E65 and GPS Navman

Hi,
I have a Nokia E65 and a GPS bluetooth Navman 4410.
The GPS's code to pair is NAVMAN.
But when I try to pair them, I only can write numbers (no letters).
Could you help me?
Thanks a lot.

All Nokia phones seem to support only numeric Bluetooth passcodes (pairing codes).
There are about 950 million Nokia phones in daily use. Nokia sold 437 million phones in 2007 alone.
NAVMAN is loosing a lot of potential customers by insisting on using "NAVMAN" (all letters) for their Bluetooth GPS receiver, as no Nokia phone owner can use a NAVMAN GPS receiver.
Of course, Nokia could also change their phones to also accept other characters (not just digits) for Bluetooth passcodes, but it'll still be easier and faster for a much smaller and probably nimbler company, like NAVMAN, to change, than it it is to get a big company to do such a change (and there are more existing Nokia phones out there, than NAVMAN GPS units, I'm sure).
In the meanwhile, buy and use somebody else's Bluetooth GPS modules (or somebody else's phones, if you absolutely must have a NAVMAN GPS receiver, and nothing else will make you happy).

  • LG Ally text message and gps problems

hello. ive been with verizon for about 10 years maybe. ive been overall happy with the service and customer service. but the prices should be alot lower.lol. i started out with the motorolas then switched to the lg phones. only problem with the motorola was the speakers. not loud enough. could never hear the phone ring. the lgs usually suffer from the same problem.
i had a few phone problems but nothing like this lg ally. im on my second one and about to be my 3rd one in about 3 months. 1st phone i had every problem under the sun. this phone i am suffering from text message problems and gps problems. i suffer from what everyone else has problems with. the messages wont send. they will eventually lock up. it will show the envelope with the red explanation point ( i think thats the graphic). then usually everytime when i sent a text the texts will close. it will send then bounce back and show up as a draft and i have to resend it and wait for it to go thru. finally the last problem with the texts. when i send a text a phone number from my contacts shows up and freezes on the screen. its in white text with a black background. its the same number every time. it stays on the screen until i restart or pull my battery out.
gps. when i open up google gps that comes with the phone i make sure the gps is on... when the directions are found and the map pops up 9 out of 10 times it just keeps saying searching for gps. the turn by turn never is found. the 1 time it does it takes a good 10 minutes to be found. atleast on my first one ally the gps did work 8 out of 10 times. it just took a good 5-10 minutes for gps to be found and show turn by turn.
anyone else have these problems? where you able to fix them or did you need to get a new phone? the 2.1 update was supposed to fix problems. i think they just made it worse. the ally is supposed to have 2.2 froyo. where is it. is it ever going to get it. i got this phone because i like the lgs and the keyboard. also the sales representative on the phone was giving the lg ally rave reviews. why couldnt he say dont buy this go with a motorola droid. this phone is the biggest junk ever made

I do apologize you are having trouble with your device I looked in our information system on the LG Ally in reguards to issues you are having it states if you have the Free Droid Security anti virus protection application down loaded it will cause the phone to lock up or freeze. Check and make sure you do not have the application on your device. Check you GPS settings and make sure correct. Go to Settings; Location & Security; make sure GPS is on wireless network. If this does not fix issue you can try doing a Master Reset on your device. Make sure your contacts are saved in your G-mail account or through Back Up Assistance.
    Master Reset/Soft Reset:
    Factory Reset option 1
From the main screen, touch menu tab
    Touch Settings
    Touch Privacy
    Touch Factory Data reset
    Touch Reset Phone
Warning: This will erase all data from your phone, including:
    Your Google account
System and application data and settings
    Downloaded Applications
It will not erase: Current System software and bundled applications; SD Card files, such as music or Photos
Factory Reset option 2  - Warning this will reset device back to original factory settings.
    Turn off the phone
Press and hold "home" + "end" + "volume up or down" keys together for a few seconds when the device is power off
Once device displays boot information, release keys.
    Soft Reset
    Press the Power key.
    Touch Power off.
    Touch OK.
Press the Power key to power on the device.
    or
Remove battery cover, remove battery and reinstall. Also there is a new update for LG Ally it will be the Froyo 2.2 but there is not release date available at this time it will post on your device when available. Hope this Helps. Leslie

  • E65 and BT headset

I bougt E65 smatphone, everything seems great with it, exept one thing. When I connect my Logitech Freedom Hedset and NextLink Bluespoon AX2 on it it drops volume to the minimum, so every time I have to put it to maximum manually on headset...
Another thing when you answer the call using the headset, first second you hear callr's voys on max. level and than it drops to minimum... Pretty annoying, especially when you drive. Enyone have the solution for theese probelms? Also it is not possible to chenge volume of a headset from the phone itself...
Theese headsets were working properly on my old Nokia 6230i, so i suppose they are not broken or anything.

I have the same problem with my E65 and both of my Logitech Freedom headsets (versions 5 and 8). Although the volume problem is annoying, there is a more serious problem where after a while you hear the other party very loud and distorted, while the other party does not hear you at all anymore. Only way to solve this is to reboot (switch off and on) the phone. The headsets work perfectly on my 2 other Nokia phones, one 6021 and one other I don't remember the model number.
My only resolution is to buy a new headset, any recommendations for troublefree use?

  • E65 and what router

hi first time poster long time reader so please be nice
I have an E65 and i'm trying to get the internet telephone to work
    Location: UK
    Connection is : Virgin 20MB
current router : Netgear WPN 824v2 wireless router(latest firmware)
my problem is i can connect to the wireless network and surf the net no problem , but as soon as i try to make a net call it crashes the router , i use Ubuntu and ekiga on both wired and wireless , my thought is the phone is just not compatible with the netgear.
So oh great and wise Nokia forum Guru's what routers do you use that is know to work with an E65
    min router requirements are :
    Cable
    4 port lan
    wireless
i'm looking at the Linksys: WRT300N " The incredible speed of Wireless-N makes it ideal for media-centric applications like streaming video, gaming, and Voice over IP telephony"
over to the forum and thanks for all help advice given

This is what i got back from Netgear Support
WPN824v2 is a home class router and does not have any specific support for Session Initiation Protocol or a H.323 gateway. The unit was not designed for use with a SIP phone in mind and may not work with it.
You can try a firmware update or a downgrade.
Version 2.0.10 ( North America and Worldwide Versions) Nov 15, 2006
Version 2.0.6_1.2.17 ( for use in North America only ) Sep 1, 2006
    Version 1.0.20 ( for use only in Europe ) May 25, 2006
    Version 1.0.19 Mar. 10, 2006
    Initial Release 1.0.1 Jan. 3, 2006
It may also be necessary to DMZ the IP address of the phone and or disable the SPI firewall.
Assign a static IP address to the phone if able and then place that IP address of the phone in the DMZ option located under Advanced, WAN Setup.
    OR
Enable port forwarding to the below listed ports.
    Port 5060 TCP and UDP
    Port 5004 UDP
Port 10000 UDP (sipgate Stun service - usually 3478/9)
Ports 16348-32768 UDP (RTP, RTCP multimedia streaming)
STUN normally operates on TCP and UDP port 3478
Or what ever ports are specified by the provider.
Note: The DMZ or port forwarding can be used but no both setup to the same IP address at the same time.
You may also want to review the below listed web site for a work around using SSH.
    http://www.fonosip.com/english/trouble.html
Please not the WPN824v2 is end of life and no longer manufactured and more then likely there will be no further firmware updates.
    Thank you for choosing NETGEAR.
has anyone found a router that works with the E65 ???

  • E65 and Bluetooth intermittent freeze up on phone

    Hi Guys
Thanks for taking the time to respond:
I have an E65 and PC suite at home and office (Toshiba and Bluesoleil). This works well 80% of the time. It's not set to sync auto.
Often the Bluetooth on the phone freezes in connected mode and the only way to get it going is to switch bluetooth off on the phone and on again. It’s flashed to the latest firmware to no avail.
I've set the phone to Bluetooth - hidden and this doesn’t make much difference either.
The nasty is that when it freezes like this it causes the battery to drain rapidly and will prob have me die early because of the continuous radiation!
    Any advice is much appreciated.

could also be an issue with short bluetooth range of the phone or headsets
at least it would break up like that if range was an issue

  • E65 and 4GB MicroSDHC support

Bought a E65 and tried to run a 4GB MSDHC card. Failed! Any ideas?

The E65 does not support SDHC cards.
It supports standard SD cards up to 2GB. 4GB standard SD cards may work but I don't know anyone who has tried it.

  • IOS4 and GPS Errors

I live on the Mississippi and for the last week the GPS function on my iPhone 3G - upgraded to iOS4 - and my new iPhone 4 puts my location in Fort Walton Beach, FL instead of Diamondhead, MS. The same error occurs when I'm at work at Stennis Space Center.
Interestingly, my bosses iPhone 3GS that hasn't been upgraded to iOS4, and my iPad, both properly indicate my location. Friends and colleagues with phones upgraded to iOS4 are all in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
What gives? I know the GPS is assisted in determining location by local cell towers, but it seems that iOS4 is not verifying the location using the GPS chip.
This really ***, as all location-aware applications are now hosed.
    Mike

Quick update for everyone. I got fed up with the no gps issue and ended up going to the apple store. The genius gave me a replacement phone and gps seemed to work fine on the replacement, but the touchscreen had issues. I then returned that replacement and got a second replacement which is having the same GPS inaccuracy as my original phone. This is obviously a software bug with ios4 that apple has yet to address. Frankly I am tired of apples lack of quality control in their recent products and will be looking for an alternative as soon as my contract with AT&T expires. What a shame.

  • Cannot disable e65 and windows media player sync

    Hi
I have a Nokia E65 and i am using Nokia PC suite to sync it.
every time the phone connects i get a message from the windows media player that the phone memory is nearly full...
Any idea how I can disable the sync between media player and the mobile? i have tried doing it through the media player, but everytime i remove the phone from the devices list in media player, it comes back again.
    thanks

Windows Media Player is set to automatically sync with any new player it detects. To switch it off, connect the phone (in Media Player mode); when it starts syncing cancel the sync; then go to:
'Sync' tab -> Down arrow (righ click) for more options menu -> Nokia E65 (or whatever the name of your phone) -> Advanced Options
Uncheck the 'Start sync when device connects' and you're good to go. This option can also be found under:
Options -> Devices -> select Nokia E65 (or whatever the name) -> Properties button
    Hope this helps!
    Ericsson T10i -> Nokia 7110 -> Siemens C45, C55, M55, M65 -> Nokia 6131, N73, N82 -> HTC Wildfire, Desire HD -> Nokia Lumia 800 -> HTC Desire X -> Lumia 820 -> Sony Xperia SP -> Lumia 925 + Sennheiser CX 500

  • Delete e-mail accounts on E65 and 6280

I am about to sell my phones but I can't delete the e-mail accounts. I have read all possible manuals and guidelines but I can't find any instructions how to remove an old e-mail account.
On my E65 and I can blank out all fields but not delete och reset the entire account. Also the subject line on deleted mails are not possible to remove.
On my 6280 I have a bug so I can't use down arrow when I have th e-mail program running.... That causes me to not be able to blank out the account information. I have tried the factory reset but that does not reset e-mail account.
Can any one help me to remove the accounts or in some way reset the entire phone so all personal information is removed?
I can't sell the phone when it contains settings to a important mail account!

On the E65 - *#7370# performs a reset which will wipe all data and put the phone back to basic configuration.
I am not sure if this will work on the other handset - give it a try.
    Hope his helps.

  • Time and GPS data windows

    Hello all
I was presented this sample 1080 frame and was asked if I can do this if time and GPS metadata were part of the video recording. In other words, how do you burn in this data in the video itself. I have P Pro CS 6 @ home and am a complete novice to video editing. Final product may or may not need this, more curious as to how its done - special camera system or in post processing?
    Thanks!

If whoever shot the video recorded time of day timecode synced from a GPS receiver that was close to the camera (in your case that looks like it would mean mounted in the helicopter), you can use the time code data to match your GPS metadata to the video. I use an automated process to incorporate the the metadata into the video, but the process is all done with custom software that the CEO of our company wrote. The other people I've seen incorporating GPS metadata into video are also using customized, proprietary processes. If you're adding the data in post, you will have to translate the data into Premiere titles or After Effects text keyframes or something else that you can overlay on the video.
You can also use hardware during your shoot to overlay the GPS data onto the video. I don't use any products that do this, and I don't know how easy they are to find for purchase, but there definitely are people in the geospatial sector who feed video through a GPS-aware piece of video processing hardware that overlays time and position data in real time. In this case you would feed video (most likely through HD-SDI) from your camera to the GPS overlay hardware and then to a recorder.
There certainly aren't any GPS features built into Premiere Pro. If you want to add titles manually, you'll have to match the time code with your GPS data and make a new title each time the GPS info is supposed to update. GPS data is usually some form of table or spreadsheet with time, coordinates, and other positional data, so you can find the correct time in the video and make a title that includes the corresponding coordinates for that time. If you're doing this for more than a few seconds of video, it will be an unreasonably long and tedious process, but it is possible.

  • Video and GPS data from iPhone movie?

Hi, I have following problem/ idea for a solution: I lost the canopy of by model airplane during a flight in a wheat field. Now I am looking for a solution to find it: what about a video camera and a GPS device, flying over the field, recording video and GPS data, play back video and (hopefully) find the canopy at frame xyz. Then read out the GPS position at this frame and go back in the field to the GPS coordinates and find what I lost.
    So the questions are:
    1. are the Video recordings stamped (?) with a continuous GPS position
    2. can this data be read out
    3. is there an app that can do this
    4. is this the correct forum for this question?
    Thanks for any ideas
BTW: I already tried to order a new canopy, no luck...

Let me get this straight... You lost the canopy for your model airplane... Now you want to strap your iPhone to another model airplane and fly it all over in the area where you lost the canopy.
Piece of advice: Make sure you set up find my iPhone on it before you send it out on its mission. you may need it, in combination with its ability to emit an alarm when triggered remotely, to find the iPhone after it falls off the search plane.
With luck, the fallen iPhone will land near the canopy you seek.
To try and answer the questions:
    1. I believe the entire recording gets 1 location coded in the metadata. It is not a continuous stream of location data.
    2. Not relevant based on the answer to 1.
    3. I seriously doubt it, but I won't be shocked if someone has come up with something among the half million or so apps out there.
    4. I don't think there is a correct forum for this, but this works as well as any.

  • No or bad Bluetooth and GPS with my iPhone 3GS.

    Hi all,
I have serious Problems using either GPS and Bluetooth with my iPhone 3GS. First I recognized that my Bluetooth headset was not working as before. For example the connection is dropped quite often and The quality is really bad.
Second I found that the GPS signal is such Bad that no APP like runkeeper or Nike+ can work with it.
Strange is that everything is working well after a reset to factory defaults using iTunes. But both BT and GPS are only working As designed for about 12 to 18 houers. After that timeframe The Device has to Be reseted with iTunes again :-(
Snce everything was working fine a few weeks ago, I guess it has to do somezhing with the latest firmeware.
BTW: The headset IS working fine with other devices and the googlemaps app, included in the iOS is showing a GPS signal (20 to 50 m radius)
Any help is welcome. Please respond to [email protected], thanks!

  • Sony A6000 and GPS

Will Sony release a new model from A6000 with GPS !?  I really would like to have this feature in the camera directly instead of using the mobile phones to sync the  GPS coordinations.  Zein

I would agree David.  While I am sure that the GPS function is a "must have" feature for some, it is not of importance for others.  Sony likely had to make a decision on which feature they felt would be more important to the greater number of buyers.  In todays cell phone era of photography, with instant sharing to social media being all the rage, I am sure Sony felt that WiFi and NFC would be a hotter feature than GPS. I have an older Sony Cybershot model with GPS, and frankly never used it.  It is a drain on the cameras battery. I found that there are better alternative for tagging photos in Lightroom. Some smart phone based such as GeoTag Photos and gps4cam, others hardware based. Lightroom has the ability to read .gpx tracks from handheld GPS units and gps loggers.  These will last all day without draining the cameras battery. I am sure the lack of GPS is a deal breaker for some, others will appreciate the WiFi and NFC and work around the GPS. It is all in what compromises you can best live with.
