E66 beeping noise from speaker

Hi,
I'm having a problem with my E66. The speaker has a background beeping noise (about 4-5kHz) when speaking normally on the phone. I have had the phone changed 2 times but the problem still exist. The same problem has occured in all 3 phones. Is this a normal problem and what is the solution to this? The first phone was purchased a week ago at Elisa Shopit in Espoo.

This sounds like too much of a coincidence, with all 3 phones the same.
Does it happen with every call and all the time or does it only happen at a specific location when you call a specific number?

  • Mini Server makes odd noise from speaker!

Anyone else getting a noise from their Mac Mini server speaker that sounds like a file being deleted?
No regular pattern to when it comes, it's unprompted and happens even when no one is logged on to the network.
I have a (used) Mac Mini 2011 with two (new) 1TB drives in RAID 1 and a clean instal of the latest OS X with all updates applied and the server app purchased two weeks ago from the App Store. It's been doing it (more often in the evenings) almost since I set up the server.
    Anyone got any thoughts?

Not so much clicky as just a subtle little buzzing undertone to the ordinary quiet hum of the Mini when the fan's not spun up that makes my brain think "something mechanical needs oiling", IE it's a motory kind of noise like metal moving against metal. (Which I suppose could be the HD spinning on its axel, perhaps, it seems unrelated to any sort of "reading disk now" ticks. Um, yeah, the Mini is probably on the desk a little too close to my right ear that I know what this all sounds like... ) Too, too familiar with HD Clicking Of Death, that was last May's "...THAT ain't right" $300 moment -- I have been backing up religiously since then, believe me! Wouldn't have thought of Disk Utility RE a possible mechanical issue, I'll have a look...

can someone please explain me what is this noise coming from nokia phones ???
you can also hear this by attaching (bringing) the phone close to your ears like you are talking on the phone but the diffence is that the camera side will touch your ear and in a silent environment you will hear the sound.. a digital beeping noise.. same thing happens with my mother's mobile phone too.. her phone is a nokia 6133..
so i guess this is not something related with s60 phones..
you can write here.. or send me email or add me from msn..

    the noise still continues..
it was clear in 6630.. but when you take off the back cover you can still hear this noise easily..
and by the way, i didnt like the phone..
    n95 8gb is very silly..
when you connect the ear phones you can not put the phone in to your pocket.. it doesnt just fit.. it becomes so huge in shape with the ear phones cable. lol..
and i still couldnt connect it to my pc.. haha.. very funny innovations from nokia.. i wonder if they use unnatural powers on us to force us to go and buy these phones.. lol..

  • Beeping noise from charger

So my charger has started to make a beeping noise, what does this mean?

I agree with Akuma. If the warranty is still valid contact nearest Authorized service provider and ask for replacement.
Addresses and phone numbers you can find under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Find an ASP
    Good luck!

  • Beep noise from w510

    Just get it also..
When I turn off the cpu deep sleep (in power manager), it is much better...
    Should I contact for replacement?

Kind of random..small noise but very sharp
    Mostly like, beep..noise..beep beep...
It maybe the same as the report for annoy noise.
I am trying to download the GPU's drive to try. But when you turn off the enable deeper sleep, it is much better. I even think it comes from the left speak, which is near the electrical signal...

  • Back to back scratch noises from speaker and headphone jack, very faint

I'm having a headphone/speaker issue, but it is very difficult to describe. When I use my computer, the speakers or headphones (if plugged in) will occasionally emit two quick scratchy noises back to back. The speakers and headphones work great, but I can't figure out what the noises are. They sound kinda like if you were to gently scratch the macbook pro casing with your fingernail. Any ideas as to what can cause it to happen?

it seems that m1r3k found a very good workaround, at least for the Mid 2010 Mac mini models (that I'm using right now). I don't know if it works also with more recent Mac mini models.
Re: After upgrading to lion, cant select HDMI sound setting
Open Audio MIDI Setup.app in /Applications/Utility, click the + (plus) button in the bottom left corner of the window and choose "Create Multi-Output Device". In the new device settings tick the HDMI "Use" checkbox and you're done. Simply go to the usual System Preferences Audio panel and choose the newly created device, without the need to unplug the audio cable from the back of the Mac mini. You can also name the new audio device as you want.
    NOTE:
This is only a workaround for a deliberate choice made by Apple on OS X Lion 10.7.2 and beyond:
Mac mini: About HDMI audio and headphones
Please let Apple know (here or here) how this has made things unnecessary awkward for users and needs to be fixed (these forums don't count, they are not read by Apple's employees)!

  • Strange noise from speaker.

    Hi there,
I have bought iPod nano 5G and everything seemed to work perfectly, until now. I found that sometimes that internal speaker is making some noise. It's like "ssss" all the time iPod is turned on.
I understand that this behavior is normal for ordinary speakers, but.. when I open any game, then ingame set SFX to 0%, noise dissapears. After rebooting device it's here again, annoying as always.
I tried to restore my iPod, even few times. And still no effect. What should I do?

Rebooting resets volume to default level I believe.
Did the nano get wet or fall into any water?
If you are always getting a hissing sound coming from the external speaker, you should consider visiting the Genius Bar at an Apple store.

  • Beeping noise coming from internal sound board

there is a strange beeping noise coming from internal sound board. it doesnt matter if the volume is all the way down it still happens. the noise happens most ten times an hour and it is just one loud beep. took it to geek squad and they couldnt explain. so why is it making this noise?

This beeping plagued me for months and months, driving me insane.  I tried to find a solution on the Internet; however, all I found were many people complaining about this random beeping noise from their HP laptops.  A couple of times the beeping stopped for a few days, but then it would come back.   But almost three months ago it stopped for good (I hope)!  I didn't do anything--it just stopped.  WEIRD.  But you might find this link helpful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svvZ70_H2wM&feature=email&email=comment_reply_received

  • Continuous Beeping noise on Startup and at other times

My iMac is over a year old. I have no idea what is wrong or happening here but below is what happens.
I hear a continuous beeping noise from my iMac at times. I had Firefox open and when it started beeping, a little search bar opened up at the bottom left of the browser so I assumed it was a sticky key on the keyboard so I pressed the spacebar and the beeping stopped and the search bar disappeared. This happened a few more times while I was using the browser.
The other day I started up my iMac and before it opened to the desktop it showed a small iMac HD icon so I clicked it and it started up normally, but then the beeping started so I just hit the spacebar and it stopped. Now I do remember after I turned the iMac on I accidently pressed some keys on the keyboard so this maybe why it showed the HD icon but I don't really know.
Yesterday morning I turned the iMac on and came back to hear it was beeping again. It was just a fast non stop beeping, too fast to count the beeps. It had loaded into the desktop so it was all good apart from the beeping, again I pressed the spacebar and it stopped.
Yesterday afternoon I got more beeping. Beeping is not just on startup it must be something else. I was using Firefox and was trying to scroll down the page, yet it kept jumping back to the top not letting me scroll down. This happened the other day when the beeping started. Anyhow I closed the browser and the beeping starts. I was able to turn the sound down and that got rid of the beeping, turned the sound up and the beeping still there.
    I tried this so far...
unplugged keyboard and started up mac = no beeping
plugged keyboard in and started up mac = beeping
Again this morning I turned my iMac on, and beeping happened again, this time I clicked System Prefrences and the beeping stopped. I then clicked the Sys Pref folder red icon to close it and it made a different noise, but closed. I then opened up Firefox and went straight to my bookmarks to find a link, it wouldn't let me scroll down my list of bookmarks either, then the beeping started so I closed Firefox. Then I heard a loud sratchy type noise, it was much louder and hearing this has now made me think, something is not right.
    Firefox version - 3.5.3
    Mac OS X version 10.5.8
I don't want to set PRAM or those settings yet unless it's needed as I don't know what settings/network etc it will remove or change.
    I appreciate any help:) thanks

  • Relentless Beeping Noise

    Hello,
Just wondering if someone could please help me with this. My Macbook, over the past few weeks, has for some reason started beeping. The noise seems to be originating from within the computer itself (i.e. not coming from the speakers). At times the beeping is quick and quiet, but others it is long and VERY loud. Also, just before it happens, I feel as though I can hear the computer making that loading noise, as if something was being loaded, and then immediately after (like a fraction of a second) the beeping noise occurs.
Not sure if this means my computer is going to suddenly fail catastrophically, and so any help would be supremely appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Weird beeping noises through front 1/8" jack (after wake from sleep)

    Hi,
I am experiencing a really weird problem on my month-old Mac Pro. Whenever I put the computer to sleep, and subsequently wake it up, I get troubled by weird beeping noises coming through whatever headphone/speaker is plugged in to the front headphone jack. These will seemingly randomly occur in either the left or right speaker.
The weird thing about these beeps is that they only occur after a sound has just stopped playing (doesn't matter the source, it can be after a system sound, a new mail sound, after playing a song in iTunes, ...), but they don't appear after every sound. What I mean is that I can play the same sound 10 times over, and the beeping noise will or will not occur completely randomly. Now normally the beeps are very short (and slightly annoying), but sometimes this beep will keep on beeping at a constant tone. The only way to get rid of it (temporarily) is to play a sound through the headphone/speaker, for example by increasing the volume so that the little 'tick'-sound plays or by dis- and then reconnecting the headphone/speaker.
I'm pretty certain that it isn't a software related problem, because once I have a constant beep going I can switch to my line-out on the back of the Mac and turn on the speakers connected there, without them being afflicted (I also never experienced this problem with sound playing via the back line out). What's more, the beeping sound will even then continue to be audible in the headphone connected to the front jack.
There doesn't seem to be any constant factor in this behavior, except that it only occurs after waking the computer from sleep. By now I have already had the front panel replaced, as the Apple reps thought it might be a faulty headphone jack, but to no avail. The matter is ofcourse complicated because I can't reproduce the problem on the fly, because of the random occurences, thus making it hard for the service people to actually get an idea what might be wrong.
As I don't feel like missing my computer again for a while, i thought I'd ask the collected wisdom on this forums if anyone has experienced a similar problem and, if that's the case, if they were perhaps able to find out what the exact cause of this behavior was?
    Thx in advance,
    Tim

Ah bummer (and here I was hoping it could be easily solved) .
I'll still try a fresh system install in a few days time, to make absolutely sure it isn't software-related (against better judgement perhaps in the light of your findings, but at least I'll be able to tell support its definitely not an sw problem). If indeed the problem persists I guess there won't be any other choice than to contact support again (But since I can't afford the computer not to be available for the coming 2 months I guess I'll have to bear it for the time being, which in turns also means I won't be able to let you know if it got fixed until I'm able to bring her in).
Oh and fyi, I also have a second hard-drive installed (Seagate Barracuda 500Gb, same as the factory installed primary one), but that cannot be the cause of the beeping, as I actually bought it because of this problem (to backup my important files while my Mac went in for service the first time). So we can't blame these poor drives for our problem .
Anyway, definitely thanks for chiming in (makes me feel a little bit better knowing that I'm at least not the only one experiencing this annoying problem, although obviously I wished I shouldn't have to feel better about this ) and I'll keep you updated on any further steps made towards solving this problem, even though it may take a while as explained above.
    Cheers!

  • Intermittent beeping sound from my PC internal speaker. How to disable it?

I have a HP Pavilion 1070d PC.  I get an intermittent beeping sound from my PC internal speaker.  It seems to engage when the hard drive starts working when it's been down for a while.  How do I disable the beeping sound?

    Domgoh, welcome to the forum.
Normally, the beeps that come from a computer are BIOS beep codes.  They are warnings that something is wrong with the computer.  At the bottom of the page in the link that I provided are codes for different motherboards.  Review them to see if this is what you are receiving.
