E700 - Invalid Address Book Record

Hope this is the correct forum for this topic.
GW7.0.3
I'm receiving simultaneous errors from 3 po's into the admin account as noted above, along with:
To requeue, save the last attachment to <post office path>\WPCSOUT\OFS\0
I've read TID 3989138 dealing with shared address books.
I've also read a TID or otherwise that indicated this might be a gwcheck finding a new account that has not logged in yet??? These errors are occurring mid-day so there are no checks running (scheduled) at that time. Sorry, can't put my finger on the document.
Contents check on one of the post offices shows the following:
Prime Database originated by Unnamed_Folder
This is replicated when I run mailbox maintenance on the actual PUxxxx.db
So, I can't determine who actually originated the shared book.
Is there any other way to determine this or am I way off base here?
Thanks

maybe you want look at this:

Uwe:
I went through the process of dropping the PU database from the guard:
renamed the puxxxxx.db to .old
ran maintenance/structural rebuild from console1
Here's a portion of the log:
STRUCTURAL VERIFICATION of system databases
STRUCTURAL VERIFICATION of database ngwguard.db
- Database is structurally consistent
Reading Guardian Database store catalog info
Processing Post Office = post_office path = server/data:\po_directory
STRUCTURAL VERIFICATION of database server/data:\postoffice\ofuser\pu050101.db
- Attempting to correct structural problem in database
- Beginning rebuild for database pu050101.db
Saving old database to backup pu050101.dba
Writing corrected records back to database
- Rebuild succeeded
* Recovered 43 out of 43 records
So, it appears that the structural rebuild was successful, however, a Contents/analyze-fix shows some strange behaviour in that the PU is "originated by unnamed_folder".
Here's a portion of the log:
Problem 39- Unknown file PU050101.DBA- 89088 bytes, 04/18/12 10:55
- File is too recent- will not be deleted
That makes sense as analyze/fix would have created the .DBA file, however, further down the log, it still shows "unnamed_folder"
Checking user = pu050101.db ( ) 88064 bytes, 04/18/12 10:55 ( [])
CONTENTS VERIFICATION of database server/data:\po_directory\ofuser\pu050101.db
- 33 records found, last DRN = 33
- checking Preference records
- checking Folder records
Prime Database originated by Unnamed_Folder
- checking Category records
- checking Data records
1 FOLDER_RECORD (Universal Inbox)
Starting scan of EVENT (and EVENT configuration) records
Finished scan of EVENT (and EVENT configuration) records
0 kbytes in use by user's mail
Perhaps I missed a step, but it doesn't appear the the PU database was dropped from the guard.
Thanks for your help.

Is there a way to create a group in address book of those records that do not belong to a group?

But if you want I have a script to do it. Make a group called Special (or whatever - change the script to suit) and run it. It will display all those it found in Script Editor's result pane.

  • Merging dupe records in Address Book erases everything

I selected the LOOK FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES and MERGE DUPLICATE ENTRIES drop down menu commands in Address Book, and after merging, the process bar froze. Upon rebooting, i discovered all my address book records had been deleted . How may I retrieve them? And is this a bug in Address Book, or am i just unlucky?

    Quit AddressBook.
Look if you can locate one of these files:
    youruserhome/library/application support/addressbook/
    addressbook.data
    addressbook.data.backup
    addressbook.data.previous
Look at the sizes of these folders, duplicate them to the desktop as a precaution.
remove addressbook.data and put it in the trash
    rename addressbook.data.previous to addressbook.data
Now open AB again and see if this has worked.
If it did, start using the build-in feature to make a backup (file menu)

  • Address book sync problem: Phone #s & emails missing fr. iPhone

When I sync, I overwrite the iPhone address book and calendar with the one on my computer. I choose 'Replace information on this iPhone.'
Suddenly, none of the emails or phone numbers are showing up in the address book records on the iPhone. All the records are there, they're just missing the phone #s and emails. The phone numbers and emails are on the computer version of Address book, and other changes in the name and notes fields for each record are showing up.
Any ideas what could be causing this and how to fix it?

I'm not sure what you mean. When I look in the Address Book, I see the email addresses for each of my contacts, but the problem is they aren't syncing to my iPhone. Do you know how I can resolve this???

  • Address book entries have vanished

I needed to move my address book from my Mac Book Pro to my Power Mac G5. Here's what I did:
    1. On Mac Book Pro, I did a "Backup Address Book" to FILE 1
    2. On Power Mac I did a "Backup Address Book" to FILE 2 as a precaution
    3. Then I did a "Revert to Address Book Backup" on the Power Mac G5 and selected FILE 1 (the address book from the Mac Book Pro)
    4. Nothing, no records in the address book.
    5. Tried doing a "Revert to Address Book Backup" on the Power Mac G5 and selected FILE 2 (my backup)
    6. Nothing. I don't have the data from the Mac Book Pro nor the original data from the Power Mac G5
What can I do? Now I have no address book records from which to do Holiday Cards. Is this the universe saying Bah-Humbug? Is there any way to fix this problem?

    David,
You should have a copy of one of your address books that works...
Rather than trying to revert to your previous address book, try this:
    1. Locate a copy or copies of your AddressBook.data
(the main file for this lives in your Users/'yourname'/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/AddressBook.data
    2. Try replacing your "AddressBook.data" and then opening up your Address Book. You must quit your Address Book before replacing the AddressBook.data so when you open up the Address Book again, it will read the AddressBook.data that you just put in.
    3. You can keep replacing this AddressBook.data until you get the correct one you are looking for. Make sure it is named, "AddressBook.data".....
I always try and keep a copy of this AddressBook.data on a separate computer or external hard drive as a backup. You can even burn this on a CD to keep a copy.
Give that a try and let us know if this worked.

  • Cannot change images in address book

I have a very vexing problem that I cannot solve and would appreciate some help.
I am running OSX 10.7.2, although I had the same problem with Snow Leopard. I have an iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 gig of RAM, although I don't thing that's relevant.
For some address book records, every time I change the photo, it reverts to the original photo. And it happens almost immediately. All I have to do is update the photo, navigate to a different contact and back again, and the photo has reverted.  I can't even clear the image. I keeps returning. I have tried the following:
    1. Confirmed that all synching is OFF. I am not  using iCloud, I am not syncing contacts with Spanning Sync or Bento or any other app.
    2. Trashed all address book preferences.
    3. Trashed all images in User/Library/Application Support/Address Book/Images. They all magically reappear when I relaunch AB.
    4. Tried steps 2 and 3 in combination.
    5. Repaired my disk permissions.
    6. Tried launching AB in 32 bit mode.
Nothing works! Very frustrated and would appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

I can't help, but I have tried to get photos into Address Book (when they are supposed to appear in Mail as well). I have succeeded with two photos but the third will not appear anywhere. I have given up on this. Its a nice feature but not essential and not worth the effort.

  • Php form to osx address book

anyone know if a php form can be developed to send information directly into address book?
i'd like to develop my fanbase through my music website and this would really be perfect.
    Ibook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Seems that you could, using more than PHP by itself however.
Perhaps a combination of forms and Automator task(s)/AppleScript could accomplish the task for you.
In PHP, you can write out files, so it is assumed that you can write a file that will be handled by the Automator/AppleScript portion to accomplish the creation of Address Book records.

  • Does Address book has a Last Modified Date field?

    Hi
Please can you let me know if Address book has a Last Modified Date field? I'd like to know what date I have last modified my address book records. I checked Preferences but not able to find it there.
    Thank you.

Sorry, but there is no such field in Address Book. If you select an individual entry in Address Book, you will see to the lower-right an "Updated" field with the date that entry was last updated. This is not true for all entries, but nearly all. There seems to be a point after which you've entered text in the Note field that the "Updated" field will no longer appear when you select an entry, but it's not documented.

  • Auto-generated birthdays [Address Book - iCal] issues with Mac OS X 10.4.4

Substantial changes were made to iCal, the Address Book and to Sync Services with the release of the Mac OS X 10.4.4 Update. Clearly, not all of the results were intended.
The automatically generated Birthdays calendar has presented at least two issues in my configuration:
Just before installing the Mac OS X 10.4.4 Update, the birthdays appeared in iCal as expected but, immediately afterward, none appeared at all. They were still embedded in my Address Book records, and the action of cutting and pasting just one of them in an Address Book record resulted in the immediate propogation of all of them again in iCal. Great. Obviously, there is now a system-level problem with the data interchange between the Address Book and iCal. This phenomena has only surfaced since the application of the Mac OS X 10.4.4 Update.
This evening, I noticed that birthdays were no longer displayed in iCal following a synchronization, though the calendar remained intact . Stranger yet, they had all been removed from the matching Address Book records which generate these entries: every one of them! I believe that a Sync Services issue caused their removal, and it is for that reason alone that they no longer appeared in iCal.
Resetting the contact records alone using .Mac as the source did no good. Not only are they not visible on the .Mac address book pages, birthdays data is also apparently not retrievable. Hmm - passed through, but not stored. Not good.
I was able to revert to a 3-day old, almost identical record set, and all of the 'restored' records with birthdays instantly had a matching iCal entry in the Birthdays calendar.
All I can say is: back up. And, back up often. [I had used the Back up Address Book… option under the File menu, so restoring them was a rapid and painless process.]
I wonder when we will see a maintenance update to Sync Services, the Address Book and iCal?

My wife's mini had a similar issue. She upgraded to 10.4.10 and her sound stopped working. She would also get the login screen freezes. Where her computer is located, turning off Airport is not an option, and the sound issue is very frustrating. I helped her restore her entire computer from a 10.4.9 backup she had made just a couple days before, and while the lockup problems are gone, the headphone jack still will not output sound. Just two pops when you plug the speakers in, and that's it. I've tried resetting the PMU with no luck. I hope Apple fixes whatever it is they screwed up, and soon. I won't be applying 10.4.10 to any of my other machines.

  • Deleting Address Book addresses

How does one delete an address from the Address Book?

Let me suggest a couple of approaches, as I am not absolutely sure what you are asking.
If you want to delete an address from your previously sent or received Mail messages but not from the Address Book itself—most often because the address in question is not actually stored in an existing Address Book record—then launch Mail, open a new message window, type enough characters in the To: field so that the address itself of a list of near matches appears (from which you can select the address) then click on the blue bubble, press the white triangle on the right, and from the drop-down menu which appears, select Remove from Previous Recipients List item.
If you want to remove an address from an existing Address Book record but want to leave the remainder of the record intact, launch the Address Book, select your record, press the Edit button at the bottom of the window, then remove each address component by highlighting it, pressing the delete or backspace key, then pressing the Tab key to move to the next field.
If you want to remove an existing Address Book record in its entirety, simply launch the Address Book, highlight the record in the Name column, press the delete or backspace key and confirm the deletion by pressing Delete in the dialog which appears.
If you want to remove a record from an Address Book Group but want to retain the record in your Address Book, select the Group, select the contact record, then press the Delete key. Confirm this deletion by pressing the Remove from Group button in the dialog which appears. When you delete a record from your Address Book, the contact represented by that record is also removed from all Groups it may have been a member of.

  • N's in address book

Address Book displaying "n's". What's up?

R.E. Smith and thousands of other users are frustrated with the insertion of "n" between duplicated NOTES fields in Address Book.  If you had 10 lines of text in your NOTES field after iCloud did a sync cycle you would end up with two sets of the 10 lines with an "n" between the two.  I have some address book entries with up to 6 duplicated sets of notes with "n" between each set of the duplicated lines.  This behavior started when iCloud syncing of address book records was introduced.  It seems to occur, for me, when I turn on iCloud on each device.  Since I have an iPhone, iPad and 3 Macs, I end up with a lot of duplicated notes fields with "n's" in between.
I've learned to go into EDIT mode before touching the NOTES field to keep any sync actions from starting while I'm editing.

  • Lost Address Book, but now growing on its own

I recently lost my address book records overnight. I found my address book cleared of my own records, and filled with multiple entries of "Apple Computer Inc." Now, the address book is growing. Every few minutes another entry of "Apple Computer Inc." shows up in the address book. Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions on fixing this?

You're not using Address Book correctly; you need to enter both a First and Last Name for each contact; not just a Last Name, or in All Caps. Mail and Address Book communicate, so when you receive an email from someone in Address Book, their name as they associated it with their email address when the account was setup is sent to Address Book and updated immediately.
That's why you will end up with double first names or last names, depending on what you entered. The solution is not to do that and use Address Book correctly.

  • Lost Exchange Address Book

After the upgrade to SL, I had many duplicate contacts and groups. Looking in the ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book folder, I found two 'AddressBook-v22' files. I moved the older file to the desktop, and the issue of duplicates was resolved. However, I lost all my connections to the Exchange 2007 address book. What is the best way to resolve this?
Update -- I did the obvious and recreated the Exchange account in the address book preferences and I am re-connected to our server. But again ... I have a host of duplicate address book entries that show up when I click on 'All Contacts.' They do NOT appear when I select 'On My Mac.)
Interestingly, I have two AddressBook-v22' files again: One at ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book and another one layer deeper at ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book/Address Book. Interesting to see the nested 'Address Book' directory.

    Thanks ...
I ended up doing something I didn't really want to do, that is deleting all my contacts on our Exchange server and retaining my address book records.
My Exchange contacts came from Entourage, prior to SL, and were mostly simple duplicates. After the upgrade to SL, I had nearly 6,000 entries in my Address Book and response time was beginning to lag.
Not the best or most elegant choice, but I've never found AB to handle large collections well.
