E63 Keypad not working at Times

I have E63 which i have purchased just 5 months back. Key pad works in bizzare manner, some time it works and some times it doesnt even respond. From past 2 days i couldnt unlock my phone since the unlock key is not working/responding, only the red(disconnect) key works. This happened many times in this month, the whole thing goes down for few hours and suddenly again it starts working. i have forcibly restarted the phone by removing and replacing the battery but no use. is there any mothd to format the phone, i have tried answerkey+*+3 it didnt work. Please help me out.

I too experience intermittent problems unlocking my E63-1. Often (once a month or so) I'll receive an SMS, go to unlock the keypad in the usual way, to find the top-left soft key does nothing.
The other buttons appear to work, in as much as pressing a key cancels the screensaver (clock) and pressing "red" (end/power) lights up the screen and keypad in the usual way. The phone clearly has not "crashed" as such, since it will accept incoming calls and text messages (and I can even send and read messages over a bluetooth connection!), but the keypad is simply ignored. The only way I've found to get back control of the phone is to pull out the battery to force a restart.
I can only assume it's a software problem, and I don't think there's a solution or even a workaround at present. As with so many problems, we can only hope that someone from Nokia is reading and decides to investigate: as I've previously mentioned in other threads there appears to be no feedback from frontline support to the phone developers. I hope someone proves me wrong!

Problems with lost bookmarks, keypad not working, apps shutting down

Out of the blue, while I was still using Safari, all my bookmarks disappeared. No matter how many times I tried to add a bookmark it doesn't show up on my Bookmarks tab. I've tried adding a new folder on my bookmarks tab but it doesn't work either. I don't know what's going on. I've already reset my iPhone once because there were so many problems after I downloaded iOS4.
Also, I don't recall seeing "History" under the Bookmark tab but now it's there. The History option (along with the websites, etc.) comes and goes. Even after I delete everything from the Settings app, the history still shows up afterwards.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. If I absolutely need to (again), I'll reset my iPhone. I honestly didn't think I was going to have this many problems with iOS4. Everything was perfect before I downloaded the new operating system. I'm also experiencing other problems with iOS4 such as the keypad not working during a phone call and apps shutting down multiple times. Again, any help or suggestions would be great.

By default Firefox opens a blank page for a new Tab, there is no setting to change that action without installing an add-on.

Settings, general, reset and reset network settings. Clear out your network settings and set personal hotspot again.
also avoid special characters making a password. hashtags or open brackets for example doesn't work too good.

It isnt carrier problem. I had 3 months old iphone 5, no problems with network but had light leakage, got replacement 2 days ago and with same sim card there was always no service. Went back to apple store and they will give another replacement tommorow or monday.

Keys-keypad not working

Certain keys on my Curve 8300 keypad are not working, the Q A W and space bar are pretty much non-working. If I hold them down hard 1 out of 10 times I'll get them to work. I've only had a replacement blackberry for a couple of months, so it is fairly new and I take care of it, keep it in a case and have not dropped it or exposed it to water or sand, etc. Any ideas.

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

N95 - keypad not working

Hello,
5-6 days ago I updated the software on my N95 using PC Suite. Everything was fine until 2-3 days ago when the keypad stopped working. When I pressed some button the phone went crazy and started opening random things. I didn't dropped it or get it wet. I tried removing the battery, removing the SIM card - nothing worked. The next day, all the sudden the phone was working again. The day after that the keypad stopped working again. Now it's either not working at all or it's opening random things by pressing some buttons or working normal for a while ...
By the keypad I mean ALL the buttons (including the media keys on the side) except the ON/OFF button on the top (it's the only one working all the time).
So, please tell me is this a software or hardware problem ?
Plus, I'm really really tired of this phone. I've already paid about 150 Euro for repearing which were not because of my fault and now maybe I have to pay and wait even more .. This phone is nothing but trouble for me so far and it is the most expensive one I've buyed ...

Well, I took it for repair and after a first look the guys said that the whole keypad must be changed. After a few days I recieved a call from them to tell me that it is not worth it to be repaired and it will be better just to buy a new one.
We are talking about a pricey phone which never been dropped or got wet, but it was repaired a lot of times for defects. So, I will buy a new phone, but I doubt it if you can convince me to buy Nokia again ...

Keyboard Keypad not working

iMac G5 rev.A OS 10.4.11, Original Apple Pro Keyboard
I never noticed that the numerical keypad on the RH side of my keyboard was inoperative, in that I cannot use the keys to type the digits in any text, nor for entering numbers in an Excel spreadsheet cell.
I never use it except to use the 12346789 keys to nudge the pointer. I always use, by habit I guess, the number keys above the letter keys.
I checked the Finder’s Help and did not find any specific info about the numerical keypad. I thought that may be the Extended Keyboard that came with the computer, somehow had not been identified properly when I installed OS 10.4. Reading Finder’s help about that subject, it said to “Open Preferences, Click Keyboard and Mouse, Click Keyboard, Click the “Change Keyboard Type” button, and Follow the steps when the Keyboard Setup Assistant appears.”
I have one problem: my Keyboard and Mouse Preference does not have a Change Keyboard Type button.
Any suggestions as to how I can get the numerical keypad to work?

_Recommended Solutions_:
1. Press the Option key 5 times to turn Mouse Keys off.
2. Better yet, disable the feature so it can't get turned on again
every time a book leans against the keyboard.
Go into System Preferences,
click Universal Access,
click the Mouse tab (even though this is a keyboard problem),
and uncheck the checkbox labeled "Press the option key five times to turn Mouse Keys on or off".
Gotchas suck!

Part of Keypad Not Working

Hi everyone,
I have an LG VX5400 phone, and have been having trouble with the keypad for the past week or so. Specifically, the middle column of numbers (2, 5, 8, and 0) does not work. I can't press any of these numbers, which makes texting very difficult. In addition, I also can't press the Speaker Phone button, the Send button, or the "up" button on the left side of the phone (which increases master volume). The rest of the keys work as normal. Any suggestions?

How long have you had the Device ? If you've had it for a long time 6 month or a year it might be the contact pads on the underside of your key pad is worn down or Worn out.. Is the phone around allot of Dust Like farming, Grain Elevator, Etc. or are you were there is allot of moisture any one of those elements can cause shortness of Life in the Keypads..But if your not around any of that as i mentioned it might just physical wear..
I would take it too the Local come store and have a Rep or Manager take a look at it and if they can't get it to work as mentioned they'll possibly send you home with a new one or a Refurbished one... or have one sent to your residence..

Blackberry Curve 8900 buttons and keypad not working!

I had it in the bathroom while taking a shower, and I got a few drops of water on it while drying my hair.
Now it turns on, but won't let me unlock it or press any buttons on the keypad.
What do I do?!

Immediately pull the battery and keep it out!
Place your Curve in a container of UNCOOKED rice. Leave the lid off. Leave the Curve alone for five days, yes days.
Avoid temptation to pull it out and insert the battery to see if it functions.
The rice is a dessicant in that it will absorb moisture. You want the battery out so as to avoid shorting out the circutry. That will surely firy things beyond repair.
Alternately or following the five days set it on top of a heat emiting source (low temp dry heat) such as a TV cable box. Or on a interior window sill that gets the sun's rays for a long period (somewhat of a push during the winter)
On the dashboard of your car on sunny days.
The idea is to remove the water. Following the above steps are not guaranteed however they are known to have worked for others.
If you follow the steps and your device still does not work it is time for a visit to your service provider. Hopefully you have insurance as it will cover water damage while it is not covered under warranty.

Notifications not working at times- is there a ...

Bounce Nofiications do not work for new messages at times ---- This means that the skype icon is not bouncing when I come back to mac.
Does it have a time out period ?
1. when   I tested it, going to another window in my mac , my friend messaged me, and icon starts to bounce- notification works
2. when I came back to mac after 30 minutes or so, there is no bounce, but 2 people messaged me.
3. Same thing happens in morning when I come to mac. No bounce-- but people messaged me.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
