id like to know who has a nokia e66, performed the v.500 upgrade and has GPS that doesn't work anymore after doing the upgrade, am i the only one?? what did the new upgrade changed? how to fix this??? i did all i could think of.. format memory card, reset phone, reinstall firmware etc etc. before upgrade it was working like a charm, getting signal fast and all. tried to enable and disable a-positioning, etc etc, resetted, removed battery etc etc.... and i upgraded the firmware with Nokia Ovi Suite for the note.. so the "good" stuff.

Hi I am also having the same problem.  I upgraded my firmware to version 500.21.009 and my gps is not working.  Anyone has a solution to this problem.  Will the latest firmware upgrade resolve this issue?
@famous007
Presumably you have this version of Ovi Maps installed upon your E66:http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-download#/nokia-e66/
If you go to Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Positioning > Positioning methods - try temporarily disabling all except Integrated GPS, go outside away from tall buildings if feasible launch Ovi Maps and wait 20 - 30 minutes for first positional fix to be established.

  • T410i SSD user and master password problem after firmware upgrade

    Hello.
I have problem with my Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD. After firmware upgrade of SSD my master and user HDD passwords are no longer valid. I'm stuck on BIOS screen and cannot unlock my SSD. After firmware upgrade procedure i got BSOD. Same happened during firmware upgrade on my previous SSD (INTEL X25-M 80GB) but after restart everything was OK. Please help!
    Previous firmware version: 1.3
    Current firmware version: 1.3.3
SSD connected to another computer shows RAW partition data, but firmware version is 1.3.3 - seems like update was successful.

My X301 Intel x18 got bricked also after a BIOS update then secure erase (was going to sell it). I plugged it to a USB kit and onto a desktop and it was recognised and able to format. But plugging it back to the lenovo it is still a brick. My lucky star there was warranty it was replaced by lenovo.
You may want to try it and extract the data, if it works. And hopefully you can still format it and made it work pluggin back to the lenovo.

  • E 72 GPS and E-mail problem after firmware upgrade...

Hi - to all the gurus out there,
    1. i upgraded my firmware to 31.023. Now My GPS (whether using Ovi Maps or Google Maps) locks only at home ( probably the place of my last GPS lock before the upgrade- my guess). Tried many times but it simply refuses to lock anywhere else.-- annoying - someone help please
    2. The mail client has become unbearably slow and doesnt update using 3G or GPRS anymore. I checked all access points selections and everything else in settings. In fact except for WLAN, its become a `Non e-mail capable` phone.
    3. Skype only lets me IM now??????? weird!!
4.Snaptu only logs in on WLAN.
    5. and last but not the least.. in the chat setup. the keyboard doesnt work anymore.
    waiting for some help
    thanks

Ok, Now the GPS seems to have resolved itself after I deselected `Network Assisted`, but initial lock time seems much longer. Maybe that was the problem.

  • WRT610N problems after firmware upgrade to 1.00.03.15

I've been using my WRT610N (hardware version 1) for years running firmware version 1.00.00.18.
I always used the 5Ghz SSID from laptops, iPad and iPhone and never bothered about the 2.4Ghz SSID.
Due to more frequent "cannot connect to <5Ghz SSID>" problems recently I decided to upgrade to the latest firmware version (1.00.03.15). Immediately since this firmware upgrade, the 5Ghz SSID is invisible to all devices except (strangely) my iPad. All other devices see only the 2.4 Ghz SSID.
I've tried switching channels etc. but to no avail.
Clearly, the firmware upgrade is the only thing here that changed but I'm at a loss to get the 5Ghz SSID back into action.
Anyone has an idea what's wrong here? The only remedy I can think of is to revert back to the old firmware version but somehow that feels wrong.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rob V.

Try setting 5GHz network as "Wireless-N only" instead of MIXED. That should help resolve this issue.

  • N78 GPS problems after firmware update

I have just updated my N78 firmware to 13.052. Before the upgrade the GPS worked really well but after it struggles to lock on and hold position. It took an hour to find satellites earlier and as soon as i picked the phone up it lost its position.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?
Is it possible to reload the previous firmware?

    I had the same experience.
Yesterday roaming across forums I saw a post suggesting a phone reset as simple as tooking out the battery for ten seconds and restarting the phone.
Well, I opened the back cover, took out the battery for around ten seconds and closed the phone being careful to align the pins of the internal GPS antenna to the back cover  GPS antenna.
Then I restarted the phone and after two minutes it sees four satellites, and after five minutes nine satellites, completing the fix in less than five minutes.
Today, the GPS is still working (I tried the fix ten minutes ago with the same times).
Therefore, I consider the problem solved.
Moreover, the internal GPS now works also with Google Maps, and this according to my opinion demonstrates that probably the problem is not Nokia Maps 3.0 , because I am using Nokia Maps 3.0 and Map Loader 3.0 .

  • Problems after firmware upgrade to 3.2.10.30101

I have just updated my Iomega Home Network Drive (Cloud Edition) to 3.2.10.30101. How I wish I had looked at this forum before I did!  Had the same problem as described elsewhere during the firmware update with never getting past the "Restarting" message.
On start-up now the network drive is not visible until, as suggested by Steven_Lenovo in other related discussions, th e network cable is removed and reconnected. Then it is visible to Windows Explorer and can be "pinged".  So no data loss - hurrah!
However, when starting up the EMC Storage Manager interface I cannot get to the Home Screen (I get the "Restarting" Page) unless I wait for around about an hour, and it is only after an hour that the white power light stops flashing.
Pointless submitting a ticket as I have had my network drive too long, but maybe someone can come up with a better fix than re-plugging the network and waiting for an hour every day, and If not, maybe it will make people think twice before installing this upgrade (and earlier ones looking at the number of post-firmware update problems).
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello LesleyG franmart,
Is the unit fully booting? It should have a solid white power led once fully booted.
If the unit is not fully booted, the web interface will not fully load and usually show a progress bar or a restart message
If the unit is taking a very long time to boot, but does eventually finish you may want to try the following if you have not already.
    Do a hard reset
To do this (This is not Data Destructive):
#1. Press and hold down the reset button for 4 seconds.
#2. Then remove the power cord while still holding the reset button.
#3. Wait about 5 seconds and then plug the power cord back in while still holding the reset button.
#4. Release the reset button after 4 more seconds.
    Cycle the unit.
    #1 Turn of the device
    #2 Disconnect the network cable
    #3 Turn on the device
#4 Wait a few minutes then connect the network cable
Connect the device directly to a computer
    #1 Turn off the device
#2 Disconnect the network cable from the router and plug it direct into the computer
    #3 Turn on the device
#4 Allow for the unit to boot up
#5 Open the command prompt or terminal on your computer
Command Prompt (PC) : Start > "cmd" in the search (no quotes)
Terminal (Mac) : Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal
#6 Run the following Command arp -a (there is a space between both)
#7 Look for a Physical Address starting in 00-d0-b8 and there should be an IP Address associated with that.
That IP Address will be where the device is located and you should be able to access the web interface by
typing that IP into your browser.
If the above doesn't help, a full factory reset from the web interface or firmware reimaging may be needed.
Contact the Lenovo Support by phone or chat to request the USB imager (This is data destructive).
Please ensure that you have processed any and all data recovery or backup attempts before you proceed to
    this option.

  • Nokia 5800 XM: Problems after firmware upgrade

    Hello all,
I upgraded my firmware to V 50.0.005, cause that's what Ovi store told me to do in order to download ovi maps.
However, now, when I open my internet browser it automatically opens full screen which is really not my preference. But when I click "options" it just shuts down.
Also when I enter Ovi store now, at first it seems fine but after loading an app page it crashes saying no more than "Something went wrong".
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, I'm afraid I don't have an anser to this, but I too appear to have the same problem. After upgrading to v 50.0.005 I get the following problems relating to web browsing. 1. If I attempt to download anything I get the following error :- Script alert: A critical internal service has failed. after which I click on OK and the browser/application shuts down (and the connection closes). This happens when web browsing e.g. when attempting to download a BBC podcast or using the Ovi Store application to download something. Also it happens whether I'm using my provider's 3G network or a wireless network. 2. If in the browser I click on "options" the browser shuts down. I admit that in order to get Ovi Maps I have previously debranded my phone in order to get the necessary firmware updates, but I haven't had this problem with any of the previous ones. FWIW the Ovi Maps application appears to work well and manage to keep the internet connection up for a long period when online. Does anyone else have this problem? Can anyone suggest anything or will we simply have to hape that the next firmware update comes quickly and cures the problem? Thanks in advance.

  • Problems after firmware upgrade befw11s4!

I just upgraded to firmware 1.52 to try and get my wireless network working better with my vista laptop. It has caused nothing but trouble. The router keeps going offline and I have to keep reseting it! I really do not want to shop for a new one!
    Thanks,
    Brian in MI

Did the reset thing several times. I have since rolled the firmware back and reset a few times. I can only connect to the wireless on this router now with security disabled. I have tried all the channels and different security settings to no avail. There can be only one solution now and that is to buy a newer router and I am sorry to say it won't be a linksys. Thanks for the replies.

  • Problems after firmware upgrade to 7.6.3

Just want to report that updating to 7.6.3 caused my router to loose LAN and WiFi connection about 15 times in a week. I never had problems before and only reason I went to 7.6.3 was to be able to use DLNA at my home; however, these connectivity issues forced me to go back to previous firmware version 7.6.1 which does not support DLNA.  Note that since I bought my airport express over a year ago I never had problems.
If it helps in any way, the devices I have connected are: 2 Windows 7, 1 Windows Vista, 1 MacBookPro, 1 iPad, 2 iPhones, 1 TV over wifi, 1 TV over LAN, and a apple TV.

I had the same problem going to 7.6.2 from 7.6.1.
Going back to 7.6.1 took care of the frequent disconnects. I haven't tried 7.6.3 yet.

  • PC-Suite sync fails after Firmware upgrade of E65

After firmware upgrade of E65 PC-Suite stops syncing Calendar & Contacts from outlook. No error messages, just "0 entries has been updated".
    - PC-Suite updated to 7.0.9.2
    - Outlook 2003
    - XP Prof.
    Any ideas?

The funny thing is - the notes are synced???? If I restore some old contacts they'll double up in outlook, so I think the problem is, that the sync app doesn't see the outlook contact & calendar folder.
    Does somebody has an idea?

    DataSource problems after BW upgrade

Problem exists throughout, both with generic and standard DataSources.
    Here is one specific example:
    Generic DataSource ZXXXXXXXX
InfoPackage "ZXXXXXXXX(ZXXXXXXXX)" does not run. Error:
    DataSource ZXXXXXXXX(SOURCESYS) must be activated
    Message no. RSDS179
    Then followed these steps:

    Hi,
Just to help the folks out here.
    In my case,
Inspite of going through several valid NOTES & program, my issue didnt resolve (you reply was pretty accurate - but dint help me :-)).
I have resolved the issue by adjusting the PSA table for the same.
    Procedure:
Take the psa name  --> go to table rstsods --> find the ODSNAME_TECH name for the relevant psa  --> se38 t.code --> enter ODSNAME_TECH and click on 'adjust & activate database table' (make sure you have selected 'save data' radio button.
Just in case anyone who come across this problem, can do the above steps.
    Regards,
    Dubbu.

I installed iOS 5.0.1 on my Iphone 3GS. I never can not write in my calendar. Anyone else having this problem after their upgrade?

I was going to suggest - Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings, but if you are restoring to factory settings, that should restore the settings back to factory defaults. But if you are restoring from a backup, after restoring to factory settings, try resetting all of the settings and see if that fixes it.
It might be something in your backup.

  • Crippled 192.168.1.1 page after firmware upgrade

    hi,
i recently upgraded the firmware of my WRT160N V2 to 2.0.03.
but since then when i login i get a crippled page on 192.168.1.1 with not even a menu. so i cant even downgrade. is there something i can do?

It is good to know that the issue is resolved
After firmware upgrade it is always recommended to reset and reconfigure the router and I think that is why you were unable to see the menu on the setup page of your router.

  • I have a mac, would like to upgrade to mountain lion from mac os x, anybody experienced any problems after this upgrade, thanks

i have a mac, would like to upgrade to mountain lion from mac os x, anybody experienced any problems after this upgrade, thanks

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) model number 7,1 or higher
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) model number 2,1 or higher
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Xserve (Early 2009) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
If you can/do upgrade, I recommend you make a copy of the installer and move it out of your Applications folder. The installer self-destructs. The copy will keep you from having to download the installer again.  You can make a bootable DVD/USB stick to install using this free program.
Bootable Drive DVD or USB Flash Drive – Lion Diskmaker
Our 2 computers haven't experienced any significant problems, even though others have. I find it much better than 10.7 Lion, which I used for a week before reverting to 10.6.8
Mavericks is supposed to be released this fall, so you may want to wait.

  • No power after firmware upgrade on nomad jukebox zen xtra

I have the nomad jukebox zen xtra 30gig that froze up over a year ago after i tried to install the firmware upgrade. After the unsuccessful attempt, the mp3 player stopped working.... I mean no power at all. I've changed the battery and recharged the battery from an outside source...still no luck. I can't even try any of the suggestions anyone gives on this site because I have no power.Does anyone have this problem? More important, does anyone have this problem and know of a solution?I've already set my pc back to wmp 0, I have the firmware on the desktop waiting. Now all I need is some power on this unit so that i can try some of the suggestions that seems to be working for people. Thank you

I have the same problem too, but my unit is a?Creative Normad Junebox Zen Xtra 40GB. I was trying to find a solution to my problem when I read about your problem. I have pressed the reset button, on / off switch, removed the battery, reinstalled the battery, and nothing seems to work. I was hoping you?might get a solution to this problem, so that I might be able to fix my MP3 player. If I hear of a solution, I will let you know, thanks for sharing. Issue:? While updating the firmware to the Zen Xtra 40 GB, the unit powered down and?has never came on again. There seems to be no real reason why the unit should not power up. The battery and the AC adapter are working correctly. I am very disappointed in Creative...
