E66 GPS position/trip data in meters/km instead of...

My e66-2's GPS function works okay but it does not seem to be able to show me data in feet and miles instead of meters and kilometers. Has anyone found anyway around this? My phone is the USA version, firmware is still at 102.07.81.
Does some e66-1 owner with the newer firmware know if they fixed this oversight?

Solved!

Thank you. Classic case of Nokia burying the settings. It is not on any of the menus when you're inside any of the GPS screens (Navigation, Position, Trip), nor is it anywhere in the Tools...Settings... menu tree.
Instead it's on the first "GPS Data" screen. When you click Menu...GPS...GPS Data. Then click the left button for Options and there is a Settings screen.

  • Is your GPS position 50-100 meters off center?

For some reason, my GPS position is always 100 meters too far East. Anyone else have this problem?
Can I calibrate it so I can shift the GPS position West 100 meters?
Would the "Altitude Calibration" option in the GPS Data->Options help?
The GPS position on the Map is constantly jumping off the road and thinking I am on a side road or driving through houses or bush.
I am in Sydney Australian and downloaded the Eastern AUS maps through Map Loader, I was told we use WG584 or AUS66 or AUS84 GPS tracking in Sydney. Where can I set this up?

It seems that us in AUS/NZ need to configure the GPS so it uses AUS66 or AUS84 Datum, which I think is what our local Maps use. Since the N95 uses the new WG584 Datum, it does not align us properly to our older AUS66 or AUS84 based maps, causing our maps to be about 100m-200m too far East
"If you intend to use this technique ensure that your GPS is set to the global WGS84 datum, not one of the older local Australian datum's such as AUS66 or AUS84 upon which many existing maps are based. WGS84 is the standard for GPS and if you select another datum, the GPS does the conversion internally."

    More info - Google Search:
    http://www.google.com.au/search?q=AUS66+AUS84&btnG=Search&hl=en
Now the question is, can we set our N95 to use AUS66 or AUS84 ?
Or do Nokia need to update our Maps to align with WGS84?

  • Quickly extract GPS positioning data from an Image?

    Hi --
Is there any way to quickly extract the GPS positioning data (lat, long) for a Image in Aperture -- or, equivalently, open a Google Maps page in a Web browser showing the location?
    I tried:
    - every menu related to Places I could find
    - copying the info in the lat and long fields (can't be selected)
    - copying the info from the Lift & Stamp HUD (also can't be selected).
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.
    Thanks.

    Hi Kirby,
maybe one of my Automator Actions can help, until you have abetter solution:
    http://dreschler-fischer.de/scripts/PrintFullImageInfo.workflow.zip
This workflow needs to be installed in your user library, "Services" folder and will write selected metadata tags to a textfile.
    To use it,
select the images in Aperture's browser,
Use Aperture > Services > PrintFullImageInfo
When the service runs, it will prompt for the name of a textfile.
    Regards
    Léonie
You should find something similar to this in the textfile:
    Version Name: P1040669
       Dimensions: 1920x2560
Image Date: Monday, 6 March 2006Monday 2:10:58 PM
       Keywords: geocoded, iPhoto Original
Rating: 0, flagged: false, picked: true
Camera make: Panasonic, camera model: DMC-FZ5
       Focal Length: 11.0mm, Aperture: f/ 5.6, Shutter Speed: 0.0025s

There is no mobile data connection required to use GPS on land or sea. Once again your issue is the availability of downloadable maps/charts for the areas you will be traveling.
Sorry, but you can't install an app like NAVIGON on an iPad without 3G cellular data connection:
    copied from NAVIGON app:
...can be installed on any iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4S, iPhone5 or iPad device (the navigation function is only available on the iPad WiFi+3G)
Can I navigate with my mobile phone?
Answer:In principle yes. For mobile phones there are both Onboardnavigation solutions and Offboardnavigation solutions.
The following requirements must be fulfilled:
    •     The software must support the mobile phone. NAVIGON software
always comes with a compatibility list. The software is guaranteed
to work only for the mobile phones on this list.
    •     The mobile phone must have a GPS receiver. Many new mobile
phones come with a built-in GPS receiver. Otherwise you can use
an external GPS receiver which is connected to the mobile phone
           by cable or Bluetooth.
    •     It should be noted that an offboard solution incurs costs for using
the mobile phone network to communicate with the provider's server.

  • Want to block users from editing the trip data once it is transferred to FI

    Hi All,
We have a situation where users can change their trip data even when trip is transferred to FI.
I assume some authorization needs to be taken back from the users.
But Want to know the Details of that Authorization Object so that I can ask our User Access Management team to take necessary action.
Plz provide your valuable suggestions on the same.

    Hi,
Authorization object P_TRAVL and  authorization field AUTHF
Following Status should be given to user if editing is not allowed after posting to FI..
There is a parameter Operation and "Old Status" , its 3rd position shall NOT be 4

  • N8 - Web site and GPS Positioning

How do I allow a website to use the phones gps to locate me on a map. Can I allow specific websites or the browser in general to use the gps positioning.
Or is there some way that I can turn on the phones gps manually when the website asks?

The website I’m talking about is m.fisketegn.dk which is a danish fishing website. I push the map icon which you can see in attachment 1. It is then suppose to show my location on a map so that I can see if I’m fishing in a spot I’m not allowed to fish. But when I push the icon the pop up in attachment 2 shows up which says “You must activate the phone’s Gps/Wlan positioning to show map with your location” but when I push OK nothing happens. The Gps does not activate and it does not show my location on the map.
I’m not getting a pop up which asks if I allow it to access positioning data. That’s what happens on my brother’s Iphone. He clicked Ok to that and then it worked. I thought that I could find that in the settings somewhere so that I could allow that. I can’t remember if I at some point on some other website clicked No to allow it to access positioning data, but if I did I must be able to change that somehow. I know that I have not clicked No on this particular website. By the way I’m using the native browser.
I just tried it on Opera Mobile and it asked for permission to use positioning data but it only appears to use Wlan and not the Gps. But it does show my location on the map. But if it only uses Wlan and not the gps then the location is not accurate enough.

  • GPS positioning failure [nokia 5800XM]

    Hi all
    i need some help
my nokia 5800 xm gps isn't working properly
i get the signal but it always show my location is >850m from the place i stand
    pleasse help
what should i do to fix it?
i use FW v52.0.7 and ovi maps 3.6 beta

Just to elaborate on post by farby which is advocating use of Integrated GPS positioning method only, whilst this will work eventually it can take quite a while to establish very first positional lock and you probably need to be outdoors; this method is targetted at users whom don't have a generous data download and don't want to run up bill especially when roaming.
An discrepancy of this much in position usually indicative of a location determined by cell tower triangulation, before device has accurately locked on to satellites.
You might like to look in Menu > Applications > Location > Positioning > Positioning server > Podsitioning server use - check if correct network access point is defined 3G/GPRS
The WiFi/Network positioning method added from OVI Maps v3.04 on is similar to Maps Booster application which uses Skyhook, where the location of WiFi access points and cellular towers is logged on database; the more users whom participate means the system grows in accuracy.
Happy to have helped forum with a Support Ratio = 42.5

  • Layout and output S_AHR_61016403 - trip receipts without general trip data

    Hello all,
in the report S_AHR_61016403 - trip receipts without general trip data you can't select field name 'location' and 'business partner'. You can select it through a dynamic selection: shift + F4.
Nonetheless, when you run the report (F8) you still have to change the layout to have a display of 'location' and 'business partner'.
My question is why after altering all those settings, the fields are blank in the report.
I have checked with PR05 and table V_PTRV_SREC to see if those field were actually filled in. They were filled in and had values. So, i would like to know why this report doesn't take into account 'location' and 'business partner'? Are there more settings I have to alter?
    Thanks for looking into this.
    Regards,
    Pamela

    Hello Pamela,
If the values are there, it should also be there in the report.
Here is what you need to do:
Start the report -> select the fields in the layout -> save the layout list -> run the report again and this time under the "layout field" enter the layout name you have save on which the new fields are define.

Her employee number 29500569 come by default and it cannot be deleted . do you know how can unblock this field?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Lupa,
Please clarify your requirement.  As I understand, this staff member's personnel number automatically populates in the said report criteria.
    1. Need to know SAP version ?
    2. Whether or not this designated staff member running the report or someone else running ?
    3. What is the profile given to this designated staff member.
    4. Whether or not you require this designated staff member to run the report for few/all company codes ?
Please provide more info to be able to suggest.

  • Never can obtain GPS Position

I just got my Nokia 6700 Classic and I wanted for an hour and the phone is still waiting for GPS Position! I used to have Eten X500 Windows Mobile PDA phone with 10 to 30 sec I am able to obtain the GPS Position even in my home. Is there any solution for my Nokia 6700 Classic GPS capability? Nokia pls help!

Thank you aspergerguy for the link. My issue unfortunately is not with disabling the A-GPS, but how to get a location after.
I've disabled a-gps and any network access, but cannot get a GPS location using the Ovi Maps software. I only get the message "waiting for GPS position" but even after an hour I don't get a lock on my position. I've tried all the usual:
    - placing the phone in the open
    - not touching the phone while searching as not to disrupt the GPS tracker
but no matter what I do, the phone can't find my possition.
I am using the latest version available on Nokia Ovi Suite software and have the corresponding maps installed for my region.
Unfortunately there aren't a lot of options left, except that the internal GPS is not functioning. I was hoping there was something else I could try...

  • Do the iPhone 4 give the gps position over personal hotspot to an iPad 2 wifi only?

    Hello
I want to buy an iPad 2 wifi only.
I have already an iPhone 4.
Do the iPhone 4 give the gps position over personal hotspot to an iPad 2 wifi only?
So I don't need to buy a iPad 2 wifi+3G only for the GPS.
    Thanks.

I have a WiFi only iPad1. I use a Verizon MIFI 2200 hotspot device that is about the size of a larger, thicker credit card. It easily fits into a shirt pocket. It does not connect to the iPad by any cable whatsoever. It is a free standing device. You can connect up to five devices at a time with the 2200. However, like any cell phone, 3G, wireless connection like this, in some areas the reception/connection is great - in other places - not so much. Sort of the anti - "can you hear me now?"

Hello: I am using OSX 10.9.3 Lightroom Version 5.4 Camera Sony A77...Problem: importing the foots form chip or from the camera the GPS-position is not shown in lightroom. Using the bridge there they are. What have I do do? Thanks

Please read this: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
You do not want to be in the Import section of Lightroom, you want to be in the Library Module. You don't want "Update Folder Location", you want to ctrl-click on a Folder name (not in Import, but in the Library Module Folder Panel) and select "Find Missing Folder"
You do not want to re-import photos that have already been imported, this is almost always a bad thing to do.

  • Can I use GPS while the data and cellular networks are turned off?

Here's the deal: I am traveling on the Alaska Highway from Alaska, through Canada, to the lower 48 states. AT&T has advised me that while I am in Canada I will be charged 79 cents a minute for airtime and 2 cents per kilobyte for data. Ouch. Given this, I intend to turn my iPhone on "airplane mode" while in Canada, so I don't accidently fetch mail, or do some other thing which would load data at the cost of 2 cents per KB.
BUT! I would like to be able to take pictures with my iPhone 3G and have them tagged with location by the GPS. Everything I have read indicates that GPS is turned off when the phone is in Airplane Mode.
So, my question is: can I still retain access to GPS for my photos while turning off all other radios in my phone? With the new Places feature in iPhoto, I'd really hate to have 2,000 miles worth of photos and no location data to go with them, ya know?

Tamara, thank you. Of course I already did that, and no, they are not geotagged. Which is why I specifically phrased my question, "can I still retain access to GPS for my photos while turning off all other radios in my phone?"
In other words, is there SOME WAY--ANY WAY--to turn GPS back on, like you can with Wi-Fi? Or maybe there is some way, any way, to turn off all the cellular functions only, while leaving the GPS receiver on?
I am aware of the "Data Roaming" setting in the Network settings. I have always had that turned off, but I cannot experiment with that setting, as I am not in an area where roaming would occur.
I'm just hoping to avoid a surprise huge bill due to GPS grabbing some data or relying somehow on the cellular network, and am hoping to know if anyone has any experience with these issues. At 2 cents per KB, an average email would cost $1 to download. I have no idea what kind of data flies back and forth when GPS is used, or if the ONLY data received by GPS is from the navsat system. I seem to recall that iPhone GPS also relied somewhat on cellular data, though for photo geotagging it probably shouldn't have to.
I apologize if I was not clear in my questions.
Thanks so much for your help!
