E61 DTMF Problem

I am not sure if thi is the correct section to log thisin, but bare with me if it is not.
I am having problems using DTMF with my E61 when I am on voip/internet calls. The calls work well, but I am not able to get any DTMF either by directly pressing the keypad or using the DTMF menu option during an internet call.
Can someone please confirm this?

Same issue for me and Nokia N95 (SW 31.0.0.17) !
With N95 I am dialing an internet (voip) telephone call through a VoIP service provider to a Linksys Cisco SPA-3102 telephone adapter ATA. DTMF tones are not received correctly by the ATA.
With counterpath X-Lite voip software for PC using same VoIP provider, DTMF works no problem - the DTMF tones are received correctly.
I have tried Nokia VoIP SIS software settings tool, and changed settings in different combinations: DTMF inband and DTMF outband and Codecs. Does not help.
I have tried several VoIP providers: Gizmo, CallCentric, Pfingo, SunPage. N95 DTMF tones do not work with any of them.
=> because DTMF tones work with X-Lite voip call client (but not with Nokia N95 internet telephone calls) I assume the Nokia N95 implementation does not work. A fix would be very welcome.

E61 DTMF Tones Too long

I have a Linksys SPA 3102 as a Voip to PSTN gateway, this works great using other phones but not with my E61.
The problem seems to be that the DTMF tones are to long, when I send 1234, the SPA 3102 receives 111222333444!!!
Is there anyway to adjust the timing of E61 DTMF codes?

I found another solution (thanks to hwittenb at Voxilla forum) which avoids me having to use DTMF to inititiate voip-to-pstn calls from Nokia phone to SPA3102. It's called a request uri and is described in the ATA admin guide section "How VoIP-To-PSTN Calls Work". It's a bit complicated to set up initially, but works in my setup....
Router set-up:
1. my SPA3102 is connected to Linksys router model WRT54GC set up with a dynamic dns (dyndns.org) address, so that I can always make direct IP calls to the SPA3102 even if my ISP changes my internet address
2. Router port forwarding is set to forward SIP UDP and RTP TCP ports to SPA3102. Check which are the correct port numbers to forward in SIP tab on the SPA3102
SPA3102 set-up
1.      LINE TAB: IP dialling is enabled (yes). Not sure if this is needed or not....
2.      SIP TAB: Note: I have not bothered with STUN server and the other settings for inbound IP dialling found in guides on the internet. This probably works because of Gizmo or Pfingo being used as the PSTN voip account.... e.g.: in the SIP tab, the NAT Support Parameters are factory defaults e.g.: all set to no
3.       PSTN TAB: settings:
I use two accounts with the same service provider (either Pfingo or Gizmo) - one on the Nokia client, the other as the PSTN account in my SPA3102

To dial a pstn number from Nokia client via voip-to-pstn through SPA3102:
1. store the phone number (pstn compatible format) you wish to dial into an internet telephone field, or SIP field, in a Nokia phonebook contact
<phone-number>@<dynamic-dns-address-for-router>:5061
2. with your Nokia voip account registered, then dial the contact sip uri address
When I dial, the voip call from Nokia client to SPA3102 is set up, the pstn FXO port is opened and the <phone-number> is dialled through the PSTN.... DTMF tones in call work fine with the established call. Good news!
Note: if PSTN line is already busy the call will not complete. Also my dial plan in the PSTN tab is actually a bit more complex than shown above to prevent IDD calls and premium rate numbers, again the call will not complete.

E61 email problems (IMAP)

Hello!
I recently started to use E61's in work and there are several problems with E-mail.
We have company Lotus Domino server (6.5.3) and I want to use E61 for users on trips to have access to the E-mails. I configured 3x E61 for start to check how it works and met serious problems with E-mail.
- 3x E61 configured and working flowlessly
- 2 days later E61#1 one of them stopped to synchronize E-mails (not recieving headers) - strange is that in the server log I can see that device is connected - but no getting any updates... after I got the device in my hand I was only able to say that everything is OK - no settings changed or wrong.... but it is not working..... when I created new email box with SAME settings - it is working without problems .... for 3 days then same symptoms again
- at the same day in E61#2 (actually the one Iam using) defined E-mail box disapeared - in very strange way:
mail box is working (recieving) and is accesable via E-mail key,and via main active screen BUT disapeared under messaging - so it is impossible to chance any settings...
- today I got message from owner of the E61#3 whom is currently in USA that it is not downloading E-mails (and in server log I can see his connections) - so it seems to be same issue as #1 ....
Can someone help me with this?
Also for some weird reason - I cannot subscribe to any different folder then Inbox .... (but it is minor problem comparesd to abovesaid)

E61 Adobe problem...

Would be VERY grateful if anyone can help...
Have just purchased a new E61 and cannot get Adobe to work. I have installed it succesfully and even re-downloaded it from the Nokia website to make sure I have the most up to date version. But this has yeilded no success.
Every time I open a PDF Adobe starts up, I get the reader display but all the pages are blank, just with the odd black lin (say where a footer or header should be) but never any text or images.
Anyone got any ideas? Without Adobe this phone is pretty useless to me and I will go back to my 9300...

Hi again, I've hard reset my e61 and then i've reinstalled a couple of apps and the problem still happen. Is there any tool to check wich process is consuming the memory ?
I have a 2gb memory card and everything gets stored there, so Im not using my phone memory at all. In fact, just after the reboot the free phone memory is 61mb.
the following is the list of apps installed:
- m-sync (push mail client)
- DivX Player
- Zip Manager
- Adobe PDF
- S-tris 2 (a game)
- Slick (IM client)

E61 Rebooting Problem

Hey everyone, assistance is needed!
I bought an E61 a while ago and it worked fine up until about 3 days ago. I was on the plane and turned it to Offline mode and when i landed and tried to connect to my GSM Carrier, nothing. Then about 10 seconds after that it rebooted and once it started up it restarted again. It went into a continuous loop.
I have restored my phone to Factory Defaults using the *#7370# and still didnt work.
What's going on? I'm living in Canada and call Nokia and they told me as they dont sell this phone in Canada they can't help me!

E61 Bluetooth problem

Hi Guys,
Received my E61 this morning. Fantastic device Everything was setup and running and the final thing was to link the phone to the bluetooth gps receiver.
That's when the problems started. No matter what I try I cannot get the E61 to detect any bluetooth devices. I have tried picking up my laptop as well as the gps receiver - no joy. My laptop detects the GPS receiver but cannot find my phone.
Nokia say that this is a faulty phone but I thought I would ask here to see if anyone else has had this problem.
The bluetooth settings are:
Bluetooth: On
Visibility: Shown to all
Sim mode: off

Just to let you know that my laptop is using the Toshiba v4 bluetooth drivers as listed in Karims post:

E61 Keyboard Problem

I got a E61 recently but I am having some keyboard problems. For example, when I type in '?' plus blue key, I get '='. If I type in blue plus '=', I get '+'.
This must be a keyboard mapping problem. Can anyone help me fix this?

I tried all the non-numeric keys with the blue key.
The results were;

E61 memory problem

Hi,
I'm facing a problem with my e61.
No apps are running, and phone memory is very low :
Memory in use : 64MB
Free memory : 1364kb
Calendar : 93kb
Contacts : 125kb
Messages : 188kb
Images: 0
Sound : 0
Video : 0
Documents : 2kb
Applications : 567 kb
Where are the 60 other Mb gone ?
Can I use a util to flush it.
I had the phone fw updated (from v. 2 to latest fw), and the problem reproduced as soon as a day after I restored the backup I had on the SD card.
Can anyone help, as the phone is constantly producing error messages ?

E61 WLAN problem

I still own an E61 and had a problem as it became "crazy" with all the lists being scrolled out (wherever I am ) continuously without beign able to stop it or to control anything!
So what I have done is reinstalled the frmware .
Since then I am not able to use my WLAN at all. No matter what I do I receive immediately "connection not available".
in the connection the existing Wifi spots are being seen but I am not able at all to even let the WLAN scan for existing Wifi or try to connect. The message is received immediately as I press the button!

I have a different problem, but I think it's just the phone as I read on different sites.
How can I turn wlan off ? Is it on all the time ? My settings for connection > wlan are Show availability - Yes, Scan for networks - Every 10 minutes. Does that mean every 10 minutes the wlan goes on then off ? It's weird, and power consuming I think.
Will a software update help ?

Just found the answer to your zoom problems. Use blue shift (bottom left on keyboard) and then the phone will zoom in and out just fine.

Exchnage 2010 UM DTMF Problem

Hi All,
We are having a very strange problem. After we completed the upgrade from Lync 2010 to Lync 2013 we started having a very strange with Exchange UM. When a users sends a DTMF request in the Automated Attendant it picks it up and sends it multiple times such
that the UM automatically and sends the same DTMF a second time.
More specifically we have 3 Automated Attendants in Exchange 2010.
First Attendant pickups up the call with a prompt for language 1 press 1 for language 2 press 2.
When you press 1 it goes to attendant language 1 and when you press 2 it goes to attendant language 2.
When you press 1 it goes to language attendant 1 but as soon as it goes to attendant language 1 it also goes to the option 1 of language attendant 1. When you press 2 it goes to language attendant 2 but as soon as it goes to attendant language 2
it also goes to the option 2 of language attendant 2.
Hope the above was not too confusing and you were able to follow it through and provide some help, we are at a complete loss here as this started happening all of a sudden.

Skype connect 3cx phonesystem - dtmf problem

Dear community members,
i've run into a brick wall. im using 3cx phonesystem, with skype connect mapped on a single channel. My problem is on dialing the skype in number 3cx phone system detects the call and forwards to the one of the extensions, but the problem is the dtmf doesnt gets transmitted, im using an ivr application and the same application is working fine if the call is forwarded from an isdn gateway.
As per the technical details, i think that skype connects forwards dtmf tones in the standard rfc format.
Please help as this is a urgent matter for us and we need to get it working.
P.S. : My server hardware doesnt have a sound card installed.

I am sorry to say I have no answer for you, but it sounds like you are further than I am in the 3cx configuration. Would you mind posting some of the steps you had to do to get 3cx to receive calls from Skype? I

SPA112 Outbound DTMF Problem

I am having trouble getting the SPA112 to recognize DTMF tones from my phone in AVT mode. Using InBand mode DTMF works for the most part, but there are some IVRs that don't seem to like the audio DTMF either. Currently my phone plays DTMF tones for 80 ms, increasing that value to 120 ms resolves the issue that I am having, but I don't have time to make that change and I'm hoping to find an ATA configuration fix to my problem. I have tried several other ATAs, none of which seem to have any problem with the DTMF tones at 80 ms. Why is the SPA112 different, are there any other settings I can tweak to make this work?

Updating firmware to 1.3.1 or higher will fix DTMF issues,

DTMF Problem Noted 7945G on Speaker

I had an intermittent problem reported from our Operations Center. When they call a particular IVR at one of our providers the DTMF entry for the pass code is often not recognized if the call was placed with speaker on. If the call is made instead with the hand set held to the head then it seems that the DTMF codes are more likely to be recognized and processed correctly. Is this a known issue? Any advice on how to go about trouble shooting something like this? Thank you.

It's not a known issue. Remember that while DTMF events are an out-of-band (or NTE) event on the VoIP side, once the PSTN turns the call into traditional TDM the DTMF events return to an in-band audio signal. At that point anything that can interfere with the call audio (e.g. voltage impeedence mismatch, incorrect input/output attenuation levels, excessive background noise, etc) will also impact the DTMF events.
It's probably a combination of factors such as background noise in the Ops Center as well as something on that particular far-end since this only happen to one dialed number.
Please remember to rate helpful responses and identify helpful or correct answers.

E61 WLAN Problems after update

I updated my firmware to version 2.0618.06.05 and since then I have had problems with WLAN connections for the browser. I can connect but if I try to use a hyperlink the application hangs. I have to go to connection manager and terminate the connection (disconnecting in the browser doesn't seem to do the trick)and then go back to the browser and use the link. This is tedious.
I too lost my contacts when I upgraded. Unfortunately I had not synched with Outlook so I lost two contacts completely.

Thanks. I'm using a 1st-gen Linksys WRT54G upgraded to the last firmware and a newer version of the WRT54G. No idea what firmware it's on though. I'm ready to destroy this phone. Nokia US and Nokia UK really are very short sighted. What's the point of getting a world phone if you can't get support in the country you are in.
Oh well ... time to look for a new "smartphone"
