E7 file editor problem in symbian anna os

i can't create new file on file editor after i updated my E7 os with symbian anna. how can i resolve it?

Try re-installing the software or doing a reset, either may help, but re-intalling the software will be easier and quicker. To reset , back up contacts , calendar and notes ONLY, as a full backup and restore will restore any issues you have, Then dial *#7370# followed by 12345 if required and set up the phone manually, you will lose all data on the phone and have to re-install your apps and media !
Good Luck

    Please answer immediatly!!
    I have a C7 with Symbian Anna
Today I update the software with Ovi Suite but on 3th phase, the Cell doesn't restart
    Pleaseeee help me!!
How can I resolve the problem?

If I remember, the difference is that via NSU the firmware gets updated as a whole, but via OTA it's updated over the top of existing firmware or it's added to what already exists in the phone. Similar to the difference between upgrading from say from an older version of Microsoft windows to a newer version vs a fresh install of a new version

All look ups made through a reverse cellphone lookup directory are made in complete privacy so the caller will never know if you searched their number.
,It is worth noting that there are no free services that offer the full information of a caller that the tracer report does through a reverse phone directory

  • Patch for Symbian Anna released? (Nokia E7)

    Hi All
I am not sure what is going on.
My E7 was serviced by NOKIA care Point one week ago. Phone came back to me with Symbian Anna and all updates applied (I checked it same day the phone was back)
Today, when checking Applications>SW Update I noticed this:
    My Question is:
Is this update about patch for Symbian Anna?
Because here are details of my system:
I am confused because same set of updates came from Nokia when I was updating from Symbian^3 to Anna.
    Can any one explain this?

let me give you some more flashes:
    1. 7370 reset will tell you that all the 3 updates are required.
    2. after doing so, ovi store will not work.
    3. you will scour this forum and find out that you have to install 3 files, in proper sequence, reboot system.
    4. bad luck.
    5. then you will try 3 button reset
    6. WOW. ovi store will work after the similar 3 file anna update
    7. you will call nokia care line
    8. they will tell you that 3 button reset is not nokia recommended and that you will have to "reflash" your device
    9. you will lose your cool, especially after having come from the same place already
    10. then you will scream out loud in this forum.
    11. you will get used to the problem or you will optimistally wait for Belle.
whew... sometimes, i tend to think that if the above process is standard in one order or the other, there is no need for this forum! nokia can post this in a website itself as a
    if... then... else... code prose!

  • C7 symbian anna update questions

So there seems to be a lot of problems with the anna-update and lots of bugs. i sit worth the risk?
is it possible to downgrade again?
and will all my apps still be in place and function?
will I have to redo all my settings and personalisations? like all the folders and files. all saved games etc etc...
I have the c7-00 with latest symbian ^3 now and im pretty pleased with it.
    so.. worth it?

Exactly! A software update is always great. The main problems caused are due to certain apps that are installed in your phone which conflict with the new features.Best way to update is to hard reset your phone and then update. And also always install those apps that are compatible with your phone. Some apps are not compatible with your phone, but they run as normal and like to cause problems in the long run or when you update your software.

Hi, could anybody tell me how can I get the Email Widget for Symbian Anna?
I have a Nokia N8 Belle and I don't like the big widget for email, so I would like install the old email widget for Symbian Anna for my N8 Belle.
How can I get the wgz file, please?
    Thank you very much,

The widget is part of the mail application, and as such you cannot have the updated mail application with the old style widget. Unfortunately as the mail application is built into the ROM it's not possible to replace.
    Sorry.

  • Symbian Anna update 1/2 failed to install

The story so far. I did the first round Anna update (around 27 mb i think) OTA cos my Ovi Suite never able to update firmware on my n8 since trying to update it to PR 1.2, and I did try reinstalling, redownload, reboot PC, reg clean, ccleaner to fix the Suite but it still do not update my firmware at all. But that's another story.
So I installed the 1st round, n8 rebooted to white screen, rebooted into homesceen with Midnight theme. SW update then shows 4 more items: Anna update 1/2, 2/2, Store and Social. The 1/2 was showing around 20++ mb. So I selected all 4 and update. Halfway through the installing process of 1/2 update (note the download part of 1/2 was very fast), I did plug in the power pin, cos the installation process was damn slow for 1/2. I did not notice wheher it finised installing cos later i checked it was already on 2/2 (downloaded and installing). It then went to the last two items and installed ok.
Rebooted device, but SW update still showed Anna update 1/2 available (the only one left) and the download size is now 7166 kb. I proceed to update it, it failes with error but no error codes or any message what was the error about. I tried again and again, with fresh reboots, still failes. What gives?
Even more, split screen not here. I did the uninstalling Swype, activating qwerty mode in portrait, still no split screen.  I do not have any Betalabs apps.
My Quickoffice & Reader is not here anymore (the app manager not showing them too). Heck I bought the full ver of Quickoffice 6 last time. Wat a waste of my money now that ver 7 is out!!
Anyone knows how to delete the "dowloaded cache" of SW updates? I want to force SW update to redownload this 1/2 item to try fix this issue.
Thanks for listening and please help. Cheers!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I got the same problem since this morning on both my N8 & just found out solution on a previous update error similar to this & completed the update on one of the N8. Re-trying on another one.
Working Solution for failed update was found on Flashism's website quoted & "touched up" per below:
Big thanks to user “Unick” on Nokia Support Forums, who posted a working solution to the problem, and there are couple of successful installs reported from the solution.
I just deleted folder E:\Private\20019119\. After that I ran SW update on the phone & it restarted download of Symbian Anna Update 1/2 & 2/2 as well as Social, they  finished updates successfully.
To delete the mentioned folder, follow these simple steps:
    • Connect your Nokia N8/C7 in Mass Storage mode to PC via USB cable
    • Locate and delete folder named “20019119″ under \Private folder of Mass Storage
    • Unplug the device from PC, and retry again. It should work.
However, I still got no popup split keyboard after completing the updates & restarted the phone.

  • Unable to open raw file editor in PSE8

    Hi,
I have just purchased PSE8 and after installing on my laptop,  I cannot open a camera raw file in the raw file editor. Instead in opens directly in the PSE8 editor.
My software and camera details are as follows: Adobe Photoshop Elements Language Version: 8.0.0 (8.0 (20090905.r.605812))
Operating System: Windows Vista 32-bit  Version: 6.0 Service Pack 2le editor.
My camera is a Nikon D80 and raw files have the extension .NEF
PSE 8 camera raw plugin is version 5.5.0.97
I have tried removing PSE 8 and the plugin as defined in solution 2 at:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407110.html
I did have a trial version of PSE8 installed before purchase, but removed it from my laptop as defined above before installing PSE8.
    Any help appreciated.
    Best regards,
    TonyMV8

Thanks for your reply. I have followed the instructions as defined at: http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshopelements-6-7-faq.htm#_Problems_open ing_raw and the problem is still there.
I have alos completly removed PSE8 and the associated plugins form my laptop including empting the trash bin and then started reloaded PSE8, but hte end result does not change anything.
You asked how I was opening a raw file, well what I am doing is as follows:
    1. I open PSE8 from my desktop.
    2. Select 'Edit' and PSE8 Editor opens.
    3. Select 'File' then 'Open'
    4. Highlight a 'NEF' with 'Files of type: set to 'All Formats' and select 'Open' ( I have also tried changing the 'All formats' to raw files, but this does not change anything).
    5. The raw file opens within PSE8, and not the raw editor.
At stage 5 on my desktop PC running under XP in PSE8, the raw editor appears as per below.
    Any thoughts and ideas appreciated.
    Best regards,
    TonyMV8

  • Missing features in Symbian Anna (Is it only me? o...

I installed the Symbian Anna Update which was released yesterday (18th August 2011) and got trough the update process despite the difficulties the Software Updater in my phone caused. After the update I noticed some features are missing:
(Not Adobe reader or Quickoffice, they were available after the update.)
    1. The animated pop-up notification that I got when I connected to the internet is missing in Symbian anna. (It's really annoying because I can't actually see what access point my phone is using unless I look harder.)
    2. The Games folder is missing (The Icon with the game controller on it)
    3. No wallpaper in the Default "Midnight" Themes.
    4. Homescreen Rotation is a bit jumpy. (The operators name doesn't appear with the rotation animation. It jumps in)
If anyone encountered any of these problems, please let me know. If you have a solution I'd really appreciate it. Or if these things are normal. Well I'll wait for a future software update from Nokia.
I have a Nokia C7-00, I tried reinstalling the Software update and Soft-Resetting but non of it worked. Just so you know.
    Thanks,
    Lasiru.

    Hi,
Seems that you have downloaded an old version of OWB. The new version is 9.2, not 9.0.2 and it is as far as I know only available as a standalone download.
The version of Developer Suite currently on OTN is more than a year old.

  • Clarification on 025.007 for Symbian Anna products

    Hi all,
as you might have noticed we started rolling out a new update version for the Symbian Anna products.
025.007 only contains some error fixes and is therefore not a mandatory update for N8/C7/C6-01/E7/E6/X7. This means, that not all countries/operators will test and approve this version. The rollout is happening in waves, depending on lcoal testing and approval. If you want to get a notification when the update is available for your phone, please switch on the software update auto check. (You can find it under Options in your phone’s Software Update App.)
    BR,
    yvonne

I received a symbian Anna service pack of size 1040KB which when installed did not change the version to 025,but said it was meant for usability improvements. It will give me better scrolling in messages and help me get quick location info on photos plus more(it was not mentioned what exactly is this "plus").However it added conversation appl, java run time and conversation server to my installed files list.

  • E7 Symbian Anna music player vs N8 PR1.2 music pla...

Does anyone here happen to have both the E7 (with Symbian Anna), as well as an N8 9with PR1.2)?
If so, can you do a comparison of the Anna music player compared to the poor default player of the N8?
Are there any noticeable UI differences at all, or have Nokia plainly just neglected the music player entirely with the Anna update? Are we destined to continue using such a broken piece of music software until further updates? Have Nokia ignored all feedback relating to the N8's music player, and failed to rectify the problems which plague it currently?
I think many people will agree that the music player on older Nokia handsets is far superior than that of the N8, so I am wondering whether they have listened to complaints and fixed the problems which were reported (Ie, a major gripe was having the Artists and Albums combined)
Any heads-up of what to expect with our N8 Anna update would be very useful!

Well for starters, how are songs organised on the E7? Are artists and albums still grouped together, or have Nokia split them up as they should be?
One of the main problems of the N8 music player is that multiple artists who share an album name (Ie, "Greatest Hits") seem to get grouped together under just one album title. Is this still true on the E7?
Also, how are compilation albums displayed? This has also been an issue on the N8, mainly because artists and albums have been grouped together, rather than separately as per older Nokia devices such as the N91, N82, N95, and N96
Does Anna on the E7 feature a graphical equaliser? This was something else which was missing from the N8, but present on previous handsets.
Have Nokia added an alphabetical search field for the music player, as promised? With split-screen QWERTY text entry, there is now no reason why this should not have been added
Little things like these. How does the E7 Anna software compare to the N8 PR1.2 software? Or have Nokia just blatantly ignored the music player entirely?

  • JKL Keys Don't Work Correctly in File Editor

I'm using STP v3. When I select a clip in the timeline of a multitrack project, using the JKL keys in the File Editor does not work correctly. Instead of playing from the current time of the playhead/CTI, it plays from the beginning of the selected clip. Is this normal or is it a bug? The JKL keys function properly in the timeline, but not the File Editor.
    Thanks for any help,
    Cuong

Search this forum (if the Search facility is working) for Wacom.  People have reported problems with Wacom's current drivers and pressure sensitivity.  I believe the current workaround is to downgrade to a slightly older version.  I have also seen it reported that Wacom is aware of and working on the problem.

  • QuickOffice Pro fails to Install on Symbian Anna

I have a Nokia N8 with Symbian Anna. I purchased QuickOffice Pro from Ovi Store and it downloads but then fails to install. The trial version from the QuickOffice site also fails to install. Before I purchased QuickOffice I deleted the version of QuickOffice that came with Symbian Anna.
Now I am left with no QuickOffice even though I have paid for it.
Can someone suggest what I should do so I can install the QuickOffice Pro that I have paid for.
    Jen
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I emailed quickoffice tech support and they gave me a solution that works.
My unit is a C6-01 that I recently updated (successfully) to symbian anna including the 2 updates that came later.
Here's how I did it as per their advice:
Before you start, download the .sis file for the quickoffice pro version 7 (39) that you purchased from Quickoffice. You will use this later.
    1. backup your phone using nokia ovi suite, if you want to shorten this, backup only the important data like phone contacts, device settings, applications settings, calender etc. You can do away with the backup of music, picture and video files as those take time.
    2.  reset your device as follows which I quote " At the main screen, enter *#7370# – The default lock code is 12345. This will restore the device to its original state, removing all user data, contacts, and third-party applications you may have installed."
this will tell you that the reset will also erase the contents of your memory card, if you dont want your memory card erased, remove it before resetting, then proceed to resetting.  If you have entered your own lock code, use that instead of the default lock code 12345.
after you enter the lock code, the phone will shut down and reboot with a white screen only. Wait for it to compelete as it takes some time.
    3. After the resetting is complete, all softwares that you installed will be temporarily gone (since you took out the memory card) but you can recover it later.
    4. connect your cell to your PC and use Nokia Ovi suiet to install the Quickoffice pro 7 that you downloaded.
this should install the quickoffice pro successfully.
Check if the quickoffice pro is working.
5.then re-install your memory card which you removed in step 2.  The restore the contents of your phone using OVI suite.
    6. Finally, update your phone software using ovisuite.  It will say that it has 2 or 3 updates pending.  Just proceed with the update since that update will not erase the quickoffice pro that is already installed.
that's it. you should have a working copy of QUickoffice pro 7.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE:  This worked on my Nokia C6-01 updated to Symbian Anna.  I cannot speak for other nokia models.
    I hope this helps.

  • Does Nokia Co have a solution to E7 Symbian Anna P...

This will be my last complaint to write about my Nokia E7 and its problems associated with Symbian Anna update.
I have intalled all the 2 updates but my OVI store does not work, I cannot install applications that I bought when I had symbian^3 firmware and don't want to go into details again.
My Question to Nokia company is: Do you have a solution to our complaints about symbian anna or not? If you have it what is it not suggestions as you have been giving us. If you don't have a solution can you please release the downgrade to Symbian 3 firmware so that we go back but be happy using the phone as almost everybody in the world is complaining about symbian anna and it seems you are not listening..
Give us a solution or will sale my lovely Nokia E7 phone after two weeks from today

Having your phone re-flashed will resolve the issue, that's what I've had to do, and all is well now !
