  • Acer Iconia One 7 internal memory full and cannot move apps to external sd card

Hi, I have the Iconia One 7 (model B1-730) running kitkat (4.4.2) which has very few apps installed (it is only a month old) and I am already getting an internal memory full error.  I have a 64 GB external SD Card but I can't figure out how to move any of the apps to the external card.  On my wifes phone (Galaxy S3) you just go into the app in the settings and there is a button you can push to move it to the external memory but I am not seeing any such button here. Please help, Thanks,

you can move only non system application (default installed applications), you will find the same button to move to SD but notice that on kitkat google changed policy on SD data management and this limited a lot the "move to SD" option. samsung by-passed that going against Google rules, Acer didn't.

  • X6 32GB memory full and Facebook corrupted

I am having this X6 for a month now. I always encounter "memory full, application will be closed". Am not sure, about the phone memory still having ~150MB, isn't that enough? Or I should really uninstall all the apps and reinstall those into the mass memory?
another thing is,my facebook app seems to me is corrupted. I couldn't sign in as it will prompt "application error, restart might help". I try to look for the application so i can reinstall but it prompt me saying that application is not available for X6! I find it ridiculous, because X6 is fb ready device, why it is not available in ovi?
thanks in advance for the helps.

Hi, I'd reccommend the Facebook and Twitter client, from Nokia Beta Labs(also available at Ovi , but from beta labs you can download to pc and so save to re-install again !) I find it MUCH better than the standard app, and it offers geo tagging, so you can remove that from Ovi maps, save C space and install comunities to E

  • Why is my memory full when i have only used half of it?

Hi all, i have a 2012 MBA 120GB, i am new to mac books but have had all the other apple products for a long time.
my MBA is constantly telling me "memory full" and other messages like that. i have looked at "about this mac" and it displays i have 60gb of music, photos, apps etc, and the other 60gb is "other", and therer is no memory left.
i have deleted all of my emails in all boxes to see if this is it, and it isnt. i dont have any back ups, for our iphones and itunes at all, and i havent set up time machine either. i am at a total loss as to why this could be.
i have avoided using it latley because i cant put anymore photos or music on to it. the only thing that i have done to it since i have had it is install Mountain lion, and microsoft office for mac.
i have looked around for the answer to this and have come up with nothing, i'm no expert at all with a mac, i have looked at installing daisydisk or something like that, but i dont have enough memory to install it!! so if anyone has a step by step guide as to how to sort this out i would be REALLY grateful!!

  • 9300i Memory Full - Delete some files - Memory Ful...

I had trouble with my 9300i, it started saying "Memory Full" and told me to delete some files. The problem was, I tried to delete files, but the phone couldn't do it, because the memory was full... I couldn't do anything.
The Control panel's "Memory" said I had 500 Kb of messages, 500 Kb of calendar, and 79 megabytes of "Other file types".
The File manager did not show me anything other than "My own files" and the folders were empty.
I couldn't find any help from Nokia sites. A friend adviced me to make a Full backup on a MMC card, transfer it to PC and delete a certain file: Mail/index. That's what I did, then I resetted the phone to factory settings and transferred the Full backup back to phone.
This helped and my phone was once again operational. However, all my messages were gone, and I had to save the email settings from scratch, so beware, if you need to do the same.
So how can the memory fill 100% if I use the "Delete sent messages after X days" and keep deleting the new ones?! What is this "index", and why is there no clever way to make it smaller...

  • Memory full message on E63

It has hardly been 10 months since my purchase of Nokia E63. Now it has started giving me an error message. This error message comes when I am on active call and at the same time I have another incoming call. I am unable to switch to second incoming call and I am prompted with this message "Telephone:Memory Full. Please close applications and try again later".
In order to overcome the issue, I have updated to latest firmware and ensured that no applications are open and also made sure that all the data is stored in the memory card which gives away plenty of free space in mobile phone memory. I have around 3.8GB free on my memory card and 96Mb on my phone memory, still I get the same message.
I dunno if its the problem with the phone or the SIM card. Please help me out with this issue asap.

have a go with the following codes back up your data 1st
1.. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data) Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for ALL operations listed here is 12345.
2.*#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.)3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
    3. hard reset - hold the following buttons * (star key), 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons

  • WebLogic JMS high memory usage and frequent full GCs

    Hi Team,
We have below set up in production (and all the lower environment).
    1. WLS: 10.3.6 (64 bit)
    2. Java: HP JDK 1.7.0.06 (64 bit)
    3. Two Manage server instances in cluster with one Migratable target
    4. one JMS server with Persistence store targeted to Migratable target
    5. Messages are persisted in DB
    6. about 37 distributed queues/topics are hosted on one JMS server
    7. .Net JMS clients and WebLogic JMS clients connect to respective JMS distributed Queues/topics to either produce message or consume.
Since last month, we see that WebLogic Manage server hosting JMS server keeps on chewing memory "even with small (of the order of 28 messages in 4/5 days) load", GC indicates that objects are shifted from PSYoung space to ParOldGen during minor GCs but ParOldGen space keeps on filling up in smaller chunks. After x number of days (where x ranges from 5-7 days), even Full GC is not able to bring down memory significantly and that's when frequent full GCs start with long pauses making JMS highly unstable.
We don't have JMS Quotas configured but I think something else going on as it is not high on load.  Any additional hints or troubleshooting steps is much appreciated?

    Regards,

Thanks Luz. I have been collecting gclogs and heap dumps (whenever app server is high on memory and frequent GCs with long pauses are seen). So far heap dumps haven't revealed anything specific (may be I am not able to read heap dumps properly ) but looking at GC confirms that app server is consuming allocated heap.I was following Oracle WebLogic server support Patter as you have indicated. I thought about opening a ticket with HP but on high level JVM is doing what is suppose to do i.e allocating memory space as needed and performing GC therefore didn't go that path.
Any other suggestions that might be useful. One of the things I forgot to mention ( and I will add it to original message), that one of the .Net consumers is not asynchronously connecting to its queue (to consume messages) rather it is synchronously connects and then if it doesn't find messages it disconnects and process goes on every few seconds. I was reading somewhere that frequent JNDI look ups should be avoided. Can this cause memory issue if so then it is strange as this same set up has been there over a year and we never has problem then?
    Regards,

  • Getting messages "startup disk is full" and activity monitor is showing "syslog d" is using a lot of CPU.  I'm planning on getting more memory for my late 2008 model Macbook but wondering if there's something that is causing problems that I can also fix.

I had closed out of all of my programs but heard the internal fans running so I checked the activity monitor.  It shows syslog d as the top process using the CPU right now.  I have no idea what that means.
I read a thread about the startup disk being full and how you can free up memory.  I have an airport extreme so TimeCapsule is backing up everything.  I do have a bunch of pictures on iPhoto on the laptop;  could move those to another location but I'm a little gunshy.  I know they are on the TimeCapsule but I would like to save them to a second place before deleting from laptop just to be sure.  I went through several things yesterday and emptied trash, etc.  I wasn't able to locate the hidden files that the thread about the startup disk being full was referencing --- they were talking about large emails that were causing processes to happen taking up the CPU.... I wasn't able to find out if that was the case for me.
Also I'm going to look into getting another 2MB of memory and installing it on the Macbook, so I can upgrade to the latest OS.  Anyone have an idea if that is worth the $$$ over buying a new laptop?  Or anyone have ideas as to where to buy memory, etc.

Ok when you refer to "memory" that is the Random Access Memory which is temporary memory the processor (worker) uses to store stuff while it's using it. Power goes off whats in the memory is gone.
Your storage drive is where data is pernamnetly stored if the power is on/off.
So what you really mean to say is your storage drive is filled up and you need to make some room.
You have a TimeMachine drive, what this does is makes a image of your internal storage drive as a backup method, it also allows some "back in time" restoration of your previous deleted files depending how much space is on that drive. The more space, the less data you have, the more days you can go back in time to retrieve something.
Unfortunatly the TimeMachine drive is not a extra space storage drive, it automatically rotates what appears on your internal storage drive. So if you delete something from the internal drive, it eventually gets deleted from the TimeMachine drive.
So you need to make some more room on your internal drive, this is rather easy, all you need is ANOTHER external drive and connect it to the Mac. Give it a name like ExtraStorage#1 and thenyou will have to decide which of your User files you really don't need on the internal drive.
For instance the best choice would be to move some movies out of your Movies folder to another MoviesExtra folder on the ExtraStorage#1 drive.
Movies take a LOT of drive space and you can always copy them on or off, or watch them from the ExtraStorage#1 drive as well. But if your going to do this a lot, you should consider getting a Firewire 800/400, USB 3,2,1 combination drive as Firewire 800 is fastest and decently priced (Thunderbolt is very high priced and overkill at this time)
The other things like Documents are quite small, Pictures can take a lot of space if you have a lot, but if you need them on the internal drive then that's better. Music one tends to use a lot or manage playlists and such, but perhaps some music you may which to move off or "prune", I suggest always burning data DVD's of music especially for extra backups.
Once you have freed some room on the internal drive, this liitle neat program will show you what is taking the largest amount of space on your internal drive.
    http://grandperspectiv.sourceforge.net/
After a scan, right click on the big squares to "revel in Finder" to show you what's taking the largest amount of space, be warned it also opens up hidden system files and folders, which you won't be able to move. So concentrate on what's inthe Users folder.
Likely if you have a lot of Movies this is the biggest culprit on most standard internal hard drives. Also if you have something in iTunes that's auto-downloading something like PodCasts and not deleting the older ones and you forget. So go there and fix things and that can free up drive space.
If you bought a small SSD with your new Mac, then the price of that SSD has come back to haunt you with low storage space, you will have to think carefully what you can live without on the internal drive.
Once you have slimmed things down, TimeMachine will update to reflect your slimmer internal drive. What this means is there is only one copy of your data on the ExtraStorage#1 drive.
You need to maintain two copies of your data at all times on seperate hardware, so now you need ANOTHER storage drive (ExtraStorage#2) to copy everythinng of ExtraStorage#1, or else if you drop or have a mechanical problem with ES#1 all that data will be gone!
