E7 Belle upgrade - change of email behaviour

(Note - use native email direct to ISP, not via Nokia Mail or other intermediary; will not use cloud based services eg. Google/AOL/Yahoo, so don't suggest them to me as a "fix".)
Prior to Belle (ie pre Anna and Anna releases) "delete" of an email only deleted it from the phone, not from the server. Now, under Belle, "delete" does just that and removes from the server as well. Annoying, as it has meant I have deleted a few emails I intended to keep on my "master" version on my PC.
Anyone else having the same experience?
Prior to E7 it was possible to configure email delete in the phone to either mean "delete from server" or "delete in phone only". It would be nice to get that option back!

Did you just change your address, or create a new iTunes account? If it is not a new account you will first have to fix the password problem. Email iTunes Store support if you cannot figure out how to resolve the problem. Have you updated your login on the phone, in addition to iTunes on your computer?
To update your iPhone you need to install the latest version of iTunes (10.5). You also need an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4. The 3G cannot be upgraded beyond 4.2.1.

I was forced to change my email address, (was locked out of it). I also was forced to change my Apple password due to the iOS 7 upgrade. Everything on my iPhone and iPad, including iTunes, accepted my new email address change, except iCloud. And because I was forced to change my password, it doesn't recognize my old password or new password either. There is no way I can find to change my email address on iCloud, and so I'm stuck. I cannot delete iCloud account without proper email and password and it still shows my old email and doesn't allow it to be changed.

If Settings>iCloud is showing your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Purchased iphone years ago using our only email address and recently this year my husband finally decided to get the iphone 4 using our email with no intentions on syncing it to computer. If you change the primary email, you must use that one to login in with, as the primary email IS your AppleID.
If you go to https://appleid.apple.com you can login and change your information for your AppleID account, but you will see that the AppleID = primary email address. So, no, there is no way to change that, and still have your husband log in with the old AppleID/email.
Your husband can still use your AppleID after you change the email addres, just using that new email and password (ie. you can both still use the same AppleID, but it now will defacto be your new email address).
Or, if it is just a means to avoid the collisions of iMessage texts, just have your husband create his own AppleID just for use with iMessage. You can still both use your AppleID for the iTunes and App stores, but in the iMessage settings, he can use his own AppleID instead of yours.
In short - you can each have multiple AppleIDs, and you do not have to use the same AppleID for both purchases, syncing and so forth AND iMessage - iMessage settings can use a different AppleID from the other things.

Yes, absolutely, you can still use the old ID to update, etc., but I understood the OP to want to simply discard the old one and use only the new one. Maybe I misunderstood...
And, actually just now re-reading the first post, it could be that the ID had only been associated with the iDevices, so if he established a new ID and associated that with the new MBP, I frankly have no idea if he can still use the old ID on that machine (based on him saying that the old ID is greyed out) - have not come up with this type of situation before.

I would like to change the email for my Downloadhelper license

Trying to get to support for Downloadhelper but no luck the forum site times out when you try to get to it. Changed my email address in Adobe ID but now cannot login to BC

HELP! As I cannot login to BC now I cannot see where I can submit a ticket.
I needed to change my email address in my Adobe ID but I now cannot login to BC with the new or old Adobe ID? I can login to Adobe.com and my Creative Cloud fine. I do have another BC admin login which works but I was hoping to upgrade my first site today.
I used the chat support but they seem to think its a technical issue?? Any advice?

I managed to get my old Adobe ID back with my previous email address and all works fine now. Phew.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. I double checked to ensure I had the right password and it is. I can log into my email from safari with no issues. I have varified that all account information is correct but its still not working. If Terminal doesn't scare you, you might try this line in Terminal...
sudo mv /var/db/CodeEquivalenceDatabase /var/db/CodeEquivalenceDatabase.old
Carefully type your admin password when asked & hit enter, as it won't be echoed, then restart the Mac.
The Password rejection can confuse people since it's a catch all meaning...
This Password, Username, Authentication method... is not recognized on this Port to this Server.
So since WebMail works it's not Name or Password, but one of the other ones.

I just purchased a new iMac 21.5" and upgraded it to Yosemity O.S.
I set it up using one eMail adress (hotmail) and password. I have, now changed it to a different eMail adress (gmail) and password. But when I try to log in to iCloud it still shows my old eMail adress and it won't accept my new password. I believe that I need to change the email adress but how can I do this?

EA4500 - How do I change the email account the router is associated with in Cisco Connect Cloud?

I have an EA4500 runnign the latest firmware that supports the Cisco Connerct Cloud and I need to change the email account the router is associated with. How do I do this? (Online Help does not explain.)

Yes the Apple ID is the thing that ties your devices to you and shares your information and content between them.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

Will we EVER be able to change the email associated with our account?

I am talking the one our account name is seemingly hard-linked to, not the watch email.
I noticed this problem changing the email while at OpenWorld this week; I went to Oracle Mix, tried to change my email in the profile to receive the invitation to MIX. It was being sent to an email since closed, and it would not change. So I was high and dry all week.
One would think that "The Information Company" would be a little more flexible, and would have fixed this during the upgrade.

you can only change your notification email address. But not the registered email address which seems to have become the internal key to identify a user (and that is why we can change our "handles" because the 'handles' are not the keys !).

If you're going to upgrade to iOS 7, wait to change your iCloud ID until after you update. If you change it beforehand, the update will revert back to your original ID and you'll have trouble changing it back to the new ID.
