E66 .wav file attachment download

On the E51 and E65 when an email attachment that is a .wav file was downloaded, the phone would allow playback immediately without saving or any other action. On the E66 as with the N95 the file comes up with the attachment but will not allow it to be immediately played. The only way that I have been able to figure out playing the attachemtn is to save it to the phone internally in "sound clips". I must then go to sound clips and play the file from there after downloading and saving. There must be a better wa to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Trung,
Try disabling plug-ins in Chrome and see if it works, if works you can pin-point out the exact plug-in causing the issue.
Type this in the chrome browser's address bar:

Chrome: Attachments save as attachment.ashx and a number

  • IPhone email WAV file attachment

Hello. My company uses a system for voicemail, that will send an email to me with an attached WAV file with the voicemail in it.
When I check the email and then select the WAV file attachment to play, it pops up with an error that says "this movie could not be played".
I have researched this and noticed that the WAV file that is sent as an attachment is ecoded with "ACM Waveform". The only WAV file encoding that I found works on the iPhone is "PCM Windows".
Is there any way to be able to listen to the ACM WAV file? Anyone know of a fix?
WAV files encoded with ACM, ADPCM and PCM all play fine in iTunes. WAV files encoded with DVI do not however. Yet only the PCM encoded file will play on the iPhone.
    Any suggestions?

Sure you can. I can send myself emails with WAV files and they open fine using the media player on the iPhone, provided they are encoded with Windows PCM. Anything else does not work.
That is my issue. The WAV files that my system sends me are encoded with ACM. I need them to be PCM.

  • File attachment download problem with Chrome

    hi,
I've been searching for a cure to this problem for days without success. Hopefully someone here will help me fix this annoying problem.
    The problem:
    1. First: When using Chrome (lastest as of today) to open an attachment in emails, Chrome
always saves the file as download.xyz where xyz is the extension.
    2. Second: Sometimes it saves the file extension correctly, sometimes it just changes to something else like htm, ashx,... where the correct extension should be .doc or .xls.
I find this only happen with MS Office attachment files. Other browsers like Firefox, IE work just fine.
What is the problem and possible solution/work around for this?
We are using MS Exchange 2010 btw.
    Thank you

  • Wav file attachements

My home VOIP system notifies me with an email that voice mail has been received and attaches the voice mail message as a wav attachment. Is there any way of listening to these wav attachemnts on my iPhone? Thanks

At this time playing WAV files from attachments is not possible. You may want to Submit feedback on this and put in a request for it to be a added feature.

  • Unable to open a .wav file attached to email.

When I click on an attached .wav file in an email it launches a player of some sort, appears to load the file, then displays the error "There was an error playing the file."
According to the tech. specs, .wav files are supposed to be compatible.
    Anyone have any ideas?

I was able to play a WAV sent to me via email. I have Vonage and it sends voicemails to my email as WAV files; these files work fine for me.

  • Cannot play .wav files attached to email

I see on page 50 of the iPhone manual that .wav files are supported, however, they do not play. The error I get is "this movie format not supported". Does anyone have an answer that will help me?
    Thanks!

did you find a resolution for this? I have the same issue on my business wav email accounts, but my home wav email account works fine.

  • Unity Connections - can I save my voicemail message locally as a .wav file?

Is this possible and if so how?
I am running Unity Connections v7 on a CMBE system.
If I have IMAP setup, is the message attached, or is it a link?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steven

    Steven,
Yes, this is most definitely possible. If you have IMAP set up then you are using "Integrated Messaging" and your email client is configured as an IMAP client with Unity Connection as the IMAP server. You may or may not be using the ViewMail plugin for your email client. If you are using ViewMail, the default behavior is that the media control used to play the voicemail message provides the option to "save as" a WAV file. If you don't have the ViewMail control loaded, then the file is simply seen as a WAV file attachment and will be played using a desktop media play that the user has selected to play files with the .WAV attachment.

  • WAV Files on IPHONE

    I have a IPAD2 and a IPHONE 4S.
I can listen to a WAV file attached to an email on my Ipad. But I can't listen to the same WAV file on my Iphone.  Is there a setting I have missed?

You need to obtain and install a 3rd Party app from the iTunes App Store to enable listening to .WAV files on your iPhone.
    Hope this helps

  • My Safari quits unexpectedly while trying to open attached files or download?

I had that problems once. My friend reinstalled My IMac for me. It worked. But now it is happening again. Safari quits unexpectedly while I am trying to open attached files or download anything. I hate that. I want that to never happen again. And I don't actually know how to reinstall the system. I am afraid of doing smthing wrong. So I have to call apple or my friend. What  is the easiest way and solution for that? What is the reason for this problem?
    Thank you.

    Try the following:
    1. Shutdown the computer and then start it up again, see if Safari repeats the problem.
    2. Consider the source file, if it is just one or the same ones all the time but other open, the files are the problem and not Safari.
    3. Run a permissions repair on the mac. Do this via Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility and select the hard drive (Second Icon with the Hard Drive Name, not the one showing the drive size above it) in the left pane and in the bottom middle click on permissions repair, don'yt worry you won't break the computer.

  • Playing a .wav file from email attachment

I am trying to play a .wav file that is attached to an email, and i get "The document conversion failed". Am I missing something? What do I need to do to be able to play .wav files that are sent to me via email?

    I have the same request.
We have a new Panasonic phone system that sends out .wav voicemail files.
Our company's Curve's play the wav fine.
Our company's BOLDs ... DO NOT.

  • Files always download as "attachment.ashx" instead of the file name and file type that they actually are.

Since I have installed the new version of Firefox (version 8.0), every single file I download is downloaded as "attachment.ashx" and won't open. I have to change the name as well as the file type in order to open the document.
This happens regardless of if I'm downloading from email, from a website, etc.. All of the files I have downloaded also have already been named and had file types appended, but Firefox is changing them every single time. I have never had this problem before using the same sites and downloads.

Please hurry up with a solution! This is causing havoc, as I cannot open any attachments at all! It defaults to Adobe Photoshop, and then I get an error message that it is the wrong type of file. These are all Word docs! I can't get my work done! Is there some kind of work around that I can use in the meantime to open these things?

  • Pre does not play WAV file when received as an attachment via email

I get my office voicemails emailed to me as an attachment but when I click on the attachment it goes to open the file to play but then it says that there was an error playing the file. Do i have to change a setting? Please help. Thank you!

I spoke to palm support they say they are aware of the problem at this time the pre doesn't support the wav file for voice mail . It is very important to me and I have been using this feature on my blackberry and my palm 755p I don't under stand why they would release a phone and not have the needed software for it .
