E61i Gallery / Video causes phone freeze.

Hi there,
I downloaded a video podcast from the BBC but it now causes the phone to freeze whenever I access the gallery pages (any of the types), podcast or even file manager when navigating to the "video" directory. How can I reformat the phone ? Is it possible to reinstall the same firmware as I have the current version ( 1.0633.2205) ?
Additionally, even though I have a default email account created, the email key (press and release) takes me to the internet "nokia business" page, but press-and-hold takes me to compose an email. Shouldn't press-and-release take me to the inbox ?
Lastly, when trying to configure IM services, the only access points visible are for mobile data services, not Wifi. Where can I amend this ?
Great phone otherwise, just hoping it lives up to its expectations.

Thanks for the shortcode. I found an alternative to a reformat though.. I managed to use the filemanager to navigate to the "Podcasting" directory (but not actually into it) and delete it all and everything underneath it. This seems to work.
What's frustrating is that I have an N80. I can use the SAME podcasting software on that to download a video, then bluetooth it across to the e61i and watch it without a problem. But this is awfully longwinded. And also takes an awfully long time...
Anybody else seeing this problem?

IOS7 causing phone freeze/full crash

Installed iOS7 today off my iPhone's settings. Once it finished, I have my phone constantly freezing after only 2 minutes of use, ultimately to slowly shut the screen off by pressing the lock button. The phone won't turn back on unless pressing both the lock key and the home button. I can't even get through apps, like Safari, camera, and settings, nevermind the third party apps. Someone please help.. I can't figure out what is wrong and I've tried restarting my phone and letting it sit off for a while. I can't use my phone for anything, whatsoever.

Suffering the same problems! I was able to download back to ios6.1.4 and then popped into Apple store in Birmingham yesterday. They updated to ios7 and same problems happened again. I didn't have time to wait for a Genius appointment so left the store with a dodgy iPhone. I then tried downloading back to ios6.1.4 when I got home but now an error message comes up and I'm unable to restore! Back to an Apple store later today.

1.1.3 causing phone freeze, dropped calls, bluetooth sync problems

I upgraded to 1.1.3 a couple days ago and have had the following problems since.
1) The phone locked up / froze. I was switching applications and the screen went to half brightness and the phone would not respond. Could not power off, could not get home button to react, nothing. Was sitting down at PC to search for how to reset when the phone just "came back". This is a bit annoying and has happened a couple times.
2) I have the bluetooth integration in my car. It's worked flawlessly since I got the car and set it up. Not one hiccup. Get in the car and voila. As of 1.1.3 the car had a tough time finding the phone. The phone said it was "paired". Took the car a while to see the phone and be able to use it.
3) The phone has dropped 4 calls in the past day. All dropped suddenly with no warning in a place where I always am able to have clear, long calls.
Is anyone else having trouble with this? The new features are great but the phone is starting to really be annoying and "PC" like in its flakiness.

They gave 3 possible solutions. The only one that worked for me was the following:
Connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC then press the “Restore” button in iTunes. When prompted, choose the option “Set up as new iPhone.” Once the phone has been restored, re-attempt pairing with the problematic Bluetooth device. Unfortunately, this solution will result in the erasure of some custom settings on the phone.

I have a question. Lets tell that my/a phone freezed. If i/someone take out the battery(without turn off the phone, because it can't turn off) , cause any problem to phone? I have done it untill now, about 5-6 times (i have the N82, about 7 months)

I suspect it does cause problems but I also do the same thing if it hangs and doesn't go off. I ususally give it about 2 minutes to reboot, if it doesn't after the two minutes I take the battery out.
your only other alternative is to wait unjtill the battery dies but that scares me because when my phone freezes the backlight get's VERY BRIGHT and I don't know what other damage that could be causing so I'll live with taking the battery out

Can any body tell me why i can not view my mobile me gallery videos on my Iphone? When i bring up my gallery on my phone it only shows some of my posted video not all of them and the time has 0:00. If you try and play it you get an error message.

I bought an iPhone 5 in New York last December. Now I live in Bogotá, Colombia and I can't find an authorized service center because they said that only if I bought it from a local carrier they attend the warranty.
My iPhone 5 screen is flickering randomly, the phone freezes and the screen turns black… The only way to make it work is to reboot with Home and Lock buttons pressed at the same time. But in the process most of the times it flickers again, and again, and again. I couldn't find a reason to identify what could be causing the issue. Also sometimes when it freezes, some group applications get ungrouped, causing a big mess.
I already tried to restore the phone, remove the SIM, delete all applications with no luck.
Any sugestion? Thanks!

Was this phone ever jalbroken?
If restoring as new, without using a backup, didn't help, there is certainly a hardware problem that only replacement can fix. Your warranty is void unless you return to the USA. Short of that, finding a local independent iPhone repair center would be your only option

Trackball/Phone Freezing! Any ideas?

i recently got the 8900 and love it. Only problem being about a week ago the trackball has gone all funny. It will randomly freeze? the ball itself moves perfectly and doesnt get stuck but i cant scroll through icons etc on the screen.
If i give it a gentle tap it seems to fix the problem but if i lock the phone then unlock it it seems to freeze again. Is this the trackball or the phone freezing?
Whats the best solution to get it working?

A few suggestions:
-You can check and see if it's your trackball with a hardware check. This is from Blackberry Manuals:
Performing Hardware Check on Blackberry: type T E S T on Options >> Status Screen
-Clean your trackball. just google how-to's I'd say. I pull out my battery and use a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a tissue, let it dry for like 15 minutes, and then it's good to start up again.
-Check if memory cleaning is enabled: Options>>Security Options>>Memory Cleaning. One thing that might be causing the slowness is if you have it enabled. Enabling it cleans your phone of temporary crap that eats up memory, so I like to have it enabled, but it activates when you lock your phone.

It appears that I have the same problem with my IPhone 5 as many others. After I installed IOS 7 my phone freezes up constantly.

I bought the IPhone 5 a few months ago and realized that the phone signal is much weaker than my Iphone 4s. I work way out in the country running heavy equiptment and working cattle most the time by my self. I really need a phone for potential emergencies. I went into the ATT store where I bought it and they told me there is nothing I could do. It had been 2-3 weeks since I bought it so I was stuck with it. Now it has been a few months and I am basicly without a phone when I am at the farm.
The first couple of times I went to the store to complain they told me the last time that a tower was going into operation soon near my farm. I tried to do a search on that and even called ATT and they wont confirm one way or the other as to the tower. I have owned IPhones every since they came out and have been happy with them.
Now a couple of weeks I installed the IOS 7 update and now the phone freezes up all the time. I have have had a plumbing business for 30 years in
Victoria, Tx and I intend to tell everyone I know not to buy apple. They have lied and manipulated me into keeping this phone past the time I can return it.
And I cant use it where I need it most. I called ATT about the freezing and they told me to do a complete backup and restore. That did not do anything except waste a lot of my valuable time and make my life miserable trying to get everything back to the way that I like it.
I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and just buy another phone because I am locked into a contract for the next two years.
Very dissapointed with Apple and cant wait to be done with them.

The music continued to play with the iPod?
If so, when a call is received while listening to music with the iPod, when the call is answered the music should be paused. When ending the call, the music starts playing again from where is was paused.
There is no automatic mute with notifications for received email or messages while on a call and there is no setting for this.

iStat Pro shows GPU diode temp at 66 C, CPU at 48 C, Fan rpms is around 1000

The hard disk has been previously checked with state of the art techniques that have confirmed that the hard disk drive is in perfect condition.

I have restored this
from a time machine partition.
TimeMachine is only a backup and restore, it won't fix issues in software and according to your information, doesn't even optimize the restore for best performance on boot hard drives.

Most commonly used backup methods
There shouldn't be need to reinstall OS X fresh unless your having file structure issues which if they are should appear when in the Steps, which then a zero erase and install will cure as well as any bad sector issues, the defrag step wouldn't be necessarry on a freshly installed system obviously as the files are written all together, not in portions all over the drive.

If the monitor can be detected your Displays preferences should show it in its Arrangement panel. You may have to play around with your Display panel to get the desired resolution. And also may have to click detect displays and gather windows to see both sets of preferences on your main screen.
