E61 and WLAN with Bthomehub

Can any please help me as I am close to eaking point. I have been trying without success to connect my e61 to the Bthome hub. The phone finds the hub and I go through the instructions but it will not connect. The phone is locked to Orange. If anyone has got any information I would be extremeley grateful.
I am probrably missing something somewhere, but what it is i just have no idea.

Thanks for the info but it did not work, but I have now resolved this issue and now wish to let others know how easy it was.
What you need to do is to remove the SERVICE PROVIDERS internet connection (in my case Orange Internet) as the phone uses this as the default setting and always will, so know matter how many times you enter the WLAN settings it will never work.
Make sure you use this connection before you do anything else. To connect use the WEB icon on the main display and set the WLAN as default.
You can then reinstall the SERVICE PROVIDERS internet and this will be used as a secondary connection allowing the WLAN to be set as the default conection.
I hope this helps someone who has had the same mind bending problems as me

Nokia, why are you try to make our life a misery? you promise the update will benefit us and see what happened!! Anyone Please help.

    I had a similar problem.
I still own an E61 and had a problem as it became "crazy"  with all the lists being scrolled out (wherever I am ) continuously without beign able to stop it or to control anything!
So what I have done is reinstalled the frmware .
Since then I am not able to use my WLAN at all. No matter what I do I receive immediately "connection not available".
in the connection the existing Wifi spots are being seen but I am not able at all to even let the WLAN scan for existing Wifi or try to connect. The message is received immediately as I press the button!

  • Satellite L500 and issues with wireless connection

    Hello people
Ill just throw my problem out there.
First of all my details and info which may help you help me!
Satellite L500 running windows 7 (note: same issues when Vista was installed)
Latest wireless drivers as well as latest drivers for everything else.
My wireless router is a billion voip enabled router 7000 series its quite a good one for when I got it about 2 yrs ago and works fine.
Basically the problem is the wireless on my Satellite L500 keeps dropping out. Im no more than 20m away at most, right now Im 10m away with 1 wall in the way. I tried to get to a website and it says connection dropped out or unable to find host.
However the other laptops in the same room same spot at the same time has no issues at all. Never has.
As soon as I go into the same room as my router it works again. Sometimes works if I just stand on the opposite wall.
So basically Im thinking my wireless card in my laptop is either faulty or just no good?
Can u replace the wireless card with a different one? Maybe the Toshiba ones are just no good? Ive read so many problems with these wireless cards in Toshibas...
Anyone have any ideas? Have I missed any info u need? Ill repost again in a day or so with the types of wireless devices in each laptop.

    Hi
At the moment I doubt that your WLAN card is faulty. Before you exchange it you should also update your BIOS and not only the WLAN card driver. Both updates you should download from the Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
I had a similar issue with my Toshiba notebook and WLAN connection. The problem was the WLAN power saving mode in Windows Power Management. There you can also choose a power saving mode for the WLAN card. Disable it and choose Maximum Performance.

  • Canon 860 Series (Pixma) Printer Problems with OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – links to Canon Support Site with Drivers and Software with install tips

After spending several hours sorting out Canon Pixma OSX problems here are my thoughts:
Canon 860 Series (Pixma 868) Printer Problems with OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – links to Canon Support Site with Drivers and Software with install tips
    Problem:
    - New imac and MacBook Pro 2012 (OSX 10.8.2) had a problem using Canon Pixma 868 printer on network and would not scan or print using Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print), which has advanced scanning and photo printing functions.
    - When I connected the canon printer to my imac, OSX 10.8.2 automatically downloaded and installed drivers for Canon 860 series printer. I could then add the new printer (select ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”) and printer would work while connected via USB but could not get to print or scan over network wifi.
    - The original Canon 860 Series CD does not work with 10.8 and the manual / online instructions did not make sense (as based on CD install).
    Solution:
    1) Install Canon Printer Drivers and Software (from official Canon site)
Go to canon support site, review FAQ, then download and install following Pixma 860 Series software & drivers for OSX 10.8 (links see below). The version I downloaded is in brackets but check for updated version. Full instructions are below.
Canon 860 Series Drivers & Software  for OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion:
The base software and drivers needed for using Canon 860 Series on Mac OS X 10.8 (USB) are
    1 Printer Driver
(Canon MX860 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 10.67.1.0 (03-Aug-2012))
    2 Scanner Driver
(Canon MX860 series Scanner Driver Ver. 14.11.4a (03-Aug-2012))
    3 Network Tool
(Canon IJ Network Tool Ver. 4.1.0 for Intel Mac (27-Dec-2012)
Canon Software for using advanced printing and scanning functions (while connected to network)
    4 Solution Menu
    (Canon Solution Menu Ver. 1.4.1 (27-Jul-2012 ))
    5 MP Navigator EX
(Canon MP Nav EX Ver. 2.1.3 (02-Auf-2012))
    6 Easy-PhotoPrint EX
    (Canon Easy-PhotoPrint EX Ver. 4.1.6 (21-Jan-2013 ))
Canon Support (HK) – check your local site
    http://www.canon.com.hk/en/download/main/index.do
Select Product and drivers from support site eg http://support-hk.canon-asia.com/
    1. Choose a product category
    Multifunctional Printers
    2. Choose a product series
      Pixma
    3. Choose a product model
      Pixma MX868
    4. Choose type of document
    Downloads or FAQ
If you have problems installing the software under 10.8, see the FAQ on Canon site. You will need to allow software installs from “unidentified developers by using “Control” Key or by changing your system preferences)
    2) Check Canon Printer and Software Working while connected via USB
Once you have downloaded and installed drivers and software and restarted computer, check that the printer and Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print) are working via USB.  Open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App) and make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it shows the correct SSID Wifi settings (under the Canon IJ Network Tool App ‘Setup menu’).  This is normally done as part of the automatic install but worth double checking
    3) Add new network printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”).
After you have checked USB printing turn off printer, unplug the USB cable and shutdown the Canon IJ Network Tool App.
Then turn the printer back on and wait 30s. Then add a new printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”). Once you select “+” (add new printer), wait 10-30s for the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer to appear in the new window eg Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) (Kind: “Canon IJ Network”)
DO NOT ADD THE MX 860 SERIES BONJOUR SCANNER (the Bonjour Scanner is the built-in software, is not needed and often appears first on the add printer list).  The Canon scanner can be accessed used through the MP Nav EX Ver. 2.1.3 software (which has much better functions)
You will now have two Printer Canon MX860 (USB) and Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network). Set the Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network) as default and test print and scan
If the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer does not appear, check the printer and make sure that the printer can see the wifi network. On the printer select Menu / Settings / Device Settings / Lan Settings / WLAN Setting List.  It should say WLAN Active, identify the SSID and have an IP address
If the printer can not see the Wifi Network, plug the USB cable back in, then open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App). Make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it has your SSID settings (under setup), if it has this info, restart the computer and the printer and try again

Hi, thaks for response, meant to post as a discussion (not question), wanted to save others time if they get the same problem

  • Basic features missing in E61 (and other Nokias) v...

I've been using Nokia Smartphone since quite a number of years now, and I'm still estonished about all the excitement that any release of a new models is generating, because basically : nothing is changing. OK, better integrated cameras. OK, integrated Wifi... But come on, let's be honnest, it's time for a revolution. I'm getting really tired of Symbian S60's interface...
Anyhow, I had lately a Nokia E61, and finally sold it away. Why ?
    1) Mail application is not able to correctly format a HTML mail. And let's face it, we receive less and less "pure ascii text" messages. Time for an evolution. Some might say : go for Profimail on S60. OK, fine, but then how to I use BlackBerry Connect or Mail for Exchange ???
    2) Basic calendar : after so many years, the calendar application also did not evolve. For a phone that claims to be a business phone (E61), the notion of meeting is still ignored by Nokia. And yes, I want and need to know when looking at my agenda who invited me for a meeting and who are the other invitees, and this is not possible with Nokia. And still on the agenda topic, whether using Blakberry connect or Mail for Exchange, it is not possible to receive meeting invitations and accept/decline them, nor is it possible to create new meetings and invite people. For this I need to go back to my PC = E61 will never be *my* business phone.
Come on, wake up Nokia : time for innovation !!!

    this may help..

  • Ask the Expert: ISE 1.2: Configuration and Deployment with Cisco expert Craig Hyps

Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation. This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions about how to deploy and configure Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) Version 1.2 and to understand the features and enhanced troubleshooting options available in this version, with Cisco expert Craig Hyps.
    October 27, 2014 through November 7, 2014.
The Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) helps IT professionals meet enterprise mobility challenges and secure the evolving network across the entire attack continuum. Cisco ISE is a security policy management platform that identifies users and devices using RADIUS, 802.1X, MAB, and Web Authentication methods and automates secure access controls such as ACLs, VLAN assignment, and Security Group Tags (SGTs) to enforce role-based access to networks and network resources. Cisco ISE delivers superior user and device visibility through profiling, posture and mobile device management (MDM) compliance validation, and it shares vital contextual data with integrated ecosystem partner solutions using Cisco Platform Exchange Grid (pxGrid) technology to accelerate the identification, mitigation, and remediation of threats.
Craig Hyps is a senior Technical Marketing Engineer for Cisco's Security Business Group with over 25 years networking and security experience. Craig is defining Cisco's next generation Identity Services Engine, ISE, and concurrently serves as the Product Owner for ISE Performance and Scale focused on the requirements of the largest ISE deployments.

    1. Without more specifics it is hard to determine actual issue. It may be possible that if configured in same subnet that asymmetric traffic caused connections to fail. A key enhancement in ISE 1.3 is to make sure traffic received on a given interface is sent out same interface.
    2. Common use cases for using different interfaces include separation of management traffic from user traffic such as web portal access or to support dedicated profiling interfaces. For example, you may want employees to use a different interface for sponsor portal access. For profiling, you may want to use a specific interface for HTTP SPAN traffic or possibly configure IP Anycast to simplify reception and redundancy of DHCP IP Helper traffic. Another use case is simple NIC redundancy.
    a. Management traffic is restricted to eth0, but standalone node will also have PSN persona so above use cases can apply for interfaces eth1-eth3.
    b. For dedicated PAN / MnT nodes it usually does not make sense to configure multiple interfaces although ISE 1.3 does add support for SNMP on multiple interfaces if needed to separate out. It may also be possible to support NIC redundancy but I need to do some more testing to verify.
For PSNs, NIC redundancy for RADIUS as well as the other use cases for separate profiling and portal services apply.
Regarding Supplicant Provisioning issue, the flows are the same whether wireless or wired. The same identity stores are supported as well. The key difference is that wireless users are directed to a specific auth method based on WLAN configuration and Cisco wired switches allow multiple auth methods to be supported on same port.
If RADIUS Proxy is required to forward requests to a foreign RADIUS server, then decision must be made based on basic RADIUS attributes or things like NDG. ISE does not terminate the authentication requests and that is handled by foreign server. ISE does support advanced relay functions such as attribute manipulation, but recommend review with requirements with local Cisco or partner security SE if trying to implement provisioning for users authenticated via proxy. Proxy is handled at Authentication Policy level. CWA and Guest Flow is handled in Authorization Policy.  If need to authenticate a CWA user via external RADIUS, then need to use RADIUS Token Server, not RADIUS Proxy.
A typical flow for a wired user without 802.1X configured would be to hit default policy for CWA.  Based on successful CWA auth, CoA is triggered and user can then match a policy rule based on guest flow and CWA user identity (AD or non-AD) and returned an authorization for NSP.
    Regarding AD multi-domain support...
Under ISE 1.2, if need to authenticate users across different forests or domains, then mutual trusts must exist, or you can use multiple LDAP server definitions if the EAP protocol supports LDAP. RADIUS Proxy is another option  to have some users authenticated to different AD domains via foreign RADIUS server.
Under ISE 1.3, we have completely re-architected our AD connector and support multiple AD Forests and Domains with or without mutual trusts.
When you mention the use of RADIUS proxy, it is not clear whether you are referring to ISE as the proxy or another RADIUS server proxying to ISE.  If you had multiple ISE deployments, then a separate RADIUS Server like ACS could proxy requests to different ISE 1.2 deployments, each with their own separate AD domain connection.  If ISE is the proxy, then you could have some requests being authenticated against locally joined AD domain while others are sent to a foreign RADIUS server which may have one or more AD domain connections.
In summary, if the key requirement is ability to join multiple AD domains without mutual trust, then very likely ISE 1.3 is the solution.  Your configuration seems to be a bit involved and I do not want to provide design guidance on a paper napkin, so recommend consult with local ATP Security SE to review overall requirements, topology, AD structure, and RADIUS servers that require integration.

    Craig

guys guys guys i'm having a wiered problem with this rubish E72
well every time i check my log i find that my phone has used packet data connections and wlan connections for small time intervals and small periods while i haven't used the internet for a long time btw i always make sure to exit all app and also make sure to disconnect my email before exiting so packet data signals and wlan signal are not (on)
so that means that the phone just uses internet by it's own self also notice that the time that the phone used the internet was during my sleep time
but it's so weired it has used the packet data for 30 seconds and the wlan fo 1.5 mins by it self ..............is this a virus or that ugly firmware is just full of **bleep**
please check your phones (log) and reply me back

  • ISE and Selfservice with single SSID

    Hi, i have:
WLAN 2504 Controller with 7.2 Software
    ISE 1.1.2
A single SSID with 802.1x Authentication
Today the wireless users are authenticated against an cisco acs. I want to switch to the ISE and make use of the mydevices portal. I want to re-use my single SSID and don't want to make any provisioning.
    - The user connects to the single SSID
    - The user configures peap authentication on his device
    - The user authenticates to a ldap directory with username and password
    - After successfull authentication the user will be redirected to the mydevices portal
    - he logs in with his ldap credentials
    - the mac address of his current device is listed in the mydevice portal
    - user adds his device to the known devices list
    - manual reconnect to my ssid
Is this possible with ISE? Is there a howto out there with exact this scenario?
    Kind regards

    Hello Andreas,
WLC 2504 supports CWA, CoA & dACL.
This wireless controller also supports MAC filtering with RADIUS lookup. For WLCs that support version 7.2.103.0, there is support for session ID and COA with MAC filtering so it is more MAB-like. So it should fulfill your requirement and you can use single SSID.

  • What can I Sync using my Nokia e61 and Isync

    Hi there
Can I only sync contacts and Ical?
I wanted to load some music and some pdf's onto the phone can I do this via the mac, or do I have to use the nokia cable and a PC?
New to the E61 so keen to review what can be done with it and what cant - but dont really want to buy any 3rd party sync tools

Thanks for the clarification; since posting this question I have located a BETA program from Nokia called Nokia Multimedia Transfer
I have used this to transfer music onto the Nokia E61, and enabled that to be used as my ring tone
It seems okay and havent found any issues with it, but being a BETA it is always wise to air caution

  • Simultaneous usage of LAN and WLAN

    Hi,
I have a T61 running win2k.  The WLAN is managed by Intel Proset wireless.  I have been having problems running the LAN and WLAN simultaneously.  The WLAN connection drops off immediately if my LAN gets connected.  I have to disable/disconnect the LAN to make the WLAN work again.  I have observed this problem with a few other T61 laptops at my office.  Is this a known issue ?  What is the resolution ?  Thanks.

Mine R61i with Vista can do that, but i can't seem to get it working in dual mode when using XP pro.

  • Guest LAN and WLAN on Controller

    Hi,
While creating new ssid, i can see the option guest lan and wlan, whats the difference? which one is preffered?
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi,
I remember answering this few days and also George joined the thread.. or max week back..
    Guest LAN WLAN =
1> The clients connecting to the WLAN will have a time limit on the connectivity, for example you can configure the Guest WLAN for 24 hours or something which you want..
2> I guess George pointed this in the previous thread.. Can be used for Wired Guest Users configuration as well , here is the link..
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk722/tk809/technologies_configuration_example09186a008070ba8f.shtml
    WLAN =
Just nothing but a SSID with security which doesnt have any time limit.
    which one is preffered? =
Its your network and what ever meets your requirements you can use that.. however both of them does its job with different features involved.
lemme know if this answered your question..

  • No auto-connect to WLAN with hidden SSID

I work in Infrastructure Services at the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory.
Across IBM, there is a standard setup for wireless LAN access. There’s a public WLAN that provides access only to the internet; and there’s a private WLAN that provides access to both the internet and the corporate intranet. The private WLAN requires authentication via WPA/WPA2 Enterprise using LEAP or a certificate, and has a hidden SSID.
Both WLANs are served by the same access points.
The iPhone and iPod Touch do not automatically reconnect to the private WLAN with the hidden SSID.
Each time the iPhone wakes from sleep, the user must connect manually to the private WLAN. The user must go into Settings and then Wi-Fi, wait for the private WLAN to appear in the list (there’s always a delay) and then tap on it. Also, if one opens Mail or Safari application before connecting manually, the the blue pop-up list of available networks will not include the private WLAN with the hidden SSID.
This is a major inconvenience, because it adds half a minute or more to each operation that requires network access. Checking one’s email—something that should normally take no more than ten seconds—instead takes a minute or more, depending on how quickly one manages to connect.
This bug also results in needless expense, because network operations that should go over the local WLAN often go instead over the mobile phone network.
The inability of the iPhone/iPod Touch to reconnect automatically to networks with hidden SSID has been a problem since the original iPhone came out.
This problem is an obstacle preventing wider adoption of the iPhone within IBM.

Anyone have an update on this ?
    I have a new 3GS with 3.1.2 and have the same issue. I haven't tried the factory reset yet, but from this link;
    http://l00pback.wordpress.com/2009/10/14/iphone-3-1-bug-no-auto-reconnect-to-hid den-ssid-wireless-networks/
“Work around”: Not really a workaround, but a sightly less frustrating way of reconnecting… when in range of the network… recreate the network by entering the SSID and leave out any of the security stuff then click Join. The join will fail (for obvious reasons), but will then “remind” the phone that that network exists and will then connect using the previously configured settings."
takes some of the pain away.

  • Did Nokia pull E61 and E60 firmware 2.0.x as they ...

    Hello Guys,
I just bought new E61 a while ago, and I went ahead to update it's firmware.
Then the NSU says no new software for your phone, while currently it has version 1.0.x not 2.0.x
    So anyone could confirm this?
Maybe they pulled the E61 as they did for E70, I even couldn't update my father E60 device.

  • Satellite L300-145 (PSLB0E) - graphic card, LAN and WLan missing

    Hi,
I've recently reinstalled windows Vista Home Premium but now I have some drivers missing.
The graphic card and both Lan and WLan are missing.
I've download and installed both Lan and graphic card controllers but i can't find the right WLan.
The problem is that, the USB Wlan card is not reconnized and is showing as "Unkown Device".
I looked under the properties inspector and i found that product id shows 2 values: USB\VID_0BdA%PID_8197&REV_0200 and USB\VID_0BA&PID_8197 and is found at Port_#0006Hub_#0007 also, under name of fisical object i find it to be \Device\USBPDO-9.
I'm not totally sure that this is the Wlan card but since is the only thing that's working correctly i figure that's it. I've tried intel, antheros and realtek drivers, allways reinstalling the previous one so no conflicts would happen, but still nothing happens and windows still doesen't reconnize itm so
Please, what's the card name and where can I find the RIGHT controller for it?

    Hi
First of all you really get all drivers for your notebook on the Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
The drivers are pretested so I can not imagine that none of them are working.
On this website http://www.pcidatabase.com I have searched for this vendor ID but I cant find anything. Only with the device ID 8197 it shows a Realtek WLAN card so I suppose you have to use this driver.
Please check it again!!! Make sure that you have installed SP2 at least and before you install the WLAN driver again, remove all other versions and clean the system using CCleaner.
