E7 MFE and Nokia Messaging Issues

Hi I have the following issues with my Nokia E7-00: BEFORE ANNA UPDATE: 1. With MFE on Hotmail: Only Inbox will sync. Other folders will not sync. Contacts and Calendar sync well, no problem. If i send an email from my device, i receive that email, it is there on the Sent folder on the server, but not on my device. 2. With Nokia Messaging: Only Inbox and Sent folders will sync. Junk and Draft folders will not sync. AFTER ANNA UPDATE: 1. With MFE on Hotmail: Same as BEFORE ANNA UPDATE. 2. With Nokia Messaging: When i configure Hotmail / Gmail / Yahoo, it says "cannot enable the service that gives you full access to the features..." Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

Have you tried to check whether the synchronization success or fail?
To check it:
Open the Nokia Messaging Email screen
Open 'Options' menu (left soft key)
Choose 'Connection Info'
Some info displayed are:
last sync date and time, last sync status (successful or failed), last successful sync date and time

Gmail and nokia messaging client - 5800

I've had my 5800 for a couple of weeks now and when I got it I set up my gmail account with the built in email client under messaging. Everything was working fine. Since yesterday I have not been able to get any new emails to show up on my phone. I've deleted and re-added the mail box and old messages show up and I can view older emails but no new ones? I've checked all of my gmail settings, and I do in fact have new emails sitting there but no joy.
Any ideas?

I don't use nokia messaging, find the standard email client works faultlessly and also use the MSN app which gives me a hotmail box just like computer. I removed Nokia Messaging as I prefer the extra space on C. Good Luck

I had a bad experience with my gmail account. It was really slow. 15min looks to work but it won´t make it faster as push email is not supported by gmail when using nokia devices ( I have read it somewhere on a gmail mobile compatibility chart at google help pages)
I have created an ovi mail account and it works as push email on my c6 00 (latest firmware). I have setup gmail to send a copy of all the incoming emails to my ovi account, so I have instant feedback at my phone of incoming mails.
The bad news of this workaround is that when I reply i´m doing it from my ovi account where y erase the mails after reading as I have the original mail at gmail.
I hope this helps someone that needs push+gmail.

5530 and Nokia Messaging problem

I have managed to download the Nokia Messaging email which sits in the 'internet' folder within my Nokia 5530, labelled 'Nokia Messaging email' okay so far so good!
When I try and get the application running all it does it create a mailbox within the normal standard default email instead of launching the dedicated application for push email. I have uninstalled it numerous times but no luck. Can anyone help its doing my head in
I know what it should look like having used it on the N85.

try signing in to your nokia messaging account in email.nokia.com maybe that will refresh it some how, and than delete the account on your device, and set it up all over again .

SRM 5 BBPSTART - System ID and System Messages issues

Hi all,
We just upgraded to SRM 5.0 from SRM 3.0
The shopping cart logon page(bbpstart) doesn't show System ID and also the system Messages also doesn't work on browser when we set message by sm02.
I already checked "System ID" and "System messages" from "Select Display" under System Logon Settings from bbpstart>Error Pages>Logon Errors>Configuration>System Logon Settings.
I searched over the net and can't find anything. I only found a notes for the System messages, but it was for the older release and SRM 5 already applied that note. So I don't know what else I can do.

It is not possible to run a system landscape with 2 identical SID's. And even if you do get it running in some kind of freeky way the system would be very instable (how would you know a transport has gone to the right system?).
A system copy and a <SID> change is still possible. However, SAP recommends to do an export and an import of your database. Allthough this is the best and the least confusing way (and labour extensive), it is not really necessary.
If you do a backup/restore procedure with a <SID> change, lets say from PRD to DEV, you will end up with a system that has DEV as <SID> but your tablespaces will look like PSAP-PRD-620. The owner of the database will also be sapprd. This is no problem at all to run the system, it is only confusing.
I know it works, I've got it running. I've also got a sandbox running with user saptsc and database owner cbdamd and <SID> CBD.

HOTMAIL AND NOKIA MESSAGEING

I got a message from nokia messaging on Sunday saying that nokia messaging link to hotmail server was undergoing maint work.
Any onw know if this has been put back on like as I still cant access email on my handset using nokia messaging for my hotmail account?
Theres also some talk that three have blocked access to nokia email/nokia messaging forcing you to use their **bleep** email on three system?

In the menu of your phone locate (or search for) email or mail app. There, you are able to delete accounts via the Option key. Did that help?

4.4.2 RAZR Maxx HD Battery life and Text messaging issues

So I finally got the update to Kit Kat (4.4.2) over the weekend. After installing I've noticed a couple of problems.
1. The battery life plummeted. I went from lasting about 2 days on a charge to having to recharge after about 12 hours (went from 100% to 32%). Also, the phone was running hot (battery). I checked the apps that were running and found some that I had not used since the update were running and my RAM usage was much higher than normal. I force stopped them and have been running normal for the past 3 days, so I think this may have been a one time thing.
2. What happened to the text message app? I'm getting notifications that I'm getting text messages (the "Messaging" icon will show a orange square with the number of new texts) but it doesn't show me any new text messages. I also get no notification from the Circles widget (in the circle that displays the time) and nothing on the black status bar at the top of the screen, just the Messaging icon. Going into the Messaging app doesn't show any new messages, but the notification on the app remains. If I wait long enough (anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours so far) the message will finally come through (as well as the other notifications). It's like the phone knows I've gotten a text but won't download it for an extended period of time. This makes carrying a conversation via text next to impossible. This is going on as I type. For about 20 minutes I've got a notification on the messaging app that says I've got 1 new text but when I check it there is no new text displayed. The last text showing up is from a few hours ago. What the heck is going on?

I'm sorry you're having issues with the battery on your device bljusn. I know its frustrating and thanks for trying all those steps to correct the issue. The hard reset would be the last step towards fixing some of the issues with your phone. When you perform the hard reset, make sure you don't restore your apps because they could be causing some of the issues with your phone if their not compatible with the new software. We recommend adding them on one by one to check for issues. Keep us posted.

EntityManager.persist and JMS messaging issues?

Hi everyone:
I am seeing a problem that I could not figure out a solution. Can anyone shed me some lights on this?
I have a EJB method which basically does 2 things: 1). persists a record into a database table using EntityManager 2). sends out a message to a JMS topic. So it is th like:

notifier.notify(...);
The client will then listen to the JMS topic and read the new record from database. Usually this works pretty well, but sometimes, the client cannot find the new record from database at all and a few seconds later it can. It is as if there is a delay between the JMS messaging and database persistence - somehow the client receives the message first and at this time the record is not really saved into database yet!
Can anyone explain to me what is going on here? What kind of solutions might help to resolve this?
BTW, I am using the Hibernate EntityManager. My app server is Glassfish.

You need to use flush method to persist the value before you calling notifier.notify(...);
below code should works

Insurt photo and get message issue id="THREE_PIXEL_JOG" name="Three Pixel Text Jog"/

I insert a photo size 300 x225 and when I check it the size is 3X3 what is wrong.

My wild, flat out guess is you have placed the image without an html width or height attribute and your id of "THREE_PIXEL_JOG" is set to a height and width of 3px in the css.
If that's not the case, we'll need to see your code and image. A link to your malfunctioning page, here in the forum, would be the best way to do that.

E52 and nokia messaging

I have problems with my e52 and mail. I dont know how to connect for checking mail without staying connected al the time. When I set sync to for example 15mins it connects for mail but does not disconnect. It drains my battery I dont want to be conn. all the time

The difference between soonest, 15 mins, and 30 mins is that soonest will notify you as soon as e-mail comes in, 15 mins will notify you at most once every 15 mins, if you've got mail and 30 mins will notify you at most once every half-an-hour if you've got mail. All three use a constant connection though and will download mail as soon as it comes in.
If you choose a greater time interval will mean that the phone will poll once every hour/4 hours/etc... to see if there is any mail but there's no way to poll every 15/30 minutes.
If you download ProfiMail you can set it up to poll every 15 minutes.

Nokia Messaging, X6, and disabling destinations

I like having 3G turned off and Nokia Messaging constantly checking mail using GPRS, and turning 3G on only when I want to browse the web outside of the house. This worked great with Nokia Messaging 10 which was preinstalled on my phone. I upgraded to 10.02 however, and now I can only choose destinations - Internet or Multimedia. This means when I get home, the phone uses my WiFi and the battery gets wasted much quicker than with GPRS (especially because according to the connection manager, with GPRS the connection becomes idle, whereas with WiFi the connection is always active).
I like the fact that Nokia gave users who wanted destinations the ability to use it, but is there a way to switch it off, or to choose a specific connection to always use?

why not to make a new destination group (name it slow or whatever), put your gprs connection in it only (without the wifi and the 3g) and use it instead of internet in your email?
that an idea, worth to try.

Nokia Messaging & E71

1. Installed latest Nokia Messaging (Push email service).
2. When I go in "Contacts" menu, in contextual menu "Send Email" nothing happens. With the built-in email I could send email from "Contacts" but not with Nokia Messaging.
(this is the contextual menu I'm reffering - image taken from User Manual)
Questions:
1. Is there a setting I missed?
2. It's a bug in Nokia Messaging?
3. It's a weak integration with Nokia E71 main OS?

Firstly, I am not sure if I understand your problem correctly: I cant see you picture: what exactly do you do to get to contextual menu "Send Email" and in which application is that: NM or Contacts?
What firmware do you have ?
I have 200.21.118 and the latest Nokia Messaging and MFE and it works fine.
When inside the contacts application, select a contact: now there are 2 ways:
1. Go into the contact, Here again there are two options:
a) select a non email fieldptions/Create message/Email: all email accounts of the contact are listed, select one, then you will have the option to select any email address to send from: it will show Email (default) and your MFE email account if you have one.
b) select an email field: it will show email addresses you can send from : Email (default) and your MFE email account if you have one.
2. Select Send/Email: you will have the option to select any email addresses to send from: either from MFE or Nokia Messaging
Default email can be set in Nokia Messaging / Settings / General

I have a googlemail account and use Nokia Messaging with my E75. Everything was fine until today. Suddenly (without any changes to my phone or account) I don't receive any email. For some reason I can send emails and they arrive just fine.

Email synchronization will eventually resume automatically, but there's currently no workaround available at this time. Nokia Messaging push email not working

Hey, i am using a Nokia C3, already subscribed to a nokia messaging service through the operator. Using communities, mail and chat are all ok, except the push email. The push email is not working, sometimes it works, but mostly its not working. I tested to send email from my PC and the email never arrive on my phone. But when i open the mail application and synch, the email will be there. So, the push mail is not working. I set it up correctly i guess, i already set the settings to 'follow my account setting' and the account setting update inbox 'very fast'.
When first using this phone i use an "A" operator, subscribed to nokia messaging service, and then register the email in the mail application. Several week ago i changed to operator "B", and already removed the email and re-adding again. Any solution? Thanks before..

now the both function is working fine in my phone. space bar light and nokia messaging ( push email ) the thing is once it go for low battery profile mode. after that i charge my batter full also my push email will not work. once phone got restarted then it will start works. if my active power saver mode then if we charge my phone also it will not work even in full charge i need restart. before my phone got power saver mode my push email is working fine. once it go for active power saver mode then we charge full also push email will not work. again i need to restart my phone. for this issue what has to be done ? can any one suggects me regarding the same

E75 reports (no messages) with Nokia Messaging Gma...

I signed up for an account a http://email.nokia.com, went through the processed, and received the installation message fine on my phone. The account appeared to have set up correctly. I entered my email, accessed the account, it asked me for my password, I entered it, and it connected without reporting an error. However, after connecting, the account reported (no messages) when there are actually several messages in my inbox all newer than 3 days. I can access the account fine if I set it up using the phone's built in software, but I would really like to utilize push email. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this issue?

Here's the deal. Like many of you, I have faced the exact same problems with Nokia Messaging on the E75. You can send emails but cannot receive them. The phone, the connection and the synchronization seems all fine with the green ring attempting to fetch from nokia servers but resulting in zero emails.
Well, I have more or less narrowed down the cause of the problem if by chance you have not noticed it is none other then - NOKIA MESSAGING!!!!
When ever you sign-up for a new account it is set up in one of many Nokia servers. Mine is "netac12.vie.hosting.nokia.com" you can find the server info on your phone. It could be that these new servers are not configured properly to work with some of our phones in particular, the E75. Other possibilities may be that the integrated Nokia Messaging software in the phone may be having some problems in communicating with the nokia server. Which ever way you look it just comes down to software problems.
As of now, I don't believe Nokia has a solution but am sure they are aware of the situation. As much as Nokia may not acknowledge certain problems with its products or services but trust me they are aware... or maybe just giving a "blind eye" so to speak for the time being..
One may ask how sure I am if it is not the hardware of the phone or my WiFi/GPRS connection that is at fault and with that, I ask of you to try the following experiment.
Download emoze (www.emoze.com) on to your phone to be 100% sure that your phone and connection is in good working order. It is a freeware Push eMail service with certain limitations of course. You may choose to remove it completely, if you don't like it but for the benefit of the test and also that it is FREE just bare with its dry interface.
After when you have installed emoze onto your phone you will realize.. SUDDENLY.. you are able to send and receive YES, RECEIVE emails almost instantaneously! To be sure that Nokia Messaging is indeed running foul I let both emoze and Nokia Messaging run on my phone in the background and send myself an email via my PC. Emoze as clockwork, without fail, gets me the email within a minute - most of the time within 15 seconds. Whereas, Nokia Messaging, as I may add, is a very moody service. It will choose when to deliver if at all and when not to at its own BLOODY will !!!
Please excuse my language, just like many of you I am very disappointed and that to have call Nokia Care Line on several occasions and only to be told that no one else seems to be facing this problem and they make me go through the damn settings over-and-over again. If there is a fault, please rectify and not hide behind your virtual bush.
I sure hope, that Nokia will start taking ownership of its product issues and give us an update or some form of acknowledgement that it is looking into our concerns. Responsible companies will definitely demand a whole lot of customer respect. Take for example Microsoft. From time-to-time its software and products will run into venerability issues and Microsoft acknowledges these issues, customers concerns and releases a patch to fix the problem. Likewise, I hope Nokia will follow suit.
I have been a Nokia cell phone supporter for over 15 years. I am seriously, considering a swap to a BlackBerry once my contract expires with my service provider. Nokia please do your due diligence.
