Hey Frnds Ovi Store Is Working.............yupppyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Finally it installed on my c7 and n8 too......
What should hv to do(for those whose ovi is unable to install):
    * just Format your phone via *#7370#
    * And after that no need to install any qt etc software, just check for SW update in your device.
    * And it will show an update of ovi store about 15 MB .
    * Thats it.
why it was not showing an update before?
ans. because i hv installed qt 4.7 and qt webkit.so SW update wasn't showing any update.
I will request admin to move this thread to Solution section...
thanx to every one 4 repling

  • Reset Ovi Store User Settings

I wonder if there's a workaround to delete the Ovi Store user settings (a specific folder maybe)? I tried to uninstall and reinstall Ovi Store but my settings do not get deleted (ie. my username is still stored).
    Thanks for your help

    @deadprincess
Unfortunately upon N8 at least irrespective of whether device "hard reset" or firmware re-flashed the username of the first user continues to popup requesting confirmation!

  • Device: iPad 2. Problem: since iOS 7.0.2 upgrade I can't open iTunes Store. I've done hard reset to no avail. Everything else works fine! What's the safe fix?

Is anyone having trouble opening ITunes Store on IPad 2 (or other apple devices) since the latest upgrade? Mine worked for about five minutes after upgrade, and then it would not open up any longer giving me the message: "CANNOT CONNECT TO STORE"I, but I can connect to the Apps store. I synced my devices. I have latest soft wear updates on my PC and IPad. Everything worked fine before upgrade. I did a hard reset. My wifi connection was checked and rechecked. I had enough storage at the time of the upgrade. I'm not computer savvy, so please speak computer for dummies language should you be so kind to respond. Thank you in advance.

    Hello LDinaz,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the iTunes Store on your iPad 2.  For the issue you are experiencing, I recommend signing out and back into the iTunes Store on your iPad 2:
    Changing your Apple ID account
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in.
Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID.
The last step states to sign in with another account, but for the situation you described, I recommend just signing in with your same Apple ID.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store Apple ID account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311
If the issue persists after signing out and back in, I recommend following the iOS steps in the section titled "Isolate the issue: (Mac OS X, Windows, iOS)" in the following article (you can skip any steps you have already taken):
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting

  • My itouch is asking me for answers to security questions that I never answered and it won't let me buy anything from the iTunes store.  I tried a hard reset to original settings but it still asks for answers.

My daughter's itouch (registered to my apple account) is asking for answers to security questions that I never answered and it won't let her buy anything from the iTunes store.  I tried a hard reset to original settings but it still asks for answers.  How do I reset the security questions or get rid of them appearing altogether?  I can purchase apps on my phone (same apple account) and it doesn't ask me for security questions.

    See Kappy's previous discussion.

  • Apps frozen in transition after apple genius bar did a hard reset, cant get thru app store either

Went to apple genius bar after 6 hours of trying to fix iphone 4s: couldn't send/rec photo txt msgs, get voicemail alerts, update software upgrades or back up files in icloud. They did a hard reset and fixed those issues, however the majority of my apps are frozen in either blank grey boxes or dim grey boxes with app icon showing, they saved my contacts to icloud and pics to dropbox (which is now a frozen app that I can't access). Does anyone know what my next step is? I have only had the phone 6 months and don't wanna re buy but I use for work too so need to know whats going on? Also tried to install totally different app from app store and couldn't.

    Hi there 80sbaby1!
I have an article here that can help you with the grey apps that you are seeing. It appears that those apps may not have fully re-downloaded onto your iPhone, and this article will provide some insight into resuming those downloads:

I also have a website for you that can help you with some steps for troubleshooting that may resolve this issue. The website is an iPhone troubleshooting assistant, and can be found right here:

Notice the footnote markers by the links tothe carriers support sites (the superscript '3').

  • Problem updating ovi store and downloading whatsap...

When i try to open ovi store on my x2-01 it tells me to update it before i would be able to download it and when i try it always tells me page not found.my other problem is when i try to download any software e.g whatsapp application using my phone it tells page not found i have restore it factory setting but am still having the same problem please what should i do because i really love to use other softwares e.g whatsapp

Unfortunately that is one of the outstanding issues with the current firmware in the N8, E7 and C7. The hard reset does not reinstall Qt which is required for the apps you mentions. See this.
    /t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/N8-Maps-problem-after-hard-reset/td-p/783327
Although it is possible to reinstall Qt, the process is highly complicated and should only be atempted by expert users. My suggestion would be to either get your phone reflashed at your local Nokia Care Point or to wait for the next firmware up[date which will hopefully include a fix for this.

  • Problem install ovi store and ovi maps?

my phone nokia C7 can not turn on, then I use a three finger salute to hard reset, and my phone can turn on again, but social networking application, ovi store and ovi maps are lost, I tried installing again, but always "unable to install", while applications else could, what happened? what should I do? I want to install it again.

  • Ovi Store update v2.12.033 on N8 failed to work

I have updated Ovi Store 2.12.033 on my N8 (PR 1.2) today but it failed to update completely. I uninstalled it and downloaded it from ovi store, installed it but it fixed on the loading page. Restarting also dosen't help. Now I also not able to install previous versions also. What to do to fix problem? I also not want to hard reset.

I had the same problem on my E7. Failed update, then it would just stay in loading screen.
I fixed it by installing the following component (which prompts you to overwrite other components as well)
    http://nds2.betalabs.nokia.com/reader/Ovi_Notifications_Support_Package_Symbian3_v1.1.11118.sis
Reboot, then hopefully it should work.

    @lildrake
Are you referring to accessing OVI Store via browser or application upon device?
AFAIK there is a version of OVI Store circulating for S60 3rd Ed. FP1 as installed to my N95 after "hard reset" but N73 is original S60 £rd Ed.:http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Online-services-from-Nokia-Nokia/N95-is-not-supported-by-ovi-store/m...
If you are referring to .sis applications sourced outside of Nokia/Ovi Store the Symbian certificate has expired upon a number of these now, you have to reset date upon device to a previous time perhaps start with 2010 and change it back to current date after successful installation; it can unfortunately be a matter of trial and error to hit the right one!

  • How can I install Ovi Store on my N8?

I hard reset my N8, and then when I tried to download and install Ovi Store, it's not getting installed. How can I install?

If you go to Ovi store through the web browser it will offer you the choice to download the latest version of the app.

  • How To Hard Reset N8

Just to help people who have reported problems re-setting the N8, apparently there is a button combo to reset, Kudos to AAS
    http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/12185_Another_three_finger_salute_do.php
Text below has been added by Nokia:
Important information from the official N8 FAQ
    (http://europe.nokia.com/support/search?page=1&fullcontent=true&cat=support&cnt=1&qt=n8+reset)
    You
should not use the "three finger" reset (pressing volume down + camera key +
menu key and pressing power button) to hard reset the Nokia N8-00 device. Doing
this will delete some applications (Ovi Store, Ovi Maps, some preinstalled
    widgets) which cannot be restored.
If the device needs to be reset, try the following methods
instead of the "three finger" reset:
Press down the power button for 8
    seconds.
Restore the factory settings by selecting Menu
    > Settings > Phone > Phone management > Factory settings >
    Restore.
The "three finger" reset should be used only
as a last resort if the device cannot be booted up in any other way.
    If
successful, the device can be used after the reset but some of the applications
are missing. The device needs to be taken to a Nokia Care point for reflashing
to get the original applications back in the
    device.

Just in case someone needs to reformat the Nokia N8, a Forum Nokia blog post describes how to do this. Excerpt:
How to Full Format your bricked N8?
Many guys here face the "brick" problem after trying to play with FontRouter. So I have to find the way to recover it and at last I found one. (And I have to warn you here that DON'T USE FontRouter ON YOUR N8 OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE)
Here is the method to full format and make bricked N8 come alive again:
    1) Turn off your phone
    2) Hold "Volume Down + Camera Key + Menu Key" and press power button until your phone shake
    3) Wait until screen show properly... and welcome back!!
Please note that I found these problems after doing full format:
    1. I lost Ovi Maps. However, you could reinstall it by download it here
    2. I also lost Ovi Store 2.0 and I can't reinstall it since it always show "Unable to install".
So please DON'T do full format if not neccessary or actually I must say that DO IT ONLY AS YOUR LAST CHOICE.

  • Restore Web TV items after hard reset

    Hi,
I did a hard reset of my N8. Now my CNN, Nat. Geo. Web TV links are gone. They are also not in the Ovi Store. How to get them back ?

You can't without getting a reflash from a Nokia Care store. Nokia say they will release them. If you have done a hard reset be prepared for problems like Social missing from your phone and not being able to use Ovi Store and Maps. There are threads in the forum for solution for the last three issues. Please search.

  • [Solution]How to restore Ovi Store, QT, Social and...

After the hard reset you need to perform first a Software Update.
Download from Ovi Store website the sis installer of WordPress and install it on phone (wordpress install also Nokia Smart Install and all QT and PIPS components)
Launch Ovi Store on phone: will be donloaded the sis installer and now will works without any error
Reinstall Social_1_2_update.sisx (there are a working link on this forum), because the preinstalled one has some grafic error (missing buttons)
Download again language and regional maps via OVI Suite.
    reboot N8

Very well said. I have personally tried all methods after hard resetting my n8 and nothing has worked so far for me. I have installed Nokia QT package and followed all versions of various instructions on youtube to try and get back QT, QT mobility, webkit etc etc etc, but Ovi store wont install still. Keeps giving "Unable to install" error. Have even tried the Wordpress installation and even though you get QT webkit and nokia installer, Ovi store wont install still. The only workable (but possibly dangerous) method that seems to be working for others is using  to flash the n8 yourself. But there are reports of bricked phones as well so have not tried this method myself. I'd rather have a working phone without Ovi store.
But one thing to note is the time it is taking nokia to address this issue, even though this issue was reported to them directly after n8 got released in 2010. Firmware v13 has been released and it didnt solve this problem either. Now the new leader of Nokia is stating that symbian is becoming increasingly harder to work with in terms of bringing new functionality to this ever growing and competitive mobile business. Makes us wonder that the inevitable will occur, i.e. Nokia dropping symbian finally and moving on to Android etc. Now that would be the biggest surprise for all of us who own Symbian^3 devices. Still waiting for PR 2.0 Nokia, if someones listening that is.............
