E61 - select web icon & web already in use pops up

woke this morning and selected web icon and "web already in use" popped up. reconfigured settings from nokia settings page and no help. this is v2 firmware.

Thank you guys for trying to help.
I'm actualy already using Opera Mobile as my main web browser since the buil-in web browser is far too limited for my liking. But i'd still would like to be able to use Web for the cases when a page doesn't display properly in Opera. Web is also great to demo the E61 to other people, the mini-map and visual history are sure very impressive features to see.
To nj7: does restoring from the memory card really restores *everything*. That is not only the contacts and calendar data but also all the applications, all their settings and, well, everything else? I've read on several occasions that restoring from the memory card didn't restore some applications properly.
As for upgrading to the new firmware, i am unfortunately not willing to do it for several reasons:
- The nokia software updater tools tells me that there is no update available for my phone
- My local Nokia service center would take at least a week to update my phone (that's if they can do it, which is not even sure). As for most people, i can't live without my phone for a week.
- I haven't seen anything in the list of changes for the new firmware that solves any problem that i've had so i don't quite see the point of updating
- There is a major bug in the new firmware which prevents numeric shortcuts from working in many applications unless you press and hold the blue key. Opera Mobile is affected by this bug. Since i'm navigating in opera exclusively using the numeric shortcuts, upgrading to the new firmware would render Opera Mobile unusable for me. This is not an option. I browse the web extensively on my E61 and the built-in web browser simply isn't good enough for me (plus it doesn't even work anymore and i can't be sure that upgrading to the new firmware would solve the problem for good).
So if anybody has the magic trick to get Web to work again, i'd be most grateful to hear it (and i'll pay you a pint the next time you come round Ireland).

  • Im getting the message "The selected SAN location is already in use." This happens when I start up final cut pro 10. Anyone else have this problem before?

Hi everyone. I just today got the message "The selected SAN location is already in use." Has anyone recieved this message before? If so, how can I fix this?
    Thanks!

Welll I don't see fast how to edit my reply. (the projects and events on external drives show up, but there is a error when FCP-X started up with the message that the "home folder user" is in use
and can not be used by SAN becase of the same name????)
First I did use Preference Manager 3.2 to trash the preference but that did not solve my problem.
Then I repaired permissions. I did not solve the problem.
Waht solve dthe problem is next.
I started my MacBook Pro is safe mode (shift power on) Then I repaired permissions.
Then I copied the Final Cut Events en Projects folders from my home folder Movies to a external dive (in a folder so that with start up it did not show up in. (And trashed the project and event folder in my movies folder)
I restarted the Mac Removed again the Preference.
Then I restarted FCP-X and it started up without a problem.
Then I copied the content of my old folders to the new folders in my movies home folder. (not just the folders Final Cut Events/Projects)
    Now it is working correctly.

  • When i installed and launch Final cut pro 10.0.5. (trial version) The program write me: The selected SAN location is already in use. What I must to do. it started and will be ok?? Thanks

    Hi,
I have problem with installation Final cut pro x (trial version)
When I installed and launch, it write me this:
The selected SAN location is already in use. The storage location "RAAF" on this computer is already in use by "RAAF" on "Pavels-MacBook-Pro". To access the location, quit Final Cut Pro on "Pavels-MacBook-Pro" or remove the location.
    What I must do?
Thanks so much for you tips
    Paul

Try repairing permission in the Disk Utility and rebooting,

  • When I open FCPX, it tells me, "The selected SAN location is already in use," and then quits.

I use Final Cut Pro recreationally mostly, but I got hired for a project by chance.  I don't use any external hard drives, just my disk.  I have an Apple Time Capsule for backups.  Suddenly I got an error message when I open it "The selected SAN location is already in use."  The subscript reads, "The storage location "newtonfamily" on this computer is already in use by "newtonfamily" on "Newton-Familys-iMac". To access the location, quit Final Cut Pro on "/Users/newtonfamily/Movies/" or remove the location," and has only an okay button, which quits FCPX when you choose it.  None of my stuff loads in the project panel or event library.  What do I do to get it back.

Try repairing permission in the Disk Utility and rebooting,

  • Final Cut X read "The selected SAN location is already in use". Now will not even open. Any advice would be really grateful.

Initially while working on two projects I began to run out of disk space on the external hard drive. Soon I was given this message:"The selected SAN location is already in use" To try and remedy the situation I decided to move one project to another harddrive that I use for another project. Initially it then showed nothing(projects and events) on either harddrive after that. Now FCX won't even boot up at all. Please help. I'm approching deadlines on all of these projects.
    Thank you for any advise.

RE : "The selected SAN location is already in use"
I spent 2 hours with Apple technical support and  even did a remote session as they looked at my desk top live.
1st the bad news, there is no real solution nor is there an answer as to why this happens. The SAN is supposed to only work through fiber optics and is strictly designed for multiple users accessing the same drives … It should only be activated manually and only through fiber optics . No one at Apple could understand why this is happening, why did my thunderbolt disk appear to be on a SAN and unexplainably unable to be accessed by my computer because it was being accessed by my computer. A conundrum indeed
The semi good news is that I was able to open the original session eventually.
Here is the workaround… And it ain't pretty .
If you can access the disk on the desktop copy the whole content of the disk to another drive , this is because you will have to reformat the drive which is giving you the problems.
Format the original problematic drive and after you have cleared all of the user preferences for Final Cut X relaunch Final Cut.
Final Cut should now see the drive without any of the SAN issues.
Start a new event on the original reformatted drive and give it a somewhat generic name so as not to confuse it with the original event that went bad.
Reimport into this new fresh event all of the original media ( video/audio/graphic ) files and copy them to the reformatted drive.
Do not start a new project related to this new event
    Shutdown Final Cut X
Now go to the drive in which you have copied all of your original files and copy the original problematic Final Cut Projects folder right next to the Final Cut Events folder at the root level of the newly formatted drive.
The new drive should only have 2 folders in it now, one is the new Final Cut Events folder that you created by copying over all of original media  and the 2nd one should be the Final Cut Projects folder which you just copied back from the backup drive.
I only had to copy the one project which started giving me problems with the SAN issue, because it was the only FCX on my drive at the time therefore I kept intact the original Final Cut folder hierarchy, theoretically even if you have many different projects inside that Final Cut Projects folder it should work, but if that doesn't work try only copying the problematic Final Cut Project.
Start Final Cut again and it should read everything except that the media will be off-line ( unlinked ) and you should be able to re-link all of the media if the files had not change names somewhere along the process.
The one caveat about this is that my edits were off against the music. It almost seems like there was some kind of format issue. Something was lost in translation . My project was only 2 min. long and it had about 50 edits. The 1st three edits were completely off after that it was hard to tell ,some would be on some would be off.
Now I was going on about 2 hours of sleep so i am a bit blurry but what I am certain is that the 1st few edits were 100% off by at least 60 frames.
Again this may have just worked in my instance and it may not be applicable every time this problem pops up.
BTW whenever I connected an older drive everything worked fine there were no SAN issues.
I am on an iMac 27 inch mid 2011, 3.4 GHz Intel core i7 with 16 GB of RAM
running Mac OS X version 10.7.4
and Final Cut X 10.0.4 and
my drive is a Western Digital my book thunderbolt Duo 4 TB formatted in RAID 0
as a final note I tried everything I read on every forum before calling Apple.
    Hope this helps someone

  • Multiple LV instances, web server cannot start, port already in use

    Hi there,
I have a general question about webserving VIs in case either
    a) multiple instances of the LV development environment are running (this is possible in windows XP for instance when "switch users" is allowed and each user launches LV)
    b) multiple compiled LV executables are run by the same user
    c) any mixture of the two above
I have an application case when either of the three above would be a very good solution, was not for the problem encountered. Say, b): the user is given two deployed executables, and can decide to run either or both concurrently. Moreover, I want these applications to be visible on the web, so they are compiled with the webserver turned on, default settings.
The problem I've seen (LV8.5.1, winXp for sure, but I think I've seen it as well in linux and other versions as well) is that each new instance of the LV engine tries to get hold of the tcp port (default 80), so that all instances beyond the first complain about "The Web Server cannot start. Is the Web Server port already in use?"
While I can understand the origin of the message, and found some posts on the forums somehow related to it, I don't like it too much.
I could think only of two workarounds here: 1) set different web server ports for each LV instance, and instruct the remote users to direct their browsers to a webserverort link to access each VI; 2) run all the applications from the same instance of the LV dev system. The latter is not so convenient for me, due to conflicts in global VIs between all instances of the applications [compiling executables IS a way to privatize memory spaces in this case, AND global variables are imho well justified for the fairly complex application I have in mind here].
Is there a third, more elegant solution perhaps, which I'm missing?
    Thanks, Enrico

What is it in particular that you dislike about the message?
How would you like LabVIEW to behave in this case?
No problem with the message, but I'd just be very happy if a single
web server would serve all my instances of the executables on the same
port. I.e., if 2.exe is open and wants to start another server on the
same port used already by 1.exe, then 2.exe becomes served by the
server already opened. Am I demanding too much? Am I missing some
    necessary logic?
At the moment, anyway, I'm stuck with the vi being served correctly,
but not the compiled application, and I can't figure out why. It's
LV8.5.1, and yes, I have in the .ini

  • Similar icon already in use?

App was rejected due to icon being too similar to another app. Is there an easy way to check for icon designs already in use?  I am thinking it is best just to design another icon, resubmit, and hope it does not look like the icon of another registered app.

I suggest using Goggle's image search feature. That is about the best you can do. See if it finds your current icon. Otherwise, there is no way to search though all of the icons in the App Store.

  • E61 - Web already in use

    Hi,
I'm using a SIM-free Nokia E61 with the first firmware (v. 1.0610.04.04 / 19-04-06 / RM-89) and since yesterday I haven't been able to use Web anymore. Whenever i try to launch Web, i get a "Web: already in use" error message and Web doesn't launch. Rebooting and removing the memory card didn't help. It did work for sure the day before since i used it to demo the phone to one of my colleague (Web is great for quick demos of what the E61 is capable of).
I've had this phone for 2 months now and never any problems with Web before yesterday. Services works fine and so does Opera Mobile and every other application on the phone.
Apparently, other people have had this problem before and the only solution they've found was to do a hard reset. Problem is: reformating my phone is simply not an option. I've got dozens of programs, themes and files on my phone and spent hours (maybe even dozens of hours) configuring and customizing everything so that everything looks and behave in exactly the way i want to. There simply is no way i'm going to reinstall, reconfigure and recustomize everything just to get my phone to work as it should work.
So is there anything i could do to get Web back working again?
Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

  • Nokia N80 Web Browser: "Web already in use"?

Just got my nokia N80, connected to my WLAN perfectly, I managed to have a couple of hours browsing the internet using the Web browser found under "My Own", I wanted to see if msn Web Messenger would work, after the login the web browser crashes.
Now if i try and get back onto the Web Browser I get a message saying "Web already in use", I've restarted the phone, I've even taken the battery out and restarted but this message still appears, I've googled and searched these forums but I can't seem to find any info on this, does anybody know what the problem is, and why the browser seems to crash on certain pages?

My new E61 was working fine but today when I tried to access the Internet I got a "Web: Already in Use" notice and could not access it. I had to hard reformat of the phone (thanks to T-Mobile tech support)and reinstall all of my email and internet settings. I have read on several user forums that this problem has occurred with some regularity. Obviously I do not want to reformat the phone all the time. Are there any other solutions? One user said they brought the phone into a local Nokia store for a software flash but did not say if it worked. Since I am in US, there is no local store to bring it to. Does have any ideas on how to solve this issue? Shouldn't Nokia be saying or doing something?

  • N91 Web: Already in use!

When I try to connect to the web, (using globe/planet icon) I get a Web: Already in use message. How do I get rid of this? I've turned on/off, removed the battery etc,,, nothing!
I can connect via 'Services' though.
What's happening? How do I sort this out please?

I've had this on my N95, and in my case it's due to another program using the connection to the internet - however a power cycle has always solved this for me.
It may be possible that an ill behaving application is automatically connecting to the internet without your knowledge which is causing this problem.
In order to eliminate this problem, you can try to reset your phone, details for which you can find here :
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=4007
However please be aware that doing so will wipe ALL the data from your phone such as information in your calendar, contacts and so on.
In order to save your data you can use the PC Suite application to save and restore the data from your phone - this software can be found here :
    http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite
If this doesn't work then it's likely you have a hardware fault and you should approach your local Nokia Service Centre to get your phone fixed.
    Hope this helps.
Please let me know how you get on.
    Regards,
    Edward

  • Web: Already in use!

    Help!
Everytime I run the web (N80) I have the message "Web: Already in use!" of course I am not using the web browser, i tried almost everything, switch off the phone, reset to manufaturers setting, but still I get that error.
    Thanks
    Kristheo

I have same problem with this serious bug, for some reason when you want to open browser in phone, you see web: already in use ! this bug is on n80, e61 and n73 phones. i think that browser is creating a "i'm busy" flag file, then clearing it when the thing it wanted to do was complete. Aborting the browser stops the file clearing or something like that. does somebody have some solution for that problem ?
    thanx !
bdw. i don't want like many others hard reset my phone, or wait for new firmware download (i have latest firmware) or use opera. i want to use web browser from nokia !
maybe c:/favourites/browserbookmarks/favourites.db file is the probelm, but i don't have any tool for close that file.
please nokia release some patch or why can we reinstall and again install browser from phone.

I'm not sure exactly what you will lose, but Nokia does have the Backup application within PC Suite which can make a backup of your phone before you wipe it which you can then restore back to your phone after you wiped it. However there is a possibility that it could restore the very lock file you just wiped .. which would then become a recursive problem ...

    Hello,
Am caught up with an error and i can't get past it, need some help here.
My application is a batch processing web service client, reads some input rows, sends web service requets, processes the responses and logs it.
The application runs well in normal mode, but under load(more thread count), I get this wierd error and I can't make it go away.

Move server socket creation out of while loop. You don't need to create new server socket every time.
