E71-1 Memory Card data lost several times

Hi,
In my E71 phone, I have lost my MemoryCard Data many times.
I dont know why this happens. I searched solution for this problem but failed.
I hard reset my phone, Formated data Card and ReInstalled OS And Softwares But nothing worked for me.
I lost my all data Images, videos and songs.
When I see the memory It shows the Size occupied by all Data But I cannt see them in galleries.
Anybody tell me the way How to get solution for this.

Nokia 5800 memory card data loss

Hello Everyone,
I've had one frustrating experience with my phone and it continues to annoy me. Since the past 6 months that i'm using my nokia 5800, one problem reoccurs frequently. Data on my memory card gets deleted by itself every now and then. I lose videos, music and images primarily every time.
The only option remaining then is to run a data recovery software on my memory card to restore to the lost data. This has happened 5 times in last 6 months and I have no clue why. I have seen many other complaining of the same problem in this forum but there's no solution. I hope to find on in this thread.
For your knowledge, i'm using 8gb micro sd that came with the phone and i'm already on FW ver 40.X which is the latest.
List of Nokia phones I've used: 3310, 3315, 3200, 6600,3250, N73 ME, N95 8GB, 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia X6 16 GB (currently using this).

I have the same problem on my Nokia 5800 XM v50. It happens since i use it last August when it was v30. I am using the original 8GB microSD card.
Glad that the loss files are always mp3s or mp4 that I copied from computer to the memory card. I didn't loss any photos or videos taken with the phone camera.
Another problem is that sometimes I cannot startup phone with the memory card plugged. It just shows the Nokia shaking hands and then white screen forever. I have to take out the battery or press the power button for more than 8sec to trun it off.
Sometimes I am able to start the phone by remove battery several times. BUT NOT TODAY. It can start if I take out the memory card before I press power button. After it is loaded into the home screen, if I insert the memory card, it HANGS.
I have been a Nokia user for 10yrs. And I always have faith on Nokia phones even when there were a lots of bugs on 5800 v30. BUT today i am really frustrated ....
My phones: Nokia 5130, 3210, 3310, 6510, 6108, 6230, 3250, (Windows Mobile), 5800XM, N8 + Booklet 3G.

IPhoto fails, removes device (memory card), images lost memory on card lost

I've just recently began to experience problems with importing pics from my digital cameras' memory cards. I use a GE 24-in-1 USB Card Reader, and I have been using the delete after import feature on iPhone import, with no problems for a year, until just recently. I did browse and note some recommend not to use that feature.
I use 512MB and 2GB Sandisk, Toshiba, (and two new unused) Lexar SD memory cards. I remove the cards from digital cameras (several different models of Kodak, and in two Panasonic PV-GS500 camcorders in picture-taking mode) and use the card reader for importing. I've imported into iPhoto this way for a year, likely having done so 400 times or more with no problems. I've just been lucky?
But during import recently, iPhoto import stopped, and I got the device removed without being unloaded properly warning. The iMac hung, and I had to force quit iPhoto. Yep, I lost about all the images that had imported, both in the iPhoto library, as well as on the memory card--about 600 of the 900 images on the 2GB card. I started over, without the delete after import option selected, and was able to complete the download of the remaining images. I closed iPhoto, and used Finder to select and move to trash the images on the card, to clear the card and free up all the memory for the next use. But I noted that the memory available was incorrect, showing only 658.1MB instead of what I think a 2GB should show--1.87GB.
Something similar has happened again. During import (not having the delete after import option selected), import stopped, and I got the device remove warning again. No images were saved in Library, but all the images remained on the card, so I started over and did complete the import of all the images from the card, and they were properly saved in Library. I used Finder to move to trash to clear the card. But again noted that the memory card now only shows 704.7MB available, not the 1.87GB that it should.
Yes, I read today the recommendations evidently not to do the process in this manner, so I'm sure one suggestion will be for me not to use the delete after import option, and I guess I'm not supposed to use Finder to move to trash to delete the images from the card. But I note I've done it this way for a year, even using the delete after import option with no problems--until the past two weeks. And also I've allowed all the auto updates, one recently for iPhoto, as I recall, so maybe one of the updates is now part of the experience I'm having.
So is the recommended procedure to only import with the memory card in the device (camera or camcorder), and only to delete the images using the device? I can, of course, but the way I had been doing it was far more convenient, and seemed appropriate use of the software and options.
Also, is there anyway to format the cards so the complete memory is available? Related to that, I'm beginning to think I shouldn't randomly use the cards in the five devices I use (cameras and camcorders)? Until now this hasn't been a problem either. I've been randomly using the cards, devices, and card reader, again, for over a year....
To be fair, maybe I just haven't recognized the problem when it first started recently, as I just viewed the memory on all the cards, and now see that some of the 512MB cards are only showing like 179MB, 336.4MB, and 483.4MB--is the last volume what's normally available for a 512MB card?
I seldom use the 512MB cards in the camcorders, but haven't specifically avoided doing that, other than for the reason that when capturing images in the camcorders, I usually capture 500-900 images at a time, thus needing the 2GB cards to handle that. But I've often used the 2GB cards in the digital cameras randomly.....
Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated!

Hi, OC. In addition to Terence's fine suggestions, let me point out (in case it isn't obvious) that after dragging images from your cards to the Trash, you must empty the Trash to recover the space the pictures occupied on the card. If you don't empty the trash, the pictures are still on the card, taking up the same space they did before you moved them.
But I'll repeat the oft-repeated recommendation not to delete anything from a memory card using your Mac. There are too many ways doing that can go pear-shaped. Erase or reformat each card each time you reinsert it in any of your cameras or other devices. The commands are there, somewhere in the cameras' menu systems.

Ovi Suite can't find my E71's memory card

When I connect my E71 with an 8GB memory card, I can't sync music nor maps. I get a message that asks me to inseert a memory card.

1) Hav u used ovi maps at least once in recent times(may b after u hav updated ur handset's firmware? any update etc.,)?
2) Before connecting ur device to Ovi Suite, can u refresh ur memory card?

Can u read/view the memory contents on your device/pc? Is it only happening in ovi suite, i m chcking bcoz to make sure that ur memory card is not corrupted

PC Suite doesn't even come into the equation here.
Connect the phone in data storage mode. It will appear in your "My Computer" as an external drive.
Enable the display of hidden and system files so that everything gets copied and just drag/drop stuff over from one place to the other using the explorer.
(Note that I can't provide more detailed help than that since I don't actually use Windows on my own PCs)

Importing more than one Memory Card at the same time

As a productivity tool for professionnals, Lightroom should allow us to import from more than one source at the same time, as Aperture do. I have a multiple Flash Card reader, and we cannot import all of them at the same time in Lightroom...
I know that I can copy them in a folder, then importing them in LR... But this is time and space consuming if I want to convert the file in DNG : it's okay if photography is a hobby for you, but when it's your full time job, and you often import 4 16Gb Compact Flash Cards at the same time, you don't want to waste time to wait the copying process on your hard disk, and then wait for the "import and convert to DNG" process : this process require to duplicate the files : RAW to DNG on the same hard disk, instead of Direct copy and convert to DNG from your memory cards to your Hard Disk.

You can have multiple remotes for one ATV, and one remote for multiple ATVs.
In our house we have two iPhones and one iPod iPod Touch, all able to control the same ATV at the same time (much to the delight of my daughter who enjoys ousting my music choices for her own).
Why have iPod touch in each room? Its not a wired remote - its a mobile device. Think of a landline vs mobile telephone - landlines are one per room, mobiles are one per person - that's how an iPod is used, even as a remote - you take it with you.
Just like a mobile phone, you'd have one personalised iPod Touch or iPhone per person, not per ATV or room.

Encrypt memory card data

How can I encrypt files on memory card so if phone is stolen data can't be read?
Using device encryption is useless, I think. Is password encription the only way?

The process varies according to your OS release on the device, but check Options > Security > General Settings and set your password and see what options you have there. You should find one for encryption to include the media card.

I want to backup my pinned tabs and my bookmarks as they have been lost several times after windows updates

several times after system crashes and sometimes after windows updates my pinned tabs have disappeared. How can I back up the pinned tabs and bookmarks??

Firefox stores the bookmarks and the browsing history in the places.sqlite database file..
There are 10 rotating daily JSON backups (bookmarks-####-##-##.json) in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder, one for each day that Firefox is started.

OVI Maps doesn't recognize my E71's memory card

Hi All,
I previously had Nokia Maps 2.0 with the maps of my province stored offline on my memory card and everything was fine. Today, I upgraded to Nokia Maps 3.0 and it installed fine on my E71. Now, I'm in Ovi Suite 2.0 -> Maps and with it recognizing my E71 connected via PC Suite mode, it tells me that I need to insert a memory card even though there is one there. No matter what I do I can't get it to download the Maps I want.
Can anyone help?

I deleted everything off the phone, reformatted, re-ran Nokia Maps on the phone, launched Ovi Suite, spent 20 minutes waiting for it to connect (a series of internal errors) and now I have the maps on my phone

I like Nokia Maps 3.0 quite a bit better than 2.0, I just wish there were less steps needed to search like how it was in 2.0 (just type and hit OK, rather than Options -> Search -> Fill in the various fields) .

N73 - Memory card disconnecting all the time

Didnt have this problem before. It started happening when I updated to new firmware week ago. When I use data on memory card (mp3 / excel / word / copy data / take pictures / just surf memory card) it disconects!
With message: "Removing memory card is not safe if you don't select "remove memory card"."
Sometimes it passes only few seconds from acessing memory card to disconnecting, sometimes I manage to use memory card even for 10 or more minutes, max is about 1hour or so.
Memory card is takeMS 1GB miniSD and it worked fine before firmware update. How can it be fixed?

E71 importing sim card data

I just inheireted an E71x from a family member and plugged the sim card from my old Nokia 6085h. It works, except none of my contacts came over with my sim card. How to I fix this?

Did you copy the contacts from your 6085h to the SIM card? On your E71x, in contacts you can copy the SIM into the phone.

Session is Lost Several Times

A few months ago I uploaded a site and it contains a login to a CMS. Everything had been working fine up to two weeks ago. None of the files have ever been modified since their first upload, and the CMS has been (and still is) used on a regular basis.
What happens is, after they log in, their automatically forwarded to a menu (there's many items on this menu). When the user clicks on one of the items, for some reason, it goes to the login screen again, which it shouldn't--obviously it's suppose to go the linked page. Once the user logs in, then their directed to the linked page they originally clicked on. Unfortunately, this does not happen all the time. The same user could log in on a different browser and not experience that issue with the same link, but they would experience it with a different link, again not all the time.
This is very queer because this just recently started happening. I have DW CS4 and would greatly appreciate any help. Just for a sample, I've posted the code for both the login and one of the pages we're experiencing a problem:

Two things to consider... If it was working, and now it's not, what changed? And, does it work locally?
If it works locally in your local development/test environment ( you do test locally don't you? ) then it's a server issue.
If it was working, and now it's not, and you have not modified the site, then again, it's a server issue.
Test locally to be sure you can say with confidence "It's not my code, it works fine when I test locally" then contact your host to see if the server is having problems. Which is highly likely if you have done the above checks.

How can I use a Counter in a Card 6601 for several times in the same VI

When I try to use a Counter two times for read and for write, I get always a error (no. 50103). What should that mean.

From the menu Help-->Explain Error...
"The specified resource is reserved. The operation was completed by ignoring or overriding the specified resource."
If you are using one particular counter for both read and write operations, you'll need to clear the read task before configuring the write task and vice versa. To clear the task in traditional NI-DAQ, pass in the task id to "Counter Control.vi" with a control code of 'reset'. When using DAQmx wire the task into "DAQmx Clear Task.vi".
Do you really need to use the same counter in both a read and write mode at various times? Are the other three all tied up? Maybe I or someone else can help more if you describe the app and/or post some example code.

You are just seeing the small 'thumbnails' created for browsing the catalog. Most probably, your images have been moved, renamed or deleted outside of the organizer. If they have not been deleted, you'll have to search in your explorer/finder to see if they are somewhere on your computer. From the organizer, you can use the 'Information' panel on the right to see where the photos were before disappearing and other information such as 'date taken' which may help you to find them on your computer.
If you find the files elsewhere or renamed, there is hope to use the 'reconnect' function in the organizer.

Hello I was just asked to change my ID but not the password and tried to use the new ID with the old passwor and it's not working. I just need a little help.

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.
