E63 Alarm tone without Call tone

I don't know if this is elswhere in the forum, but I couldn't find anything and had to work it out for myself.
If you set the Profile to the default Silent, the phone doesn't ring of course, but unlike my previous phone neither does the Alarm. There is no setting in Personalise to set the Alarm Tone, and Nokia's Help files are pretty useless.
So if you want to be woken by the Alarm but not by any calls do the following:
- record a few seconds of silence on the mike and save it (eg to "Silence")
- use Tools>Profiles>Silent>Personalise>Ringing_tone and set it to your new recording (eg "Silence")
- set Tools>Profiles>Silent>Personalise>Ringing_type to Ascending (or probably anything except Silent)
- set Tools>Profiles>Silent>Personalise>Ringing_volume to anything above zero ( which is one "blob")
(- leave all the other settings as defaults)
Phone calls will ring with "Silence" - so you don't hear them, but the Alarm will use it's normal tone.

What makes you believe that you can't? To set a custom ringtone (or SMS tone) for a contact, go to that contact entry, tap the Edit button in the upper right. You can then edit both ringtones and SMS tones for that contact.

SPA3102 pstn-voip dial tone without entering pin

Hello,
Once spa3102 is authenticated by pin, the adapter gives dial tone without entering pin (just the # sign after the beep) even when a different phone is used to call the spa3102 pstn number.
Isn't this a security compromise? Any one can access my voip account if the pin does not work.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

that's weird...if PIN Authentication is enabled, it prompts the caller to enter the PIN number followed by a # key
how long is your PIN? i have the same set-up in my house and authentication works fine and i tried pressing # after the beeps but it didn't give me a dial tone....

Supply Engaged tone to calls over Max Connection, with out VoIP Gateway

I am tring to provide an engaged tone to calls that have exceeded the Max connections on a dial-peer statement, back to the PBX, without running VoIP Gateway.

If it's a PRI connection run debug isdn q931 to see what's being sent to the PBX. Not sure what you mean by 'without running voip gateway'

If the basics (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new) don't work, you'll need to bring the phone to Apple for evaluation

After upgrading my iPad 1 to OS 5.1, I got trouble to use Skype. I can not hear the calling tone from other during the usage of Skype-to-Skype. I experienced similar behavior (neither Keychain Access nor Safari would start, Chrome cannot access https sites, etc.). It got fixed by following instructions in this article:

Basically remove the ~/Library/Application Support/Ubiquity and restart. OSX will create a new one with the right permisions.

Hi Jerry,
You can run analog input and counter tasks concurrently. You can start them using software timing basically at the same time which may be fine for your needs and is the easiest to implement. You also can use a hardware start trigger to start the tasks if you prefer. It all depends on the level of synchronization you need.
You have not mentioned at what rate you will be acquiring data on your analog inputs. The M Series PCI-6225 has 80 analog inputs and may suit your needs. You will need to know what sampling rate you are trying to achieve. Any M Series device will definitely give you the best value.

Well, we don't know until he returns (if ever) and clarifies that. If its that beep beep, then he also wouldn't have heard anything from whom he called. So that made me think for the other useless tones. If he upgraded from a Cheap Sammy or other Chinese phones to a Nokia, he'll be missing the tonnes - ***Beep*** Call Forwarding activated, ***Beep*** Call Answered

i have this problem with my Z10, at first i thought the speaker was not functioning but to my surprise it worked when i played music from my phone, but no sounds when using youtube or alarm clock, no ringing tone, keypad tone, only when i play music..? any help

HT4623 I don't know what's happened but the media sound isn't working unless I have headphones in. Games, voice notes, music, radio, touch tones and lock tones aren't working and it's also starting to not charge properly as we'll now. What do I do ?

I've tried resetting all settings and tried to alter the sound in settings. If you just want to select the whole song as your ringtone (without cutting out the best part) go to your computer and check were the file is saved. When found create a copy of it and rename its extension from m4a to m4r. Now drag&drop that file into itunes and there is your ringtone

My iMac 20" early 2009 stop working after 10 days. I have a Kernal Panic and when I reboot the iMac it begin to do 3 short tones, 3 long tones, 3 short tones (SOS). Nothing on the screen. Somebody know the meaning of the SOS?

That should not happen to a new iMac and you do have 14 days to return or request a replacement machine no questions asked.
On the other hand if you have installed new ram, it may not be fully seated in the slots or is incompatible with your system. If your sure you have the correct ram, then try reseating it by pushing real hard on each module with both thumbs.
If not, then again without hesitation take it back to where you purchased it...
