E66: "Lock if SIM card changed" menu is missing?

Hello everyone!
I have an E66 device and I haven't found Lock if SIM card changed option in the Settings/General/Security/Phone and SIM card menu. Does anybody knows how can I enable this feature? Is it removed from this device - or automatically enabled?
Thanks in advance,
Zoley

you can reset your handset back to factory by turning off the handset, remove battery cover and battery, open handset and hold CTRL+Shift+F and re insert the battery at the same time continuing to hold this key combination down, the nokia logo will show on the internal screen and then it will turn grey and ask if you wish to confirm the format, choose yes and the format will load and the handset will re-boot. Unfortunatly all of your data will be lost but will get your handset working again.
doing this is a little tricky so be prepared to try more than once

  • Lock if sim card Changed

    Hi Guys,
I have a Nokia 9500 symbian operating system phone and have enabled the "lock if sim card changed" option. And now when I put a new sim to my phone it gets locked and for unlocking request the password or even when I put back my old sim and try to off the setting of sim change it requests for password. And unfortunately I have forgotten the password; and please don't bombard me that whey enbled this option and give password if I can't remember it; actually it's first time I have forgotten a password. So does anyone know how to off this option and use other sims in my cellphone.
    Thanks,

  • Lost CONTACT list after SIM card change requested by operator

Dear All, this is my first post, so please bear with me.  I am recurring to this forum to ask for HELP on an issue that is really annoying, specially after spending over an hour with a BlackBerry Support Person who tried many steps to solve the issue without any luck [it was obvious this person did not have the technical expertise to handle the problem at hand].  Here's the story:  Last week I received on the mail a new SIM card with a letter indicating I had to replace my "old" SIM card with this new one, after receiving a text message from the operator.  On Friday I received the SMS and proceeded with the change.  Prior to exchanging SIM Cards, I asked the Call Center Agent if this would cause any problems with my 8520 BB.  The answer was NO, all the configuration info remains on the device, and not on the SIM card.  Well, this was not the case and some applications lost their configuration: email and contacts. Curiously, the BBM service was unaltered.  So I would like to know how can I get back my Contact List? (the email service was quickly and easily reconfigured).  Apparently my old Contact list is somewhere in the Device's memory... but a New Contact List has been created after the SIM Card change.  I know this because when I press the Call History, all the contacts' info is available ... but when pressing the Contacts Address I can only see 1 contact.  Any ideas???? Thank You All.

This is a fun little (and I mean little) problem. Let's walk through it here.
    1) Some applications lost email and contact configurations.
    A) I'm not entirely sure what you mean in particular as far as the email problem goes. Were the e-mails still set up, but you weren't receiving them? Most likely because the new SIM card contained a new ID number. If you were to go to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Tables, press the menu button, and hit Register...that should fix your problem there.
    2) BBM Service was unaltered.
    A) This is because the BBM service is reliant on the PIN number unique to your device (not your SIM card).
    3) Lost contact list, but still showing in the call history.
    A) Your call history is just data stored on the device, the only time your contact history is access when sending and making a call is just a simple check to see if you have the information stored already to match a name to it. The data stored in history is it's own entity. I explained this in a slightly confusing manner, but it's slightly irrelevant.
It's entirely possible that your contact list was stored on your SIM card and not to your device. Try this out:
-Insert your old SIM card into your phone
-Open up your contacts and hit the menu button
-Scroll down and select "SIM Phone Book"
-Here you should see the list of contacts if they were truly stored on your SIM and not your phone.
-Hit the menu button again, and choose "Copy all to Contacts"
Once the process is complete,  you may reinsert the new SIM card and continue on using the phone as normal.
    Hope this helps!
Disclaimer: I'm just a regular user like the rest of you. I have spent a lot of time learning the limitations of the Blackberries to know how to fix most problems. If I have suggested a fix, please give a kudo and mark as a solution!

  • Each time I turn off my Maxx, it locks the SIM card, need PUK to unlock

Each time I have to turn my Maxx off, it locks the SIM card and needs the PUK number to unlock it.  I'm so sick of this.  Can anyone please help me?  TYIA!

    Hello Matthew,
When I got my phone, I wanted to lock it so it required the 4 digit PIN code to get into it. I did that, using the "Set up SIM card lock" function, and, I just checked "SIM card lock settings" and it has a check mark beside "Require PIN to use phone".  It has never been set up for encryption.  I've only had it a few weeks.  I never tried to set up encryption, nor did I do anything that made the PUK number be required after my phone has been turned off.  It just started after I'd had it a couple of weeks.  I'm going to be traveling by plane quite often, and will have to turn off my phone.  I'm not sure what to do at that point.  Any help you can give me will be most appreciate!
    Thank you!!

  • Locked iphone SIM card

I have an iPhone 3GS. Originally, it was locked on a certain Canadian carrier (Rogers). It's been unlocked and I'm using a different carrier now (Fido). I'm going to be getting a new Rogers SIM card soon and I want to be able to update the firmware. If I re-lock the phone (so that I can update the Firmware), can any Rogers SIM card work or does it have to be the original SIM card that was in the phone before it was unlocked?
    Thanks in advance!

Only solution would be to contact AT&T and see if they will unlock your phone for you.  If they don't, then you will have to buy an unlocked phone, or a phone locked to Greek carrier.

  • Iphone 4s facetime no longer works after sim card change

    Hi Folks,
Having had issues with my SIM card (I was getting invalid SIM daily) my provider swapped the SIM and ported the number to a new card.
Since doing this however Facetime no longer works or the find iphone ability through iCloud - just says that its not available. Phone is
working fine on everything else. Is there some sort of registration I need to go through with the new SIM card?
    Thanks in advance

  • Sim card keeps locking

Hi, my husband has just changed telcos and every time he turns his iPhone 4s off it locks his SIM card which means that every time he turns it on again he has to unlock the SIM card before he can use his phone.  We rang the telco and as seems to be quite normal for offshore telcos these days they 'passed the buck' they told us that it wasn't their fault and that we would have to take it up with Apple. (Problem is, we have run out of technical support with Apple and we can't ring them. Why do telcos always try to 'pass the buck' instead of solving their own problems!)
    Thanks for your thoughts, Natalia

If the SIM is locking, then that would explain why you cannot make or receive calls. If you go to settings, phone, and scroll down to SIM PIN, is that turned on? If it is turned off and the SIM contines to ask for a password, then I suggest a reset and/or restore. Those would be the only options that I can think of regarding the SIM lock. As far as connection to your car, and I realize the language barrier here, I guess you mean to connect to your car's audio via bluetooth? Does the car support handsfree telephone? If so, you need to put the iPhone into the search mode. Go to settings, general, bluetooth and turn the bluetooth on so it can pair. You will need to have it see the car audio after it is put into discovery mode. If you are trying to transfer contacts to the car, it may not work. It only seems to work on some vehicles. Also, the bluetooth profile in your vehicle may not be compatible with the iPhone. Because there are a number of bluetooth profiles out there, yours MAY not be supported.

  • If you enter your password on the ipad too many times and your sim card locks, is there a way of recovery without replacing the sim card?

If you enter your password on the ipad too many times and your sim card locks, is there a way of recovery without replacing the sim card?

That doesn't lock the SIM card, it just locks you out of the device.
If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

  • Does iPhone 5 sim card size and shape are changed?

About the sim card size and shape, there are some web sites talk about new micro - nano.....what ever sim cards for the new iPhone 5, I searched the details in the official Appel site there was no any topics about this issue, now I want the truth form any one knows it, is the sim card changed? or it is the same as for iPhone 4 and 4s?

Yes sim card size is changed, iPhone 5, 5c and 5s supports a nano sim which is slightly shorter than micro sim which is used in iPhone 4 and 4s so you have to trim your sim or you can get a new one

My phone switches from 4g to no signal over and over. I had the SIM card changed and this doesn't help. What else can I do?

Take it to an Apple Store for an evaluation. One of our company phones was doing this despite all troubleshooting steps and Apple ended up replacing it.
