username correctly). Under the globe, the following text is displayed "Contact not on the contact list. To add, select 'Add fro..."  and no more. My phone is a N97 RM-505 with software version 21.0.045. Would appreciate any help. Thanks

  • Distinctive ring vs. new line vs. adding VOIP service like Vonage or Ooma

I'm currently a FIOS/phone (double play) customer.   I need an additional phone number and am considering my options (getting a new line put in, signing up for a new VOIP service like VOnage, going cheap & just getting distinctive ring), trying to understand everything and weigh the costs/functionality/gotchas.
"Distinctive Ring" is a new option I just learned about, and it seems the easiest, and definitely the cheapest (around $5 extra a month).   However it also seems the most limited and there are a few things I don't understand for 100%.
If anyone can answer any of these questions I'd appreciate it:
    - Can you setup SEPERATE voicemail greetings for the existing landline vs. the new "distinctive" ring number?  Or would everyone calling hear the same greeting?
    - If only same outgoing message can be used, then I assume that each number uses the same voicemailbox, but can you setup different mailboxes for each line in a different way, like having your outgoing message say "Press 1 to leave message for Herman or press 2 to leave message for Granpa", thus create at least quasi-seperate voicemailboxes based on who the person was trying to call?  And if so, how?
    - As I understand it not all phones support "distinctive ring" - so how can I findout which of my existing phones do support this (other than signing up for the service then calling myself and seeing how the phones behave)?
    - Is there any way for my callerID boxes to show which # it is that is being called instead of just who is calling?
    - And is this true, that calling out I would only be placing calls from my original line, that for example on callerid of who I am calling, even if pressing callback on my phone and they called my new second #, they would see my original #, not the new one?
    Thanks for any hints.

Hi, the only tip I can give you is as far as testing if your phone is compatible with distinctive ring you could try one of two things, neither of which are free unfortunately.
    1) Call a number that is busy and then use Repeat Dial (*66) to let you know when the number is free. You will get a special ringback when the number is no longer busy.
    2) Try dialing *61 on your Verizon landline phone. In many states you will reach a feature called either Priority Call or Selective Distinctive Alert. If you add numbers to the list, when those numbers call you there will be different kinds of special rings on your phone.
Again, there will be charges on your Verizon bill to do either of these. If you use *61, be sure to clear your list and turn off the feature when you are done so you will not incur any further charges.

  • Can't Receive Calls on VOIP Service - Need to Check Port 5060

    Hi Everyone,
I use a the www.mynetfone.com.auy voip service. It seems that I'm unable to receive calls (randomly).
I was told by their support team that I need to ensure Port 5060 is active. I checked with my internet provider and they dont block access to this port.
    I need to know:
    1. How can i check to see if this port is actually blocked on the Time Capsule; and
    2. How do I allow access?

    1. How can i check to see if this port is actually blocked on the Time Capsule
By default, the Time Capsule (TC) employs NAT so all incoming ports are blocked.
    2. How do I allow access?
One method is to configure the TC to map port 5060 to the network device that is required to be accessed from the Internet. To do so, the device would have to be assigned a static IP address (or a DHCP-provided address must be reserved for it).

  • I cant delete Voip services from E72

    Hello.
I cant delete Voip services from E72. i made one mistake, when i tried to delete sip-profile: at first I delete it in net menu. After that when Im trying to delete it , phone return to me message: Service is in use. Cannot edit settings. That problem blocking hard reset, also (say something about active calls and connections, but Cell network and WiFi is inactive).
PS: Excuse me for my very very bad english.

    What app is that?
Did you press and hold the app icon till it wiggles and tap the X to delete?

  • Skype and Other VOIP services not working on my N...

    Hi,
I got a new Nokia Lumia Icon with Verizon Wireless contract. I installed skype and when trying to make International Voice calls, all I see the blue backgroud with Skype call outgoing icon and then nothing happens. Sometimes, the call gets active as in it shows the seconds counter of the call, but nobody can here anything on either side of the call. I do have some credit balance in my Skype account.
I tried re-installing the app but to no avail.
I tried with both Wifi and Mobile data
Also, I installed Nimbuzz- a VOIP service and when tried to make calls, it behaved similar to above.
Previously, I had an Android device and when I tried to make same International mobile calls now in it, I am able to connect and talk without any issues. I also chatted with an Skype support team and they also couldn't help much. They said that I am reporting such type of issue for first time and told that one of their tech specialist will get in touch with me once they have completely assessed the issue. I haven't gt any response though.
Is anyone else facing issues with VOIP apps in Lumia Icon?
Also, are there any fix for these issues?
    Thanks

Thanks for posting your concern, Win_Phone. Do you have a stable internet connection when trying to make a call? Have you tried accessing any website using the phone's browser to verify the stability of the connection? Have you also tried connecting to another available Wi-Fi network to check if there's any difference? About the audio, does it happen as well if there's a headphone connected to your phone? BTW, do you also have an issue when you are not using the Skype app?
We'll wait for your response so we can help you further.

  • E52 - Advanced VoIP settings 3.x v2 - VoIP service...

E52 - Advanced VoIP settings 3.x v2 - VoIP service profile settinsg unavailable
    Hello,
I have Nokia E52 with firmware 091.003, with installed VoIP advanced settings 3.x version  2.0.
My problem is that I have unavailable Profile settings in VoIP services menu ( with SIP profile defined)
to set WMCMDA(?)  ON to use 3G.
Factory reset of settings neither reflashing of FW by Nokia OVI suite did not help.
My previous E52 ( stolen from me ) with FW 07x.nnn or older had  it available......
Do anybody know, or has clue, about the reason and solution ?
I use Nimbuzz 3rd party VoIP, that works great on wifi/ 3g and even Edge,
but for some reasons is cancelling voice after 65 s of the call....
    Poutnik

BTW, I would not believe how deletion of extra VoIP service can ruin Nokia Connection destination/target (?) groups, so Nokia is not easily able to access internet.
E.g. Opera mini, instead of list of variable APs starts t offer just
    System Default and
    Always ask,
but none of them is usafull, because even Always ask fails, never asking me....

  • Best VoIP service for N series.

Can all please share their experiences with free VoIP (SIP or Internet tel whatever you call).
I installed Gizmo recently. But then saw some videos about Truphone and the heard about Fring (dont know if it is for internet call or not).
Can you share which one you found the best? I live in USA and trying to use this feature to save money.
    Thanks
    Nokia N97 NAM

I don't work for Truphone and have spent the last few months reviewing
    Tivi
    Gizmo
    Truphone
    Fring
and one or two other hibrids
While all others are stand alone apps installed on your phone which integrate with the phone's TCP stack Truphone is the only trully integrated solution which works naturally with the phone. allow me to explain
We are fast entering a world of 'least cost routing' with phone calls. simply put your mobile will intellegently decide on the cheast and most desirable way to connect a call!
In this respect the truphone architecture which in all intense and purposes is simply a configuration wizard on your mobile but clever routing on their network between your SIP number and your GSM number is the closest at achieveing this! It's simple but extremly impressive stuff when you get your head around it!
That said other standalone apps while occupying more memory sapce on your phone (which non of us really like) offer additional usefull services such as Video calling and chat messaging.
As ever the Tru annser (pardon the pun) depends on your requirements
Tivi is a stable app which support voice and video and chat using standard SIP protodol
if you are an MSN or Skype user us may be tempted to go for Fring.
My personal advice is keep it simple and get use to the Truphone solution!

  • Albums On External Hosting Service Advice

I am a little confused here. Making my first iWeb site. I would like to publish to a hosting service other than .Mac In iWeb help it specifies things that will not work outside .Mac:
    Password protection
    Blog and photo comments
    Blog search
    Hit counter
    Enhanced slideshows
None of these worry me except the slideshow issue although I can do without a slideshow so long as the album pages still appear.
I set up a gallery page from 4 albums located in iPhoto by drag and drop the album across. In the unpublished template page the photos appear to all be there in iWeb
Are those photos/albums still visible when the site is published to a place outside .Mac? The list of things that won't work include "enhanced slideshows" - Does this mean there are standard slideshows that do work? If not is there a workaround to make the albums visible/working?

So "enhanced albums" are a mystery. I can find no reference to them in Help or tutorials beyond that one item listing things that do not work outside .Mac.
What I am concerned about is that hosting at a service other than .Mac that there will be any problems with the albums other than as well as including slideshows?
I have found conflicting comments, some that suggest problems, while the Apple Help would seem to imply that there is a problem with slideshows. I would appreciate advice from someone who has iWeb made sites hosted outside .Mac

  • Best contacts at Adobe professional services/advice for Flex/AS3 job boards without agencies.

I've got a couple of questions I'd appreciate some advice on:
    1) I'd love to work with Adobe as part of their professional services arm, but attempts to get to account managers or the right h/r individuals with a view on upcoming projects that require staffing has proven elusive. Does anyone know a good contact here in the UK. My attempts to telephone Adobe directly have fizzled out. I never seem to be put through to the right contact.
    2) Alternatively. I'd rather deal directly with companies and not have to go through agencies. Are there dedicated Flex job boards that cater to the UK marketplace - or that have the ability to filter by geographic radius that anyone can recommend?

    hey, I'm not jocking.
and please let me download an AIR socket network app able to work for days on my computers without any interruption. may I have a look to Adobe Unicom?

So if anybody has any ideas, documents, tutorials, examples that will help I will be most grateful.

    Hi Phil,
There are many examples around the forum.
One, with links to some other examples is:

  • RV110W issues with VOIP service

    Hi
I'm new to the forum and tearing my hair out here. We have an RV110W with a mix of computers and VOIP handsets.
Strange thing is that after 16 minutes of a VOIP call, the port seems to get swapped and the call hangs.
The VOIP provider, who is pretty worthless by the way - don't use Vivo Telecommunications - has decided that the problem resides at the firewall, They say:
The port swapping will be caused by the firewall, there are 1 of 2 causes: SIP Awareness; there are several things that can affect this most firewalls have SIP Alg but it can be disabled, also the NAT refresh time needs to be set correctly.
They have suggested some commands to apply -
Cisco PIX firewall – run the command “no fixup protocol sip 5060”
Cisco ASA 7.2+ – run the command “no inspect sip”
Has anyone else seen this issue?
If so and you think these commands might work, can someone point me to the correct way to do that? I am really only used to dealing with the web-based UI to configure the firewall.
    Thanks
    Stephen

    Stephen
The router has no settings for that. Make sure you have the latest firmware installed, there may have been an issue with the older firmware(s).
If the router is causing the issue then it has a bug. If you have another router, try it and see if you get the same result. If not, connect a VoIP handset directly to the ISP and make a call. If it breaks after 16 minutes, you know that the issue is with the ISP or VoIP provider, not the router. Another option is to disconnect everything from the RV110W (for security) except for a VoIP handset. Turn the firewall off on the router and try a call.
If you find that the problem is in fact caused by the RV110W, please open a case:

  • BEFW11S4 V2 & voip service

I don't know if this is the right forum for this question, but I have the BEFW11S4 V2 router behind a linksys cable modem. I just lost my voip provider, Sun Rocket, and have switched (am attempting to switch) to VOIP.com. It seems as if the Linksys router is blocking the incoming calls. I can call out okay, but nobody can call in.
I am addressing this issue in a parallel fashions, the router and the voip company. The voip company suggests a RJ45 ethernet splitter between the cable modem and the router, one side to the router, one side to the voip adapter. I don't believe a digital signal can be split, so this solution won't work, unless I am wrong. I always thought that the router itself was a "digital splitter" of sorts.
Is there any reason that the Linksys router would be blocking incoming calls through Voip.com, and, if so, how can this be corrected? Thanks for your help. wd0d

one way audio is usually caused by firewall blocking the ports being used by the ATA...forward the UDP ports that is on the link below:
